Brickbat: What the Fur?

The Berkeley, California, City Council has banned the sale of fur clothing. The ban was spearhead by the Berkeley Coalition for Animals. Coalition founder Jay Quigley says fur is inconsistent with Berkeley's values.

But it's clearly not inconsistent with their values; if it were, it wouldn't sell.
"Their values" include being over-controlling douchebags.
It probably doesn't. I doubt anyone in Berkeley wears fur. Most fur harvested in the US goes to Russia and China. They still recognize it as a beautiful renewable resource over there. But hey, if you think it is more humane for racoons to die from parvo, rabbies, or distemper, rather than a quick death in a trap, go ahead and feel all morally superior.
how about clothing made from human skin? out of bounds?
Your statement has so many logical fallacies within it's meager 10 words, I hardly know where to begin.
how about fuck you and your logical fallacies? how that work for ya, you git?
I think you are probably right, and alot this is where the stupidity comes in. "We don't support this and thus do not support any such businesses. So all of those businesses closed long ago." So once again we are legislating something that isn't even an issue just for the feelz.
That is the real crime. Creating law without reason.
Oh no. How will I figure to use the internet if I want such a thing?
Now it is a graymarket item. It is not that bad.
I see an opportunity for a furrier to offer a line of "fuck the snowflakes" apparel.

They can't sell "fur clothing", so call it something else. I'm sure they can still sell leather sofas and shoes. Why not sell novelty fur pillows that look like jackets, for example?
walking around in my fur lined underpants...I'll show them, or not...

Make it from the hides of aborted individuals. They should be ok with that.
I see many similarities between pro-lifers and the animal rights movement.
Non aggression principle?
Yawn.
California.
So secede already.
or slide into the ocean, whichever you prefer...
I guess the next furry convention is not gonna be in Berkeley.
I stumbled onto a Furry convention in San Francisco. They were tearing down their convention as my group was setting up. Creepy as fuck. The last booth to pack up was the human-on-animal porn artist. Parts of my retina still hasn't healed.
...fur is inconsistent with Berkeley's values.
Feeding the police state, on the other hand...
....fur, like freedom, is inconsistent with Berkeley's values.
We sell fur garments online. 40% of the orders go to CA.
Meh. There aren't any fur stores in Berkeley anyway.
Also true. Hippie feminist chicks are the furriest.
I think we should trap them and resell their hides. Faux beaver or something.
Berkeley was one of the original spawning places of the precious PC snowflakes. They had anti-freedom "values" even then, but never any actual principles.
