Obama: Istanbul Attack Shows How Little ISIS Has to Offer
Turkey makes more than a dozen arrests

The Turkish government says it has compelling evidence that the terrorist attack on the Istanbul international airport was organized by the Islamic State (ISIS). An anonymous source within the Turkish government claims the three men involved in the attack were from Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and entered the country from Syria last month, along with the suicide vests and bombs they used in the attack. The death toll in the attack is up to 43 after a three-year-old Palestinian boy injured in the attack died. Turkish police made at least 13 arrests while raiding locations all across Istanbul after the attack.
President Obama also appeared to suggest the attack was organized by ISIS, which has been fingered by Turkey but has not yet claimed responsibility. At the North American Leaders' Summit yesterday, Obama argued the attack showed ISIS was doing poorly. "It's an indication of how little these vicious organizations have to offer," Obama said. "Beyond killing innocents, they are continuing losing ground, unable to govern those areas that they have taken over."
Obama predicted ISIS would be defeated. "They're going to be defeated in Syria, they're going to be defeated in Iraq," he said. "They are going to be on the run wherever they hide. And we will not rest until we have dismantled these networks of hate that have an impact on the entire civilized world." CIA Director John Brennan, meanwhile, said he believes ISIS would continue to try to penetrate America's defenses and they they had not been successful because of homeland security and intelligence measures.
Travelers over the fourth of July weekend can expect an extra dose of security theater if they're going ot the airport.

I also heard the attackers were gay.
They were certainly goat-fuckers. No word yet on whether they fucked male or female goats.

Doesn't matter when its goat.

It's all goat inside.
Well, with Dads who were raging Islamist homophobes, can you blame them?
Started working at home! It is by far the best job I have ever had. I just recently purchased a Brand new BMW since getting a check for $25470 this 8-week past. I began this 6 months ago and I am now bringing home at least $95 dollar per hour.
I work through this Website. Go here____________ http://www.earnmore9.com
Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and entered the country from Syria last month
I also heard they came in from Syria.
They all were in a hurry to get out of Etchasketchistan
I hear that's the worst place to be in an earthquake.
Didn't I hear that you should kill yourself because you know everyone hates you?
Awww....Hugh has a malignant e-stalker!
You gotta admit it makes a pretty good point though.
Hugh, I do not hate you.
*hugs*
Hugh's ok, i guess.
I mean, its not like I have any respect for him or his thoughts and opinions and face, but I certainly do not hate him.
+1,000,000 Orphans for you sir, way to show your libertarian pride.
*sniff*, that's literally the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
Is that Mary or Tulpa?
Aren't we all?
"Awww....Hugh has a malignant e-stalker!"
Not hard to acquire, just look how quickly you popped up.
Really, anyone could have one if they wanted.
Your first sentence doesn't parse, Ed. Want to try again?

Thanks!
"Beyond killing innocents, they are continuing losing ground, unable to govern those areas that they have taken over."
Is Obama being dumb on purpose?
It comes naturally.
I was going to say something snarky like "It's not really governing if you aren't going broke by offering [a welfare state, free public education, free public healthcare, micromanaging people's lives, regulating business]." But then I realized ISIS is probably doing all those things to one degree or another.
And doing them *poorly*! Backed up by the threat of violence for 'breaking the law'. How much more like a 'legitimate' government can they be?
I was going to say something snarky like "They can't be a legitimate government unless some other country [sells them weapons, sends them aid]." But then I realized Iran or some other country is probably doing those things to one degree or another.
Hmmm...do they have a flag? A national anthem?
Oh, oh...do they have a fiat currency? They can't be a real country unless they have a fiat currency that they can inflate.
"They can't be a legitimate government unless some other country [sells them weapons, sends them aid]."
What is the US, chopped liver? I imagine the bulk of their weapons and equipment came to them via Obumbles and The Hildebeast.
1. We've been effectively sending them arms - through 'moderate rebels' selling off their surplus for cash.
2. They have (or at least had) a currency. Though it was backed with gold (actually was gold - bonus points to them) but it was also backed backed by the threat of violence (no other currency was allowed to be used in their territory).
I mean, at this point they're pretty much all ready for joining the UN and taking a seat on the Human Rights Council.
Interest is forbidden, so no fiat currency. ISIS is doomed!
His criticisms of ISIS are basically the same ones he has for the GOP, so I'm guessing not.
The "they don't have anything to offer" phrasing just grates on me.
Jeebus. They aren't selling a product, or even trying to win elections. They are conquering territory and waging war. Obama seems unable to comprehend, in any way, an organization that isn't basically a variation on the Chicago machine.
The next seven months can't pass fast enough.
WDATPDIM?
That wording read strangely to me too. I expected to read something about Obama's having contemplated recruiting ISIS in a war vs. the Russians or something else bonkers like that.
"It's an indication of how little these vicious organizations have to offer"
I've never understood this line of reasoning. Attacking "the West" or "infadels" or whoever is on their list seems to be one of their main reasons for existing, or at least a way of achieving their goals. It's a selling point for them, not a sign that they are doing poorly.
It's like saying that a serial killer's latest murder is a sign that he's getting really bad at killing.
"Oh sure The Lopper killed again....but, I mean, c'mon - Oooh, another decapitation. Soooo creative. He is obviously losing his touch!"
They offer a justification for anyone disaffected to strike out at those around them and claim their actions are not those of a vicious child but 'striking a blow' or 'serving a higher cause'.
The whole caliphate this is just a bonus if they can ever pull it off. Its the justification for 'struggle' and the *dream* of world domination that is the biggest thing ISIS is selling.
Well, ISIS is a bit differently, with how they had a broader goal of controlling territory and running a government.
They're not holding the territory they took, so on that grounds they're failing in their wider goals and no different than the other groups they were trying to distance themselves from.
But I hear ISIS goons are just as corrupt and prone to money-confiscation as regular police, so they're clearly doing the government thing right!!
They're not holding the territory they took,
I'd be interested to see some maps that show the territory under their control over time.
I wonder just how much of it they have lost. I have a suspicion that many of their claimed losses were exaggerated, as is typically done by wartime propaganda operations.
Any place that the US failed to govern was later controlled by ISIS.

You can see them grow and then shrink.
Of course he criticizes the only folks actively trying to clear up these security bottlenecks.
"The Muslims I grew up around in Malaysia when my mom dumped off there are nothing like Isis".
You mean "Indonesia".
This is why they hate us.
What in the fuckety fuck does that even mean, "little to offer"? Jeezus in a flying biscuit, the nonsense that flows from this guy in the guise of meaningful prose just gets stupider by the week.
It sounds like a yelp review. I don't get it either.
ISIS is dark, loud and the service is terrible.
It insists on itself.
Giving it my worst review ever: two out of five.
I thought the service was to die for. (too soon?)
The Syrian cuisine was far too overcooked.
*stands to applaud*
When I arrived in the Islamic State, I was immediately confronted by the authorities who confiscated the $200 in cash I had on me at the time. It was less than I was used to police arbitrarily confiscating, so I was pleasantly surprised.
But my initial impressions were short lived. I had hoped to see many of the aesthetic sights and atmosphere that I had heard about from other reviewers, but all the former archaeological monuments look like they simply have not been well taken care of. Many of them even looked like they had been exploded.
From there I was captured by a group of mujihadeen and thrown into a cell to await being sold off as a concubine. The cell was musty, it looked like the maid hadn't bothered to clean the place in months, and it had a draft at night. Bed was as hard as a wooden board!! Definitely would NOT recommend staying there again!! The mujihadeen were also loud and rude, so I did not tip. By far one of the least pleasant abductions I've ever had.
After being sold off as a concubine, I found my new owner unattractive and smelly. Not the best sex I've had, but also not the worst. He got killed by the Kurds the next day, though, so no value in replayability.
Overall I give ISIS one point five out of five stars. Would not visit again.
*Thunderous applause**

Dear Eternal Blue Sky,
We are so sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. We appreciate your feedback and hope you give us another chance!
1. Regarding the former monuments site, we are currently experiencing renovations, so you'll have to forgive our mess. But eventually, we think you'll prefer the clean and open new look... and if you don't, at least Allah will.
2. As for your abduction, again we apologize profusely. This cleanliness is very concerning, as we don't want our abductees to die from the unsanitary conditions, since those deaths are very boring to film. Unfortunately, we've had a lot of turnover among the staff...but we're doing our best to change this.
I do hope you won't judge the entire organization on one bad experience. We want to be the one-stop shop for all of your terror needs! Allahu Akbar!
Sincerely,
ISIS
That's fucking awesome.
*joins PBR Streetgang in thunderous applause*
Obama's just pissed because he found out they served him boogers and cum.
Another yelp joke.
I *think* it's meant to discourage other Muslims from supporting ISIS. Sort of like when you tell a kid that a bully lashes it's because they are insecure. Except 1) I'm not convinced that is always true for bullies and 2) I'm pretty damn sure it's not true for ISIS.
But words do nothing to reverse religious mania, which is what those who join ISIS have. They are making their decision on the basis of emotion; reason will not change their course.
It means that the verbal gold that flows out of Obama's mouth will stop the war and heal the world. Pretty words are better than bullets.
"Beyond killing innocents, they are continuing losing ground, unable to govern those areas that they have taken over."
I don't think their failures in governance are the issue here.
If "bad governance" spelled doom for any middle-eastern power, the region would be run like Denmark by this point.
So much blackface in that.
Omar Sharif's real name was "Larry Jones"
What a terrific movie. Time for a rewatch.
"When we told lies you told half-lies. And a man who tells lies, like me, merely hides the truth. But a man who tells half-lies has forgotten where he put it"
He makes it sound like they're trying to win an election.
ISIS doen't seem to be making great efforts to win some global-popularity-contest, brah. Acting as though you're "Winning" because you have more Facebook-friends isn't even the game they're playing.
President Obama also appeared to suggest the attack was organized by ISIS
Though he almost certainly called them "ISIL", because that's his thing.
Our bolt-necked, Lurch look-alike Secretary of State on the other hand prefers to call them Daesh (pronounced "dash") because.... I have no fucking idea why.
It's the progressive term. In Arabic it is something of an insult. The white progressives in Europe picked it up with the initial justification being it didn't include Islamic and it reflected that they aren't real Muslims. Now it just self-perpetuates.
It's the Arabic acronym for ISIS, if i'm not mistaken, and it's also a mildly insulting phrase that has to do with trampling/stomping.
There's a certain beautiful symmetry in Mike M. being baffled by a nickname that's not utterly retarded.
[crys and throws flowers]
ad-Dawlah al-Islamiyah f?'l-Ir?q w-ash-Sham
DON"T BE TLAKING THEM ISLAMIC IN HERE
THEY IS PASSIN' CODEZ!
DERKA DERKA MUHAMMAD JIHAD
GO BACK TO CRAPISTAN
Translates to: ad-Fowla al-AShamYa fill-Crack w-ass-Damn
Eh. Using "Daesh" is just more of the same old multiculti look-at-me signalling. It doesn't mean anything different than "ISIS", but its foreign and therefor hip and cool.
Like listening to people butchering Euro and Latin American place names by trying to pronounce them like locals.
Hey, whitebread dumbass, just say "Nicaragua" like the gringo you are. Saying it "Neekarrrrrahwa" makes you look like an ignorant, pandering whitebread dumbass.
Allegedly, some ISIS members were threatening to murder journalists who called their group 'Daesh' on account of the aforementioned mildly insulting trampling implication, so the phrase does have that going for it.
In that case, we should encourage as many journalists as possible to call them that.
I remember meeting some dude in a bar who wanted to tell me how to pronounce Iraq, telling me how much it matters to Iraqis and then saying he backpacked through the country...at the height of the war.
You never hear those people trying to over-pronounce German last names or place names in the same way they do Spanish equivalents, because that wouldn't be hip.
And it's as effective as clicking on "click here to support petition to stop the war."
As if religious nuts armed with rockets and AAA and having paradise as a goal give a good crap about what decadent kaffirs call them.
Because Kerry's audience isn't just "US mass media". And no one outside of the US has ever heard of "ISIL"
I don't get why they continue to use ISIL. I just Googled to find out and the top hits all seemed like conspiracy theories or something. I didn't click.
well it is the abbreviation for the purely English name. ISIS the last S is Sham which isn't English but means levant.. I think ISIL or Daesh. Do all English abbreviation or all Arabic.. non of this mishmash crap
I thought ISIS = Islamic State in Iraw and Syria and ISIL = Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant...I don't really care, but it seems like ISIS has won out in popular discourse, so it's always a bit weird to hear the White House insist on using ISIL.
It's because that's what the French call them and everybody knows the French are oh so chic.
Kerr is a frogophile.
If I ever make it in politics, I think I will decide to call them "Those fucking bastards, you know the ones!!"
Naturally.
+1 tiger-repelling rock
I want to buy your rock!
It's John Brennan's rock, man, he just throws it at us.
It's John Brennan's rock, man, he just throws it at us.
"They're going to be defeated in Syria, they're going to be defeated in Iraq," he said. "They are going to be on the run wherever they hide. And we will not rest until we have dismantled these networks of hate that have an impact on the entire civilized world."
Does this man ever say anything of substance, ever? He's worse than Trump: at least you can interpolate content into his word salad, but Obama is the king of vacuous bullshit.
Obama predicted ISIS would be defeated. "They're going to be defeated in Syria
I would agree that our coordinated battlefield alliance with Russian fighting forces is probably having an impact.
what does "codordinated" mean?
Russia's attack on U.S.-backed rebels in Syria puzzles, frustrates the Pentagon
Wait, what? WHAT? Is the Obama administration really this fucking stupid?
Russia is explicitly in Syria to defend the Asad regime. It's on the fucking heading of their memos, and they're sky-writing it with their planes. It's just a happy coincidence that ISIS is part of the mass rebel army fighting Asad. So Russia's bombing ISIS too. But going back to mission #1, they're BOMBING THE REBELLION THAT AIMS TO TAKE DOWN ASAD, WRIT LARGE"
My point all along has been that when we decided to bomb ISIS, we were engaging in a limited military alliance with Russia by virtue of the fact we are, in some capacity, on the same side.
"little to offer"
Like...international headlines? The attention of the POTUS and other world leaders? Indirect control of foreign and domestic security policy? Prominent positioning in the nightmares of the affected populace?
Also, if you are the type of person willing to strap an explosive vest to yourself and detonate it in a public place, I assume that how "little" the organization is offering is beside the point.
They've got some nice online marketing skills to offer.
I wonder if the Gov. would be willing to hire ISIS' propaganda team post-war Nazi-Scientist-Style...
First ISIS gets fingered by Turkey then ISIS tries penetrating the US? Is this war or porn?
Damn you! I was going for the fingered thing.
I think ISIS is mad that Turkey won't do any more than fingering. ISIS is just hankerin' for a nice long pounding.
Your mind is always in the gutter. I respect that.
It's officially neither.
🙁
"An anonymous source within the Turkish government claims the three men involved in the attack were from Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and entered the country from Syria last month, along with the suicide vests and bombs they used in the attack."
Damn open borders!
Regardless of the distorted figments the political fucks invest in, engineer, and disseminate through their various channels over all the slaughters the real issue facing America is the ravaging distracting irritant to all that is holy and/or governing called Liberty and Freedom.
Venerable hardly equates to invulnerable when the iconic concerns the rights of mankind. Between the twisted malaise of terrorism feat and tale and bureaucratic hack battles between churlish Washingtonian Goliaths lies moaning and wracked the goddamn gentle lofty spirit of a humble seeking adventurer who has mystically soared through the clouds of times, bending and sweeping into the golden rays of reality while below in the dark earth unfolds long ridges and valleys unfurling through the centuries their incorrigible unnecessary hells.
I know right
God bless the U.S.A. and you Agile, you patriotic mind bending old curmudgeon!

I love Blazing Saddles, does that mean I'm a racist? I did like the Dolemite movies my one token black friend turned me on to also.
Are you white? If so, racist, straight up. /SJW tard
"It's an indication of how little these vicious organizations have to offer," Obama said. "Beyond killing innocents, they are continuing losing ground, unable to govern those areas that they have taken over."
Isn't their ultimate goal to bring about the end of the world, with Jesus returning to save them in Syria for the final battle with "Rome"? I think what they offer is much greater than governing.
Obama: Istanbul Attack Shows How Little ISIS Has to Offer
Totally. Why I bet those suicide bombers don't even get preventative healthcare covered from their ISIS HMO plan.
Damn it, I lost $10 thinking the turks would blame it on th PKK.
Obama pissed that ISIS is taking our jobs by killing innocents themselves.
Genghis Khan's advances show how little he has to offer.
Barack Obama's comprehensive health care plan shows how little he has to offer.
Did I do it right??
I really hope this isn't a case of Obama saying "Is this really all you can conjure, Saruman?" That didn't turn out too well for Theoden.
I'm confused. Do you want to see Obama stabbed to death by an orc or not?
She's not going to do that until she gets pardoned for the whole email thing.
Suthenboy to Obumbles: "Stupid motherfucker. The JV team could swing this election and put a screeching halt to your plans. That is how little they have to offer."
When all of your premises about the world are wrong you cant formulate or execute a successful course of action. What ISIS has done with no small amount of help from Obumbles is plunge the ME even deeper into chaos and barbarism. They don't need to offer anything because that is just how they like things.
Phrasing!
No wait, I had something for this... something about a "Turkish prison..."
Was one-armed Chechen warlord behind Istanbul airport attack? Bearded 'terror mastermind' fled Russia 12 years ago before settling in Turkey as ISIS recruiter, security services say
I know, I know, Daily Fail, but still:
Why does anyone -- especially the POTUS -- care what ISIS "offers"?
They're a terrorist group hellbent on spreading death, torture, slavery, and fear; as much as possible for as long as possible, however far across the globe it can reach. What does any group like that have "to offer" anyone?
Does the President actually think these things through before he says them?
I don't get why Obama (and other progressives) on the one hand refuse to say "Islamic terrorism" or "radical Islamic terrorism" because it supposedly grants legitimacy to those groups by describing them as Islamic (and insults other Muslims by stating that they're Islamic) but nonetheless use terms like ISIS and ISIL. Which literally means calling the group an Islamic State. That seems to confer a lot more legitimacy than using the term "Islamic" as an adjective to describe a subset of terrorism.
