    Not even a donut.

      Several hours....

I wonder if they tried the loud music thing. That usually brings them to their knees more quickly.

        barricaded himself in the bathroom

Several hours in a Hardee's bathroom? It sounds like the police were being polite for once and you libertarians are roasting them for it.

I've heard their chicken biscuit breakfast sandwiches are pretty good.

      1. Citizen X - #6   8 years ago

Hardee's does good chicken and they also have tea so sweet it'll hurt your teeth, if you're into that. In less civilized parts of the country they're called Carl's Jr.

        1. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 years ago

Yeah, I have a Carl's Jr down the road from my place, and you're right about it not being civilized--they don't even have the chicken breakfast sandwiches. I have to settle for the Monster Breakfast Biscuit whenever I grab something from there.

    6. gaoxiaen   8 years ago

Pretty terrifying. The scariest thing that an enemy can do is remain silent. Well done, sir.

    7. CE   8 years ago

Still better than taking 72 minutes to open the door on an active shooter with 23 guns and 500+ victims.

      1. mad.casual   8 years ago

In their backhanded defense, he wasn't active for the whole 72 minutes.

Serious question: What is Spain's compelling interest in keeping Catalan? Do they have vast olive oil reserves or something?

Why not wish Catalog good luck and good riddance?

      1. Fist of Etiquette   8 years ago

        You never cede ground.

      2. mad.casual   8 years ago

Do they have vast olive oil reserves or something?

Barcelona. Madrid's the captial and most populous city but the majority banking and commerce is done in/through Barcelona. Even if it didn't fully outpace Madrid, it's the second largest city. You wouldn't expect Germany to just cede Frankfurt or the US to cede LA. OK, the second one might be a bad example. The UK to cede Birmingham.

We aren't talking about Crimea here.

        1. Mike Laursen   8 years ago

Ah. I see. I didn't realize Barcelona is in Catalan.

      3. Jgalt1975   8 years ago

In terms of Catalonia's share of national GDP and economic/financial significance for Spain, it would be roughly the equivalent of New York state and California seceding from the US.

      4. Domestic Dissident   8 years ago

The dream of the globalists and implementers of Agenda 21 is everyone in the world being subordinate to a centralized global bureaucracy in Brussels or something.

To achieve this requires them to operate like Roach Motel, once you join a larger union of some kind, you can never be permitted to voluntarily leave it. Otherwise, the whole model collapses.

        1. CE   8 years ago

They never explain why the Brussels and UN governments can't be directly elected either, all while praising democracy.

How NBC 'Killed' Ronan Farrow's Weinstein Expos?

Addressing a controversy that has been percolating for the past several days in the media ecosystem since The New York Times published its own Weinstein expos??including questions about whether NBC executives caved to the well-connected Weinstein and his formidable lawyers, Charles Harder, Lisa Bloom, and David Boies?Maddow brought it to a boiling point by telling Farrow: "NBC says that the story wasn't publishable, that it wasn't ready to go at the time that you brought it to them."

Farrow fired back: "I walked into the door at The New Yorker with an explosively reportable piece that should have been public earlier. And immediately, obviously, The New Yorker recognized that. And it is not accurate to say that it was not reportable. In fact, there were multiple determinations that it was reportable at NBC."

Scientists Inflated Dead Dolphin Dicks to Simulate Cetacean Sex

Then they pumped the dead animals' penises full of saline solution to make them erect, placed the penises inside corresponding vaginas, and took CT scans to get an in-depth look at what's happening when these animals have sex.

      3. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 years ago

    2. Cyto   8 years ago

Apparently the media has been squashing this for a long time. The New York Times had the story way back in 2004 and killed it after getting pressure from Hollywood bigwigs.

      1. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 years ago

The whole industry is culpable, from the media to the studio execs, all the way down to the staffers that looked the other way when they knew what was going on.

It's probably too much to hope that this causes people to turn their backs on Hollywood entirely, since people are still addicted to their Netflix/Amazon Video feed, but it might be enough to make a lot of normies spend their money on other entertainment avenues.

The best part about this is that, every time one of my left-wing acquaintances tells me they're going to the movies, I get to play spoilsport and ask them, "Aren't you enabling further the exploitation of women by giving them your money?"

        1. Crusty Juggler   8 years ago

but it might be enough to make a lot of normies spend their money on other entertainment avenues.

          1. Red Rocks White Privilege   8 years ago

IOW, we'll see if this sparks a general disgust with Hollywood in general and causes people to cancel their streaming subscriptions, or if its just a temporary "oh this is horrible" and then they continue pumping money into an industry that admittedly exploits women and children, and is enabled by a complicit media.

The sidebar article about our late-night Moral Compasses avoiding making Weinstein jokes was particularly amusing, as was Meyer's rather telling milquetoast comment about everyone needing to take a shower. The author tried to cover for them by suggesting that the story is too gross to make jokes about, but everyone knows that if Weinstein was a Republican rather than a Democrat they'd be raking him over the coals incessantly.

Wonder if that preening sack of shit Kimmel is going to cry for the women that Weinstein abused.

      1. John   8 years ago

This story is just too close to home and too raw to be dealt with on the Jimmy Kimmel Estrogen Hour.

      2. Mickey Rat   8 years ago

Kimmel is part of the entertainment industry and Weinstein is still going to have influence there even if he is officially unemployed.

      3. CE   8 years ago

Kimmel said Weinstein wasn't well known outside of New York and California, that's why he didn't make any jokes about him.

    4. John   8 years ago

There are two things going on here. First, it is the left deciding that it wants the power of sexual harassment and shame back. The left is so hypocritical and so insulated from reality, leftists really didn't think defending Bill Clinton took away their power to go after Republicans who engaged in the same conduct. They actually thought the pussy video would end Donald Trump's chances of being elected. The fact that it didn't came as an enormous shock to them. Now they realize that they are going to have to take one or two of their own down to have any hope of going after Republicans. Weinstein, being one of the most repulsive people on earth and not being very important and a has been was the perfect candidate.

This does tremendous damage to Hollywood. The next time some celebrity gets up and waxes poetic about the evil Republicans anyone not on their payroll will burst out laughing. The leftists who run the New Yorker and the Times know this. The thing is they no longer care. If the opinion of movie stars mattered or helped the cause, Donald Trump wouldn't be President. The willingness of the leftist media to go after this story means that the 25 year marriage between Hollywood and the Democratic party that started with Bill Clinton and fully flowered under Obama is over. Even leftists are going to stop pretending that the opinions of the likes of Matt Damon and George Clooney matter.

Trump keeps making America great again: This was the darkest moment in US soccer history

All the US team needed to do on Tuesday night to clinch third place in its qualifying group and a berth into the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia was win or draw against Trinidad & Tobago, the last-place team in the group.

The population of Trinidad & Tobago is 1.3 million. The population of the US is 327 million. Yet the US team was outplayed and outclassed by the team from a nation about the size of Rhode Island. Trinidad & Tobago led 2-0 in the first half before the US put a single shot on frame.

No more Commie soccer, no more lunkhead football, America will focus its attention on our national pastime. The Yankees will win tonight, advance in the playoffs, and everything will be all right with the world.

Harvey Weinstein: The jokes we missed in 30 Rock, Entourage and from Seth McFarlane

Five years ago there was a line in an episode of 30 Rock that alluded to Harvey Weinstein having a reputation for asking actresses for sexual favours.

It was a quick jab, buried in a wider plot line about show business, but is now being used as an example of how Weinstein's alleged behaviour has been an "open secret" in Hollywood for years.

"I'm not afraid of anyone in show business," says actress Jenna Maroney, played by Jane Krakowski.

"I turned down intercourse with Harvey Weinstein on no less than three occasions ? out of five."

It's like East Germany up in this mug.

After a several hour standoff outside a Liberty, Missouri, Hardee's restaurant, local cops in SWAT gear entered to find the place completely empty. Police had been summoned by Hardee's workers who said a man with a gun had barricaded himself in the bathroom.

An employee wanted to get out of the Hardee's midterms.

Trump envies Putin's ability to shutdown free press:

With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!

To be fair, breaking up NBC and ABC would be better for the media in the long run.

This idea that Big Media is any better than Big Government just because it's in the private sector needs to be reconsidered.

        *facepalm*

        1. damikesc   8 years ago

          It's bad.

As bad as Democrats threatening ABC's license for airing "Road to 9/11"

Apparently you think competition in the media industry is a bad thing.

          1. Agammamon   8 years ago

Have you heard of the internet? I hear they have all sorts of news outlets on it.

      2. Episteme   8 years ago

Imagine how many more medical dramas and cop shows we could fit into prime time if the networks were broken up!

    2. Agammamon   8 years ago

Trump does understand that its a *broadcasting* license, not a 'news' license they have, right? Right?

      1. Episteme   8 years ago

        Something something magic beans?

Nothing on Jerry Brown signing a bill criminalizing speech in California?

We're dropping more bombs in Afghanistan than we have since 2010.

What do you mean "we"? I haven't dropped any bombs in Afghanistan. And I didn't vote for these clowns or the clowns before them.
