Brickbat: Pants-Off Dance-Off

The Israeli state attorney's office and Israeli police say they plan to crack down on lap dancing. They say that, at least in certain circumstances, lap dances are a sexual act and therefore prostitution.

I hope this trend doesn't escalate to the point where Israel passes laws against men and women holding hands. I mean, yeah, lap dances can result in unpleasant consequences, but it's just a bit of harmless fun.
Seriously though, the right to earn a living being sexy is about self-ownership. It's the performer's body. He or she has the right to use it to earn money with erotic art or to keep it modest. Compare that to the typical fireman's calendar. Photographs of shirtless muscular guys suddenly become socially acceptable if the head of a non-profit collects the proceeds for a community chest that gets distributed to neighbors as he sees fit. That scenario is much closer to the cult prostitution that can lead to abuses of power.
"fireman's calendar", "shirtless muscular guys", "community chest"...
I see what you did there.
That's not a lap dance, this is a lap dance.
Would you pay for that dance with reindeer meat?

🙂
Nice, Jerryskids.
You know who else has morality police?
The High Sparrow?
Your wife?
The Papal States?
The Cult of Scientology?
The Jordanian government that banned me from the Temple Mount. It all started when their morality policy at the entrance to the Temple Mount decided that my legs were too sexy ...
Yeah ... it's just like me to return from the Holy of Holies with a story that starts like a Penthouse Forum letter. Happy New Year, everyone. 🙂
Oh my.
first read through, saw TAP dancing...now that would have been an epic brickbat! ah well.
It's one small step to Santa being out of a job.
what are the non-sexual lap dance circumstances?
The best I could find was some table dancing at a Jewish wedding.
I thought Judaism had relatively less prohibitions against sexuality than Christianity? Thus, this surprises me.
Obviously, I'm not Jewish. But, I'm not Christian either.
To hell with all religion! 🙂
When people are asked to use gut instinct to stop real but rare horrors, relying on racial stereotypes and other biases tends to rule.
Is that why the cops pulled a gun on my friend the day I moved him and his babby mamma into my town. It's strange how one of the other regulars at the Wellness Center died of a drug overdoes latter that night in the Wellness Center bathroom.
