Sex trafficking is real and can happen to anyone at any age. I was trafficked in my mid 40's. I started hanging out with a bad crowd that I thought were my friends, but they got me hooked on vaping and then one day they took my vape pen so I went to the 7-11 to buy cigs and discovered I was low on cash so a guy there told me he'd give me a cig if I came with him and before I knew it I was in a seedy hotel room and they were pimping me out to men and women. They would beat me if I didn't perform and kept force feeding me vergara or something. I was humiliated but I couldn't speak out because I was too ashamed and thought it was all my fault and I would get in trouble with the police because the registration on my car was expired (mail mixup) and I didn't want to attract any attention. But I survived with the help of some brave people who saved me and helped me get back on my feet and clear up the dmv problems and now I speak out for other victims. Yes sex trafficking is real and can happen to anyone and you shouldn't make fun of it. You could be the next victim!

Child trafficking is a real problem - in North Korea, Central America, and lots of other third world places. It's not a problem in the US. Yes it happens but it's extremely rare. That fact is obvious if you just scratch the surface of most of these alleged cases. The problem is when the government cracks down on free speech in order to 'prevent' it, because that only exacerbates the problem. This article does a pretty good job of exposing that dynamic, maybe try reading it next time.

I'm mostly disgusted with the fact that women voluntarily engaged in sex work are being framed as "trafficking victims" for the purposes of driving prostitution into the underground. It is the most bizarre puritanism.

The root of the entire crusade against paid sex work is jealousy and fear. Western feminists are apoplectic that men can ignore them, and purchase sex or form relationships without them. This isn't even remotely true. Between physical limitations, psychological force of will, and legal oppression, the legal oppression is overwhelmingly the 500 lbs. gorilla in the room. Women performers outnumber men by more than 2:1 in the porn industry and female prostitutes outnumber males (who tend to start younger) on the order of 4:1. The only way you even begin to believe such a notion is if you inherently rob women of the agency to desire sex and/or automatically transfer that desire to men. Certainly, if you brought all the women I knew when I was single together for one night, they could never match my sweet imagination. But most of us, men and women, work through those sorts of fantasies by the time we're 25-30.

The solution is not to suspend the Bill of Rights and mass incarceration, even if your endorphins are telling you that feels right.
