Investigators are looking into the mental health and medical records of a Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot an Australian native in July.

A search warrant filed publicly Tuesday shows an investigator with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was seeking investigative background records, including pre-employment psychological exams and unredacted personnel files, of Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor.

Court documents show the city provided investigators with the requested information.

The City of Dallas voted Wednesday to immediately remove a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee from a public park, but the work was abruptly stopped by a federal judge.

The Robert E. Lee monument in Lee Park was created by Alexander Phimister Proctor, a New York sculptor, and unveiled on June 12, 1936, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, according to an op-ed essay in The Dallas Morning News this week by Rick Brettell, a professor of art history at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Mr. Brettell urged the city to move slowly on the question of what to do with the Lee monument, which he said was artistically significant because it is "one of the very few equestrian monuments in the history of art in which a leader shares his monument with someone nameless."

It claims to speak for the marginalized, but it either ignores or attempts to hatefully shame members of marginalized groups who do not subscribe to the ideology.
