Brickbat: The Cover-Up Is Worse Than the Crime

Granville County, North Carolina, Sheriff Brindell Wilkins has been indicted on two counts of felony obstruction of justice. Prosecutors say Wilkins discussed with another person killing a former deputy who had an audio recording of Wilkins using "racially insensitive language" that Wilkins feared he might release. The indictment says Wilkins and the other person discussed the time and location where the killing could take place.

Unless there's a case where a law enforcement officer was specifically ruled to have committed a crime by discussing a time and place where another law enforcement officer could be killed, I'm sure he's covered by qualified immunity.
Seriously! How was he supposed to know?
Sure, it might be morally wrong...
That apparently only applies to civil lawsuits alleging violation of the Bill of Rights.
So he was scared “racially insensitive” stuff he said in the past might come back to haunt him, but murder somehow would be OK? Good God.
Yeah, he was willing to kill someone over that person having a video of him being racist. Imagine what he would do to someone who had a video of him killing someone...
If you outlaw racism, only outlaws will be racist. Unless you kill all the racists, some will end up being police officers. Then you'll have to deal with outlaw racist police officers.
Honestly, when I consider the the rapacious and relentless typical response of the twitterati and journos to anything that smells racist, I can almost see the logic of the plan.
"The Cover-Up Is Worse Than the Crime"
Was sure this was going to be a Biden story.
Give it time. They still haven't identified the person he was discussing the hit with.
Now that's cancel culture.
Not conspiracy to murder, because …?
That is something...
