Justice Department Charges a Steele Dossier Source With Lying to the FBI
The investigation of Trump aide Carter Page has exposed major problems with federal secret surveillance warrants.

The Justice Department has arrested a source for lying repeatedly to the FBI as agents investigated the infamous "Steele dossier," which was used to justify the investigation of former President Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia.
The man, a Russian national named Igor Danchenko who works in the United States as an analyst, provided information that British ex-spy Christopher Steele would use in his dossier. Its contents were infamously leaked and alleged a conspiracy between Trump and his staff to coordinate and cooperate with the Russian government.
The dossier initially had roots in political opposition research, but it was eventually used by the FBI to justify secret surveillance of then–Trump aide Carter Page to try to determine whether he had been compromised by Russian interests.
Page was never charged with anything, and even at the time, the FBI made it clear that many of the allegations within the dossier had not been corroborated. But nevertheless, many people treated it as gospel, including some major news outlets.
On Thursday, the Justice Department released a grand jury indictment of Danchenko. He's charged with five counts of lying to the FBI. According to the indictment, Danchenko repeatedly lied in FBI interviews in order to conceal his role in passing along the information to Steele. Some of the information within the dossier may not have originated from Russian sources, but rather a public relations executive connected to the Democratic Party.
After the investigation did not lead to charges against Trump himself, the Department of Justice's Office of the Inspector General (OIG) investigated the circumstances behind the FBI's various warrant applications with the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) to wiretap Page. In 2019, the OIG revealed that the FBI's warrant applications were full of blunders and omissions, and noted that even though the FBI acknowledged it couldn't corroborate the details of the Steele dossier, it was still using it to justify warrants to snoop on Page.
Subsequent investigations showed much bigger problems with the warrants the FBI submits to the FISC. It wasn't just about Page—the OIG found hundreds of problems with nearly all of the warrants the FBI was submitting to snoop on Americans. This should be seen as a big deal—the secrecy of the FISC means that Americans who are targeted for surveillance don't know they've been singled out and don't have any defense or due process to stop it. The court itself serves as oversight to protect citizens' Fourth Amendment rights. But until all of this came out, we had little idea how carelessly these warrants were written and reviewed.
A significant amount of the political disaster that ensued following Trump's election has been partially driven by the way the investigation of Page and others in Trump's circle has been handled. The Washington Post tries to cast this as a "Republicans pounce" opportunity because it "is likely to buttress Republican charges that Democrats and FBI agents intentionally or accidentally turned cheap partisan smears into a high-stakes national security investigation of a sitting president."
But isn't that what may well have happened here? It's something everybody should be angry about, because it could clearly happen again. As long as people's conception of the incident is clouded by their opinions of Trump, we may not see the kind of surveillance reforms necessary to keep the FISC from potential future political manipulation.

It wasn't "opposition research". Research is when you search out factual information on an opponent. This was a political opposition narrative creation since the information was not based on any facts.
Pretty sure the legal term is "slander".
-jcr
You're incorrect the "research" (I agree with John, let's call it slander), wasn't based on factual information, instead it was based on factual information (e.g. when certain people were in certain countries), that was turned into fake allegations. The real big crime here is what the FBI did under Obama, as it makes Obama an accessory to abuse of government power for political purposes; thus, corrupting the government for the benefit of one political party (the RINOcrats) at the expense of what the people voted for. The secondary crime, is Hillary's push to defraud the government and start an investigation of Trump, when the real investigation should have been of her, her email server, and how the hacking of it led to Russian blackmailing Obama and Hillary.
No Mention as to who PR Executive #1 in the indictment is? Literally the DNC PR guy for Hillary?
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/justice/pr-executive-1-identified-as-longtime-clinton-adviser-who-fed-falsehood-to-steele-source
Also still no Mea Culpa for Reason pushing this nonsense for 3 years? Even Wapo finally came out and admitted the sourcing of their reports is collapsing.
Also no mention on how the FBI knew how bad the Steele Dossier sources were in 2017?!?
Sean Davis
@seanmdav
According to Durham’s indictment, the Washington Post knew in January of 2017 that the PRIMARY SOURCE for the bogus Steele dossier peddled by the FBI was a “Russian agent” according to the career Democrat operative who employed him.
THEY WERE ALL IN ON IT FROM THE BEGINNING.
https://twitter.com/seanmdav/status/1456321566044835842
Sean Davis
@seanmdav
According to Durham, large sections of Christopher Steele's bogus dossier were pure fabrications taken verbatim from long-time Democrat operative Charles Dolan and funneled through Igor Danchenko: "[Dolan] acknowledged to the FBI that he...'fabricated the fact of the meeting[.]"
A mea culpa should be relevant here Reason. You fell for this nonsense and helped push it.
They buried the shit out of that lede. Hillary Clinton campaign official invents salacious shit and feeds it to Danchenko.
Since this is a more relevant thread.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgo7JXgk_t4"Why Aren't Democrats Protesting the Biden DOJ Over Lack of 1/6 Insurrection Charges?
Sorry, but the link works.
They finally had a judge release at least one J6 protestor due to how horribly they were being treated in jail.
https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2021/11/04/jan-6-defendant-released-after-investigation-finds-mistreatment-of-prisoners-n470246
Yep. They moved the killers, violent criminals, etc. out of the D.C. jail because it was so bad, but none of the Jan. 6 arrestees.
Banana Republic political prosecutions, and still nothing from Reason, because Orange Man Bad.
They're too busy investigating what happened to the former SSRs.
It is pretty horrible. They just finally gave one lady 60 days for misdemeanor trespassing. This after holding her for 9 months.
I have been a critic of our criminal justice system for decades because of the things detailed in places like Reason. But I never in my wildest dreams thought it was this broken, this corrupt... It is almost irredeemable. It is impossible that every person involved in this does not know that they are way, way over the line. From judges to prosecutors to appeals courts ... And even political leaders like Pelosi... All playing a role in this atrocity.
They are making defendants read fucking fealty statements for reduced sentencing in court. It is insanity.
One of the Obama judges released a prisoner awaiting trial solely for denouncing trump.
And reason has remained silent.
Reason has morphed into Emote!
The inquisition got a convert?
"...One of the Obama judges released a prisoner awaiting trial solely for denouncing trump..."
Reason is channeling Duranty.
And as a point of interest, forgot his name and entered "NYT russian reporter 1930s" in Bing and got no matches!
Tried Google and got it first hit, along with the debate over the Pulitzer.
MS learned from the anti-trust trials.
I'm assuming that was time served.
"...They just finally gave one lady 60 days for misdemeanor trespassing..."
You just wait! There are going to be several charges related to unpaid parking tickets and quite few on late library books!
Greenwald looks like he's having a hard time not breaking out in laughter.
I watched the whole video... I thought at one point he did, maybe he was just smiling from ear to ear.
BTW, DR, TY. Wonderful presentation by Greenwald.
Per the Post commentariat, this is just the Trump-loving FBI trying to make the Stone Dossier look like less than the 100% truth it is.
Yeah, and according to the shitstain Tony, he beat that hag only because the media was in his pocket!
Seriously, he was trying to push that pile of shit.
Tony is the epitome of a retarded Marxist.
“But nevertheless, many people treated it as gospel, including some major news outlets.”
Care to elaborate on some of these outlets?
Rhymes with "Treason's Jakub Solumn" and "Elric Bowm".
They’re not major.
Shorter to list the ones that didn't... Which I am not recalling.
As a patriotic left-libertarian, I understand the conflict between promoting national security and protecting civil liberties. For example after some people did something on 9 / 11, the government was too eager in hindsight to grant itself new powers.
However in the case of #TrumpRussia it's appropriate to give the feds the benefit of the doubt. I mean, Russia literally installed their 3-decade intel asset as President of the United States. That's the worst time to second-guess the national security professionals who keep us safe from foreign threats.
#LibertariansForGettingToughWithRussia
Trump wasn't a 3-decade Intel asset of Russia. That's the kind of bullshit claim the Steele Dossier tried to perpetuate and now that dossier and it's enablers are catching charges (in case you're not up to date on current events).
The Feds abusing their surveillance powers to help a political party frame their opponent is exactly the kind of abuse of the surveillance state that libertarians should be concerned about and a perfect time to start second-guessing their power.
#LibertariansForTheStasi
New around here?
Exposing the fact that the Deep State colluded to launch a coup against the duly elected President of the United States may be a happy accident of revealing the fact that we're run by a cabal of lying liars, crooked crooks, and scumbagging scumbags, which nobody had any idea was the case.
And a special shout-out to the inept FISC judges that oversaw this clusterfuck.
But they wrote a sternly worded letter telling the FBI to stop it.
Problem solved.
BFD. They found one patsy. Meanwhile, Andrew McCabe, criminal FBI liar, had his full pension restored, back pay and court costs paid thanks to the DOJ.
And James Clapper, who chuckled as he admitted to Congress that he lied to their faces about setting up a clearly-unconstitutional universal surveillance program, is quite gainfully employed at CNN as the National Security Analyst whose fearless reporting on the Russian menace was so essential during the crisis.
The IC is inherently corrupt at this point. And based on donations and retirement jobs in media they tend to collude w the DNC.
And based on donations and retirement jobs in media they tend to collude w the DNC.
You mean like former Obama CIA-Director and frequent CNN correspondent John Brennan?
Yes.
But also page, stroch (sp?), and others. Comey is teaching an ethics class at NYU for some reason.
Really need to bring back tar and feathers... Something, because it makes me want to burn it all down when I see the two-tiered caste system we have going in courts and politics.
BFD. They found one patsy.
This is the kind of low-level perp that they can use to bring down a bigger perp.

"In 2019, the OIG revealed that the FBI's warrant applications were full of blunders and omissions, and noted that even though the FBI acknowledged it couldn't corroborate the details of the Steele dossier, it was still using it to justify warrants to snoop on Page."
Why not mention that Comey has admitted that he knew the source of the information was Clinton campaign opposition research when he submitted the FISA application--without letting the judge know that the source of the information was Clinton campaign opposition research?
"The then-senior Department of Justice (DOJ) official briefed both senior FBI and DOJ officials in summer 2016 about Christopher Steele’s Russia dossier, explicitly cautioning that the British intelligence operative’s work was opposition research connected to Hillary Clinton’s campaign and might be biased.
Ohr’s briefings, in July and August 2016, included the deputy director of the FBI, a top lawyer for then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and a Justice official who later would become the top deputy to special counsel Robert Mueller.
At the time, Ohr was the associate deputy attorney general. Yet his warnings about political bias were pointedly omitted weeks later from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant that the FBI obtained from a federal court, granting it permission to spy on whether the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia to hijack the 2016 presidential election.
----The Hill
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/425739-fisa-shocker-doj-official-warned-steele-dossier-was-connected-to-clinton
The FBI knew that the information they submitted was bogus--and they submitted it to the FISA Court anyway. And they didn't tell the Court they knew it was bogus. It should also be noted that the FISA court had repeatedly rejected the FBI's request for a surveillance warrant before the bogus information from Clinton's campaign research was included in the request by the FBI--and the FISA courts almost never reject these requests.
Trump supporters were right to go nuts over this.
Something something woodchippers something something.
The FBI knew that the information they submitted was bogus--and they submitted it to the FISA Court anyway. And they didn't tell the Court they knew it was bogus.
Isn't that literally the definition of perjury?
Well, he's withholding information at the very least. The judges were livid and sought changes to procedures when they found out.
And Comey admitted to it in an interview with George Stephanopoulos.
It's public knowledge.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: A-- and at the time, did you know it had been financed at the beginning from President Trump's-- by President Trump's political opponents?
JAMES COMEY: Yes, I-- I was told at some point that it was-- the effort had originally been financed by a Republican source to develop-- material-- opposition research on Donald Trump. Then after the Republican nominating process ended, the effort was taken up and funded by a Democratic aligned group trying to get opposition research on Trump. I never knew which-- who the groups were, but I knew it started with Republicans paying for it and then Democrats were paying for it.

Comey and the FBI knew who the sources were. Durham's indictment of that lawyer claimed the FBI didnt have that information and were misled by that lawyer.
Is this the first time you've heard that special counsels try to make the people at the bottom testify against their superiors?
Innocent until proven guilty, right? Maybe he's telling the truth about his lying! If Danchenko wants to go to prison for lying to the FBI, then all he needs to do is plead guilty--or not make a deal with special counsel--and that will probably happen.
If the truth is that he didn't really lie to the FBI because the FBI was working with him to collect the information, then he'll either present that defense in his trial, or he'll testify against the people he was working with at the FBI.
This is the purpose of special counsels. They investigate coverups, and one of the ways they expose the truth is by prosecuting people.
Have you ever heard the Ballad of James McCord?
"McCord was one of the first men convicted in the Watergate criminal trial; on eight counts of conspiracy, burglary and wiretapping. On March 21, 1973, three days before sentencing, McCord, after speaking to a probation officer and thus surmising that he might be facing a very lengthy jail sentence, submitted a letter to the judge in the case, Judge Sirica, in which he claimed that he and the other defendants had committed perjury in their trial and that there was pressure from higher up for them to have done so."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_W._McCord_Jr.
You start with the low hanging fruit at the bottom and work your way up. One time, they forced a president to resign that way.
Is all this new to you?
>>>Is this the first time you've heard
lol you want to think not, but ...
Yeah, Ken is nothing if not courteous to lefty assholes like shitlord.
Sir strudel is so fucking stupid that I’m still not convinced it’s a parody.
* not a parody
"...The judges were livid and sought changes to procedures when they found out...."
Hence that sternly-worded letter. Cucks.
"Court Bans Agents Who Botched Carter Page Surveillance From Seeking Wiretaps"
An opinion and ruling by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court also accepts a series of reforms the F.B.I. said it would make following a damning inspector general report.
----New York Times

There's only so much the courts can do. The matter was assigned to a special counsel, and he's bringing cases against people--working his way up from the bottom. They need to wait for the prosecutor to do his work.
The FBI lawyer that pleaded guilty to altering the email avoided jail time.
"...The FBI lawyer that pleaded guilty to altering the email avoided jail time..."
Shame our laws don't let the prosecutor to appeal that.
Not just the FBI. We now know the White House was informed of the Clinton plan to smear the Trump campaign with Russian ties before they did anything, and the Obama White House's reaction was to immediately set the FBI in motion going after Page and Papadopoulos.
This is not an "FBI is out of control" story. That would be horrible. But this is much worse. This is a "DNC activists have control of the top levels of the CIA and FBI and are using them for political persecution" story.
At least they tried to hide it before 2020.
Now? Our AG, who was minutes away from sitting on the supreme court, issued instructions that our nation's elite counterterrorism task force be focused on local republican activists at school board meetings.
They have no fear at all. They know that the system has their back. We saw that with the Flynn case. Even after evidence was finally elicited from the FBI that exonerated him and implicated the government, all the way to the white house, Judge Sullivan and the appeals courts had their back, refusing to even let the DOJ drop the charges.
They had multiple layers of lifetime appointed judges eager to participate in their political perversion of the justice system.
That should have all people who believe in our system of justice outraged and terrified. From the ACLU to the Green Party to the Tea Party to the Libertarian Party, everyone not on board with a corrupt establishment should be up in arms. Instead, only a handful of rights libertarians even know it exists.
^
"...who was minutes away from sitting on the supreme court,..."
If only we had a POTUS who did his job (but issued mean tweets).
Look, it sounded collusion-ey.
By the way....
Anita Hill, one of the prime witnesses in impeachment 1, is also the person who introduced Igor to Steele.
Fiona, not Anita.
Whoops. Thank you for correction.
It's Hills all the way down.
Wait, that doesn't sound right.
that chick Audrina from The Hills was a sight.
But dumb. as. a. post.
I maintain that the special counsel going after this guy for lying to the FBI is about getting to the bottom of whether he really lied to the FBI or whether he was working with the FBI. That the source of the information was hogwash is beside the point. Everyone already knew that--including the Justice Department and the FBI. They're already admitted as much. The question isn't even if they knew the information was bogus when they submitted the FISA request. The question was whether they were instrumental in having the data collected in any way.
P.S. Last week, it was discovered that the people at the National School Boards Association who wrote that letter to Biden asking him to sic the FBI on parents wrote that letter at the request of and under the direction of the Biden White House. This kind of thing seems to be fairly common. Some of the things people argue about are staged. The stories that were cited in the NSBA letter turned out to be false--and requested by Biden's White House staff, and it wouldn't be surprising if the information that was supplied to the FBI was at least partially solicited by the Obama White House and/or the FBI.
You might want to check out Techno Fog on substack, Ken.
"...Last week, it was discovered that the people at the National School Boards Association who wrote that letter to Biden asking him to sic the FBI on parents wrote that letter at the request of and under the direction of the Biden White House..."
Plausible deniability.
spinning tales of fiction to Flowers By Irene about a complete work of fiction is not a crime
Shouldn't that be "source"?
As usual y'all got it upside down. I remember very clearly that Comey completely fucked over the Democrats by announcing the reopening of a completely fabricated bs email investigation a couple weeks before the election and there were leaks from the FBI office in NY. The accusations against Trump didn't actually materialize until after the election. Clinton was damaged by FBI interference during the campaign. The Republicans in the Senate investigated the allegations against Trump and found numerous contacts and suspicious behavior. They busted Don, Jr and company willing to deal in and solicit Russian help. Trump's campaign manager Manafort was working for the Russian mafia. This Russian American dude under indictment for lying to the FBI is an interesting update but it doesn't change the good evidence that do have showing collusion and attempted collusion between Trump and Russia. Russia attacked the Democratic nominee by hacking and sowing discord and Trump invited it and then once in office he helped cover it up.
No. Hillary committed a felony if you ask any clearance holder. Or lawyer dealing with it.
Comey swept it under the rug. He only came forward because agents outside d.c. threatened to do so if he didn't.
Oh... and the atlantic discussed the dossier prior to the election dummy. Then when trump won the Obama administration quickly set up a trap to set in motion a special counsel to hamper trump.
Russia hacked the Democrats and you rather be Russian fascist Republicans were like wild dogs eating it up. Your friend Putin says he's a conservative just like you Jesse. You should move there and find out just how wonderful life is in a conservative nation.
Oooh you make me feel old. I've been around long enough to remember when it tended to be Republicans doing the "love it or move to the USSR" stuff.
It's interesting how the evil empire slipped so comfortably into a fascist conservative wonderland.
Did that sound intelligent in your head?
Trump was far harder on russia than Obama was or biden is.
Nope not even close. Above all Putin wants legitimacy and Trump gave him that because above all else wants money and power and Putin offerd that.
Under obama..
Crimea. Energy production increas etc Europe. Skolkovo technology trades (ended up in Russian weapon development), ending us tactical nukes while Russia developed them, reduced us arms while Russia increased, stopped missile defense in Eastern Europe, didn't arm Ukraine for self defense...
Your turn. What did trump do?
Trump hurt his feelings.
It's interesting how the evil empire slipped so comfortably into a fascist conservative wonderland.
Yeah - it's the Russians who changed.
We understand your hostility to Russia and Trump is primarily to link Trump to an enemy of democrats and rile up the democrat base.
Why you expect that to work on normal people is beyond me.
My hostility to Russia? I like "Russia". I dont like their fascist leader and especially take offense to their interference in our elections. You guys are arguing that the FBI tried to interfere against Trump so surely you understand why a Democrat would get pissed by Russian interference? Do you understand?
Do you understand how democrats are playing you like a fiddle?
He doesn’t care. He’s an empty headed vessel. Waiting to be filled with democrat bullshit.
I can't tell if you are actually angry, or just pulling a really sad deflection game.
Embrace the power of "and."
Never forget ignorant and stupid when discussing its qualities.
Lol. That's your defense of Hillary committ a felony?
And no it wasn't the Russians shit for brains. Wiki leaks didn't get it from the Russians.
lol your delusion is pretty fucking delicious sometimes.
Name one thing that I stated that is false.
completely fabricated bs email investigation
The accusations against Trump didn't actually materialize until after the election.
The Republicans in the Senate investigated the allegations against Trump and found numerous contacts and suspicious behavior.
They busted Don, Jr and company willing to deal in and solicit Russian help. (This one is strange since this indictment shows it was the dnc working with Russians and Steele openly admitted it)
Trump's campaign manager Manafort was working for the Russian mafia.
it doesn't change the good evidence that do have showing collusion and attempted collusion between Trump and Russia.
Russia attacked the Democratic nominee by hacking
Did I catch them all?
Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya was a Russian government informant when she met with Trump campaign officials at Trump Tower in 2016, she admitted in an interview with NBC News slated to air Friday. She had previously denied she had any ties to the Russian government.
“I am a lawyer, and I am an informant,” she told NBC News, according to a New York Times report. “Since 2013, I have been actively communicating with the office of the Russian prosecutor general.”
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of ties between the Russian government and the Trump campaign has been investigating the 2016 meeting, which emails show was scheduled by the Trump camp in hopes of obtaining damaging information on Hillary Clinton. The meeting was attended by Donald Trump Jr., senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chief who Mueller charged with a litany of offenses, including money laundering and charges.
Veselnitskaya said she was working for Yuri Chaika at the time of the meeting, the prosecutor general of Russia and a “top Kremlin official,” according to the New York Times. In November, Veselnitskaya told the Senate Judiciary Committee that she had “no relationship with Mr. Chaikia, his representatives and his institutions other than those related to my professional functions as a lawyer.”
But emails obtained by a former oil tycoon and vocal critic of President Vladimir Putin show Veselnitskaya worked closely with Chaika’s office to help defend a real estate firm owned by a Russian businessman against Justice Department civil fraud charges, even though she said she was acting independently as an attorney on behalf of the firm, Prevezon Holdings. The Justice Department eventually settled with the firm for $6 million, but Prevezon has yet to pay.
Donald Trump Jr. has said the meeting with Veselnitskaya did not result in the damaging information he was hoping for.

You do underhand that Donald Trump Jr meeting with a Russian attorney who turns out to be an information is not, in fact, the Trump campaign coordinating with the Russian government, right?
Because you act like they’re conveniently the same thing when obviously they are not.
A) not illegal to find out information.
B) she worked with fusion GPS
C) She talked about adoption policy
D) meeting ended after 15 minutes.
Now address the rest of your lies.
There is no more reason to engage shitlord than there is to engage turd, sarc or asshole Joe.
Fuck off and die is the limited of their understanding.
Two days later and no response from Lord of Lies. Typical dumbass democrat shill.
“ They busted Don, Jr and company willing to deal in and solicit Russian help”
“Agreed to talk to Russian once” does not equal “coordination and cooperation with Russian government.”
Believe it or not, lots of people talk to lots of people. You’ve never really audited the conversations of any of the politicians you like.
Step one in embracing reality: stop believing fake news.
Or growing a bran cell.
Trump's campaign manager Manafort was working for the Russian mafia.
Manafort worked for Trump for a matter of weeks and they had never met before.
Do you know who Manafort was working for when he committed the crimes he was convicted of?
The Podesta Group.
Do you know who they are? The Podesta brothers specifically?
Hint: one of them is the guy who accidentally gave the password to the DNC servers to the "Russian hackers." He was affiliated with the Clintons and Obama in some way, if I recall correctly . . . .
They had never met but he just so happened to hire the Russian mafia guy to organize his campaign. That sounds even worse.
Just gloss over the Podesta link. I guess guilt by association only goes one way.
Watching you try and shift to red herrings to take attention away from the obvious is getting comical.
Like a drowning man on a boat full of prop life preservers. Keeps flailing in the hopes one is real.
They had never met but he just so happened to hire the Russian mafia guy to organize his campaign.
Manafort is no more or less 'Russian mafia' than Hunter Biden is.
Lets run through the problems normals have with this:
1. I remember very clearly that Comey completely fucked over the Democrats by announcing the reopening of a completely fabricated bs email investigation
National security is unimportant when Very Important Left Wingers are involved, therefore is is illegitimate for the agencies tasked with protecting national security to perform their function with regard to these targets.
2. The accusations against Trump didn't actually materialize until after the election.
This is not true, but certainly the issue was used to delegitimize his governance in addition to effect the election. Normals consider a hoax used in such a way a problem.
3. Clinton was damaged by FBI interference during the campaign.
Clinton was damaged because she put party over country. While essentially all left wingers do this as well normals find it offensive and disqualifying.
4. found numerous contacts and suspicious behavior.
All campaigns have contacts with foreign governments. None of them have ever has had reasonable basis to be considered suspicious other than the left's desire to create a media storm.
5. They busted Don, Jr and company willing to deal in and solicit Russian help. Trump's campaign manager Manafort was working for the Russian mafia.
Don Jr tried to find out whether there was something going on, and Manafort worked for Ukranians. Calling them mafia is like claiming everyone in America works for the mafia because they all deal with waste management companies.
6. it doesn't change the good evidence that do have showing collusion and attempted collusion between Trump and Russia.
The reason this supposed "good evidence" isn't identified is that it doesn't exist.
7. Russia attacked the Democratic nominee by hacking and sowing discord
Russia planted 100k worth of juvenile memes on Facebook trashing both Clinton and Trump, with many not having a discernable political position at all. Anyone claiming these had any impact on the election thinks people are too lazy to see what the memes are and thus feels free to mischaracterize this as a significant issue.
8. Trump invited it and then once in office he helped cover it up.
More invented fantasies.
You have a poor understanding of what happened. The Russians hacked the DNC and Clinton's campaign manager in addition to their online work for Trump. Manafort was working for a Russian oligarch in Ukraine but they were working to advance Russia's control over Ukraine.
Again. Wiki leaks have openly stated they were not given the emails from Russia. You are pushing lies.
If you mean by hack. Guess a password correctly.
Your a shit weasel
It's revealing people who do nothing but repeat discredited assertions think other people's understanding is deficient. This is the problem with left wingers: their only purpose is repeating hwat supports Team Blue. Facts and reality aren't relevant.
Clinton's campaign manager
You mean John Podesta? The co-founder of The Podesta Group, for whom Manafort was working when he committed his crimes?
And by "hacked," do you mean that time Podesta accidentally gave some phishers his password?
You know how you prevent the Russian leet haxors from getting into the DNC servers?
Here's how!
For those which are really important, I find opening a random document, copying the start of one sentence and adding it to a part of another with a number and special character tossed in gives you pretty much 'one-time use pad' security.
Why don’t you just admit you’re a lying shitweasel and you don’t care about anything other than democrats dominating Americans? This is obviously the case, so just admit it.
Noted. Comey Good/Bad oscillation wave inverted.
I'll never forget the when Colbert announced to his audience that Trump had fired Comey and they all cheered and he had to reprimand them for not understanding that Comey was a national hero, never mind all that stuff we said last week.
I remember telling someone it would be the ultimate troll if Trump had nominated Comey to replace Comey at the FBI. Right before he was fired, Democrats were calling for his head. He became a national hero only after he was fired by Trump. I really wish I could have seen the confirmation hearings if Trump had nominated him.
Y'all are full of shit. Fuck off and die.
So a game recap seems in order:
The Clinton Campaign with the support of the Obama Administration colluded with Russians to effect the outcome of an election. Democrats and left wingers have no problem with it despite their Collusion Theater Outrage these last 5 years.
Not all Russian collusion is created equal.
Anyone know yet when he will commit suicide?
Never talk to the FBI especially if you gonna lie. Jesus christ. I guess this guys gets a pardon though because it's only a process crime and he had good intentions.
Excuse me, but I think you meant to say that he's lying obviously to cover up high crimes and misdemeanors committed by the most powerful politicians of his favorite political party.
It's good intentions against Republicans. By Any Means Necessary, eh Strudel?
shitlord is a lying lefty asshole who understands short sentences:
Fuck off and die, asshole.
The poor FBI, imposed upon by this lying Russian.
Between this, new evidence on Wuhan Lab, Fauci's admitted lies, Biden's clearly diminished capacity, ... it's getting harder and harder to say that "crazy conspiracy theorist" are crazy.
need new conspiracies. old ones all came true.
When the media and the highest law enforcement in the land are caught blatantly lying to the American people, how are you supposed to believe everything is on the up-and-up?
For example, everyone says there's no evidence of voter fraud. Would you trust these people to show you evidence that if they found it?
Do you trust them to even look?
Look for D ballots, sure.
Treasonous criminals. I'm taking about Obama. He was in charge. He should pay. Also include anyone who supports him and all in his administration. These people are disgusting
All of this will eventually lead to Hillary's fat ass
I like big butts and I cannot lie. Don’t drag them into this.
I remember democrat friends telling me “Grump is Putins puppet! It’s all going to come out with MuellerTime! You’ll see!”
Then it became “Muller did find the bodies! They just can’t charge a sitting president!” Even though that never happened. They must still be waiting for the charges that will never come.
These are the people concerned with how misinformation and disinformation hurts democracy.
Democrats: heal thyself.
Did you check the link to Greenwald above? Hilarious takedown of the media "Walls are closing in", "Tipping point", "Beginning of the end", and very well documented:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgo7JXgk_t4
Thank Paul, not me.
He hits the nail on the head.
Democrats act like the republicans who believe the 2020 election was rigged are sooo stupid….. and then they go on believing fantastic tales of kidnapping, murder, conspiracy, treason, sedition, etc, about the Jan 6 riots, as a continuation of the multi-year Russiagate hoax. And they’re smug about it! They have a track record of believing bullshit conspiracy theories, and they have the lack of self-reflection to go around trying to fix other people.
Here’s my theory: we’ve reached a point in society where people understand that the world is complicated, and you need to be somewhat intelligent to understand it. So, democrats have just decided that: they’re smart. They didn’t get smart, or educate themselves, or learn how to think critically. They just decided that only smart people should be going around explaining how everything is supposed to be, and they definitely love doing that, so… that must mean they’re smart!
So they’ll smugly explain bullshit to you, and, as Glenn pointed out, if you hold up actual facts to their face, they will look you in the eye and say the magic phrase “white supremacy!” which allows them to label you a racist and ignore any real facts you show them that they don’t like. Because that’s how they think smart people do things. Because that’s what democrat thought leaders act. Hell, they’ll try to win elections that way, they believe in it so much, even though all normal people find it stupid and disgusting.
It’s hilarious. It would be even more funny if they didn’t want political power and to force ridiculousness on everyone.
No, democrats just need to go. Period. I’ve had enough. Haven’t all of you?
Is allowing the democrat party’s continued existence worth of all this misery, and oppression? Which will surely increase if they are allowed to persist.
Never, ever forget that most of the dummies on the Reason staff completely and totally fell for the "Steele Dossier" and all the bullshit in it hook, line, and sinker, the "pee tape" and all the rest of it.
Some of them, like Lizzie the Lezzie, even spent weeks (if not months) doing online research in order to try and prove that the outlandish claims in it were real.
In fact, I'll bet some of them probably secretly still believe that it's legit even now.
"Capitol Rioter Who Boasted She Wouldn’t Go to Jail Because She’s White Is Going to Jail"
[...]
"At the hearing, Cooper told Ryan that he believed her punishment would tell Americans “something about the courts and about how our country responded to what happened, and I think the sentence should tell them that we take it seriously.”..."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/capitol-rioter-boasted-she-wouldn-154911234.html
Cooper is the judge, telling the defendant that exercising her A1 rights is 'sending a bad message' which Cooper intends to correct, in spite of the fact that no coordinated effort has been found to be aimed at anything at all, let alone 'changing the results of an election'.
Note that not a single protester ("insurrectionist") has been charged with much more than a late library book or an unpaid parking ticket. This woman is a victim of 'signaling' by an assholic judge, far overstepping his/her authority.
Greenwald's take on the issue (especially that 'doctor' whose head is exploding) is looking spot on.
Hey, Shitstain, turd, sarc, Mike and other lefty shits! Tell us how they were going to 'overthrow democracy!!!!!!', assholes.
When the democrats are removed from power, we need o destroy judges like this.
Seems to me that, not too long ago, lying to the FBI was a bullshit "process crime" that no one cared about.
It is still a BS process crime. The job of the FBI is to separate truth from fiction. If you make a false accusation of a crime, I think that is a different matter. I think delivering the dossier is different. I think reaching out to the FBI is different. But if a bunch of Feds show up on your door step asking to talk to you, it is total BS.
I am glad that Durham is getting this out into the public sphere. But, I do hope the prosecutor says the charge itself is BS.
The job of the FBI is to separate truth from fiction.
That has never been their job, only their PR line.

Throughout all of this there's hardly a mention, if ever, of Obama. This was his. Administration. All this this was done on his watch. He knew. I know he'll never pay. Shit! No one of any import will. But I know and so does everyone. Obama was and is an evil, treasonous, dirty bag.
The FBI is every bit as rotten today as it was when Hoover was prancing around in his pinafores and trying to blackmail MLK into committing suicide. It can not be salvaged. It is the duty of the congress to abolish it, appoint a team of prosecutors to investigate and bring charges against every single person involved in these crimes, and forbid any future taxpayer-funded employment of anyone currently in that organization.

I wonder how much "truth" they will need to bring into evidence to "prove" he "lied".
This has the feeling of the fbi leadership phishing for dupes to give them the fabricated evidence required to initiate the investigation of one of the fbi leaderships political enemies. But I have a feeling the fbi will try to spin it as "woah is the fbi, we were just doing our jobs and got tricked by some bad guys. It's their fault, not ours.
Indeed.
They didn't have to fish. It is all circling back to the most corrupt collusion to effect an election in history. IC, media, DNC, etc all colluding off garbage to try to swing an election and then 4 years of using it to hamper the winner of the election.
Yeah... I might be wrong, but going after this guy is pretty much a signal that they are not going to do anything.
From those other cases, we know that this went all the way to the white house from day one. We also know that they knew it was all about a political campaign from day one.
If they are not turning over every rock in those top level guys at FBI and CIA to get them on 40 years in jail type charges so they can get them to testify against Biden, Obama, Comfy and Clapper, what are they even doing?
They had no problem doing that to Flynn, Page, Stone et. al., even going after family members.
Now all we can do is give the very lowest level functionary a slap on the wrist??
Smells more like CYA than expose'.
I don’t think they wanted Hillary to win either, and Comey didn’t want to be beholden to the Clinton machine (or get suicided).
I don’t agree that Comey’s September surprise (or was it October) really swayed enough votes in the swing states that Trump picked up. On the other hand, listing out all the ways she broke the law and basically saying that she’s untouchable but if you do the same thing you’ll be fucked 7 ways from Sunday may have pissed off enough people.
_I'd like to know how much this Russian guy lied and how much he simply told the fbi what they wanted to hear._
It's all of the later until the story collapses before the public. Then all of the former. The IC community always gives themselves plausible deniability. People who inform for the IC become it's fall guys when the IC gets egg on its face.
It looks more like they wanted some sort of "investigation" on whoever was in the White House. If the Clinton camp would have printed up a couple million more votes in 2016, we could have had the Clinton email investigation resurface in 2017.
The surprise happened because local agents outside d.c. threatened to go public. Comey sat on the information for weeks.
This is my assumption too. Fbi and cia need to be disbanded.
Interfere in the election or we will. That sounds like a crime. Do this or we'll leak it. Are you fucking kidding me?
She committed a known crime dumbass. Comey was actively hiding it. They wanted to start investigating. They were not allowed to do so, such as bringing people in.
What don't you actually get?
Everything. Strudel is exceptionally stupid.
"She committed a known crime dumbass...
shitlord is not nearly bright enough to understand that.
We’re way past that. The entire democrat party has to go.
Remember the swamp and vote accordingly.
