  1. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

I saw Matthew Dowd and thought Maureen.

Does she still write her little nuggets of vapidity for the NYT?

    1. Pay up, Palin's Buttplug!   9 years ago

      Yes.

      1. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

        Ha!

        Still banal in her predictability!

    2. FD   9 years ago

Made a fortune and hell of a living (Maureen, that is) just by rigorous discipline. Anybody can succeed with enough dligence and work ethic. Pity she's another economic illiterate and collectivist apologist for the worst of humanity

  2. Libertarian   9 years ago

All right, time to get serious. The question is: does Bill Clinton still have it? Will his speech help, or inadvertently hurt Hillary tonight?

    1. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

When Bill's on his game, he's a master.

i think the odds are he'll probably hit it out of the park; but who knows, he's such an ego maniac he might throw something in there trying to defend his (and hillary, by association) legacy of throwing drug-dealers in jail and say they have nothing to apologize for, so fuck BLM (he may be still pissed at how they're hijacking the narrative)

Or he may throw a few jabs at the bernie people and say, "get your heads out of the clouds, hippies". Who knows.

      1. Lee Genes   9 years ago

        I hope he's feeling ornery.

        1. Diane Reynolds (Paul.)   9 years ago

          You misspelled hornery.

      2. Diane Reynolds (Paul.)   9 years ago

to Rufus's question above, when Maureen Dowd finds you oily, people may just be tired of the Clintons.

Back in the 90s, their slippery ways bemused their supporters. Now their normal constituency tends to roll their eyes and accept that they can't trust anything they say.

        1. Diane Reynolds (Paul.)   9 years ago

          (while voting for them anyway...)

      3. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

I'd pay him five bucks to walk out in a blue dress.

      4. FD   9 years ago

Whatcha been listening to, Dennis? The man says nothing, delivers lines like a superficial used car salesman, and lately been looking like death warmed over.
When he was called, like Reagan, a great communicator back in the 90's,, I realized the talking heads were lemmings or lobotomized.

        1. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

          It's because he played the...saxomophone!

    2. Dark Lord of the cis   9 years ago

That depends on what the definition of "have" is.

  3. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

OMG all this vertical video. I can't even.

  4. Libertarian   9 years ago

Was just listening to Schumer give his speech. Exactly how would Congress ensure "equal pay for women?" Isn't it already illegal to discriminate based on sex?

    1. arbitrary wavefunction   9 years ago

For one thing, new cars for attorneys.

Sue whenever you want. Oh, you've been working there for 10 years and just now decided you're not being paid fairly? Sue away.

    2. C. Anacreon   9 years ago

In Socialist Paradise, all proletariat, man or woman, make same wage. No discrimination!

    3. Lee Genes   9 years ago

      Isn't it already illegal

Probably safe to stop right there and say "yes"

  5. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

Socially liberal doesn't include legalization!!! Obviously.

  6. DEG   9 years ago

I am not drunk enough to watch this shit. I will not get that drunk either as I must work.

  7. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

Maybe we need affirmative action for disenfranchised parties in monopoly states.

  8. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

Ever notice how anyone always says, "I'm a huge believer in capitalism, so....." as though its an apology, like, "I was raised catholic, so"....

also, this is the third time they've done this thing and they keep saying they take questions, but its never clear where they're taking them from. facebook was a mess the first time, and some people just don't do the twitter thing on principle.

    1. Shit Pyrate   9 years ago

People have been verbally beaten up, and made to feel guilty for being capitalists, though I'm starting to think that it's no longer starting to work anymore.

  9. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

I remember the days when the newsman wore a suit and tie any time he was on camera. Also when he sat down to dinner or took a flight.

    1. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

I'm glad they don't. they're not that important, they shouldn't bother.

      1. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

Then I don't know why I should even listen to them.

        1. Lee Genes   9 years ago

          Because they went to Columbia?

        2. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

is this the news? I thought we were a cult

      2. Diane Reynolds (Paul.)   9 years ago

Ironically, they only made $200 a week back then. Now their kids to go private schools.

  10. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

guys like this talk great game being "moderate" and very "pro capitalist' and blah blah blah about their personal opinions and their generous attitudes towards third parties, and yet...

....what do they really do for a living? Chief Water Carrier for some of the most compromised political media on earth, whose entire purpose is to reinforce the power of the establishment?

  11. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

Hear that, Welch and Gillespie? Someone with public exposure like an editor of a middling libertarian print or online magazine could run for office just like a billionaire and make a difference!

  12. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

""Hillary is such a real human being when no one's looking!!""

    1. lap83   9 years ago

Kind of like the Red Woman?

  13. Lee Genes   9 years ago

They're dragging that gnome Mikulski out for Hillary's nomination. Maybe they'll use Reich's old stepstool.

    1. Diane Reynolds (Paul.)   9 years ago

      Robert Reich or The Reich?

      1. Lee Genes   9 years ago

I was thinking of the Pygmy from Pennsylvania, Roberto "Chavez" Reich

      2. True Scottsman   9 years ago

Bobby, Rob, Robert? I like the 3rd one. I will call him the 3rd Reich.

    2. Crusty Juggler   9 years ago

Never forget her emails to Hillary.

Warning: the site is terrible as well as supportive of them. These people know what's best for you. Give them power!!!

      1. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

If ever there were a friendship more epic than that between Hillary Clinton and Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski, you'd be hard-pressed to find it.

        ...
        ...
        ...
does it end just like Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid? I hope so. Epic.

The adorable exchange didn't stop there. "What a terrific time," Mikulski wrote, remarking on the farewell dinner itself. "... Most of all [loved] seeing you ? so fit n sparkly ? as well as Prez Bill, Chelsea n Uma." ..... go ahead and "aww" with me for a minute.

....her emails to Clinton are truly inspiring ? in the same way that your mom's emails to you in college gave you a much-needed boost before a particularly rough exam, at least. "Dear. Friend. U. R. Doing such a terrific job," wrote the senator in one email dated September 20, 2012, just days after the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya. "Even Bfore recent tumult n tragedies. U. R just the best. Count on me - as always ur friend."

Jesus Christ, you'd think Bustle was some parody site a la "Clickhole" where alt-righties mock some stereotype of bubble-headed females who can't uhm, like omg even deal, with anything that more serious than daytime soaps and thinking about what shoes to wear.

        1. Crusty Juggler   9 years ago

          U. R just the best.

  14. Hyperion   9 years ago

What's with the audio, I can barely hear this?

  15. Hyperion   9 years ago

So, Matt must be like 3x smarter than the dude being interviewed, cause his head is 3x bigger.

  16. Hyperion   9 years ago

    OT:

Do I look like Vladimir, bitches?

    1. Dennis, Constitutional Peasant   9 years ago

, Assange refused to confirm or deny a Russian origin for the mass email leak, saying Wikileaks tries to create ambiguity to protect all its sources.
"Perhaps one day the source or sources will step forward and that might be an interesting moment some people may have egg on their faces. But to exclude certain actors is to make it easier to find out who our sources are," Assange told CNN.

He's basically saying in so many words that it was actually a Bernie supporter inside the DNC, and that everyone blaming the Russians is a dumb cunt.

  17. SIV   9 years ago

Video of Hillary Clinton huggin' and prayin' with the Thug's Moms Movement.

    1. SIV   9 years ago

Awkward moment: Sandra Bland's mother is talking God at the Democrat convention.

      1. Hyperion   9 years ago

Nope, Democrats aren't afraid to pull out a gawd anytime they can use it to their advantage. 5 minutes later they'll deny said gawd exists and that they said it.

      2. SIV   9 years ago

The Super Predator Mom's think Hillary is their savior.

        1. FD   9 years ago

Whoa... no "savior" characterizations! Clownie candidate for the Repubs was taking it on the cheek last week from the merciless cosmos and leftoids who seemed to think the savior complex was his most horrifying trait. Well, beyond speech-gate.

    Stephen Colbert vs. DNC Security:

    1. Hyperion   9 years ago

This is just more proof that people want/need crazy. I gotta choose my crazy. McAffee/Weiss 2020, because I want the crazy that I want, who don't want to enslave me and rob from me. Stormy, otoh, wants it good and hard.
