Donald Trump Was Right That U.S. Soldiers Stole Money in Iraq—Why Are Democrats Denying The Truth?
Trump Derangement Syndrome leads to Democrats whitewashing the Iraq war.

Donald Trump suggested in a speech that soldiers in Iraq tasked with handing out American money on the ground absconded with some of it and were "living very well right now." He called Iraq "crooked as hell."
Anti-Trump factions jumped on the comments, claiming Trump was disrespecting U.S. soldiers. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said he wanted to "go through the screen and shake" Trump, in part because yesterday was the 241st anniversary of the founding of the Army. One veteran's story describing his personal experiences and the dangers of the work of handing out taxpayer money to Iraqis was described as "demolishing" Trump's argument. Further out on the fringe it was called "beyond contempt."
But this is a little bit of a manifestation of Trump Derangement Syndrome. After he made his comments, the Trump campaign insisted Trump was referring to Iraq soldiers. In the speech he didn't specify. But that's irrelevant. The fact is that U.S. soldiers and contractors, indisputably, stole money, up to billions of dollars. Democrats like to fashion themselves anti-war, especially when talking about Republicans and especially when Democrats are not in power. But President Obama made his perceived military toughness ("Osama bin Laden is dead") a cornerstone of the 2012 re-election and Democrats have not been shy to wrap themselves with the flag in a similar manner as Republicans in the service of a partisan, sectarian agenda.
The truth is U.S. soldiers were convicted of $50 million worth of crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Were Trump's comments about U.S. soldiers (and they appeared that way at least to me when reading the initial comments), there would be nothing controversial or inaccurate about them. And it's no more a controversial or inaccurate statement applied to Iraq soldiers, who also participated in thefts of money and equipment.
Iraq was a mess and despite the mainstream stereotype about Democrats and Republicans vis a vis war, the November election is likely to feature a Democrat who voted for George W. Bush's war in Iraq and a Republican who says he opposed it from the beginning and who campaigned against it, successfully, in a Republican primary, making it a major point in his campaign in South Carolina, a historically military- and Bush-friendly state. These facts, and Democrats' incredible cognitive dissonance in supporting a president who has ordered the killing of thousands of Muslims via drone strikes and other military campaigns around the world while claiming only Republicans are the party of war.
While Democrats may be more amenable to whitewashing the Iraq war if it means defeating Trump, it remains to be seen whether they'll realize using the no-fly list to deny mostly Muslims their rights to bear arms without due process is an anti-Muslim, civil rights-violating move now that Trump supports it too.

what the fuck?
Billions in cash shipped into a war zone and some of it went missing? Wow. I did not see that coming.
Next you'll be telling me that some of the casualties were innocent civilians.
My thoughts exactly. I'm shocked the number wasn't higher.

The Bushpigs were loading planes with pallets of cash to bribe the Iraqis. Back then every wingnut I spoke to denied this happened.
Pay up or shut up, Plugs.
And now the Dems deny it. You jealous of the money they stole? Could have used it to pay off your bet?
PB being his usual lying self has one kernel correct. We were bringing in pallets of cash, hell we measured it by the ton or number pallets, but it wasn't to bribe Iraqis. We were replacing the entire currency of the country from Saddam bills to the new bills. The Iraqis major bill was the US equivalent of a $20 and there was no western style banking just money hidden or put in a vault to sit. The entire economy ran on cash. To this day it is largely the same. Despite our best OPSEC (which probably sucked) to keep the convoys of cash off the radar we had some grand battles with people trying to steal cash by the truckload.
The biggest fuckers in Iraq, were the Iraqis. As the US change dto the new style $100 the rumor planted by some was the old $100's would be declared void. They were offering to by old bills for 50-70 cents on the dollar. We did an entire media campaign to try and convince the Iraqis that old or new the value was the same.
Could we stop blaming W for this war already? Congress voted for it, or at the very least didn't deign to take their constitutionally appointed powers when it started happening. W may have wanted it and pushed for it, but don't let that fact allow any of these other asshats to be let off the hook for it.
Well, Bush did kinda make a fraudulent case for war.
Cheney made the final decisions.
FTFY
I don't think he did make a fraudulent case. The intelligence that they shared was widely accepted and pretty much the consensus view, is my understanding. There are always dissenting views on intelligence, but if they turn out to be correct, that doesn't make the consensus fraudulent.
I have no doubt that they let the CIA et al. know what consensus they were hoping for/expecting, and that influenced the intelligence reports they got. But, again, not fraud.
Now, the sales pitch for the ACA? That was fraud, and we have Obama insiders confirming that they lied.
But that's different, because BOOOOOOOOOSH!!!111!!!
The allegations of Iraqi involvement with 9/11 were total bullshit.
The nukes were the debatable point.
The allegations of Iraqi involvement with 9/11 were total bullshit.
The nukes were the debatable point.
I don't recall those allegations. The case for Iraq was made for a different reason.
Like Saddam selling oil in Euros.
Let me refresh your memory.
Damn, was hoping for a twerking video.
The link specifically says that they did not claim a Saddam 9/11 link.
"The Bush administration view, as defined by the Colin Powell speech before the UN, postulated that there might have been a cooperative relationship, but that Saddam was not supportive of the 9/11 attacks."
I think the Bush administration was less than honest. That said, Iraq was violating the terms of the peace treaty from Gulf War One, which seems a legit reason to attack them. Assuming we had any business being involved in GWO.
They had violated the UN resolutions seventeen times. Why was seventeen the magic number and why was the US mostly unilaterlly enforcing UN resolutions?
Saddam was dick but that doesn't justify war.
So much this... was casus belli for the invasion of Iraq a case of horrible group think, incompetence, bureaucratic inertia and choosing information that fit a predetermined conculsion on the part intelligence community? Very much so.
Willful deception? I remain unconvinced, stupidity is almost always a more plausible explanation.
But we can't possibly make that many different papier m?ch? likenesses!
Um... He was the Commander in Chief.
Yes, Commander-in-Chief, not God-Emperor, he had no constitutional power to make unilateral war, so he is far from the only culprit. AND, unlike W, many of the same people around at that time are there today.
The executive has an extreme amount of power when it comes to war (albeit constitutionally debate). Was congress complicit? Absolutely, but do you really think the Iraq war would have happened WITHOUT Bush, Cheney, and co?
*debatable
Could we stop blaming W for this war already?
Um...how about NO!
jesus
That's... what he's saying. The country is going to elect someone that voted for the war.
And if W "wanted it and pushed for it," it's fair to call it "his" war, isn't it?
So? remake of Charade with Iraq War cash instead of WWII gold?

Yeah, I think Trump is remembering that movie as a documentary.
I was unaware this attack was coming from Democrats. I've seen it being pumped at Mark Kevin's Conservative Review, Kristol's Weekly Standard, and John Podhertz on Twitter.
It really is true that Trump has all the right enemies.

Before I go medieval on their asses, I'd like to know more details simply because the English were involved. But it sounds as though by all accounts, the Russians are being pains in the necks. Which isn't surprising considering most fan violence comes from Eastern Europe now.
Supposedly, there was violence surrounding the Russia/Slovakia game, too.

Oh joy, CHAV speak (detestable creatures, those CHAVS - they're only good for keeping Islamo-Mohammedans in check). This phrase doesn't TransLit worth a diddley, which I'll explain with Her Blessed lap83 of the Veiney Bosom.
Anyhoo, assuming the primary reason to use this phrase is to either rub someone the wrong way, or more commonly, pick a fight, use this:
Cho jeto? Nu skazhete, sukin syn!? (??? ???? ?? ???????, ????? ???!)
Means, "What's that (up)? Tell me, you son of a bitch!), and be prepared to throw down like you mean it, and pack a lunch.
If you're trying to be just a garden variety annoyance, "Nu pagodi!" (?? ??????!) will suffice.
Means roughly, "You'll get yours! (Karma)" - this is also the title of an extremely popular, old timey, Russian cartoon, kinda like Tom & Jerry, so's your target won't take you super serial.

The worst article I have seen about the gay pride parade guy to date.
He's being held on $2 million bail for something that's perfectly legal in most other states.
And here's the money quote. In reference to binary explosives, a novelty used for target practice:
"When mixed with the gasoline, he said, it becomes ammonium nitrate, an explosive fuel oil used in the April 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City that killed 168 people and injured nearly 700 others, Carney said."
I'm no chemist, but that doesn't seem exactly right.
I can put sugar in his tank. And when I mix it with flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, vanilla and butter it becomes cake.

"..it becomes ANFO", not just "ammonium nitrate".
He had camouflage clothing and gasoline in the tank.
Clearly, sir, the facts are well-established.
He obviously identified as a cis-hetero shitlord.
the prosecutor wants an easy "terrorism" prosecution for his record.
And as long as the public aint complaining, nothing will stop him either.
Assuming that's true (and I'm pretty sure its not), it also becomes ammonium nitrate that is mixed in with all sorts of other impurities - those chemical reactions don't isolate themselves.
Also, ammonium nitrate is *not* an explosive fuel oil. Its *mixed with* fuel oil to create an explosive - so anything this Carney guy says on this subject should be automatically dismissed until a reliable third source corroborates.
However, whatever his intentions were, driving around with 20lbs of low-explosive pre-mixed and ready to go in your car is a pretty stupid fucking thing to do and a decent hazard to others even if you're just an innocent moron.
Well, the gasoline is low-explosive, I suppose.
Shoc-shot is also a low-explosive. its just an unstable one but its explosive power isn't even as great as gunpowder.
Hey Ed, Trump was right when he suggested to the NRA that it would be common sense to deny those on the terrorist watch list the right to purchase weapons.
Why can't libertarians accept the truth?
Whoever could have guessed you'd be a big fan of authoritarian braggadocio

Dimwit: Wrong EVERY time!
Sounds like a great idea, denying due process before stripping constitutional rights. I can't see this turning bad.
Everybody knows that if the President gives it more than three seconds consideration, that's due process.
If the president does it, it's not illegal.
It's common sense, dude.
It's the truth, dude.
As President my first action would be to put the 535 members of Congress on the list.
It's just an accident, of course, I pinky-swear!
I accept the truth that you're an authoritarian, yet cowardly shitbag who has no qualms about using government jackboots to infringe upon the rights of your political enemies.
It's the common sense thing that libertarians have a problem with.
If by common sense you mean blatantly utilitarian and statist, then yeah.
Blatantly sensible, it is.
Yeah, ask France and Mexico and the UK how blatantly senseless disarming random people is.

You mean the Terrorist Watch List that you can get on if some dip in the bureaucracy confuses names or hits the wrong button? The one featuring 53 nonviolent protesters misclassified as terrorists by Maryland State Police?
Yeah, great idea -- strip thousands of innocent citizens of their rights without due process. Come up with a plan to fix that list or gtfo with that authoritarian bullshit.
Political activists, not protesters
Definitely a great idea.
But it's not a sideways attempt to ban guns outright! Pinky swear!
+1 Buttle
I'm more than happy for Assachusetts commie symps to be forbidden from purchasing weapons.
Translation: Jackand Ace likes that Trump wants to keep guns out of Muslim hands.
Just those on the terrorist watch list, including any Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and atheists, if they are on there. You too, if you're there.
What is the due process to get on a list that denies you fundemental rights?
Also, Jackand Ace, no-one on the watch lists have been convicted of a crime? That's why their watch lists rather than arrest lists.
But I guess you like the idea of taking away rights because people don't look quite right, don't smell quite right, or don't worship quite right.
Did you snap your heels when posting that?
Just their rights to purchase a weapon. Yep, that's right. You got it. Well done.
Jackand Ace|6.15.16 @ 8:10PM|#
"Just their rights to purchase a weapon."
Amazing! You got something right!
Yes, it is exactly that; a right to purchase weapons among other things without government interference. And I know the last just burns, right? I mean for a proggy like you, nothing should be done without government direction.
Why people might be considered moral agents instead of infantile creatures like yourself.
But Sevo, Jack knows there will be Top Men overseeing that list. Working to protect you and me from each other.
Are you sure we can't take away any other rights? We should probably stop them from spreading dangerous rhetoric on the web. It may be best to deny them a driver's license as well, to thwart their ability to travel and plot or use their car as a weapon.
Hey Jackand Ace - how do you get on the terrorist watchlist? Hint: Its not by being a terrorist, associating with terrorists, or publicly supporting terrorism.
Making jokes about wood chippers?
this is the second time you've asserted that these lists are comprised of "mostly muslims"
Have you ever actually seen the contents of either the no-fly or "watch"-lists, or are you simply intuiting this?
Back in 2004 Ted Kennedy was apparently on that list. If only there had been a no drive several decades earlier at Chappaquiddick.
Back in 2006-7, I was myself on the "secondary screening" list.
My point was that ed's assumptions are just that. he has no idea who's on these lists. No one does. which is part of why they're a problem. Projecting his assumptions as fact actually perpetuates the narrative that they serve some needed purpose.
And I bet when you were on the secondary screening list you never hijacked a plane, shot up a gay night club, kicked puppies, or ripped the tag off your mattress. Am I right? So the list WORKED!
Jackand Ace approves of this message!

"Trump Derangement Syndrome leads to Democrats whitewashing the Iraq war."
Without Obama there to tell them, nobody on the left knows which side of any issue they're supposed to be on anymore.
Progressives are starting to sound like war hawks nostalgic for the Cold War. Was it really easier to be a capitalist when most everyone was against the communists, or was it really just easier for the right to act like statists when the communists were making corporatism and unions seem tame by comparison?
Same thing with progressives today. They're quickly becoming nostalgic for the good ol' days, when they could rail against the homophobic, racist Obama haters and their hateful wars. Now half the hawks on the right who want to go to war want to go to war to protect gays, and the rest of the right is denouncing religious fanatics (albeit Muslims) for being intolerant of women and homosexuals.
Progressivism as we know it may not be able to withstand people thinking about the issues for themselves. The white, redneck, homophobic, warhawk may soon be about as hip and contemporary as that Fonzie guy all the kids these days are so crazy about.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey.

The 1 I bolded. The 1st choice isn't true, because lots of people looked to democratic socialism, as a likely way to deflect communism. The other possibility they looked to was something like democratic fascism or dirigisme, which fit right in w the 2nd choice. So it wasn't easier to be in favor of free enterprise, but it was easier for those with capital to gain power?capitalism ini the true meaning of the term (as opposed to free enterprise).
Well, yeah, but also true of "conservatism". I'm amazed at the transparent talking points & formulas adopted by both, positions they have memorized once they're handed to them. Like the "pro-life" position of wanting to criminalize giving an abortion, but not receiving one because "the woman is a victim too". How could they possibly sincerely believe that? And progressives flitting from position to position re sexual consciousness.
AFAICT, today's "conservatism" has its origins in the need to repopulate Europe from the plagues & Crusades, but none of the "conservatives" actually have any reasons for their combination of beliefs now. "Progressives" just want to fuck w everybody, inducing guilt by making sure nobody is ever really righteous, because nobody is ever right.
Robert|6.15.16 @ 9:26PM|#
"AFAICT, today's "conservatism" has its origins in the need to repopulate Europe from the plagues & Crusades,"
For everything I've read, I have never seen a suggestion of that claim.
Do you have cites or perhaps an argument to support that?
The progressive alliance pretty much only holds itself together through shared hatred for square, bad-white Christian males, which leads to bizarre scenarios like gay progs going out of their way to defend Muslim homophobes who want to kill them (if not now, then eventually), because at least they also despise those meanies that don't want to give them cake.
As the hate becomes more overt and actual persecution ratchets up, it is going to create a strong sense of identity in that SBWCM community. The progs seem to think it will wake those people up to how privileged they are, but I think (insofar as that "privilege" is mostly a prog excuse for their own inferiority) the more likely scenario is an awakening to the realization that there is a powerful group that wants to persecute and destroy them for how they were born, and that no compromise is possible because that group cannot survive without hate.
Barring the collapse of progressivism from its internal contradictions or some blossoming of liberalism from people sick of its puritanism and toxicity (and both scenarios are fairly plausible), it's going to produce at minimum an aggressively defensive white nationalist movement, if not actual fascism, in response.
But progressivism in recent decades has done us a favor by diverting the "left" away from socialism & more toward "loony left" causes. If they'd stayed focused on socialism the past 40-50 yrs., we'd've been a lot worse off by now.
Barring the collapse of progressivism from its internal contradictions or some blossoming of liberalism from people sick of its puritanism and toxicity (and both scenarios are fairly plausible), it's going to produce at minimum an aggressively defensive white nationalist movement, if not actual fascism, in response.
Or people will start simply pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes. The reality I've seen is that those screaming the loudest about "privilege" are some of the most advantaged runts you run across. The leader of the U. Missouri protests, to cite just one example, is the child of a multimillionaire railroad executive. He's going to tell me how I'm privileged? Is anyone with a an IQ above room temperature going to try to say that Jim-Bob the son of an unemployed coal miner in Appalachia is "privileged" relative to Sasha and Malia Obama? This nonsense holds sway in the universities. But, I think you'll find it collapses when you try to take it out of its "safe space".
No doubt some portion of those billions went missing and ended up in the pockets of some crooked soldiers. But, Trump being Trump, I doubt he has any knowledge of solid proof of the theft. He probably heard about it from some twitterer and is just repeating rumors and innuendo and conspiracy theories, as usual. This particular rumor might have a kernel of truth but it doesn't let Trump off the hook for making it clear what he really means. If you read his original remarks, he does leave the impression that he thinks soldiers generally are corrupt, not just the few bad ones who stole money.
They're government-sector workers. Why wouldn't they be corrupt?
Well, unlike your typical DMV stooge who is just marking time and collecting a paycheck, I would imagine that the majority of soldiers, if not most of them, enlist for a higher purpose: patriotism, pride, honor and glory, family traditions.
How many of them don't accept the pay?
Unlike previous armies in previous centuries, you can't pay our army on spoils and pillage.
They are now paid with coercion. When veterans groups call and ask for even more of my money I ask if they only serve drafted Vietnam veterans.
My dad had 18 months stolen from his life courtesy of the peacetime draft. Is he chopped liver?
Compared to what conscripts in Vietnam were exposed to and forced to do? Yup.

They all stole money because (a) it is an all volunteer military and (b) it was coerced out of my paycheck.
If the Shoc Shot is anything like Tannerite then it needs a rifle bullet to set it off. Tannerite will not burn if you attempt to set it on fire or if you shoot it with a handgun round. A handgun round will just waste the target, spraying dust everywhere.
I do believe there are explosive targets available for handguns and .22lr. They're fun, if you have the space to use them. We always mixed two together to get a bigger boom.
So two new FB posts on gun ownership:
i) Friend of mine who lived in Ireland posted about how Ireland tightly controls gun ownership and then finished by noting that "sure there are illegal guns but mostly in the hands of gangsters." Umm, so, when Ireland outlawed guns, only outlaws have guns?
ii) Another friend posted a meme about we should treat guns like cars: license, address, insurance, etc. Good idea, let's also do that with, say, the first amendment.
#2) don't give them any ideas.
Leftists never were for real free speech. Now they claim that words are just as hurtful as physical violence, so really your freedom to speech doesn't include anything that makes others "feel" "unsafe".
There's literally not enough fucking scare quotes to go around. These are fascists that only think what they like is allowed, and everything they don't like should be banned under threat of violence
I don't see progressivism receding. It's been steadily growing since the early 20th century and showing little signs of abating.
Maybe I'm a pessimist.
Scare quote shortage! WHAR MY SCARE QUOTES GO?
They were for free speech when they were the minority (campus protests in the 60s). After 8 years of Obama, the feel empowered and and would rather shut it down.
So it should be as easy to get your gun license as it is a driver's license? And a rite of passage to boot?
Well since this person is a fellow academic, I thought I might suggest that if she was to teach (i.e. exercise her first amendment rights), she should go through the same process.
But I'm also cognizant of esteve7's point above.
Whenever a prog says we should treat guns like we do cars, I tell them I'm more than happy to register and insure my firearms (a total lie, of course, but it serves its purpose) if we can buy a gun without a background check just like cars, if we can buy any car we want across state lines without going through a dealer just like cars, if the license exam is a simple operator's test just like cars, and the license renewal is a simple vision test just like cars.
Typically, their response to that is, "Well, it's not a perfect analogy, but blah blah blah" Oh, so now that you've been shown the ramifications of your shitty analogy without thinking it through, you're trying to back out? Same waffling happens when I tell them I'm happy to remove the cap on Social Security if we maintain proportional returns on SS checks for billionaires, or return to Eisenhower-era tax rates if we can go back to Eisenhower's $800 billion-inflation-adjusted, 50% DoD-dedicated spending.
They really are totalitarians who think it's their way or no way. So best to just treat them as the enemy and assume no good faith on their part. They'll be "well-intentioned" all the way to marching us to the camps the second we're forced to turn in our modest firepower.
Plus, every 15 year old gets a training course, at public school, in the use of a car/gun and is issued a learner's permit afterward, and you can take your car/gun to any state and they have to recognize the license.
License to Shoot, starring Heather Graham and the Coreys. A 16 year old fails his gun test, but shoots anyway to get the girl.
shoots anyway to get the girl.
Then I got Mary pregnant
And man that was all she wrote
And for my nineteenth birthday

+1 I come from down in the valley
I have no doubt this will be proposed in my lifetime.
Well, since there are no restrictions on owning a car that never leaves your property, that doesn't sound half bad.
"sure there are illegal guns but mostly in the hands of gangsters."
Isn't that pretty much the scenario in the US?
"we should treat guns like cars: license, address, insurance, etc. Good idea, let's also do that with, say, the first amendment."
Yet, "progressives" have a conniption fit over the fact that you have to get a driver's license to vote. Apparently, asking for ID is tantamount to banning poor people from voting, but asking for an ID (plus a background check, waiting period, etc.) for a gun purchase is A-OK.
#2 is pretty funny. So all states have shall-issue laws for guns and universal reciprocity for legal carry. Teenagers can carry as early as fourteen. Most crimes involving a firearm are misdemeanor violations, typically punishable with a fine or at most a brief court appearance. Only in very serious cases can gun crimes result in forfeiture, and even then it's not typically permanent and only carries a prison sentence in the most egregious circumstances. Obtaining a commercial class license allows me to operate heavy artillery. And so on.
Treating guns like cars would make for a very liberal gun control scheme.
Oh, and unless the gun is used in the commission of a crime, merely owning own or having it present during a crime is not sufficient to charge the possessor with a separate crime for carrying it.
So if I get a gun license, it'll be good in all 50 states?
Or a concealed carry license?
I'm having trouble drawing a car analogy there.
Emissions testing. My state does not require it. But if I visit one that does I should not be required (and am not currently required) to have my temporary visiting vehicle tested.
I like where this is going.
My state has a annual safety inspection with a colored dash sticker to show LEOs compliance. Other states do not. But we don't prohibit those cars from entering or driving around on our roads.
But when I enter a non-free state I am required to take my firearm off my body, unload it, lock it away, lock the ammo elsewhere, and if it is particularly scary maybe I can't bring it in that state at all.

"Emissions testing. My state does not require it. But if I visit one that does I should not be required (and am not currently required) to have my temporary visiting vehicle tested."
Playa, do I have to find the book?
There was a trial regarding a slave whose 'owner' brought him to CA. At the time, slave 'owners' were allowed to traverse a free state and retain 'ownership' of the slave.
Well, it's kinda hard to 'traverse' CA and the trial went on with various appeals; the guy was finally freed (Hey turd! He didn't have "Constitutional Rights"!)
Oops, this was ~1860.
I do like the 'license' argument after a mass shooting. As if what is really missing in our gun laws is ensuring that a future murderer is sufficiently trained in using his firearm.
a.) This in the Centenary of the Easter Rising. How well would the rebellion have fared if His Majesty's Government had been able to stop all gunrunning?
II.) Amen.

You know who else went to war and stole a bunch of money (among other things)?
Kelly's Heroes?
James Polk?
Barry Lyndon?
Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach?
I love watching stumble upon the facts. He's like the construction worker carrying a ten foot pole on his shoulder and accidentally whacking passers by as he spins around to check out a hot chick's rack.
These facts, and Democrats' incredible cognitive dissonance in supporting a president who has [illegally] ordered the [unconstitutional] killing of thousands of Muslims via drone strikes and other military campaigns around the world while claiming only Republicans are the party of war.
FIFY.
They'd be calling for Bush to be strung up by the balls if he started drone-striking poor brown people in Third World countries.
You're full of shit. Muslims in Yemen don't have Constitutional rights.
Brain so small. Penis so small. Ah-so.
The constitution restricts what our government and our president can do.
Take your personal issues elsewhere.
Right over your head, turd! You're built too close to the ground.
You're an idiot. I recognized the insult. I just turned it on the little guy.
Palin's Buttplug|6.15.16 @ 10:43PM|#
"I just turned it on the little guy."
So you finally figured it out? Not only too low to the ground, but entirely too stupid.
BTW
"The constitution restricts what our government and our president can do."
If I had a dime....
'It doesn't say anything about that right in the Constitution...'
Correct. It also says nothing about my right to buy a beer and a hot-dog at the ball park.
As you point out, the Constitution does not grant rights, it limits the activity of government. Turd's not real quick on the uptake...
I am an ACLU donor, you stupid fairy.
What is the ACLU's position on my natural and Constitutional right to own and carry an AK47?
The ACLU supports the RKBA. So do I.
I'm a purist. I support the right to own and carry plastic guns but GOP/Dems do not.
"The ACLU supports the RKBA."
Umm....
ACLU POSITION
Given the reference to "a well regulated Militia" and "the security of a free State," the ACLU has long taken the position that the Second Amendment protects a collective right rather than an individual right.

I'm not surprised that you support an outfit which is extremely selective regarding that rights they defend, nor am I surprised that a stupid piecer of shit like you thinks that means something.
Your daddy was right; he shoulda taught you to swim by tossing you in a lake tied in a bag.
He killed actual Americans, you moron. Including a 16 year old.
And that still doesn't give him the authority to just drop bombs whenever the hell he wants, without getting congressional approval. (Don't give me that AUMF bullshit, that was for Al-Qaeda not ISIS.)
Let the authorities in Yemen take it up then.
Al-Awarhi (sp?) was an enemy combatant.

"Al-Awarhi (sp?) was an enemy combatant."
Was that the 16YO, turd? I question you since you rarely ever post without lying.
BTW, did you ever pay off the bet?
You're an idiot if you think people everywhere have US Constitutional rights like due process and religious freedom.
The fucker in Yemen deserved to get grease-fried.
What he deserved, and what he was entitled to receive, are two different things.
Everyone has inalienable rights, even Yemenis.
"Natural" rights?
They are a load of horseshit. Everyone SHOULD have Western style rights for sure but they don't - which means natural rights don't exist.
I have asked every "natural rights" proponent to give me a full list of such rights and they cannot. Here in the US I have the right to blaspheme and women have the right for a scrape - yet no conservative will acknowledge those plainly existent rights.
Yemenis are subject to the rights/laws their government says they have. Period. End of story.
Because the full list of 'natural rights' is pretty close to infinity items long.
You have all the rights. All of them.
You have the natural right to be a slimeball and an idiot simultaneously. And at both you excel.
"Everyone SHOULD have Western style rights for sure but they don't - which means natural rights don't exist."
If I don't have a Porsche, does that mean Porsches don't exist?
Governments ought to respect and protect natural rights, but their failures to do so does not mean that the rights themselves don't exist.
Natural rights are a simple concept. They are the license that you have to do the things that you do as an individual human being born with inherent dignity and self-worth. It places the burden of proof on the state for having to prove why they believe they are entitled to restrict your liberties, rather than you having the burden of proof to justify to the state why you ought to have permission to engage in some activity.
There is no complete list of natural rights because we continue to discover them and understand them. Like the natural world all around us has unexplained mysteries that we attempt to understand over time, so too with rights and liberties.
"There is no complete list of natural rights because we continue to discover them and understand them."
I prefer to see the reciprocal; there is no list of things which we cannot do, other than infringing what might harm another.
There is no need of a list of what we are 'allowed' to do.
Palin's Buttplug|6.15.16 @ 10:36PM|#

Turd says if the government doesn't grant rights, they don't exist!
But turd isn't real bright.
Paid off the bet yet, turd?
List the rights they "SHOULD" have. Then ask yourself where the list of those rights they should have came from. Not the government... So some other place...natural...God given.
If you believe there is a list of rights they should have you have conceded they don't come from government.
you're an idiot if you think there are such things as 'US Constitutional rights'.
There are Human rights - and you and everyone else in the world have them.

Yes, he is. He thinks the government allows and grants us certain "rights". He has no idea of what being a free person means; he thinks it's asking some bureaucrat for permission to do something.
He and that dimbulb Jack; a perfect pair!

Interesting development:
The guy who was arrested in Santa Monica on his way to the gay pride parade was evidently in CA to escape an imminent arrest for child molestation.
Okay, now you're just making shit up.
http://www.dailybreeze.com/gen.....olestation
Jesus, this kid is like a prosecutor's wet dream.
Where's he from again? let me guess - *Indiana*?
re: indiana - I must have heard it when the story first came out.
but that was my thought when he was busted with a carfull of guns and boom booms = "well, he's just a kid from indiana planning a fun weekend; people get so bored there they *need* to do that shit"
Bad form for this "daily breeze" site to not link to the actual news stories they're sourcing their reports to. They never mention the chicas age.
Wait, I thought earlier sources said the guy was gay.
Bisexual. or so it was suggested.
they mentioned in the first story that he had a "boyfriend"; and quoted someone who said he had no anti-gay animus, and identified as Bi
i'm pretty sure the CA authorities will still push the idea that he was aiming to commit some anti-gay terror-crime regardless.
Tri.
He likes little kids too.
"Trisexual"
I thought that was girls, boys, and trannies. Or all the above, plus a tricycle fetish.
re: little kids = they never actually said how old she was. he says, "preteen" but i doubt parents would be suggesting they knew about it and thought it was ok if that were the case.
Quad.
I'm going to state my prediction that we'll learn very soon that he fucked animals too.
Check his passport for a Canada stamp.
"I'm going to state my prediction that we'll learn very soon that he fucked animals too."
Raised on a farm, you say?
Indiana.
So he's Muslim?
Tri? Maybe ATM.
"The guy who was arrested in Santa Monica on his way to the gay pride parade was evidently in CA to escape an imminent arrest for child molestation."
I can remember joking: 'Holy cow! The only thing they haven't got (some idiot) for is diddling some kids!'
Well, there ya go...
30 round mags, diddling kids...
Pretty much the same penalty in CA.
Today at DLI, there was a team race for all the 4 branches. The Army teams won both races (men & women). The Marines were 2nd. The USMC detachment commander chewed them out for losing.
About a week ago, there was a ceremony and I was in the Army formation. The ceremony required us to stand outside mostly at attention for about 40 minutes. It wasn't very hot that day, but it was humid. A few couldn't take the heat. 8 airmen fell out of the USAF formation, 6 from the Navy, 3 from the Army, and 1 from the USMC, thus reinforcing the stereotype about the relative toughness of the average member of each branch.
I'm just shocked that members of the armed forces take casualties even while standing still in california.
re: reinforcing stereotypes =
i was expecting the airmen to file a complaint demanding chairs, the sailors to all start sucking each others dicks, the army somehow manages to lose $100million dollars getting into formation, and the marines all freak out because it turns out a girl can stand still just as good as any of the dudes can.
Where? Are we talking on the coast?
If so, shame shame shame
The main DLI post in Monterey, CA.
You mean where it was 65 degrees today?
God help us all.
Hey, I did get a mild sun burn today. So there's that.
Another day in the life of a real American hero....

Fun fact: most of the C (charlie) companies in the Army have a Cobra as a mascot. I've been in 2 cobra companies so far. One of the previous C company commanders here dressed up as Cobra Commander for Halloween.
that's sad. there should be a "clown" company. nothing promotes peace like laughter.
I hauled around a ton of melamine fixtures from a jobsite we demo'd today... one of our crew didn't make it out, a casualty of a (possibly) broken toe from dropping a panel on his foot. I followed it up by clearing out the boss's rental. It was 90+ degrees in full sunlight. I was pouring sweat. Where the hell are my bennies?!
I'd say my chances of dying are less than rates in the armed forces, but New Mexico is probably pretty high on the list for homicides/suicides/heat stroke.
Melamine fixtures?
Like MDF coated in melamine?
Yep. Thankfully it breaks easily, and composite board is light enough.
Playa Manhattan.|6.15.16 @ 11:33PM|#
"Melamine fixtures?"
What you get when Formica is too expensive.
Holds up okay in commercial applications, though. Which is to say: skids buff out well enough.
In the bottle on the right, next to the greenies and black beauties?
Marine rifleman (but I repeat myself) steps off with 45 lbs of gear and a 105 lb pack on and says 'I eat this shit up!'
Army infantryman steps off with 30 lbs of gear and a 90 lb pack and says 'I LOVE' this shit!'
Navy Seabee loads his pack in the back of the HMMWV and say 'This is shit is great!'
Air Force Staff Sergeant sits down in front of his computer in an air conditioned room and says 'Hey! Email's down! What the shit is this?!'
OT, but I have been pondering the possibility of Trump actually being elected president from the perspective of a California citizen in the federation. What's going to happen next. here? CA will declare itself a sanctuary state, a small step up from sanctuary cities I will bet dollars to donuts on that.
I will let the commentariat fill in the rest on what happens in a pending reverse American Civil War where the rebels want the feds to rule but the majority of the states don't.
Wouldn't they need to know something about guns to start a war?
The San Jose PD has well armed cops who make $300k/year who want to retire in Idaho at 50. So there's that.
They can't really retire somewhere that they've fought against.
The Carpetbaggers did it.
The carpet baggers won the war.
Muslim world responses to the Orlando shooting:
Iran foreign ministry: "The Islamic Republic of Iran deplores deaths of civilians in cold-blood terrorism and is determined to seriously thwart menaces of terrorism as an ominous phenomenon."
Homosexuality is illegal in Iran and is punishable by death.
Pakistan PM: "No innocent man, woman or child should ever feel afraid of being shot or killed for being who they are in a progressive and democratic society. This is against every principle of pluralism, tolerance and humanity that we have been striving for. This does not represent the will of a vast majority of Muslims."
Pakistan has punished homosexuality by death in the past in both civil and Islamic law. These days, the most likely outcome is jail and fines.
Saudi Arabia foreign ministry: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns in the strongest terms the attack on innocent people in Orlando, Florida, and sends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to the people of the United States."
Saudi Arabia is one of 10 Muslim countries with the death penalty for homosexuality.
the fact they said anything at all is a sign that Trump scares the allah out of them.
To be fair, the Pakistan PM isn't really in charge.
that is true.
when i get together with my ex-gf's UN worker-friends, we play drinking games like, "Name that pakistani politician!"
- assassinated (one of 3 possible methods)
- one with most attempted assassinations
- exiled
- impeached
- mysterious plane crash
etc.
Yes, but Mateen wasn't a faqih trained in Islamic jurisprudence who could properly determine if the men and women had indeed committed the sin of zina, and if so, what was the magnitude of their sin and mete out the proper punishment as determined by sharia.
...and Coors committed the sin of Zima.
You notice one thing all those nations have in common (other than that homosexuality is a capital crime)?
Its that they all deplore *vigilantes* (read: Terrorists) meting out 'justice' as that is a function reserved solely to the state and its monopoly on violence.
They don't care that it was *homosexuals* being killed - that's nothing to them - but that someone is usurping the privileges reserved to the state.
Meh, they're states decrying terrorism / vigilante justice.
Spot the Not: Obama on Islam
1. The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.
2. Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.
3. "The Holy Koran tells us, "O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another."
4. I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.
5. Islam was and is a religion of peace, and the Prophet Mohamed was a wise and just man.
6. In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.
I'll go with #3

Isn't that the plot of the Smurfs?
Yeah, that's typo.
Good catch.
Damnit! Stick that extra "a" into the sentence above.
No winners so far...

Yeah, that's Bush, not Obama.
Aloha Snackbar! A winner!
So I'm listening to a song called Coleus Sanctus. The name means "holy bag" but coleus by itself means scrotum.
The video had an ad to raise awareness for binge eating disorder, which I guess is what they're calling gluttony these days.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgkD-GPjIRI
They sing in latin?
they seem to feel like there was something left on the table with the whole "costumes and make-up metal"-thing
"no one's ever really done *medieval-catholic-german-goth!"
They should try a version sounding vaguely like a Muezzin uttering the call to prayer, that should sell like hotcakes.
You mean like this?
Was expecting Tunak Tunak Tun, not disappointed anyway.
This is good song for running/breaking the speed limit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13ydT52E9zo
My favorite song for reckless driving: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIdGxR-aU6o
The latter is "Time is Tight" by Booker T and the MG's
(half of whom were in the Blues Bros band)
i think it was their set opener for like 2 decades. the record-version tempo is slightly faster than how they played it live, and slower than the BB-movie version
OK, get out on the highway, hit the accelerator, and play this - you won't be able to stay anywhere *near* the speed limit!
Oops, I mean crank this tune up.
Speed kills.
Hmmm...
I'm bound to get this right eventually. Try this.
the whole retro-synth-wave thing which started a few years ago has a few bands obsessed with "Driving Music". Some of it is/was quite good, and much better/less pretentious IMO than the newer 'vaporwave' thing which is basically a spinoff of the same idea.
i don't know what i'd play if i wanted "fast/crazy" driving music. Maybe Kid606 but only because i referenced it last night to someone else.
There is only one acceptable driving music track.
Oh, and you've heard of Simpsonwave, right? If you haven't, I'm not kidding. It's a real thing.
i didn't even know the whole vaporwave A E S T H E T I C b.s. existed until you flagged that for me.
i've always been cool with the absurdity of endless genre proliferation, but i have zero patience for people who get all arty-poseur about the latest "slight variation in tempo/samples"
I know. Klaypex has an amusing track lightly mocking that very characteristic of EDM.
An answer to an upthread query, HM.
Re: Miami Nights 1984 - Holy crap this stuff ain't bad.
Laserhawk, Mitch Murder are also worth checking out if you like that stuff.
I've never been a huge fan of what I'll broadly call "Techno," admittedly because I got tired of the snobbery between competing genres, the likes of which I couldn't tell the difference to save my life. Lately though I've found a liking for the 80s-style synth stuff, if only because I really liked the vibe I got from The Protomen. Thanks for the heads-up.
it tends to have better melody. which takes more creative effort than most of the other stuff in the big EDM-soup

Thousands of Muslim migrants in Europe have converted to Christianity:
http://www.npr.org/sections/pa.....ty-beckons
I'm not going to click the link... but I am going to guess that those conversions are either conveniently timed or otherwise suspect.
That is most of the story, focusing on a guy who is mulling a conversion to lower his odds of being returned to Afghanistan. Still, conversions are not some extraordinary thing, and thousands (over "recent years") is not a whole lot.
For many people , religion is not a passion or something intellectually-engaged so much as a superficial sign of group-identification.
I imagine many immigrants really *do* want to assimilate in their host country, and see conversion as something that will facilitate that. and it doesn't have to be entirely cynically interpreted. I imagine many may have lived in islam but had distaste for aspects of it long before migrating.
many migrants to the US changed their religions as well as their names when they arrived.
It's not just superficial; a certain percentage of those folks have had a true conversion, and should be welcomed in the fold.
Many may be searching for wives and extra help with employment, language acculturation, and bring a sincere desire to contribute to a Christian congregation, which can really buy some capital of goodwill.
The majority, well, watch your wives, daughters, and young sons...
which is what i was trying to say. - that the most cynical view is just one of many possibilities, and that the genuine are surely among them.
But wait, I thought Muslims were simple-minded barbarians who only possessed the animal-like instincts to wage jihad and kill. You are telling me that they are actual human beings who are capable of doing things that non-Muslims are? No way!
So share your thought-farts on Mormons and Baptists as well.
Oh, heck with it, I just sit back to a few verses of Kumbaya or something by Lawrence Welk.

Re: Trump Derangement Syndrome - Trump is the one who is deranged. Is he really a "Republican who says he opposed the Iraq War from the beginning"? Trump, as usual, as with most topics, has been all over the place on this topic. Trump is never consistent. Trump's the biggest flip-flopper of them all. Trump indicated his support for war in a radio interview with Howard Stern on Sept. 11, 2002 ? a little more than six months before the war started. Stern asked Trump directly if he supported going to war with Iraq, and Trump hesitantly responded, "Yeah, I guess so."
