Sir Wiggleton, also known as Diggy, spent 100 days in a shelter, and Detroit Dog Rescue was so happy when he was finally adopted, they posted a photo of him and his new owner on Facebook. The photo went viral and was picked up by a number of media outlets. That's how it came to the attention of the Waterford Township, Michigan, police. They sent two officers to the owner's home. They determined the dog as a pitbull, which is banned by the city. Officers say they plan to enforce the ban but won't say exactly what that means. Meanwhile, Detroit Dog Rescue says the dog isn't a pitbull.

One of the ways to know that your local police department either has too much power or too little intelligence, they knowingly go against a viral wave - and all evidence - to enforce their way based on a whim.

    1. Groovus Maximus   9 years ago

This is not limited to either constabularies or even government institutions, Fist of Obfuscate.

Exhibit A: Biological SJWs in all their various and sundry incarnations.

The dog is dead. Happy Monday Everyone!

    1. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

It was a grotesque monstrosity anyway.

  3. straffinrun   9 years ago

it's necessary to protect citizens from certain animals, including pit bulls, which the law says were bred for "fighting or baiting."

    Project much?

    1. Adans smith   9 years ago

It's the Ar-15 of the canine world.

      1. The Hyperbole   9 years ago

Does Sir Wiggleton have the thing that goes up?

        1. Adans smith   9 years ago

          Maybe,if you rub his belly.

          1. Groovus Maximus   9 years ago

That's not his belly; where do you think you are, Bestialgary, Perverta, Canuckistan?

            1. Adans smith   9 years ago

              Warty's?

            2. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

Damn. A Russian calling Canada Canuckistan?

Man, does this land garner no, le mot juste, respect?

              1. UnCivilServant   9 years ago

Well if you keep sprinkling your English with frog talk, you will get less respect than Dangerfield

      2. Atanarjuat   9 years ago

Wait for it... Tail thing that goes up?

suppressor = rolled up news paper?

    2. Lee G   9 years ago

I know that in Philadelphia they started using dogs for muggings because of the firearm modifiers. There were homeys with pitbulls everywhere. That trend seems to have died off in recent years though.

We need some common sense dog control.

      1. Ted S.   9 years ago

        Common sense pig control first.

      2. pan fried wylie   9 years ago

Gun rap or sepsis when it turns on you, tough choice.

Let loose this dog of war.

  6. Pompey (91% LOLLOLZ)   9 years ago

The Waterford ordinance says that because of "increased urbanization and population density," it's necessary to protect citizens from certain animals, including pit bulls, which the law says were bred for "fighting or baiting."

So Detroit is growing in population now? Compared to what baseline? January, 1910? What a crock of shit line of reasoning to reinforce an idiotic ban.

    1. CZmacure   9 years ago

Step 1) Tell everyone they need to urbanize and increase population density for assorted reasons. Also zone against "sprawl."
Step 2) Use increased urbanization and population density as pretense for power grabs.
      Step 3) Profit.

    2. pan fried wylie   9 years ago

As the remaining population contracts, moving more people into a smaller number of houses for security against the roving packs of wild dogs, population density increases. Doesn't address the claim of increased urbanization though, I got nuthin.

      1. pan fried wylie   9 years ago

oh as long as the groups move to houses closer toghether as they concentrate each household, that could do it.

what's the unit of measurement for "urbanization", I need a quantum to quantify with.

  7. WTF   9 years ago

I guess the cops also use this guide.

    1. some guy   9 years ago

I thought they used the owner's skin tone and socio-economic status...

      1. thrakkorzog   9 years ago

What, you think cops have some sort of guide on what kind of dogs they're allowed to shoot? They can't tell the difference between an actual vicious dog and a dog that just wants to lick their faces.

  8. Rufus The Monocled   9 years ago

Is it that time of year where pit bulls are constantly in the news? Up here it's all pb attacks all the time. Now they're being banned in different municipalities.

    1. R C Dean   9 years ago

Aren't there several pit bull bans being voted on right now? Gotta keep the propaganda going to drag those over the finish line.

And, yeah, that ain't a pit. That's an American Bulldog. Dumb fucks can't even tell one breed from another.

Note, again, that this travesty is triggered by an anonymous complaint. In Deantopia, anonymous complaints are ignored. Completely. Put your fucking name on it, or shut the fuck up, is my motto.

  9. dantheserene   9 years ago

Breed specific legislation is stupid on its face. Most dogs are some form of mix, so meeting a legal definition of a breed is difficult. On the other hand, the easiest dogs to identify are pure breeds that tend to be better treated and trained than the average mutt, and thus much less likely to be a problem. I doubt any of these idiots have ever met a properly socialized pit bull.
Full disclosure: I have a rescued PB mix that is a total love sponge to anyone.

    1. pan fried wylie   9 years ago

domestication, how the fuck do they work? only with continued application, or the animals go feral. examples abound across Mammalia, far wider than species.

    2. Radioactive   9 years ago

      stupid face...stupid face...neener, neener, neener

  10. jackrose   9 years ago
