Yes and no.

USPS has fixed costs that are tied to its mandate to deliver first class mail to every residence.

This analysis seems to be based on total volume, not the need for delivery to every address.

The real question is what does USPS charge to deliver a package in comparison to UPS. In my personal experience, UPS is often the better choice.

The fact that USPS has a bunch of other fixed costs that they can't or won't shift to amazon is irrelevant.

USPS seems to be the worst available delivery option with poor on-time delivery and inferior tracking.

I assume that Amazon agrees with me, since they seem to be using USPS less and less. Or maybe USPS just charges too much to compete with UPS.

There was a judge who ruled against Trump's revision of the travel ban, not because of what was in the text of the order itself but because of things Trump had said during his campaign. The left can't even perceive of Trump's decisions, policies, or actions without taking into account the message it sends--and that is why they're so obsessed with the messages he sends via Twitter.

This is the great divide between left and right today. Signaling isn't a distraction on the left--it's the whole ballgame. Neither Hilary nor Obama could have collaborated with Putin to defeat ISIS in Syria--because of the message it would send. They cared more about those messages they send to the American public and the world than they did about defeating ISIS. Why, Putin is hostile to gay marriage and the rights of LGBTQI+. Until he gets on the right side of history, American security interests will just have to wait.

This kind of thinking is so foreign to my thinking, it's hard for me to take it seriously--just like it's hard to understand why people in the media are so obsessed with Trump's tweets.

And this may be true--but those 'record highs' are fractions of a degree usually, while the 'record lows' are usually several and sometimes tens of degrees--why, that record snowfall in Erie, was over a yard greater than the previous records.

And then the new baseline gets ignored the next year to be met with the same 'there were more record high days than there were record cold days." line again--even though the cold record we're starting from is orders of magnitude lower than it was last year.
