Brickbat: Slammed

Wrestlers at public high schools in New York City will miss the chance to compete at the state championships and other high-stakes tournaments where they might be seen by college coaches. That's because city policy bars high school teams from competing in tournaments unless all wrestlers are vaccinated for COVID-19. State tournaments are typically held outside New York City, in places that do not mandate vaccines. The New York City policy also mandates that wrestlers must wear a mask while competing indoors. High school coaches say that the policy has reduced the number of students trying out for wrestling teams.

Fucking maskholes.
You've unmasked me as one who likes to wrestle with the questions of the day! Who will coach, or if need be, wrestle with, the wresting coaches? Is there a vaccine against authoritarianism and micro-management?
Is there a vaccine against authoritarianism and micro-management?
A single 10 min. dose of an illegal chokehold upon developing the first symptoms of authoritarianism. >99% effective with lifetime effectiveness in the afflicted individual. Regular, booster chokeholds should breakthroughs incur.

OT: Social Media Posts Threaten Schools In TikTok Challenge
Section 230, because without social media, the terrorists win.
I found out about this in a direct email from the school district. My two teens found out through Snapchat where someone had reposted the email.
Every asshole who reposted it should go to jail for the weekend. It’s absolutely reckless conduct, not protected by 1A.
If they wanted to be responsible, they could have notified the FBI or local police or their school principal. But reposting a threat should be treated like making a threat.
Did anyone actually do this? Unlike say, the bathroom challenge, there's nothing funny here. There's no joke to make.
In fact, out of all of these challenges, the bathroom one was the only one that got any traction because students saw it as harmless, and bathroom humor is inherently amusing.
It seems like this bears more resemblance to Tide Pods and Rainbow Parties than anything else.
New York?
Who cares?
New Yorkers?
Do they?
While wrestling indoors?
Is there outdoor wrestling?
In New York in the winter?
In loincloths?
The demi-gods don't grasp that their treatment of the students during the pandemic is costing athletes prime development and learning years that will affect the students ability to advance to college scholarships and possible professional status. Students in lockdown states will have a harder time competing with those from Texas, Florida, etc.
Wearing a mask while wrestling, playing basketball, etc? With all the exertion, it is hard enough to breathe anyway.
I’d be curious to know what kind of sounds would come out of a woodchipper, if, well, you know.
It’s a shame that the athletes, coaches, parents, and assistants didn’t just get together and disobey en masse, on a single day in some donated warehouse.
At least the students will learn about overregulation in a context where it matters little.
