Brickbat: This Ain't It, Chief

Two women have sued Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, Police Chief Chris Griffin, saying he sent them a series of sexually explicit, racist, and otherwise inappropriate images while at a law enforcement conference. The women reported the images to the head of the South Carolina Police Chiefs Association, who revoked Griffin's membership and reported him to Sullivan's Island Town Administrator Andy Benke. According to the lawsuit, the town took no action against Griffin. Town officials refused to comment on the lawsuit.

This isn’t a brickbat.
This is a man who apparently has a malfunctioning mojo.

I agree.
Plus, if not acting as a government official, does the government really have to take action if he is hitting on someone who is not interested?
Isn't their rejection enough?

Uh-huh.
They want some town to pay for their lifestyle instead of each of them actually being productive.
After say uncomfortable message #2, each of them should have blocked him. And/or responded with, “No. I don’t like these. Please stop sending.”
This is why Europe laughs at us.
I'd jury nullify any claim with IIED - intentional infliction of emotional distress - as a predicate, on principle.
You don't have a right not to have your feelings hurt.
A cop made a pig of himself? Wait, I’m a little fuzzy on this one…
These women are trying to swinedle him. Like hogs at a trough.
So this is all hogwash?
a series of sexually explicit, racist, and otherwise inappropriate images
I suspect these are what the kids these days call "memes". He sent them a series of funny pictures with funny captions. He forgot women generally have no sense of humor.
Both Ward and Gooding were working at the conference and laughing at a picture on their phones when Griffin approached them, the civil suit said.
Griffin asked to look at the picture and then offered to send them some more. It was unclear in the lawsuit what image the women were laughing at when Griffin approached, but Gooding allegedly took Griffin’s number and added the chief to a group text message with Ward.
Without the original image, kinda hard to judge him too harshly. It would be hilarious if they thought they were looking at pics of eggplants or unusually shaped gourds, completely unaware of the connotation.
It was a lawsuit honeypot.
The Chief should be fired for falling for it.
Seems as if this poor bastard wandered right into a nest of Karens.
"Police Chief Chris Griffin"
His parents, Peter and Lois, must not be happy with him. [jk]
Seriously, though, I'm reserving judgment on this guy. I need to know more about the circumstances, especially seeing the pictures, before I can know if he did anything wrong.
I knew this judge who used to send out dirty pics to a select group of people. Not sure how I got on the list, I certainly did not opt in. Mostly it was joke and memes, but the dirty pics got included too. Then it all blew up when some people reported it. It wasn't sexual harassment, but NOT the kind of thing a sitting judge should be doing.
Another friend, a mere plumber, also posts tittie pics on Facebook (this was before the skin filter). I had to "defriend" him because I browse Facebook at work, and scrolling past a tittie pic could get me fired.
How does this relate to the story? Well there was nothing racist, no harassment, and nothing explicit, just nude pics of women. It does relate in one way: Those in power need to conform to much higher standards than the rest of us. Including cops. So something a plumber does can be construed as something quite different when a judge does it. Or a cop.

Sharing jokes with friends?

Wait, are they supposed to be our betters or not? Does it just have to be one problem or could there be additional problems regarding nudity, (potentially tasteless) humor, and self-righteousness/personal moral crusades?
As I pointed out above, what if a police officer or judge shares a NSFW*?* pic.
Yeah, I disagree with the entire premise.
I do not want someone with power over my life to be living a lifestyle that requires then to pretend that anything beyond a pg Disney movie is beyond the pale.
This is how we get senators feigning horror at fart jokes by teenagers or pubic hair jokes by lawyers.
If you can react with horror about a dirty joke, you shouldn't be on the bench, In a prosecutor's office or behind a badge of any sort.
Imagine some ill-intentioned neighbor calling child protective services with an unfounded complaint about you... And then you get a CPS case worker who thinks that dead baby jokes are intolerably offensive, and finds your 13 year old son's dead baby joke book his uncle gave him.
We need a new category: Not Safe For Bitches.

A security company can use several methods for killing flies, which almost always include the use of insecticides. The biological fight against the infestation of flies, which takes place using other jail birds that eat them, is still very little present in Pakistan and is spreading in some countries of the European and US Community.
