Philadelphia Eagles Cut Josh Huff After He Defends His Right to Bear Arms
Huff was expected to remain on the team after his arrest, but was cut after pointing out many athletes carry guns.

Earlier this week, Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff was reportedly pulled over on the Walt Whitman bridge for speeding and having windows that were too tinted, and then arrested for allegedly having a gun with hollow point bullets (illegal in New Jersey, where authorities claim he was) as well as a small amount of marijuana.
Until yesterday, it appeared the Philadelphia Eagles were committed to keeping Huff, who joined the team for practice and who the head coach was expected to play this weekend. But then Huff spoke up about just how silly the brouhaha over his gun possession was.
Huff apologized to teammates for the "distraction" of his arrest, but defended to reporters his right to bear arms. "I'm a professional athlete, what professional athlete doesn't have a gun?" Huff asked reporters. "I have a wife and I have a son at home. My job is to protect them at all costs, and my job is to protect myself as well even though I know I have security here, but I have to protect myself as well."
Huff's argument applies not just to professional athletes but to all law-abiding citizens, whose right to self-defense is supposed to be protected by the Constitution despite the concerted effort to whittle away those rights, especially for minorities and other marginalized communities.
Huff also expressed that he believed everybody else in the Eagles and around the National Football League also carried guns for protection.
"I'm from Houston. You can't trust a lot of people in Houston. There's always somebody out to get you. You've got to protect yourself," Huff explained. "Even when I'm back in Houston, I always have a gun on me, because there's been several instances in Houston where I've lost a friend to gun violence, and he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, so why would I let that happen to me?"
The Eagles cut Huff this morning.
Just last month, Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham was arrested at Miami International Airport after TSA agents allegedly found a loaded handgun in his backpack.
The NFL bans fans from carrying weapons in their stadiums, and last year the Fraternal Order of Police tried to get the NFL to exempt off-duty and retired law enforcement officers from the ban, citing incidents of terrorism at high-volume venues and the security having responsible gun users in the stadium can provide.

Huff was reportedly pulled over ... for ... having windows that were too tinted
RACIST!!
How are those poor cops supposed to know he was Driving While Black, if his windows are too tinted? Not okay.
Tinted windows don't mean nothing they know who's inside
My best friend's ex-wife makes $95/hr on the laptop. She has been unemployed for 6 months but last month her income with big fat bonus was over $15000 just working on the laptop for a few hours.

Another liberty taken from citizens for the convenience of law enforcement.
Why do the tint sellers even apply it when they have to know it's illegal?
It varies by state.
Tint laws are a state thing and they vary widely.
Installers typically apply to the limits for their state.
NJ doesn't allow front side tints at all, and anything behind.
PA (presumably where his car is registered) allows 70% tint on side windows.
Decent cops let out of state drivers/vehicles slide.
Decent Imaginary cops let out of state drivers/vehicles slide.
FTFY.
Window-tint laws are typically state, county, or even city laws. What is legal where you purchased the car, or where you live, may not be legal where you get pulled over.
Just like New Jersey is the only state that bans hollowpoints, with an exception, AFAIK, for NJ law enforcement.
Does NJ ban hollow points for handguns only? Don't most states require hollow points, or some kind of expanding round, for hunting?
In NJ you can only hunt with muskets as the Founding Fathers ment.
Do states really regulate "street legality" like that for cars that are passing through them, as opposed to cars that are registered in them? I'd have thought no.
I know someone who bought it himself, and managed to pass inspection for a few years by going in with the windows rolled down.
I had 5% on the sides and 20% on the windshield for years. I just rolled the windows down halfway if I saw a cop. Never had a problem.
wait no, 20% on the sides and something much lighter on the windshield
Tinting the windows is perfectly legal. It's the customer's problem if he wants to drive it.
Tinting the drivers window is not perfectly legal. The only purpose is so that you cannot be identified if you pull something. Fuck that.
It's the driving with tinted windows that's illegal. Tinted windows in your garage is perfectly legal.
The only purpose is so that you cannot be identified if you pull something.
Nope
Yes. Why else are you driving with tinted windows. Tinting the drivers side window is illegal is to prevent you from being identified.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. The obvious reason is to protect the interior of the car from damage caused by sunlight as well as to gain the benefits of wearing sunglasses without having to wear them in the car.
Only party sarcastic. In CA you can tint the back windows but the drivers side you cannot. The reason is so you can be identified through the window. If you don't like that, tough shit.
People knowing break the law then bitch about getting a ticket, cry me a river. You arn't some special snowflake that gets separate protection.
Reminds me of an old neighbor who would take off his cat and put it back on for smog, then got busted for not having his cat on.
In CA you can tint the back windows but the drivers side you cannot.
The Land of Reasonable Regulation
People knowing break the law then bitch about getting a ticket
Who is this? Everyone I've ever known with illegal tint priced the cost of tickets into the decision.
In CA you can tint the back windows but the drivers side you cannot
CA allows 70% VLT on front side windows actually
You have not seen he newer cop cars that are tinted so darkly you cannot see the cop?! It is a BS law, The last warning I got was two weeks before the same windows became legal in Illinois! It was a small town cop. He got to see them a lot after that warning ticket!
Why else are you driving with tinted windows.
So I can pick my nose whenever I want.
Yeah, it couldn't possibly be to block the sun when you're driving parallel to it at sunrise or sunset.
Only terrorists don't want to be blinded by the sun... are you a terrorist.
I certainly hope that was sarcasm.
When you say "the driver's window" are you referring to the windshield? Because if you're not, you're wrong:
You may tint your vehicle to 24% VLT for the front doors of any SUV. The back half can be any darkness you prefer. As for passenger vehicles, you may tint up to 24% on all windows except the windshield.
Been pulled over before for tint issues. Tint standards are rarely subjective, but predefined (10%, 20%, etc.) in whatever Tint Act applies to jurisdiction in question.
Just ask for bolometer reading on the tint. Cop never has bolometer, is usually surprised/mildly irritated you know what one is and know the score about tint, and unless you're driving complete murdered-out ride, they won't trust their own eye enough to write ticket. Warning every time.
I do wish that cops crack down on those tinted driver windows. That's fucking illegal and you think you are special and that the rules don't apply to you. Like BMW drivers who don't know how to use a fucking turn signal
...this is a gag, right?
Tulpas tend to stick in your craw, which can cause some gagging, yes.
This. That guy is fucking awesome.
As an old friend once told me: never commit more than one crime at the same time.
(I know that may be impossible, but still, you get the point.)
Those three felonies a day aren't gonna commit themselves.
I only count one civil infraction. The other 3 should be legal.
"Should's" got nothin' to do with it.
*spits on ground*
We're here to check the tinting on your windows.
America!fuck Yeah !
Laws don't apply to me, fuck yeah! Ima tint my driver window anyway despite the only reason I'd need to do that is so I can't be identified.
if you were a celebrity....then, yeh. not being identified is a good friggin reason to have tinted windows.
You keep saying that.
Fuck off, slaver.
Can we hear from esteve6 or esteve8? I think they might be more interesting.
Yah, because laws are always right and just!
Maybe I don't feel like being identified without a reasonable fucking suspicion of a crime having been committed with my vehicle.
Also, never load weed into your gun. It's really fucking dangerous apparently.
Who has weed left to load in guns? It all goes out to trick or treaters...
Now both Huff and Bradham will be counted as violent criminals. Another example of why focusing on "nonviolent" drug offenders - who are a tiny minority of prisoners - is useless.
Are there any progressives honest enough to admit that their long sought after War on Guns won't be a disaster similar to the War on Drugs, particularly for inner city communities?
No, because they think that making gun ownership illegal is magic, whereas making drug ownership illegal just makes criminals out of the poor.
I believe I have finally figured out the progressive mindset, and [not too surprisingly] it's really pretty simple.
Things could be so much better [nicer, cleaner, safer, more certain, ad infinitum; kumbya in other words]
They way to achieve so much better is to get people organized toward those goals.
The way to get everyone [EVERY ONE] organized around an idea and a goal is to make them, like give them no choice, especially if it is just too hard or too much trouble to convince them logically [or just not possible to convince them logically; you know, deplorables, guns and religion, looneytarians, that whole crowd]
Government can and should do this, by legislating, regulating, and overall enforcing these mandates.
In an final outcome, utopia, because they know.
You're complicating it too much. Like pretty much every other self-selected elite, the Progressives think that life would be wonderful if only the rest of us would do as they tell us.
Guillotine bait.
You think I complicated it? Ok, let's try this:
We know what's best.
The rest of you don't.
[Our] Big gubmit's gonna make you.
Paradise on Earth.
And it's for your own good and we here to help with that.
And if called me guillotine bait I will take that as a compliment.
Now both Huff and Bradham will be counted as violent criminals.
Why?
Gun charge = violent crime.
Because possessing an arbitrarily proscribed substance and a gun at the same time - violent criminal. Actual violence is not necessary. Because FYTW.
I just looked this up. Both the FBI and New Jersey classify only murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault as violent crimes.
That's surprising. That's definitely not the case in New York.
yep
https://www.nyccriminallawyer.com/violent-crimes/
Two ways to categorize violent crimes have developed. One way is to follow the FBI's definition, which considers violent crime to be
(1) Murder and Manslaughter, (2) Forcible Rape, (3) Robbery, and (4) Aggravated Assault.
In New York, laws that say what is illegal are spelled out in the New York Penal Code. The Penal Code of New York lists Murder, Forcible Rape, Robbery, and Aggravated Assault as violent crimes. In addition to these, the Penal Code also considers felony gun possession, burglary, kidnapping, and most sexual assaults to be violent crimes.
Does anyone have any actual numbers on the impact of gun control on inner city communities or what racial disparities exist in gun control enforcement?
Gun controllers will say that only nationwide laws will have an impact, because people and guns can easily move in and out of any local jurisdiction.
Oh, and this article has the perfect title: "If You Like the War on Drugs, You'll Love the War on Guns!"
The real crime here is a black man pretending that he has constitutional rights. These people are never going to learn their place.
TheseThose people are never going to learn their place.
FTFY
LOL fuck you.
LOL fuck you.
It was worth saying twice, at least.
*shrug*
This guy is not nearly as heroic as Michael Sam, or Colin Kilpatrick [sic?]
Kapperneck
Cap her neck

I wonder if pro-2nd Amendment folks will go after the NFL.
I hope so. I don't think they will. But its an interesting possible dynamic; NFL owners are probably all very anti-gun and want to maintain this bullshit image of their players as having nothing to do in their free time except visit crippled children in the hospital. But I imagine a large swath of NFL fans are probably pro-2nd-amendment types, who would *mostly* think that players have the same rights they do.
I also acknowledge that there's probably a contingent that think that young crazy rich black people - aka, "Pro Athletes" shouldn't be trusted with guns, and don't mind the NFL playing supervisor to them.
I forget, did he purchase the gun legally? That might have the smallest bearing in this case. To cut him with proper paperwork and licensing would be that much worse.
It doesn't matter how legal the gun is = you get caught in NJ, and you're going to get fucked.
There are at least 2 other "driving thru NJ with a gun" stories on Reason i can remember off the top of my head. Woman with kids who drove from Philly and went to jail.... and the guy who moved from Denver(?) with a shotgun in his trunk. Both - completely innocent, non criminals who merely inadvertently misunderstood NJ regulations - faced serious jail time.
e.g. the Shaneen Allen case - facing 3 years
The Brian Aitkin case - he faced 7 years
there were others as well.
I had forgotten about the Aitkin case. Jesus.
It's amazing to think that Chris Christie was once a rising star in the R column.
If there's one silver lining to the shit show of this entire year, its that he's pretty well and truly fucked. I can't imagine him ever being a serious contender for any office ever again.
Although I'm probably wrong about that.
I believe I saw that Christie did finally take action on the Allen case, but it was only after she'd been fucked with for about a year.
He'll do just fine - next cycle he's just going to run as a Democrat.
LOL it's not like Jersey's anti-gun paranoia is going to be any different with or without Christie.
Yeah, exactly. Its nothing to do with him. Its NJ
...Trump is the nominee, rationality and sanity haven't played a role in a while.
And this is also NFL we're talking about. There is no rhyme or reason in responses 'problems' by players. Ray Rice will never play again, yet it took like thirty witness accounts of Josh Norman's behavior to his own wife before Giants cut him.
Cam's end-zone dancing antics = fines. Kap's sideline antics (that never involve end-zones, btw, because that implies scoring something) = Sensitivity Sessions.nning/losing etc. But seriously fuck the NFL.
yet it took like thirty witness accounts of Josh Norman's behavior to his own wife before Giants cut him
Josh Brown, FWIW. Norman plays for the Redskins.
Good point. Expecting any sort of logical consistency is probably a mistake.
FWIW. Norman plays for the Redskins.
I blame...squirrels.
I forget, did he purchase the gun legally?
Considering he didn't kill or incapacitate someone, take their gun, and throw money at the body, yes.
Considering he's played a game in CO, WA, and OR it's entirely possible he purchased the weed legally as well.
But all this is beside the point.
Who did he play in Oregon? The Portland McDoesn'tExists?
New Jersey has some of the most draconian laws regarding transporting a firearm through the state. Can't have a loaded weapon in your car or "reasonable" access to weapon and ammo in the same compartment as your passenger. if they catch you they are more than happy to stretch the already wide scope of their laws in order to make an arrest.
" did he purchase the gun legally?"
One of the sports sites had an article saying that he had a concealed carry permit from Texas.
So how about Texas stops recognizing drivers licenses from NJ? Reciprocity has to go two ways. How upset would NJ get if other states refused to accept their marriage licenses? If the second amendment is applied state by state, why not the rest of the constitution? Why are (constitutionally unnecessary) gun permits the only state issued documents that other states can refuse to honor? Oh, wait, medical marijuana cards.
Bill of Rights? Wrong.
Now NFL players will just have to put into their contracts that the team will pay for an ARMED guard around them at all times. That way they don't have to carry.
how shitty is the filly receiving corps that they were going to start a guy from the practice squad this weekend? fuck the iggles
OT: Is there going to be one last "October surprise" wrt Trump? With the half-life of "OMG! This is the final nail in the coffin!" scandals being about four or five days before they become "meh, what else you got?" old news and the game seeming to be one of those shoot-outs where whoever gets the ball last wins, it seems like today or tomorrow would be the last chance for a big reveal from the Clinton compound that has enough time to become big news but not enough time to be old and busted by Tuesday. Or has Trump got a pre-emptive strike against Hillary?
There's no way that they don't each have something ready. Two elderly scumbags: there's got to be a lot of dirt there.
A few days ago Herself drug up the ex beauty queen connected to the cartel murder and who once had sex on a TV reality show while she was engaged to a MLB player. She hates Trump because he called her fat.
If that ain't scraping the bottom of the barrel I don't know what is.
If anyone has any bullets to fire it has to be tomorrow -- I check out during the weekend, thought the eve of the election could be the prime date for scandal news.
I think if they had anything, they would've dropped it earlier in the week after the FBI's announcement to try and drown it out. At any rate, with Assange and O'Keefe keeping up a steady stream of material, I doubt there's much they could bring up to make Trump look worse.
No signs yet of Assange's announced Phase 3 from what I can see.
Meanwhile, early voting continues. If he wants to make an impact, time is a wasting
The war on women card has been played to death, so I predict the race card will be used on trump tomorrow. With jessie Jackson by his/her side, someone will accuse trump of using the n word.
This is likely, especially given the rumors that the campaign is concerned about black voter turnout.
If it's these the Hillary is in for a long weekend:
Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill: 'I believe the majority' of GOP senators won't vote for Trump.
Quasi endorsement.
Donald Trump's Income Isn't Always What He Says It Is, Records Suggest.
Shocker.
Remember "the thing"? LOL
The original, the remake, or the reboot?
The Howard Hawks version.
The Philadelphia Eagles were named after the NRA?
Don't be fooled, everyone. This is an Onion post.
Eddie the Eagle?
Edwards.
This is actually true. They were named after the National Recovery Act.
Instead of buckling under and coughing up a bullshit, lapse-in-judgement excuse, he gave some pretty good answers. I'm sure his statement will be met with a bunch of "What's he complaining about? I've never been jumped at the local farmers' market"-type responses.
First day in boulder, we went to whole foods. A hippie lady, maybe 26 asked her boyfriend in the most stone sounding voice "do they have it in organic?"
I burst out laughing.
Of course everyone will say they dont get jumped! Why would anyone think of robbing a rich person who grew up in a less than great area?
Sounds like a cool dude.
Dude is explosively fast and good team-mate. I'm not a fan of the Patriots, but they are just kind of team that can see value others miss. I would guess he will be Patriot before long.
Granted, that would put him in Massachusetts, which is certainly not much improvement over New Jersey.
He can live in NH or VT if he wants. Bit of a drive, byt if hes close to the border, its not bad.
He's terrible. If he was good at football he doesn't get released here. But he's not.
Most Eagles fans were surprised he wasn't cut after training camp.
I like the 2nd Amendment and all but I had a rough night and I hate the fucking Eagles.
Get the fuck outta my cab.
Indians fan?
I woke up to a dead car battery.
Apparently I left the hazard lights on without noticing.
Always a bad morning like that
Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff was reportedly pulled over on the Walt Whitman bridge for speeding and having windows that were too tinted
Just this morning I was reading an impassioned editorial in the Billings Gazette about how backwards Montana is for not treating seat belts as a primary offense, because the police apparently don't have enough flimsy pretexts for pulling citizens over to inventory the contents of their vehicles.
How dare they only ticket for that horrific crime as a second offense!!
Philistines. SMDH
The truth is he hasn't been very good and that's a big part of the reason.
Does he have a permit to carry? Or does he think that because he's an athlete he doesn't need to follow the rules everyone else does?
I think its more he thinks he's a free-man and so he doesn't need to follow bullshit thought up by the 'authorities' to make things easier on *them*.
Does he have a permit to carry?
I don't think New Jersey recognizes any other states' permits.
Very pro 2A guy here, but I think you might be jumping the gun (see what i did there?) declaring the cut was because of the gun possession. Probably more so because of the weed, not that that makes it right. Bradham went through something similar recently with a gun, and he's still starting, because he's better player. You know how NFL teams feel about "distractions", especially regarding players not at the top of the roster.
Huff has been a marginal player at best for several years now. Yes, ran back a KO for a score two weeks ago, but a rookie did the same thing the week before, because the Eagles just have great special teams. He's been practically non-existent in the offense.
Just sayin'
If Huff was a valuable player he's not getting released today. Since he sucks, it's not worth the hassle to keep him. It's the way things work in the NFL.
Had Ray Rice not been a quickly declining player in 2014, the Ravens never would've released him. Had Greg Hardy not been terrible last year, the Cowboys probably would've re-signed him. Had Ben Roethlisberger not been a top QB, he would've been released when the rape accusations started flying.
Exactly.
Probably more so because of the weed, not that that makes it right.
Dunno. What other players have been fired immediately a weed bust, and which ones have not?
They kept him after the weed bust, but fired him after the pro-RKBA statement. I know which one I think caused the firing, based on the timing.
Marginal, bottom-of-the-roster guys get cut after weed busts, DUI, etc. Stars get "We're gonna stand behind him and help him through this difficult time".
Sure. The marginal guys are prone to getting fired.
The question is, why did they fire him?
Based on the sequence of events, I'm thinking it was for being overtly pro-RKBA.
Possible. I won't pretend to know what's in ownership's head. Might have been an all-of-the-above scenario.
My original point was that the headline was somewhat misleading, and had a distinct whiff of clickbait.
The Packers kept Letroy Guion, even after the authorities put the money in extremely short piles to make it look like there was more cash than there really was
. "I'm a professional athlete fucking American, what professional athlete true blue red blooded American doesn't have a gun?"
Get with the program, kid.
DOOMco- sorry to see your troubles the other day.
If I were you me, I'd be pestering Robot Santa for one of these.
Then I'd stuff a 307 (I like the bore/stroke ratio) with a carburetor and an HEI distributor in that FJ.
Cuz I'm just that sort of person.
Ive looked at that as an option, and it is very tempting. I think if i swap engines, I would go with an Isuzu 4bd1t or cummins 4bt. They are about the same weight, little 4 cyl turbo diesels. Ive looked at toyota diesel, but they all have to be shipped from overseas and they get pricey quick.
I'm hoping to get the cooling back under control soon, so wonter will be better for me.
Pro tip: Japan has extremely strict emissions control laws. Used to be, that an engine with 100,000 miles has to be replaced or rebuilt. I think it's down to 50k, now. So that means a lot of used engines with only 50k miles very cheap.
Don't know if diesel engines have the same rules, probably, but at much higher miles.
They are plentyful but the issue is usually shipling/customs.
M-B OM617? I've seen them put in Hiluxes, not sure how your engine compartment compares.
Its beem done, and is another option.
SJW shit like this, Bob fucking Costas' idiotic anti-gun rant on SNF, and 90% of ESPN's coverage - and they wonder why the NFL's ratings are tumbling.
I was pretty skeptical of this narrative until the Eagles-Cowboys game tanked. itshappening.gif
A lot of sports is becoming unwatchable. Between declining quality of the on-the-field product, announcers who suck, commentators who would fit in better on the set of The View than on the field/court/whatever, 50 human interest stories per game, a 50/50 split between commercials and live action, and omnipresent protests/awareness campaigns/crusades, it can't keep my attention. This is especially true for pro sports.
A point in favor of soccer... there is very little of that stuff. You get some of the SJW crap from the (American) announcers but otherwise nothing from the actual commentators. Plus no commercials except at half-time.
We had a similar discussion last night listening to Joe Buck's logorrhea. Sports broadcasts for American audiences seem to require someone to always be talking.
I remember watching some early round DFB Pokal games on streaming and being amazed at the long periods of time where the single commentator was saying nothing at all, just letting me watch the game in peace.
Sadly, I bet we'll see the "picture in picture" mode for commercials on soccer if it gets any more popular in the US--where they reduce the game to a box in the corner for the 5-minute ad break.
I have no objection to commentators - the more, the merrier IMHO - as long as they're talking about the game.
As for commercials, I think they'd have to get that past FIFA and one of the few things those dopes are good at is putting the brakes on "too much" commercialization.
Well, there's the kerfuffle over England and Scotland wanting to wear poppy armbands.
Poppies are a cultural totem of Remembrance Day - not really SJW. Kind of similar to should we/shouldn't we sing the anthem.
Oh, and the "End Racism" sloganeering all over Europe. Not that they have a racism problem or anything.
The NFL has been going to shit for a while. They're just as fucking statist as CNN or any mainstream news outlet. Totally sick of their constant holier than thou bullshit.
I had to roll my eyes at the "teachers are underappreciated" BS at the end of the preseason.
If you were looking around for a group of responsible gun owners, would you really land on cops?
Wouldn't they all start shooting wide receivers and running backs out of instinct?
I think if i swap engines, I would go with an Isuzu 4bd1t or cummins 4bt. They are about the same weight, little 4 cyl turbo diesels.
DIESELS.
*hisses, covers face with cape, vanishes in cloud of acrid smoke*
Haha. The low torque is great, and they maintain that tractor like reliability. I dont thing boulder county lets people put diesel engines in, though. You have to prove the car had that engine as an option. So I might be stuck with a v8. 307, you say?
Actually, I know a guy who was looking at putting a VW tdi in his Suzuki Samurai. Don't know if he ever did it. It's apparently pretty popular.
so take a shitmobile and put a good engine in it. Still looks like a shitmobile but runs good.
At least it drives now!
A friend i grew up with has a super beetle with a 2005 subaru wrx engine. They basically bolt right up.
A friend i grew up with has a super beetle with a 2005 subaru wrx engine.
Damn... that thing must be fast as hell.
It is fun. Little heavy in the back, but itll peel away. Still rear engine, rear wheel drive.
this isnt his, but gives you an idea
"Huff said he has a license for the gun in Texas, but New Jersey doesn't honor that license. He admitted to not knowing enough about New Jersey's gun laws. As for the gun possession, he said he never brought it to the team's facility ... Huff had 13 catches for 72 yards this season"
That's not alotta YAC (or is it YAR?). Sorry Josh. Better Stats Matter
I keep hearing how NFL numbers are plummeting this season. Don't know if it's true or not because I honestly don't care. But, it would seem like in no small part a result of the politicization. Plain and simple, not ever damn facet of everything in life has to have a ideology attached to it. I'd think those who watched, did so for escape and not to have bullshit, on either side, shoved down their throats.
I dont thing boulder county lets people put diesel engines in, though. You have to prove the car had that engine as an option. So I might be stuck with a v8. 307, you say?
That's right, you're on the Front Range; smog check land. That adds another layer of complications.
I'm lucky, 1975 is the cutoff for smog. But the website only has a cutoff for gas engines. The diesel page doesn't seem to have a cutoff, and has some rules about what came out of the factory. So maybe i just dont tell anyone?
Good for this guy for sticking up for his rights. Shall not be infringed. 'Illegal gun' is just some shit term the government made up to take away your liberties. Also, who cares if NFL players smoke weed? If they're doing their job, why should the team fire them? I mean I understand if the guy shows up drunk at practice and is screwing up, but otherwise, on his own time, who fucking cares? The entire drug ban in the NFL is just a bunch of statist crap, including steroid use. I'm sick and tired of the NFL acting like players are saints and role models for your children. They're professional athletes and and entertainers, that is all. No wonder the NLFs ratings are tanking. 75% of the players approved of legal weed.
Seriously. We let them go crazy at the bars, no questions asked. But god forbid anyone light a blunt up after a game.
Yeah, a lot of it seems to be all about protecting their "image".
Huff was cut because he sucks. His sole accomplishment this year is on special teams. He's a Chip Kelly remnant who hasn't really accomplished anything beyond the usual Iggles-receivers ball-dropping garbage. He's also the second Eagles WR to run his mouth to the press this week. According to a Howie press conference, Huff's statements were the deciding factor. Rather than apologizing or saying he couldn't speak to the pending case, he gave a list of semi-coherent excuses that amounted to not knowing the laws in the state where he resides and being a special athlete snowflake.
The gun is registered in TX. NJ, where he lives, has zero reciprocation. He was speeding through a known speed trap. His excuse is that his wife is pregnancy (not in labor -- just that she's pregnant). Bad dudes in Houston are bad. While the tinted windows, weed and gun possession, even speeding, might be silly reasons (there is DUI in there, too, evidently), they all add together with lousy on-field performance at his stated job (which isn't punt returner) to = cut.
The only unfortunate thing in this is that the team didn't cut all their horrible receivers.
His wife is pregnant, not pregnancy. Can't seem to edit this damn thing. Still with they'd cut Agholor first.
"Can't seem to edit this damn thing"
Feature, not bug.
Whatever. The Eagles have a dropped balls and fumbles at the worst possible time problem. J.Matthews and Agolor can't be trusted to make a key catch and RB Matthews and Smallwood can't hold on to the damn effen ball.
This has unseen costs to outcomes!!!!!
It's hard to tell if they cut him because of the arrest or because he got uppity.
Sean Taylor was murdered in his home.
At the time, he was banned from owning a gun.
He was the victim of a home invasion.
Making it public knowledge that NFL athletes are not allowed to carry a gun may constitute cruel and unusual punishment.
Because they're famous, everyone brags about living near them--so it's easy to find out where they live.
Everybody knows young guys with a lot of money blow it on expensive things that ripe to steal, too.
Now you're telling the world that they can't defend themselves?
That's a nasty thing to do to somebody. Tell them you're rich as hell--and can't have a gun.
Huff's biggest mistake was living in NJ.
Why would a high-profile athlete who owns a gun do that?
The Eagles will happily hire someone who kills dogs for fun. But legally carried guns? That's just going too damn far..
Will we ever get our fill of the antics of "professional athletes"? I wonder.
"citing incidents of terrorism at high-volume venues and the security having responsible gun users in the stadium can provide."
The term citizen takes less room than the fictional "responsible gun user". The second amendment does not mention self defense, it mentions militias; you know, citizen soldiers with their own military grade weapons.
(the old white guys knew everyone was aware the the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" covered self defense.)
Does this "celebrity" allow the same largess to John Q. Public. I wonder.
The Eagles cut Huff because he was a marginal player who just got popped for a DUI and was subject to a lengthy ban for that and marijuana possession, per the league rules agreed to by the NFL Players Association in collective bargaining.
Saying he got cut because he defended the right to bear arms is patently false. He got cut because he violated league rules and the team didn't consider him worth the roster spot any longer. This has nothing to do with the right to bear arms or pot legalization...it's an underperforming employee being fired for violating terms of his employment. The entire article is a straw man.
I think 'marginal' does not give him due credit. For one thing, he has the highest kickoff return average in the NFC.
There aren't many nicer guys than Huff in the NFL. Another peace-loving life damaged by the state.
until I looked at the paycheck saying $4730 , I did not believe that...my... brother woz like actualy bringing in money part time from there computar. . there friend brother started doing this for less than 7 months and resently paid for the morgage on there home and bought a new Cadillac .......

I don't know about you, but in my opinion, Gun Control Sucks, however the law needs to be obeyed until it is changed or thrown out. Seems like some professional athletes have a different view. Surprisingly, or maybe not, some "liberals" the ones who push the stupidity of Gun Control might agree with these scufflaw athletes, I do not.
So no sympathy for the above referenced scufflaw athletes is to be found here. Like I said, there are any number of laws on the books that I don't like, that I think wrong, and I do what I can to seem them changed. That is my right, these athletes have the same right. When they opt to violate the law, they become criminals, and if their actions lead to their firing, well they are grown men, and responsible for their actions, just like I would be held, right? Do they deserve the special consideration their actions seem to say they think themselves entitled to, in a word, NO, and here ends the story.
