Brickbat: Get a Grip
The Sunrise, Florida, police department has placed Sgt. Christopher Pullease on paid administrative leave after he was caught on video grabbing another officer by the throat and shoving her against a patrol car. Several officers had just arrested a man for aggravated assault and were placing him in a patrol car when Pullease arrived and spoke to the suspect. The audio on the video released by the police department had been turned off, but Chief Anthony Rosa said the sergeant's words made the situation worse. Pullease leaned into the patrol car with pepper spray in his hand. That's when one of the officers grabbed him by his work belt and pulled him away. Pullease turned around and grabbed her by the throat and shoved her against a a patrol car. Pullease walked back to the suspect, said something to him then pointed to the officer and said something to her.

Workplace safety issues, not a brickbat.
Sunrise leaders have a handle on this situation:
Bottom line: Imagine being this cop’s wife.
Watched the video and it looked like he was the one all tatted up like a low self esteem douchebag. That should have been a red flag to any potential partner. In addition to the vocation.
If he’s that pissed off she probably gives lousey head
Sgt. Pullease may want to change his name to Sgt. Chokease.
Wonder if a common citizen did that move on a cop’s wife if the police department would pay for a free holiday…or would that person face assault and battery charges.
Pullease
If his first name is Eddie they should just partner him up with a rabbit to keep him in check.
PULLEASE BRUTALITY!!!!
Roid rage is a terrible thing.
In a better world, where cops were held accountable, Sgt. Pullease would get stiffly punished (hammered, even, one could say) for his roid rage, and he’d end up with hammered-roids!
It’s all blue on blue in ’22!
Far more often, it’s blue on black!

(Seems to me that someone else did this song far better, but I’m not sure).
Chief Rosa: “… once the investigation is done, I’m committed to being completely open and transparent and everything will be released.”
Translation: The investigation will be ongoing until either the press stops asking about it or we have scrubbed the remaining cameras of any video and audio from the incident. Only then will the investigation be done and we’ll turn over all that remains.
This actually has a lot of positives.
A fellow officer physically intervened when a cop started looking like he was going to dispense a little nightstick justice. And the system backed her up.
That is all to the good.
There is no way to hire a bunch of people who want to go out and exercise power over individuals and not wind up with a few douchebags along the way. It is how you handle the douchebags that counts.
Usually, they back them up. Let’s see how this one goes. It seems to be headed the right direction. Ish.
Good points; thanks!
What happened was a new officer, who hasn’t been forced out or turned into a bad cop, pulled a bad cop away from assaulting someone in cuffs. None of the other cops would have intervened. They knew better. She only did because she’s new and doesn’t know that cops don’t stop cops. If an officer wants to fuck someone up, then get out of the way or join in. You don’t stop them. The bad cop has been doing this for 21 years. Yes. For 21 years he’s been escalating situations and hurting helpless people.
Only when he assaulted another officer did this make the news.
I bet the female who intervened will not be a cop for much longer. She’ll be forced out by her fellow officers and blacklisted. People like her are not welcome on any police force.
Supposedly they had recently had training about stepping in if another cop got out of control. In other words she did exactly what they told her to do.
She did what PD management told her to do.
That won’t stop fellow officers from harassing her into leaving the force.
This actually has a lot of positives.
While I agree, the fact that he rose to the rank of Sergeant before his rank lack of fitness for the job caught up to him is troubling. There is no way this is new behavior.
Can’t society Com together and acknowledge that cop on cop violence is an issue?

And the way we handle douchebags is … nothing. Hell, sometimes we promote them.
We need brain scans to weeds out the douchebags among cops & some other public employees!!!

We know enough about brain science by now, that we can MEASURE good (empathy) v/s evil (lack of empathy, psychopathy); that we could test for it!
Fixes to what we have now:
All police men and women (TSA agents, border guards, FBI, yadda-yadda) must pass the brain scan test before getting a badge. Period!
Leave civilian “gun control” off of the list… Guns are too easily hand-made or stolen, etc.
HERE comes the most radical part, but I am serious: ALL of those civilians who pass the brain-scan test with colors flying (are clearly of high degrees of common sense, intelligence, and empathy) should, if they volunteer, be paid $100 or $200 per month, from our taxes, to encourage them to carry a gun or two, EVERY TIME THEY GO ANYWHERE in public! Including schools, hospitals, etc. … ALL of the current “free-fire zones for the criminally insane”, AKA “no self defense allowed” zones, AKA “gun-free zones”.
Ish.
Yeah, you left off the most important thing. He grabbed her by the throat rather than some other, far more explicitly-Constitutionally-protected, area that would’ve likely gotten summarily dismissed without pay rather than just earning him a vacation.
So we should just ignore this behavior?
Pullease!
Strong pullease presence.
Sgt. Christopher “Nigger” Pullease. Go ahead, tell me I’m racist for calling an abusive white police officer a nigger.
You’re racist.
You can’t pullease all the folks all of the time…
Roid rage.
He should have been fired and arrested and the chief should be fired for not firing and arresting him.
So somebody said something to someone else about something, then someone did something to stop someone from doing something. Now that’s transparency
