Former Biden Senior COVID Adviser Admonishes Americans for Their Lack of 'Sacrifice' During the Pandemic
Plus: California reopens, the DOJ will tighten its rules on seizing lawmakers' records, and more...

The Biden administration's COVID-19 czar thinks Americans didn't sacrifice enough during the pandemic. At the risk of being unpopular, former White House senior COVID-19 adviser Andy Slavitt knows who to blame for the 600,000 American lives lost during the pandemic: It's you, the viewer.
Slavitt resigned from his position on the Biden administration's pandemic policy team last week and has since been making the rounds to promote his book Preventable. A big part of his message is that had individuals done more to curb their own selfish desires for social interaction during the last 18 months, we would have seen far fewer COVID-19 deaths.
"I also think we all need to look at one another and ask ourselves, 'what do we need to do better next time?'" said Slavitt during a Monday appearance on CBS This Morning. "Being able to sacrifice a little bit for one another to get through this and save more lives is essential."
"Preventing the spread of the disease is really about a couple of simple things; not breathing near one another in large spaces. That's really it if you want to be overly simple about it. That requires a bit of sacrifice and change," he continued in a clip posted to Twitter by conservative journalist Tom Elliott.
Biden's Covid czar, @ASlavitt, says the pandemic wouldn't have been as bad if Americans "had sacrificed a little bit" more.

His comments sparked some heated backlash from folks who pointed out that people did sacrifice a lot as part of that interminable two-week effort to "flatten the curve."

Like True Socialism, True Lockdowns have never really been tried, and any failure of our model is on you, you selfish bastard, because you didn't sacrifice enough… or something. https://t.co/y8gPt5OZVb

Indeed, anyone who remembers the first few months of the pandemic should be keenly aware of how readily Americans heeded the advice of public health officials to stay in their homes. Whole industries shut down. Churches were closed. Traffic volumes were nearly cut in half, and public transit ridership fell over 90 percent in some cities. Weddings were postponed. Funerals were canceled.
Whatever the benefits in terms of lives saved by this extreme social distancing, it obviously wasn't a viable long-term strategy for controlling the pandemic.
The pandemic wouldn't have been as bad if public health officials had realized most people regard in-person social interaction as 'essential', are not bad people for it, and that a strategy centered around expecting them to sacrifice it for months at a time was never gonna work. https://t.co/cPgqfkYE8P

By focusing on the supposed selfishness of the American public, Slavitt skates over the numerous failures of government officials to embrace alternatives to societywide isolation and lockdowns as a means of preventing COVID-19 deaths.
The government screwed up testing, slow-rolled vaccine approval, discouraged masks in the early days, told people to wash their groceries, and closed parks and beaches.
But it is you, the citizen, who did it wrong. https://t.co/oUphysiMb6
— Robby Soave (@robbysoave) June 14, 2021
The U.S. government's initial messaging on masks dishonestly downplayed their effectiveness. Even when officials changed their tune, they were incredibly slow at approving new facilities needed to pump out high-quality N95 masks.
Likewise, federal regulators actively suppressed private efforts to create COVID-19 tests that might have made a test-and-trace strategy workable. It wasn't until December 2020 that the Food and Drug Administration approved an over-the-counter at-home rapid COVID-19 test.
During the height of the pandemic last winter, when some 3,000 people were dying every day from the virus, regulators were still denying approval of vaccines that were already at work saving lives abroad.
Slavitt gives a nod to some of these problems in his remarks on CBS, saying that "we had a set of technical mistakes with the testing and the [personal protective equipment] that we know about."
To prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 deaths this coming winter, however, his advice still hinges, in part, on telling people to just stay inside.
When we practice social distancing, "we reduce the amount of spread pretty dramatically," says Slavitt. "If the variants come back in the fall, as they will, the people who are unvaccinated are going to have to pay serious attention to that and consider getting vaccinated."

California—the capital of COVID-19 restrictions—has fully and officially reopened. Starting today, all businesses statewide will be allowed to operate at 100 percent capacity, inside and out, for the first time since March 2020.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom is also expected to sign an updated order later this week clarifying that employees who are vaccinated need not wear masks or socially distance in the workplace. Earlier guidance from state officials had said they could only go maskless if everyone around them was vaccinated as well.
Not everything is completely back to normal. People attending large events will have to show proof of vaccination. Newsom also has yet to rescind the emergency declaration he used to shut down the state in the first place.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will tighten its rules for when it seizes lawmakers' data, reports The New York Times. The announcement comes after the recent revelations that the DOJ, under the Trump administration, subpoenaed Apple for the records of several Democratic members of Congress as well as reporters for the Times, CNN, and The Washington Post. Former Trump White House Counsel Don McGahn's Apple subscriber information was also subpoenaed.
People who haven't been elected to Congress will have a wait a little longer for the DOJ to start respecting their privacy.

At least favored industries get a five-year plan.
You know who else had a five-year plan?
The enterprise, or is a 5 year mission different from a 5 year plan?
A mission is action, a plan is talk.
Tell that to the survivors of the Holodomor.

With all due respect, Mr. Slavitt, FUCK OFF SLAVER!
Couldn't have been anything wrong with your plans or models. Nope, must be that the rubes didn't do it right. This idea that people can just give up human contact and relationships for months or years is fucking evil.
Drop "with all due respect" and I think your comment is spot on.
Fuckers like this do not warrant any degree of respect.
Hear, hear!
They don't make a baseball bat heavy enough to use in thanking him. Right across the chops.
Then none is due and none is given. That's the beauty of the phrase.
This guy gets it. I really enjoy using it that way.
That particular phrase was created for a reason; the respect due can be zero, but you can't say that to a judge.
Nah, that's part of the joke. Telling him to fuck off is all the respect due to him.
He said "all *due* respect." Since the respect that's due to Slavitt involves bitch-slapping him until his ears bleed, I don't see the problem.
And if you lived in Texas would you listen to the govt and keep your thermostat on 78 this summer?
I live in Texas and no, I haven't. I did change the hours on my pool pump to avoid their peak time, but screw them on the air conditioning. Your post doesn't change the fact that Slavitt is a pompous piece of shit.
Nor that LoS is also.
That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me Sevo.

BOTH SIDES right Jakie?
Up yours, Jacob/Pod.
Slavitt's just being honest about what the political class thinks of the average person. We should sacrifice more. I recommend starting with Andy Slavitt.
Just in my town. A friend had to close his pub. Over 20 years to get the business built but it didn't fit into any of the "approved" ways to work. Closed, not sold, so he didn't get the value out of the business.
Folks who ran a restaurant for over 30 years had to sell at a massive discount to a chain restaurant to get out from under their lease before they lost all their retirement.
A place down the street survived, but racked up 100K in debt to do so but he had poured his savings into opening 2 years ago so it's do or die. These are just the folks I know personally.
Literally, small businesses losing all of the value -- basically their entire life's savings -- because the government is so short sighted it cannot conceive of anything not fitting into one of a few pat categories. It thinks Amazon doing well is the same as the economy doing well, but someone who spent their lives building something they should be able to sell on for a few hundred thousand dollars having to close or take on debt is the ultimate sacrifice.
Any politician who wanted to add MORE restrictions on local businesses last year should have had to contribute the equity in their house or a year's salary to those business owners and employees before they did so. But, no, it's the middle class who had to sacrifice, and sometimes sacrifice the value of their entire life's work. Government employeees kept getting a paycheck, huge companies were allowed to operate (even though Covid spread there)...
Anyone who says we didn't sacrifice should fuck himself with a dull, rusty chainsaw.
"Literally, small businesses losing all of the value — basically their entire life’s savings — because the government is so short sighted it cannot conceive of anything not fitting into one of a few pat categories..."
No, it's not short-sighted at all. You are assuming that destruction of small businesses wasn't one of the goals.
This isn't an accident. Or a mistake. Gutting the middle class to make them dependent on government/MegaGloboCorp is. The. Point.
This ^. A large and vibrant middle class is the backbone of a stable economy, which is not compatible with central control.
Also, wrt Slavit...why is he rockin' The Harvey for his grooming guide? I can only imagine that being popular with the "tied up and in my basement" crowd.
Which might be working for him, I dunno...

I dunno, it seems like a reasonable thing to me.
In order to avoid another Covid outbreak, we're going to have to sacrifice Slavitt to Moloch.
*gets out the obsidian knife*
These public health morons actually believed that we could contact trace and quarantine away a disease with an up to two week incubation period that had mostly asymptomatic carriers. The level of stupidity of the "experts" is absolutely astounding.
Some 7 million Americans are behind on their rent...
They're still banking on landlords being lined up in the coming people's revolution.
When you tell people they can't be evicted, they tend to stop paying.
It's like when a teacher tells the class that an assignment won't be graded and then is shocked when only two people do it.

The Biden administration's COVID-19 czar thinks Americans didn't sacrifice enough during the pandemic.
Suffering for the sake of suffering. How very Calvinist!
If Americans hadn't been wearing such short skirts, then covid wouldn't have raped them as hard. Totally the victims fault. Science.

Didn't someone yesterday try to claim that Florida is the most libertarian state?
https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/2021/06/14/anna-paulina-luna-says-potential-political-opponents-conspired-to-kill-her/
Anna Paulina Luna, a candidate for Florida’s 13th Congressional District, has obtained a stalking injunction against one of her soon-to-be opponents, saying he and two other potential candidates conspired to kill her.
And what about the mentally ill ramblings of a radical left wing psychopath would change anyone's opinion about that? After all you still support the Clintons despite 50+ murders and mysterious suicides surrounding their inner circle, one of which just went off last week. Obama would have lost his election for senator if not for leaking the sealed divorce records of his opponent and running unopposed. Should we shit our pants with every accusation by your radical Marxist psychopath brethren?
Holy shit.
Florida is actually the worst-run state in the country. By any objective measure, DeSantis had the most disastrous pandemic performance. (Andrew Cuomo's New York had the best.)
#LibertariansForCuomo
Well it ain't California.
The Golden State has no peers when it comes to expanding GDP, raising household income, investing in innovation and a host of other key metrics.
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-06-14/california-defies-doom-with-no-1-u-s-economy
I have frequently praised California — especially its highest-in-the-country poverty rate — as the model for what we Koch / Reason libertarians should want for all 50 states.
It doesn't a rocket scientist hobo to figure out Cali is where you want to be.
Take, fuck
Don't worry Jakie, we know you're incredibly stupid and nearly illiterate.
But watching Sullum's sock agree with OBL was comedy gold.
Strazele, if things are going so well, why are people fleeing? The lockdowns were amazing for California because multiple large technology firms that are based there went from large institutions to practically the only institutions in the country. However, my area is filled with former Californians who say how glad they are to be out of there. Professionals with good jobs who are now buying boots and stetsons.
Same here except buying Sorels and Duluth Trading.
Mormon Bob muted me because he doesn’t want to hear the truth about his church.
But Mormons are all about “free agency?”
“Free agency” doesn’t apply to non Mormons I guess.
Mormon Bob will burn in hell for worshiping a perv
Sorry, dude, that joke doesn't work. There has to be some degree of plausibility. What you are saying about Cuomo is just too absurd.
Are you even more stupid than we imagined?
It was you, wasn't it? Why are you stalking this poor woman?
Probably as accurate as all your other stories.
"Didn’t someone yesterday try to claim that Florida is the most libertarian state?"
Doesn't jeff make up new lies every day, attribute them to 'someone', and then claim to rebut them?
Poorly rebuts them, too. What does this story even have to do with Florida being libertarian?
Jeffy’s gotten as broken as sarc.
Haha. Yeah, one stalker definitely fucks up an entire state. Hell, the states of Utah and Idaho are on high alert (lockdowns?) just because of our notorious stalker, KARen. (Who apparently needs attention cuz he thinks everyone muted him, but they’re likely just ignoring him).
Anyway, what was your point?
“Anyway, what was your point?”
That he’s a lefty.
You flatter me!
In reality I’m quite stealthy. Those perv worshippers won’t see me coming.
So which shithole suburb of Portland do you live in?
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will tighten its rules for when it seizes lawmakers' data
We're not even pretending any more that there's equality under the law and that some animals aren't more equal than others. The same people who hide behind razor wire fences as they declare that walls don't work and want to defund the police as they surround themselves with troops are intent on fomenting a race war over "white privilege" as they ensconce themselves as American royalty. We know where the privilege lies.
Did it say anything about perpetrating surveillance on presidential candidates and their campaign staff?
And what the coffee boys?
Incoherent Jacob.
If Trump didn’t want his campaign investigated maybe he shouldn’t surround himself with shady characters?

It's funny how quickly we can expose the progressives' stupidity by bringing up some really basic facts.
I've known Democrat leaning rednecks who wouldn't have stuck their foot in their mouth like he did.
Is that Shrike?
I don't think it's turd; there are plenty of 'em to go around.
Because the FBI used testimony it knew to be bogus to get a FISA warrant isn't Trump's fault.
Because the Democrats looked the other way when the FBI was on an unconstitutional rampage, wasn't Trump's fault either.
Do you blame rape victims for their problems, too?
Of course he does.
Could be a new slogan for one of the news networks?
"CNN: Where the privilege lies!"
Dual purpose too!
"And the lies are privileged!"
"A big part of his message is that had individuals done more to curb their own selfish desires for social interaction during the last 18 months, we would have seen far fewer COVID-19 deaths."
This isn't surprising. This isn't an aberration. Examples of this progressive thinking aren't even close to being confined to the pandemic.
Progressivism is all about using the coercive power of government to force us to make sacrifices for what they see as the greater good, and it's central to every aspect of progressive thought--from the pandemic lockdowns and the Green New Deal to Medicare for All and our free speech rights.
Ultimately, this is why progressives are America's most horrible people.
exactly and they will use " sacrifice for the greater good" to fight global warming
And a whole lot more suicides and deaths of despair.
Progressives will never be satisfied with just taking all of your possessions. They also want to destroy your spirit. This asshole Slavitt perfectly illustrates this point.
May he and his family never lack syphillitic chancres and lepers.
Yeah, in the progressive mind, you need to want to sacrifice for others like not being racist isn't good enough.
"Ultimately, this is why progressives are America’s most horrible people."
They are so awful we had to throw our support behind an orange-skinned, scurrilous grifter.

That and politicians that didn’t follow their own rules.
Interesting that Slavic is claiming the American public hasn't suffered enough when just a few months ago he was praising Biden's relief effort as help for the American public who had been "suffering" in "almost unprecedented" ways. Almost unprecedented suffering wasn't suffering enough, you fucking psychopathic sadist?
To prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 deaths this coming winter, however, his advice still hinges, in part, on telling people to just stay inside.
Yeah, I'm sure it's just a coincidence that respiratory illnesses climb in the winter time as more people stay indoors due to the cold.

Too readily, as it turns out.
See, here is the problem with trying to ban CRT.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/critical-race-theory-invades-school-boards-help-conservative-groups-n1270794
So this school has a discussion about race in the wake of George Floyd's death. They weren't teaching CRT. But the parents thought it was, and demanded it stop, and are now trying to get the school board fired, for the sin of 'teaching CRT'.
That is the problem here. CRT on the right now means "any discussion regarding race that challenges my preconceptions", regardless if it has anything to do with what CRT actually is. School boards are learning a lesson that they should avoid any topic that involves race at all, lest they be labeled a "CRT Marxist" and have hordes of angry parents at the next school board meeting demanding that they be fired because they were stoked by the demagogues at Fox News insisting that they were teaching "whitey is racist".
Is that the end goal here? To have any discussion regarding race removed from the classroom? Treat discussions about race like discussions about sex ed - an obligation that parents can opt their students out of if they choose?
Nope, the goal as you have been told over and over is to end the blatant racism that is happening in CRT classrooms (pre judging kids based on their skin color). That is what the legislation targets and you can read it. It does not prevent discussions of race or cause teachers to "whitewash" history despite what the Atlantic will tell you.
Funny though, that you are willing to look at downstream effects of one avenue, in this case being anti- CRT, and not the downstream effects of supporting it and teaching it (which we have numerous examples of it resulting in direct racism, despite "whitey is racist" not being a bullet point in the CRT handout). Funny how willing you are to explore that avenue while completely keeping your blinders on to the other. Its almost as if you are unobjective, and completely biased toward one side of the argument.
There is a difference between an observation and a judgment.
An observation is, "Blacks are disproportionately incarcerated in the criminal justice system."
A judgment is, "Blacks are thrown in jail because whitey is racist".
To merely observe is not to judge.
In the case of CRT, they are making both that observation and judgement.
cytotoxic knows that, he's just chosen to make radical racism the hill he wants to die on before he changes his handle again.
No. In this case, CRT would say "Blacks are thrown in jail because the criminal justice system is manifestly and systemically racist".
Right, and that's a bunch of manifestly untrue ridiculous racist bullshit.
Furthermore, CRT would elaborate that this is because of white supremacy and white supremacist systems designed and operated by white people to perpetuate white supremacy, and that white people ply this white supremacy even unconsciously such that there is no way for them to be redeemed. It's original sin but without any mechanism for salvation. Which is ultimately why you will fail to convince anyone to go along with your bullshit except at the point of a gun. "You're racist even if you're not consciously racist and you are taking advantage of a racist system developed by racists and perpetuated by racists to increase racism over time and no amount of giving away your money and resources to other races can ever compensate for your racism" doesn't offer anything to anyone who isn't already a self-loathing soyboy beta male faggot like you.
The original sin and no redemption stuff is absolutely at religious nut level at this point.
NPR article recently about how TOM FUCKING HANKS isnt doing enough, and even though I GUESS he could be called non-racist, he needs to be fully anti racist. You see, he just really isnt DOING THE WORK enough.
Im sorry, if Tom Hanks (who btw wrote an open letter bending over backwards for the anti-racists and BIPOCs) isnt making the cut, im sorry, the game is over. No white person will ever be good enough, they will always be guilty, they will never have done "enough work"
"Im sorry, if Tom Hanks (who btw wrote an open letter bending over backwards for the anti-racists and BIPOCs) isnt making the cut, im sorry, the game is over. No white person will ever be good enough, they will always be guilty, they will never have done “enough work”"
-----
Now you get it.
BIPOC is a term that purposefully segregates one race.
Thats it in a nutshell, folks. ChemJeff's OneTrueCRT, that has never been tried correctly, much like Communism. Just random observations about groups of people.
I now trust his Top Men and Womym and Top Transmen that are the real experts here, who achieved their expert status the moment they took the Soros money for their school board campaign. I trust these Top NonBinaries to implement PedoJeff's OneTrueCRT to implement it correctly.
The thing is that chemjeff is deliberately flat out lying about what CRT is.
Above he pretends it's merely "discussion"; "Is that the end goal here? To have any discussion regarding race removed from the classroom?"
Hey chemjeff, is teaching scientific racism just discussion? Nazi racial theories? The Klan's One-Drop rule?
You're so fucking dispicable, Jeff.
Disproportionate to what? To their numbers in the population? If that's significant, then why isn't it also significant that men are incarcerated all out of proportion to their numbers in the population? It couldn't be that they commit more crimes, could it?
why isn’t it also significant that men are incarcerated all out of proportion to their numbers in the population?
Sounds like that is a topic of discussion for Critical Gender Theory.
That was a pretty weak deflection.
Haha. There goes that “radical individualist” again!
Pimping collective guilt and grievance to naive children is exactly what one would expect from such a rad dude.
What the legislation will actually do, I predict, is stifle any discussion about race in the classroom, for fear that irate parents will go to the school board the next day and demand a teacher be fired for breaking the law against teaching CRT because the parents are led to believe by right-wing demagogues that any topic involving race that makes them feel sad is "CRT". Why should a teacher risk all of that time and trouble when the teacher can just avoid talking about race altogether?
Teachers should be scared that they can be fired for teaching our kids garbage. Regardless of the topic.
And they are teaching some absolute garbage.
If they started a phrenology class I'll be first in line to demand their jobs. They dont get to teach trash. CRT is right there with it.
Should the state legislature compile a list of all the ideas that it thinks is "garbage" and make it a crime to teach any of them, in any context?
Or, should it be left to professionals, in their professional judgment, on what is the best way to approach particular topics in the classroom?
Should the state legislature compile a list of all the ideas that it thinks is “garbage” and make it a crime to teach any of them, in any context?
No society should be expected to sponsor its own subversion.
"You can't teach racism in the classroom of the public school because the people who pay your salary aren't into racism" is not criminalizing the discussion of race in any context.
You know how you rabidly supported laws criminalizing therapists counseling their adult, gay patients that they can change their sexual orientation even though it violates the speech rights of the therapist and the medical privacy of the patient? Well, some people think teaching 1st grade children to hate each other based on their race is just as bad as telling a middle aged faggot that he can marry a woman and have a house in the suburbs with 2 kids and a dog.
Dont expect any consistency from the lying POS
Anything you like goes on the garbage pile
Grade school teachers are not professionals, they are babysitters.
And no, they do not get to teach whatever they like to schoolchildren over the objection of the people who are paying them for their services anymore than a physician gets to give his patients surgery against their will.
The Gov doesn't hold a gun to your head and say pay the surgeon, they do that for paying the teacher
You don't pay FICA?
True
It should be left to the parents of the children to decide whether they want their children taught this CRT garbage.
And I'm sure that if the professionals, using their professional judgment, started teaching white supremacy, Jeff would just let them keep at it rather than let elected non-experts usurp those decisions.
CRT is white Supremecy, you see black people are incapable of succeeding because white people are predisposed to be better in the professional world
Why should they be discussing race issues in school? I think it is quite appropriate to avoid topics like that that inevitably become political in schools. There are other venues where young people can discuss and debate these issues. The school doesn't have to do everything. I see no problem with keeping debates about religion, politics and race out of formal classroom instruction in public schools. If public schools are to exist, they need to be politically neutral. And right now you can't get into racial issues without getting political.
Yup. ^
You misunderstand the purpose of public schools. It's not about education it's about political indoctrination
If discussion of race in the classroom is going to amount to anti-racist drivel and “all whites are racist” crap then perhaps it’s best that discussion of race be kept out.
If a philosophy that taught that blacks were inherently evil were to be introduced into the classroom the uproar would be deafening.
Yep, thats the problem with America today, we just dont have enough discussions of race.
Time for an honest dialogue...
We don't have enough HONEST and INTELLECTUAL discussions about race. We have 'discussions' about race that are monopolized by demagogues on all sides. Those aren't helpful and in fact just make things worse.
GFY. You are neither honest nor intellectual
Most of which has been driven by the increasing employment of CRT ideologies within teaching curriculums, especially over the last 10 years or so, although it's been prominent in academia for a lot longer than that.
"We don’t have enough HONEST and INTELLECTUAL..."
This from a lefty shit who constantly lies and is too stupid to recognize it.
No, just by demagogues on one side. The side whose cock is currently so far embedded in your windpipe that you're getting euphoric from the lack of oxygen.
Right. And that's what people don't want in schools.
Calling forf "HONEST and INTELLECTUAL discussions about race" is the equivalent of Mao's calling for a hundred flowers to bloom: a device to trick people into saying what they believe, so that they can be identified and cancelled.
Yeah, but we can trust the schools to avoid that, right Jeff?
To be fair Jeff, you've never actually had an intellectual argument.
What makes you think that honest conversations about race can or will happen in public schools? The reason people want to restrict these things is exactly because the demagogues are setting the agenda.
Also, do some further reading. That school district / superintendent partnered with Community Change Inc. and essentially built their "equity" program around their ideology, embracing them 100%. CCI spends all of their time focusing on white supremacy, systemic racism with a focus on white people. From CCI's website, 5 min ago:
"Community Change was born out of the Civil Rights Movement and in response to the Kerner Commission which named racism as "a white problem." CCI has done what few organizations are willing to do: shine a spotlight on the roots of racism in white culture with the intention of dealing with racism at its source, as well as with its impact on communities of color"
And naturally, this all resulted in the standard "white shame" crap that CRT is subjecting kids to everywhere...predictably. It wasn't "we just want to talk about race!" it was "we need to talk about the problem with white folk".
Cmon man, you have to do further reading, not just repost some stuff that you got confirmation bias from, from a friendly news source. This is basic interneting. Get better at it.
That school district / superintendent partnered with Community Change Inc. and essentially built their “equity” program around their ideology, embracing them 100%.
Where is your reference for this claim?
You can look up the letter, posted by Porter, the superintendent, which references CCI and their ideology multiple times. It is a full embrace and endorsement of CCI, which is an open "whitey is the problem" group. It is no surprise this resulted in the standard classroom struggle sessions and oppressor labeling of white students.
I mean I can give you a hint, google Maine, superintendent, Porter, CCI, letter. That should get you there in like one search. Then feel free to browse CCI's site.
It is no surprise this resulted in the standard classroom struggle sessions and oppressor labeling of white students.
No, that is your hyperbolic exaggeration. This is part of the problem here - that if some group wants to talk about race, or diversity, or equity, then that is "code" for "struggle sessions and blaming whitey".
No, idiot. This is your deflection. If activist public school admins and teachers want to peddle anti-racist, CRT bullshit in the classroom, using material from an organization that says on its own website that racism is a white problem and that "white culture" is the root of racism, that's just "talking about diversity, race, and equity." Stop lying. Stop deflecting. Stop trying to reframe the issue. You all said the quiet part out loud ALL SUMMER LONG last year. You can't unsay it now.
that “white culture” is the root of racism
That is one hypothesis.
Another hypothesis is that racism arises from individual people operating in bigoted ways.
What is so terrible about having a discussion about where racism comes from?
You do realize that "white culture" does not mean every single white person adopts every single trait that is presumed to be a part of "white culture", right? Just like "black culture" does not mean every single black person abides by every single trait that is associated with "black culture".
I know this is hard for you, because you're not smart and you can't post picture in these comments, but I'm going to try one more time:
CRT and all related disciplines- inculding anti-racism- is anti-intellectual nonsense.
Literally NOBODY (except leftist useful idiots such as yourself) are opposed to open exchange of ideas in the classroom. Pretty much every objection to CRT and related materials being taught in the classroom is that it actively stifles free and open discussion. It openly rejects objective analysis and declares any critique as proof of its central tenets. Any academic theory that uses itself as proof of its own correctness is bullshit.
The objection is to CRT and related materials, including the 1619 project (which is objectively and demonstrably wrong in many places), being taught as anything OTHER than an academic theory, ie- as an objective history.
Literally no one is advocating for eliminating or white washing the history of slavery or racism in the United States. I don't know what schools you attended in your youth that did that in their history curriculum, but that would explain a lot about why you are so dumb and gullible.
CRT is bad and sloppy academic theory, it's racist and objectively harmful to students, and it should not have any part in any official, required curriculum in any public school in the United States.
"Any academic theory that uses itself as proof of its own correctness is bullshit."
Yep. Assuming the truth of the thing one is trying to prove is not terribly rigorous.
What is so terrible about having a discussion about where racism comes from?
The CRT supporter's equivalent of "what's wrong with common sense gun control?"
Maine?!? You'd have to cut black people up into one inch pieces to integrate that state.
Oh never mind, it's in the bottom of the article, guess I missed it.
But here's the thing. We have people here all the time claiming that the reason why there are so many social pathologies among communities of color is because of their "culture". "Oh, the nuclear family is not common in black culture, that is why X disparate outcome occurs for blacks vs. whites". Is it racist to discuss "black culture" in this way? If not, then is it racist to discuss "white culture" in similar ways?
Criticisms of Black Culture are not taught in public school, you fvcking nitwit, though they damn well should be. It's not the school's place
It's not racist to discuss any of those things. But you will get called a racist if you try to talk about the culture of non-whites. Or if you say too many good things about "white" (actually western, which has included people of all races for a long time) culture.
So that's another big part of the problem. We have these people who want to tell us that discussing race is what needs to happen, but then they refuse to touch certain topics which, in my view, are the ones that actually need to be discussed in order to make any progress. It's fine to focus on issues with the police and problems with racism for a while. But if you never get to the more uncomfortable topics, nothing good is going to happen.
Also have to question the motivations of these people who arent willing to look at things in black culture that COULD make a difference and are overlooked or even shunned by CRT.
Two big ones come to mind: objectivity / exactness / correct-answers being a "white" thing, and the nuclear family being looked down on as a white thing, where as the ideal family system is a village/community (to these people). These "white" things are all objectively how you build wealth and success.
You can make the argument that the criminal justice system, much of which was put in place by whites, caused this breakdown of the nuclear family (in part) for blacks by incarcerating so many unnecessarily for petty crimes. But the correct answer is to make that right, and rebuild the nuclear family within the black community as we know it builds success and wealth, stability. Instead it is shunned by CRT (and BLM, as an aside). Why? Do they want blacks to have worse outcomes? To keep a spiraling cycle of worse outcomes followed by the need for more CRT followed by worse outcomes? I dont get it.
This concept of "the village" is just horseshit. It sounds all good and touchie feelie in the academic setting, but when it comes down to it, everyone in the "village" (community) has a life, their own kids, their own shit, their own jobs, and we dont live in a bunch of huts by each other. So you rely on your parents to do that work for you in the modern world, the village is a concept that aint happening. And having 2 parents almost guarantees a better outcome than 1. So why are they pushing this philosophy that almost guarantees blacks will do worse rather than trying to strengthen the nuclear family? Its bad because whites and asians do it? Is that all they have?
Why? Do they want blacks to have worse outcomes? To keep a spiraling cycle of worse outcomes followed by the need for more CRT followed by worse outcomes? I dont get it.
Kinda looks that way to me. I don't get it either. My best interpretation is that the philosophy behind CRT says that everything comes down to power relationships. And they want the power. So whatever they need to do to get it is justified and individuals can get fucked.
As for the village thing, I actually think it does take a village. But I mean a real community and not some busy body assholes who think they know what's best for your kids. And it doesn't mean the nuclear family isn't also good. I really think that many problems now have something to do with the lack of extended family and real community that used to be much more central in people's lives.
With regard to "taking a village", I remember very clearly my mother meeting the parents of my friends. Every single time she would give them permission to beat me silly if I did something stupid. Then when I got home I'd get whupped again by my mom.
I don't think that's what they have in mind these days 😉
rebuild the nuclear family within the black community as we know it builds success and wealth, stability.
In the system that currently exists, that's right. But why is the system set up the way it is such that THIS is the way to success? CRT would say that white people set up a system in which if you do white people things, you get ahead, but if you don't do white people things, you don't get ahead, and that this is an example of 'white supremacy'. I personally don't think it is due to race per se. But it does raise the question of why the path to success is relatively narrow. Why can't it be the case that, statistically speaking, all else equal, a person from a single-parent household can't be as successful as a person from a two-parent household? Are there *structural* reasons within the system that exists, that privileges two-parent households over single-parent households, and *that's* a big reason why success rates differ? If that is the case, then we should look at whether that ought to be the case or not.
As an intellectual exercise, fine, think about other ways society might be set up. It's an interesting thing to think about.
But if you are going to propose getting rid of traditions and systems that have worked reasonably well for a very long time, you need to be damn sure that you have something to replace it with that won't be worse. The traditional family isn't something that was imposed on people. It's largely biological reality, and the human institutions that have been put on top of that continue to exist because they are effective.
We live in the most peaceful and prosperous society that has ever existed. You don't just throw away the all of the traditions that is built on because some academic thinks they have a better idea. And that seems to be the project of the critical theory idiots.
But if you are going to propose getting rid of traditions and systems that have worked reasonably well for a very long time, you need to be damn sure that you have something to replace it with that won’t be worse.
Keep in mind, he was claiming the other day that America's history of racism wasn't taught in schools until just recently, as if the people who complained about "Honky America" back in the late 60s and early 70s, and marched on campus chanting "Hey Hey Ho Ho Western Civ has got to go" back in the 80s, weren't doing just that to generations of school kids and college students once they became teachers themselves.
It's not very interesting at all. Some incredibly horrible experiments carried out by Communists pretty much proved the efficacy for the Nuclear Family, and not the state, to raise children and care for each other.
I contend that the fact that people are still thinking about it shows that it is an interesting thing to think about. For some people anyway. Depends on what interests you, I guess. And you can't rule out the possibility that there could exist a better way for society to organize itself. It's just that if you try to impose it on people, you are evil.
So you are saying only white people have traditional nuclear families?
Yeah, even the claim that the nuclear family is some white/western imposition is pretty fucking racist.
Prior to L. Butcher J.'s Great Society the majority of black families had two parents. That asshole made it lucrative for single women to have multiple kids as long as the man was no where near.
I wouldn't say "lucrative," but it certainly incentivized single parenthood. Why should Dad stick around if the government is going to foot the bill for food and rent?
And yeah, the Great Society absolutely obliterated black families. Out of wedlock births were around 25% before it passed--not great, but still the vast majority. Now it's 75%, but god forbid anyone other than Moynihan ask the pertinent question as to whether making the black community reliant on handouts might have actually increased existing dysfunctions.
Someone calculated the value of services and payouts that were available to welfare recipients. They valued it at $41 an hour. That included discounts for cable, phone and utilities. That was even before
Obama's first term.
Yeah, cite an authoritative source on Critical Race Theory like the American Bar Association like cytotoxic here did. Didn't you know the American Bar Association is the final authority on what our TRUSTED PROFESSIONALS teach in grade school classrooms?
Jeff, I want to sincerely thank you for becoming this comment section's leading defender of CRT. You're absolutely right — the real problem is conservatives seizing and pouncing on this highly rigorous area of academic research.
#LibertariansForCRT
#LibertariansForRacialPreferences
#LibertariansForReparations
Oh fuck off. I'm not even defending CRT itself. I'm defending free inquiry and liberal (small-l) education. Do people here want students who are taught "patriotically correct"? Do people here want students who are taught "politically correct"? Or do people here want students who are taught to think for themselves? You won't get students who think for themselves if you ban ideas that you don't like. You will instead get students who robotically repeat what you want them to say. Is that what you want?
Oh no! Did you misread my comment as sarcasm? Unfortunately sometimes tone doesn't come across well over the Internet.
Let me assure you, I literally meant every word. For the past several days I've clicked on the Roundup with renewed enthusiasm, anticipating your latest passionate defense of teaching Kendi and DiAngelo to public schoolchildren. In fact your pro-CRT work even surpasses your ironclad case for allowing convicted terrorists and serial killers to vote while behind bars.
#LibertariansForAbolishingStandardizedTests
#LibertariansForPreservingSerialKillerVoting
As usual jeffster digs his hole sits in it and tells everyone else to fuck off he's the only rational one in the whole world.
Piss off fatty.
Oh fuck off. I’m not even defending CRT itself. I’m defending free inquiry and liberal (small-l) education.
LOL--you're not defending anything of the sort. You've dishonestly portrayed this debate as "CRT vs. Reel Muricanism" and blatantly lied that racial issues in this country were never discussed in the classroom until recently.
I realize you live in a neighborhood full of leftists and you're just trying to fit in by repeating their shibboleths--"cultural Marxism isn't Marxism," "this isn't what CRT actually is," etc., but no one is actually buying this bullshit.
cytotoxic lives in an almost exclusively white part of an almost exclusively white city in an almost exclusively white province of the almost exclusively white country called Canada. When he threw a fit and left his old handle when Hillary lost he was about 7 and a half years into an undergraduate degree and living with his parents.
POUNCE!
State legislatures should not be micromanaging curricula, ANY curricula, whether it is about race or not. That should be left to state school boards and local school boards, i.e., professionals.
If a teacher teaches a controversial topic in an inappropriate way, then that is a teacher problem, not a topic problem.
If a teacher teaches a controversial topic not in an age-appropriate manner, then that is a teacher problem, not a topic problem.
But if a teacher teaches a controversial topic, ANY controversial topic, in an age-appropriate manner, teaches it correctly and with appropriate deference to the topic's controversy and limitations, then no legislature should try to undermine that teacher by forbidding the topic. We need more broadly educated students, not fewer. Trying to forbid the topic IS indoctrination in this case.
What is the age-appropriate intro to Marxism? Eugenics? Homeopathy? Flat-Eartherism?
Ww know 6000yr 7-Day Creationism is appropriate for preschoolers.
"But if a teacher teaches a controversial topic, ANY controversial topic, in an age-appropriate manner, teaches it correctly and with appropriate deference to the topic’s controversy and limitations, then no legislature should try to undermine that teacher by forbidding the topic."
No legislature has so far. Read the bill. All it says is you cant tell a kid they have X characteristics because they have Y skincolor. That's the gist of it. You know REAL anti-racism, not the Ibram X Kendi bullshit variety. So far the legislation says you cant be a blatant open racist. Sorry that the CRT folks are having such a hard time with this one.
No legislature has so far. Read the bill.
Why would chemtard radical deathfat do something like that? It's a lot easier to just parrot what he picks up on reddit, along with Black Daily Stormer-type sites like The Root.
But without any input from the public, of course, as you just said that campaigning against school board members for supporting the teaching of radical racism is an affront to all that is good and right in this our cherished democracy.
Maybe you're just a stupid, lying, fat piece of shit.
I'm not a populist. I don't trust the mob to decide on a proper curriculum for an entire school district. I trust parents to know what is best for their own kids. I don't trust parents to know what is best for ALL kids. The ideal solution here is school choice - have a diversity of schools offering a diversity of curricula that parents can choose among.
Maybe you’re just a stupid, lying, fat piece of shit.
And instead of advocating for that you advocate for the teaching of radical racist bile to 6 year olds because until we achieve universal homeschooling we should at least have a top-down system where parents and taxpayers who pay for the schools do not get any input in what is taught there.
Maybe you’re just a stupid, lying, fat piece of shit.
I have advocated for privatizing the schools for a long time now.
You also claim to also advocate for an end to the welfare state.. Yet 99% of your time here is pushing socialism and leftist ideology. And you claim people are racist for such things as end the welfare state first or privatize the school first before allowing open borders and indoctrination. Because you really aren't against those things, you just lie about it.
"I have advocated for privatizing the schools for a long time now."
You have bullshitted about many, many subjects; why should anyone believe that particular bit of bullshit?
In my state (and probably in most others), local school boards are chosen by the people. In that case, Jeff probably thinks they have no business second-guessing the teachers in the classrooms. So whether they want to teach CRT or white supremacy, the elected non-experts should back off and let the professionals do their jobs.
>>state school boards and local school boards, i.e., professionals.
elected. professionals generally carry a license to profess.
Oh the shit shock horror! A local school board being held accountable by the parents who pay for the school for teaching their kids idiotic Nazi bullshit.
I know I'm late to the party...but the devil is in the details. NBC throws out this sentence:
When the Gladwyne Elementary School in the suburbs of Philadelphia decided to teach students about the concepts of racism, privilege and justice during the last week of classes,
So how exactly? And in Elementary school? And to what end?
This is what the debate is. A lot of what is "taught" is not always just "hey kids, let's think about ..." or "hey kids, did you hear the story about". These are young impressionable children who may be being taught all sorts of things that are debatable. You think a third grader is going to debate Systemic Racism?
Does that mean it should be banned? No. And that's not what the "anti-CRT" bills do. HOWEVER...what's going on in schools right now should be scrutinized. Closely. These teachers have been found to be instilling principles/ideas that are frankly awful. Is talking about race awful? Class? No. But to third graders? Quite debateable.
Public schools in the Jim Crow south were merely teaching students the concepts of racism, privilege, and justice as well. Someone's conception of them. If cytotoxic were consistent instead of just a cut-rate sophist he'd have no problem with a school district teaching first graders that niggers are subhuman libidinous farm machinery as long as the administrators, PROFESSIONALS and TOP MEN agreed with that assessment. But he's not actually interested in "academic freedom" in the teaching of 2nd grade social studies. He just wants an excuse to brainwash small children into his race-obsessed death cult.
These teachers have been found to be instilling principles/ideas that are frankly awful.
If you don't think specific teachers are doing a good job, then make that argument. But that is not an argument against any specific topic being taught, that is a question of basic competency.
It is not fair to teachers, or to any professional, to hire them to do a job, and then to stand over their shoulders all day micromanaging them and second-guessing their every decision.
But that's the thing. How you teach about "racism" to third graders is not necessarily a teacher specific thing. Should you? How should the curriculum be structured? What should it say? What should the goal be? And then how do you evaluate teacher performance?
So again, the devil is in the details. And the fight at the local level is mostly about curriculum content and the perspectives on race that are being expressed. And I would argue that even discussing "racism" with 8-year olds is debatable because it does more to reify the concept than to move past it.
The best way to "teach" racism is with classics like To Kill A Mockingbird.
And even that is a High School exercise. When kids are more mature and are able to have a reasonable intellectual discussion.
You don't talk to Elementary school kids about Black with a capital B. You don't talk about "Equity" as if it's clear that's a obvious desired goal of the Universe. The "anti-CRT" legislation doesn't address these. But that's the debate that's happening in real time in our schools right now. A debate over ideological instruction in public schools of our children.
And many of us are fed up.
Agreed.
And be a rape apologist? No thanks.
#believewomen
If anyone is truly "colorblind", it's young children. I find it disgusting that people are trying to push this on kids.
I really think Morgan Freeman was onto something. Stop talking about it so much. We really are at a point where there could be a real generational change in how race works in our society. And these race hustlers don't want that. They want to keep racism alive. And the best way to do that is to keep it front and center in as many minds as possible, especially young people. Makes me sick, really.
We really are at a point where there could be a real generational change in how race works in our society. And these race hustlers don’t want that. They want to keep racism alive.
The time for that passed in the early 2000s. There was a very brief window in the late 90s where we seemed to be on the cusp of evolving into a society that, while not color-blind in the technical sense that a black person is obviously black and white person is obviously white, could have been so in the cultural sense, where no one would really give a shit about a person's race as long as they could do the job or were decent people. There would always be idiots, but no one would really pay attention to them.
But intersectionality and cultural Marxism was fully embedded in academia by the early 2000s, and Gen-X and Millennial professors pushed the Overton window to the point that race (and, to an increasingly equal extent, gender) is all anyone in the cathedrals thinks about now.
It was the same thing with the Alphabet People--"Oh, who cares, it's not hurting you any! All we want is to be able to marry each other and be left alone, we're not out to corrupt your kids!" Now you have attention-whoring nutcases like Ellen Page claiming that not letting children go on hormone blockers when they're in kindergarten is permanently harming them.
And of course, when you point out the socio-cultural harms that indulging these mental illnesses cause, whether it's blaming whitey for everything or denying biological reality, you get called a fascist. Because their child-like emotional development provides them with literally have no other frame of reference other than the false dichotomy of fascism/communism that's been conventional wisdom in American middle schools since the end of World War II.
But it is quite appropriate to stop teachers from teaching racist ideas to children. And to scrutinize decisions about curriculum made by administrators and school boards.
It's rather telling that jeff is getting so bent out of shape about ordinary people pushing back against this.
Fuck off Lying Jeffy.
When are you going to apologize for your lies?
You are really dead set on defending a racist propaganda system built on critical theory... yet you declare yourself a libertarian.
Just because some conservatives may go to far in their REACTION to critical race bullshit, doesn’t mean it isn’t bullshit.
But I wouldn’t expect a normal collectivist like yourself to understand that.
Right, it's the dumb rubes of the American citizenry who didn't do enough; while true leaders like Andrew Cuomo literally wrote the book on pandemic management, right?
Fantastic Time magazine cover.
Biden takes on Putin
Because Russia's attack on our 2016 election was similar to earlier atrocities like Pearl Harbor and 9 / 11, I will support any anti-Putin measures Biden decides to implement — including war.
#LibertariansForGettingToughWithRussia
Ivan and Sergei say bring it on - what does Biden have, Tameeka and Tootsie?
Took on Putin so much, that he wouldn't have a joint press conference with Putin, as is customary during one of these multitude of meetings, AIUI. Then was nearly three hours late to his own press conference, where he promptly got lost trying to answer softballs like, 'Putin laughed when told you called him a killer: your reaction?'
He's a sick old man, who is wholly unable to fulfill the requirements of this office.
The only way to bring this progressive nightmare to a close is divided government–to see the Republicans in charge of one of the chambers in Congress come 2022. We might get there sooner if Joe Manchin decides to switch parties. What will it take to get him to do that?
“It’s not only civil-rights leaders who are interested in the passage of S.1, the Senate companion to H.R. 1, a sweeping piece of legislation that tackles voting rights, gerrymandering, dark money in elections, lobbying, and the Washington influence economy. It also has strong support from some of the nation’s largest labor unions, like the AFL-CIO. One of its member unions that might have some particular significance to Manchin is the United Mine Workers of America. On Monday, the day after Manchin hit the Sunday Shows to continue to lay out his case, such as it is, the UMWA issued a statement reiterating the union’s support for the bill.”

He’s presumably a Democrat because West Virginia was going back to the days when coal was so important, which wasn’t so long ago. The United Mine Workers were the key to getting elected back then, but when the Democratic party went full bore on global warming and hatred of rednecks, West Virginia went hard to the right.
The United Mine Workers’ union is probably more apt to go to the right than the AFL-CIO. They might need to drop out of the AFL-CIO before they could back a Republican in West Virginia. But the West Virginia voters have gone so deep red, in spite of the unions, I’m not sure what the United Mine Workers or the AFL-CIO says really matters anymore. It's not like coal's about to come back under the Democrats!
Trump beat Biden by 38 points in West Virginia in 2020–68% to 30%. The percentage of West Virginians who voted for Biden is smaller than the percentage of Californians who voted for Trump. Who really cares what the Republican senators in California say anymore? That’s Joe Manchin’s future, sooner or later, unless he switches parties.
You know who else switched parties?!
The answer is Ronald Reagan.
The Republicans should be offering to give Joe Manchin any seat on any committee he wants. If he crosses the aisle, when the committees revert to Republican control, they should promise to support any legislation that’s good for West Virginia that he wants within reason.
Does he even know he’s in the goodie room?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvkuLe-s_po
Umm, thats not how it works. Rs cant promise him any goodies that wont be passed by the House and signed by Biden.
If Manchin were already a R, Schumer could promise him goodies.
The Rs cant even promise he will keep his seat, because even with establishment support, he is likely to lose a primary
They'll need to pass a budget, and not just this year but after 2022, too. Biden is already reluctant to pass a budget without any Republic input, but if the Biden absolutely can't get a budget passed after 2022 without Republican input, the Republicans can promise Manchin some input on that--and a committee assignment he wants.
And a Senator crossing the aisle to change control of the Senate and for a plumb committee chairmanship isn't unprecedented.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Jeffords#Departure_from_the_Republican_Party
Bingo....Give it some time. Team D will continue to heap shit all over Manchin. Then he will say 'Fuck You' when it crosses his line. It is very close to that now. The man is hounded daily about the filibuster, and he is pissed (and that shows).
Trump won 38% MORE of the vote in West Virginia than Biden. If the Democrats have no future in West Virginia because coal is going away courtesy of the Democrats, then Joe Manchin has no political future in West Virginia.
I'm sure he has grass roots supporters in the United Mine Workers, that would be hard to leave behind. He can promise to fight against the Green New Deal as a Republican, and the Republicans in West Virginia may be able to promise him some grass roots support of their own.
But being a Democrat in West Virginia looks like more of a lost cause than being a Republican in California.
It happens in the other direction too. Look up Ben Nighthorse Campbell.
meanwhile allows murkowski and collins to go full dem
"The only way to bring this progressive nightmare to a close is divided government–to see the Republicans in charge of one of the chambers in Congress come 2022."
I would like to see a divided Federal government. Of course, you know who worked the hardest to mess up a divided government coming out of the recent runoff in Georgia: Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Lin Wood, Sidney Powell, and the Pillow Guy.
Stfu Dee.
You ready to die for your inadequacy?
She wore that short skirt didn't she White Mike.
Or did you not notice the open bribery campaign utilizes in the Ga run off with all of the twitter users asking where their money was post election?
A big part of his message is that had individuals done more to curb their own selfish desires for social interaction during the last 18 months, we would have seen far fewer COVID-19 deaths.
This is the type of guy who deserves to be doxxed by the media. So thousands of us can show up to his doorstep and give him some much deserved social interaction to show how much we appreciate him.
Slavitt can go fuck himself.
Newsom can go fuck himself.
Garland can go fuck herself, along with the entire DOJ.
Greene can go fuck herself.
There's a pattern developing here.
The problem with that racist monster MTG is she apologized for making an awkward analogy about how the Holocaust was bad.
Meamwhile, Pelosi thinks Omar and the Hamas Caucus is AOK, and their problem is the lack of an actual Holocaust today.

JUST IN - United States producer price inflation jumps to 6.6% in May, the largest year-over-year increase in history.
Sorry for not replying to you earlier. This news should be front page at this magazine.
6.6% is what they're willing to admit, and that with the fuck-fuck games we know the Fed plays with the CPI basket. Yes, producers, not consumers; same/same.
Guess that's one way to try and repay 28 trillion...
Knew this was coming but I really don't need this shit at this point in my life. Fuck.
Slavitt sounds like the kind of fucking asshole who probably seriously expects us all to believe that China has had a lower raw total of coronavirus deaths than Moldova (population 2.6 million).
“If only you selfish-ass American bitter clingers would just shut the hell up, stop resisting us, do what we tell you, and allow us to turn America into a far left one party communist totalitarian state, we too would have only had 4,600 coronavirus deaths just like our Chinese brothers.“
Fuck you Andy Slavitt, and curse your mother for not strangling you in your crib like she should have.
If ever there was an argument for abortion...
"People attending large events will have to show proof of vaccination."
Yep, that certainly sounds like "fully reopened' to me - - - - - - - - -
and those not vaccinated must still wear mask.. totally open man this is just O'rwell on steroids, words don't mean what they say
The "reopened" economy is only partially planned for the next five years.
Once again Clinton/Obama/Biden schmucks tell us were just too deplorable for them. Clearly we should have just locked ourselves away for months. Because obviously they did so as well.
The loveliness of the 2022 election will be ending of democrat control once again. This of course after they smash everything to hell and force us to pick up the pieces.
Once again, buckleup with an extremely dumb take.
once again a lefty shit too stupid for words.
Once again, shreek the pedophile welcher posting retarded horse shit.
That was funny.
No it wasn’t. Your sense of humor is garbage, Dee.
That was stupid.

Nobody calls your boss and reports you for being too left wing
Back in the day they did. It was called the McCarthyism or the red scare.
Have you been called an uncle or house word yet today?
asshole flag
We just had someone else shot and killed in Atlanta over a mask.
He's not wrong- Americans are selfish af. The biggest sign of this is how big of snowflakes they are when they consider wearing a mask for general health reasons to be the biggest oppression they've had to endure.
Here's a hint:
Fuck off and die, slaver.
shreek here on the other hand is very generous and altruistic. He freely shares his child pornography with his fellow commenters at Reason against their will.
#defundthepolice
Fyi, my understanding is the shooter is very musical, but is carefully omitted from the stories.
Are you implying that a shooting in Decatur, GA might involve a systemically oppressed individual? Unpossible.
Republicans just want people to die.

The Speed Limit 4mph is no longer a crazy exaggeration.
Nothing will be solved so long as we let the system keep these leftist genetic rejects living consequence free.
How often are you called house n or Uncle Tom?
Are all your friends white?
Are all your friends white?
I think Nardz is Romanian by birth currently a U.S. citizen. What is your point? Asshole.
Are you sure?
I got him and Sevo confused once so in my notes it says “Nardz: black, possibly intellectually disabled, fascist.”
He’s free to correct me if he hasn’t muted me…
If you can't see that being forced to cover one's face is an enormous and outrageous imposition, then you lack a brain, a soul, or both.
Muh rights! Can't make me wear a mask! I'm going to smash any business that tells me to wear a mask! Don't be curtailing muh rights!
Yeah, those Muslim women who complain about stuff like purdah and not being allowed to drive are just selfish children. Who are they to second-guess their leaders about how they should dress and behave? Their safety is more important than their rights.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will tighten its rules for when it seizes lawmakers' data
You'd think that this might be one of the very first of Trump's executive orders that Biden would have rescinded on Day One. It was a Trump executive order, right? I mean, no other President would have had the gall to have done such an unspeakable act as to investigate the press, right?
Former Biden Senior COVID Adviser
Former? he's been in office for six months, and awake for only a couple of weeks.
what asshole would buy that asshole's book?
Assholes who bought Fauci pillows.
And his lies.
Fauci pillows?
I hope they were made by My Pillow.
Are you kidding me? I'm reading it right after I read Sonny Cuomo's brilliant treatise on effective government during a pandemic.
I like how you're still pretending that masks work and that it was government lying about it that caused the whole crisis.
Hacks.
I don't know why "there is a virus and it made a bunch of people sick" isn't a good enough explanation of the crisis (though I'd add "and a bunch of idiots and opportunists proceeded to make everything worse"). I see little reason to believe that any of the government response (except maybe the vaccine programs) had any significant effect on the overall damage done by the virus itself. And it all definitely caused enormous harm.
I guess that means they have to concede nothing we did mattered at all, and that would lead to them getting booted from places of power.
There were NOT 600,000 people who died of COVID. That number is artificial. Let's stop repeating that lie.
Well, that many COULD have died, so the number is good enough for the fascists.
And maybe that many died after hearing the word COVID (fact check: Communist Chinese Virus), and that, with a couple of traffic accident or gunshot victims, will add up to 600,000.
There are a potential 350 million Americans that could die from wu flu, doesn't that worry you even a little?
The death rate of human beings is holding steady at 100%.
On a long enough timeline.
"Gerallisimo Francisco Franco is still maintaining his valiant effort to remain dead."
I am sure Andy Slavitt will lead by example and 'sacrifice' all the proceeds from his book to provide a legal fund for Asians denied college admittance due to their race.
> California—the capital of COVID-19 restrictions—has fully and officially reopened.
Except that counties can still override the state. Such as my county. Most restrictive county in the state. Just as a state can override the federal rules, so to can a county override the state, and cities override the county.
And don't forget that the new CalOSHA rules don't come out until Friday. I fully expect businesses to be stuck indefinitely with 50% capacity and universal masking for employees. And even then, individual businesses can override CalOSHA and be stricter if they want. Like my employer. Sigh.
At least for now, you can change employers, change counties, change states.
Nobody likes a whiner.
China lied. WHO covered up. Why should I sacrifice a damn thing? The governments of the world and the worlds elites sure as hell didn't!
It's not selfish to quit a public service position after 5 months in order to sell a book about it?
Would be interesting to trace the ancestry of Slavitt and other progs who wanted us all to not leave the house. You would probably find them all descended from Increase Mather or some other fire and brimstone Puritan.
Yes but Slavitt was a part of the No Mean Tweets Brigade. That's all that matters, in the end.
I am tired of the 'mean tweets' thing already. Can we move to 'mean twits'?
We've been talking about Kamala for a while now.
Those who call for human sacrifice are anti-human.
Looks like the only thing this tool gave up was shaving. Not a good look.
Americans tried to sacrifice on Jan, 06, but they couldn't find any Democratic legislators.
No one seems to recognize the sacrifices made by the peaceful rioters, looters and arsonist that marched through the streets screaming and chanting everyday for months. Those thousands of brave souls that marched through the streets shoulder to shoulder everyday could have been home with the rest of us preventing the spread of the deadly China virus but sacrificed for one of the greatest Black men of our times. And when cameras were running they wore masks. Think of how hot and uncomfortable that must have been. Unlike us they sacrificed and refused to join in with the rest of us that didn't stay away from each other. We know they almost stopped the spread because that is what the Democrats that encouraged them to continue because they thought it would help them win elections told us. So Andy Slavitt has to be wrong about interacting with others.
