Brickbat: Up in Smoke

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration thought they had a major drug bust on their hands. State troopers had found what they believed was marijuana, 3,000 pounds of it, in a U-Haul truck. DEA agents they called in confirmed it, and they arrested Aneudy Gonzalez for felony drug possession. He spent almost a month in jail before lab tests showed the "marijuana" was actually hemp.

So DEA agents are dumb asses with qualified immunity?
At least they didn't kill him or his dog.
Nobody needs 3,000 lbs of hemp.
Maybe he was just going to print copies of the Bill Of Rights, Constitution, and Declaration of Independence, and he wanted them to look authentic.
How would you know?
Hey, don't wanna get busted like a thug? Then don't be hauling rope like a thug. They cops thought they smelled someth'n!
If you give the DEA enough hemp rope, they will gang themselves.
These people are professionals and their time is valuable. I hope he was charged with wasting it.
He did a month in the cooler while they thought about it.
He should be glad they didn't let him keep his phone until they changed their mind...
Surely he'd of got the max [15 years].
Hey at least it wasn't 3000 lbs of oregano
Or tomatoes.
Until incentive exists for troopers and agents to not call *everything* (potential) marijuana this kind of crap will continue.
"Pop quiz, Officer! Is *this* marijuana? If you value your job, choose wisely...."
"He spent almost a month in jail before lab tests showed the "marijuana" was actually hemp."
The "lab" mentioned here refers to individual assessments by PD officials who spent a month "testing" every plant. They were, needless-to-say, rather disappointed with the "results."
