Andre Spicer's daughter set up a lemonade stand near their home in London, England. A festival was taking place nearby, so her business was brisk. But about 30 minutes after she set the stand up, four code enforcement officers confronted her and handed her a £150 fine for not having a trading permit.

When I shared our experiences with my cousin who lives in Chicago, he told me this would be a national scandal if it happened in the US.

Only because, in addition to shutting down the stand, Chicago cops would have pocketed any money and shot the unarmed person who had called them to report the stand.

I am pretty sure the Magna Carta did not allow the unlicensed selling of lemonade.
It has very strong protections for the children.

I mean really!
First, child labor is a major no-no. And the thieving lack of VAT collection!
No access for the disabled, no public restrooms for all genders, no serv-safe certifications, no health inspection certificate, no calorie labels, no refrigeration, the list just goes on and on - - - -
And they did not even cite the parents for not only ignoring all the laws, but actually encouraging blatant disregard for the welfare of others. Has the labor party lived in vain???
