I nominate Raphael for the prestigious Strozk award, which goes to the federal bureaucrat above GS-10 who does the most to remind us that it is lonely at the top because the corporate culture there smells worse than a Walmart full of Trump voters in South Carolina in this heat!
I don't know if 'corporate culture' is the correct term here. Maybe organizational culture.
Potayto potahto, really.
Hello.
He was simply seizing future assets.
Raphael Sanchez - further proof that Mexico is not sending us their best.
We're from the government and we're here to help.
... to help ourselves, that is!!!
In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Robert S. Lasnik of the Western District of Washington ordered Sanchez to pay $190,345.63 in restitution
, which was immediately sent to Mexico.
To build the wall?
Huh?..... A dishonest attorney who works for the government? Whoda thunk it?
Sanchez stole the identities of aliens in removal proceedings and used them to obtain credit cards and open lines of credit he used to buy things.
Hold up, i've been informed that it invariably goes the other way.
In a dramatic twist, Raphael stole the identity of one alien who was using Raphael's identity at the time.
I worked in a branch of LE dealing with a lot of immigration cases and I would have to guess that Raphael was working some special kind of angle here. I mean, with so many of the illegals stealing their identity would be like stealing the least valuable thing they possess. To them, identities are like shiny things crows pick up and fly around with for a little while. Until the US government wises up and at least retina scans everyone at the border (much faster and cheaper than fingerprinting, DNA sampling and so on) and then forces all employers to use E-Verify all of the time then all the paper trail in the world doesn't mean much.
But I never did know everything about this game and it changed fast, especially during the Obama years.
Hopefully, open border people will remove those stolen identities as credit for Immigrants being a net positive to the USA.
What's the fun of being an ICE agent if you are not allowed to commit identity theft against those dirty meth dealers, child rapists, and broccoli pickers?
No comments on the fact the crooked lawyer had to fiddle with other records in order to get the illegals to a place where they qualified for credit?
I would not have thought the 'poor, desperate refugees, fleeing economic disasters' were a good target for identify theft. I mean, it's not like they pay thousands of dollars to get here or anything.
