Kanye West's Support for Trump Is No Different Than the Average Voter's
Except possibly the bit about "break[ing] the fucking simulation."

Those wondering why Kanye West admires Donald Trump finally got an answer last night when West sat down for an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.
The rapper, who once famously claimed that George W. Bush didn't "care about black people," caused anger and confusion in his fan base when he stated just after the election that he would have voted for Trump. About a month later, West met with Trump at Trump Towers. In April of this year, West tweeted his love and support for the president as well as an autographed "Make America Great Again" hat. Since then, West's wife—reality TV star Kim Kardashian West—met with Trump to ask for clemency on behalf of nonviolent drug offender Alice Marie Johnson. Trump commuted Johnson's sentence in June.
West's interview yesterday began lightly, with Kimmel suggesting that West use his Yeezy apparel to design the uniforms for the president's Space Force. Later, West revealed that his support for Trump didn't actually have much to do with policy, a position that's probably similar to the average person's support for any politician.
"It took me a year and a half to have the confidence to stand up and put on the [Make America Great Again] hat, no matter what the consequences were," West said. "And what it represented to me is not about policies, because I'm not a politician like that, but it represented overcoming fear and doing what you felt no matter what anyone said."
West added that he rather enjoyed when people became upset with him, invoked Galileo's support for the theory of a heliocentric Solar System, and declared that someone needs to be "fearless enough to break the fucking simulation."

I'd say much of Trump's support stems from a desire to "break the fucking simulation".
More like a response to the realization we have been meeting einsteins definition of insanity....
Voting again and again for slightly different shades of corrupt talking heads, who had little interest in making the country better.
Trump did, and still does, say he wants to improve things....and not just the political hot points that gain votes. Time will tell if the good outweighs the issues. But to date...net positive imho.
So West just let everyone know that Trump is the center of the universe.
I miss the days when we didn't know or care about the politics of our entertainers.
I MISS THE DAYS WE DIDN'T KNOW OR CARE ABOUT THE ENTERTAINMENT OF OUR POLITICIANS.
Unless they were sex scandals involving hot women.
Everyone looked the other way when Marilyn Monroe sang to JFK. Times changed slowly. First it was sex. Then we had to know everything about our politicians except for the bills they voted for.
I miss the days we didn't entertain the politics of those we know and care about.
Its only exceptional news because it means that black people are not just straight voting Democrat.
Yeah, back to the days of Charlie Chaplin! Oh wait. Not him.
When exactly do you mean?
You meant Hitler, right?
You Lefties love your fellow Socialist's methodology for bringing the revolution.
TMZ is showing the Kanye-Kimmel segment where Kanye sez he watches porn.
Kimmel: "So, what category of porn do you watch? *laffs*"
Kanye: "*laffing* Umm... a lot of black-on-white."
White Americans never have to search for "white" on a porn website. #WhitePrivilege
(I want to see the twitter storm turn into a tornado as the #WhitePrivilege crew argues with people against the objectification of people of color by the porn industry.)
The Democrats are in such trouble and the Demo-Sheeple dont even realize it. I think the Democrat leadership does.
More and more Black folks and the young silent Majority think Trump is doing well.
White folks don't like it when black folks get uppity.
Democrats don't like it when black folks get uppity.
because I'm not a politician like that, but it represented overcoming fear and doing what you felt no matter what anyone said."
That's actually a core American principle. People should have the freedom to do what they want as long as they do not hurt others, and they should be able to ignore the busybodies without getting a law degree to learn enough to argue with them. Trump has his flaws, but I will point out that he cut back on regulations and set an example that encourages others to ignore criticism.
Whatever he and Mrs. West are doing politically, it got one prisoner out of the pen, released from an excessive sentence.
Now it's time for all those football players to step up to the plate (they have bases in football, right?) and take up Trump's invitation to present the cases of unjustly-incarcerated people.
Kanye West comes from a superstitious family, has a lousy education, and appears to be a delusional dope . . . so, yeah, he's a typical Trump supporter.
