Prince, Curt Schilling, and the Acceleration of History
Cultural changes can happen quite quickly.

History is a slow and usually undetectable process, with change happening in microscopic increments. But sometimes, you can see and feel the world changing, and we've just experienced one of those moments.
In recent days, there was the sudden death of Prince, a musician whose "gender fluidity and sexual ambiguity granted a kind of permission for future musicians, queer and otherwise, to explore new means of expression of the self and sexuality," said Slate. The Treasury Department announced it will put Harriet Tubman on the front of the $20 bill and move Andrew Jackson to the back.
Curt Schilling got fired by ESPN for jeering at the idea of letting transgender people use the restroom compatible with their gender identity. Southwest Airlines drew unwanted attention when it removed a passenger who was heard speaking Arabic.
A federal court ruled in favor of a transgender boy who sued to use the boys' restrooms at his Virginia high school. A Chicago Blackhawks player was suspended for one playoff game for yelling a homophobic slur from the penalty box.
The implications of such events were not lost on some people, notably Donald Trump. He denounced Jackson's treatment as "pure political correctness" and suggested putting Tubman on the $2 bill.
Keep the white male slaveholder on a widely used currency note and consign the black female escaped slave to a bill that is rarely seen? Anyone who wondered whether Trump intentionally exploits white racial resentments need wonder no more.
Ted Cruz was soon flinging the charge of political correctness at none other than Trump—for indicating he would let transgender people relieve themselves wherever they feel comfortable. Cruz also condemned ESPN's dismissal of Schilling.
"Grown adult men—strangers—should not be alone in a bathroom with little girls," said Cruz. "That's basic common sense."
But is it basic common sense to force someone born with a vagina who has undergone sex reassignment surgery and hormone treatments and now has the body, as well as the personal identity, of a male to use the women's restroom?
It's hard to see how this approach would be workable as long as transgender people actually exist. Someone who lives, dresses and identifies as male is likely to cause far more distress in the women's stalls than in the men's.
What is apparent from the Cruz-Schilling objections is that they want transgender people to stay home, conceal their true nature or just disappear—just as long as "normal" people don't have to accommodate them.
The senator and his followers exhibit a similar attitude toward gays. Cruz appeals to homophobes much as Trump appeals to racists—in strident language that is only lightly coded. But he panders to a dwindling audience. A 2015 Gallup Poll found that 60 percent of Americans support same-sex marriage.
Blackhawk Andrew Shaw got a sense of how much attitudes have changed. The pejorative term he shouted has been used by players thousands of times on hockey rinks, football fields and baseball diamonds—and it may never have crossed his mind that it has attained the same status as the N-word.
He knows now. Shaw went before the cameras to make a humble apology. "I'll never use that word again," he said. Jonathan Toews, the team captain, said it was a "teachable moment," and the lesson went beyond sports.
When Khairuldeen Makhzoomi got pulled off his flight, a Southwest employee demanded, "Why would you speak in Arabic on the airplane?" The cops and the FBI were called. Like transgender people and African-Americans, Makhzoomi is apparently expected to do whatever it takes to avoid causing any concern to other people.
Having to alter one's behavior for the benefit of minorities who at one time could be safely demeaned and abused can be annoying. That's why the sentiments of Trump, Cruz and Schilling will always find some receptive ears. But they are increasingly at odds with what have come to be standards of civilized behavior.
Prince helped shape those standards. When he came along in the late 1970s, flamboyantly blurring racial and sexual lines, he raised hackles among those of a more conventional bent. (I know. I was one of them.) But his talent and dedication to his art made him impossible to ignore.
Unwilling to squeeze himself into the usual categories, Prince was one of those people who insist that the world make room for them. And guess what? It did, and it will.

No one has ever called someone else a faggot on the baseball diamond. It's a pastime, not a real sport.
Thanks. That was profound.

Good policy.
I just skip the articles as a matter of habit.
The problem with the transgender movement is the inability of supporters to define the distinction between transgenders and people claiming to be of the other sex than born, if there is one.
Until they do, it is a movement I can't support UNLESS they want to push for individual bathrooms rather than ones labeled by sex.
"But is it basic common sense to force someone born with a vagina who has undergone sex reassignment surgery and hormone treatments and now has the body, as well as the personal identity, of a male to use the women's restroom? "
FORCE ? Setting rules for public property usage is NOT force given that almost ALL public property is built with a purpose in mind and almost inherently discriminatory is some aspect.
The problem with the transgender movement is the inability of supporters to define the distinction between transgenders and people claiming to be of the other sex than born, if there is one.
The problem with the transracial movement is the inability of supporters to define the distinction between transracers and people claiming to be of another race than born, if there is one.
The problem with the transage movement is the inability of supporters to define the distinction between transagers and people claiming to be of another age than born, if there is one.
Talk about comparing apples and oranges. And oranges.
Think about it.
I don't think any transgender people (unless they are severely delusional) claim to actually literally be the other sex. The claim is that their minds are somehow mismatched to their bodies (or sometimes that they are physically sexually ambiguous).
When it comes to bathrooms, I say just do what would be least disruptive. It's only about what people are comfortable with.
Perhaps I should have specified those as a possible subset. The criticism over lack of a distinction in qualifying is still my position.
I just don't care. People are too obsessed with labels for their identity. Just be whatever kind of freak you want to be.
Not possible. You may not be a murder freak or a rapist freak.
Obviously.
K, be whatever kind of freak you want so long as you don't hurt other people or take their stuff. There is nothing harmful about a biological man who identifies, looks and behaves like a woman using a woman's restroom.
Now, the only Politically Correct place to use the bathroom in public, is well, in public....thank you, social justice - don't stand down-wind.
Your objection to the word "force" will be a lot more reasonable when I stop reading comments 'round here that call trans* folk using the right restroom "forced association" for everyone else in the stall.
I guess some people won't be happy until there's a TSA agent outside every public restroom, checking to make sure you have the right equipment before you're allowed in.
There are already laws against doing bad things to people. Adding another law won't stop them.
So you propose that someone be assigned to strip search or at least pat down people before they use a public bathroom so that they can be directed to the bathroom corresponding to their actual external genitalia, regardless of which gender they claim allegiance to?
We need another TSA, in other words. It can be part of a newly-created Department of Restroom Security. Who says government doesn't ever create jobs, only the private sector does?
PRINCE TWERNT NO FAGGIT
Gotta love progressive "culture", huge conflict over what bathrooms 0.1% of the people who are transgendered use. The requiring of written contracts for the sex 90% of people engage in...
When Khairuldeen Makhzoomi got pulled off his flight, a Southwest employee demanded, "Why would you speak in Arabic on the airplane?" The cops and the FBI were called.
Let the lawsuits begin.
Did he get it on film?
What was the airline's states reason for removing him?
The woman who reported him spoke Arabic and overheard something about a martyr. That's still not anywhere near to a good enough reason to boot him off the plane, but this isn't a clean-cut story with the narrative that CAIR and the media wants: some redneck who hates mooslims because they're brown.
http://www.npr.org/2016/04/20/.....from-plane
Of course NPR's headline is still "Flying While Muslim"...
Sure it is.
YEAH ITS LIEK U DON"T EVEN MERIKA BRO
I'm going to give the airline the benefit of the doubt because it's not in their interest to arbitrarily and illegally throw Muslims of their planes.
If they took this guy off it was because they were genuinely worried that they had potentially found a terrorist.
And the SJW screamers want airline personnel to be to scared to exercise any caution in these situations.
they were genuinely worried that they had potentially found a terrorist.
Everyone is potentially a terrorist.
And the SJW screamers want airline personnel to be to scared to exercise any caution in these situations.
Which is exactly what happened on 9/11
"While Billoo says she could see how hearing the word shahid might make someone raise an eyebrow, she says no single word spoken should be a problem."
Really? So I can say "bomb" as much as I want while travelling, and I won't be molested? If that line of argument works, I'm learning Arabic.
Prince was an artist, a performer, a showman, somebody trying to sell records. Whether he was trying to make a statement or just putting on a show, he had a reason to be flamboyant. The whole transgendered bathroom thing - you trying to make a statement or put on a show? If you're a dude who likes wearing dresses and make-up and high heels - and you look damn fine in a dress - nobody's gonna look twice at you using the ladies room. Same as if you're a woman with short hair and dressed like a lumberjack and you look like Dick Butkus, nobody's gonna think anything of you strolling into the men's room. So why does anybody need to know? If you're transgendered and you make sure everybody within a hundred yards of you at all times knows you're transgendered, you're putting on a show and piss off, take that identity politics shit somewhere else. The whole thing's a bunch of nonsense - how many times do you think you've shared a bathroom with a gay person? Was it a problem? Probably not, because you didn't know - nobody asked and nobody told. So what's the big deal with a transgendered person in the bathroom if you don't know's they're transgendered? Nothing - it's the damn "everybody's gotta know I'm transgendered and tell me what an admirable hero I am for it" that's the problem. It's all a damn show and we're being told we gotta applaud the performer. Go to hell, I'm just trying to use the bathroom here, does even taking a shit now gotta be a political statement?
Word.
"how many times do you think you've shared a bathroom with a gay person?"
WHAT?! How come this hasn't been reported?
And word to the part about using identity politics for heroism. Caitlyn did a number on people with that one.
Yeah, that's what I think. Use some common sense and do what is least likely to draw unnecessary attention. The toilet is a place to deal with necessary bodily functions. It doesn't need to be made political.
You seem confused.
Trans* folk using the bathroom that matches their gender identity aren't the ones making sure everybody within a hundred yards knows they're trans.
The conservative folks mandating that trans* folk use the bathrooms that match their birth certificates, that is, Caitlyn Jenner and Laverne Cox in the men's room, Buck Angel in the women's room, are the ones making sure everybody within a hundred yards knows.
I think you might have the cart and horse mixed up.
It's also possible the conservatives are taking a preemptive approach to the coming public accommodations lawsuits.
Verdad
I'm going to corner the market on "Genital-Attendant On Duty" signs.
well said. I am going to plagiarize this!
No sex bathrooms, a nice lock on individual stalls fixes it...first come, first served...and no one has to know what your junk looks like or even what hole you piss out of.
Followed by the banning of the urinal and men now having to deal with huge lines for the bathroom.
Just wait, in all these gender less bathrooms having urinals will amount to penile privilege....
Sure, and we won't just pee in the back corridor or random corner.
Please, have some self respect - piss in the sink.
How long before they pass laws forcing males to sit when taking a piss?
I expect that a lot of 'public' restrooms are just going to disappear or be pared back to one-holers. Otherwise, the SJW's are likely to get a lot of free publicity when a gaggle of men with 8-year old daughters drag obviously male 40-year olds from the women's restroom that their daughter is using and beats them until someone stops it.
Pretty much when Gary Johnson said that Jewish baker should be forced by GOV to bake a Nazi cake.
If they didn't ask for the swastika, who'd have known what or who the cake was for?
We bake the cake, you put the little people on top? Pick two. Or more?
Quite a few years ago, in college, I was at the bar and the line for the women's room was very long as always. Not relevant to me, seeing as I was headed to the men's room anyways. While standing at the urinal, a couple ladies walked in (no, they weren't attractive, but they were definitely ladies) and asked "you don't mind if we use the stalls here do you?" I said "no, that line looks long, I'd hate to have to wait too."
Last year, I had just gotten off a long flight and was still pretty out of it (hungover). I wandered over to a restroom in the airport when a nice lady stopped me and said "you're about to walk into the women's room, son." Embarrassed, I proclaimed "oh shit, sorry, thanks ma'am!" And went and walked over to the men's room.
Don't know why this whole bathroom thing makes me think of those stories and it's not terribly interesting, but it was worth a chuckle to myself and the women at the time. Point is, be respectful and fucking get over it, whatever it is.
So Prince helped shape an ideology requiring absolute acceptance of bizarre and ever shifting principles? Such as:
Gender is a social construct except for those people who have an immutable identification towards the gender opposite if their sex.
Sex and gender are two different things, but where an institution is segregated by sex, whatever a person thinks their gender is shall rule.
Gender is a state of mind, duh. It's not dictated by anything physical, like plumbing. All that matters is how a person feels at the moment.
I feel like an astronaut. The state owes me a fucking spaceship.
I used to go to a bar in Boulder called The Dark Horse, and it was always amusing to watch people go into the bathroom. The men's room door had a large sign that said Women with a hand pointing to the door next to it. Likewise the women's room door had a large sign that said Men with a hand pointing to the door next to it. You could tell a new person because they'd go into the wrong door, then rush out all embarrassed.
So the bar was owned and operated by assholes.
I'm shocked it didn't get a rep as a den of libertarian iniquity.
I've been in a bar with "Gulls" for the women and "Buoys" for the men. I can't tell if they were on the cutting edge of trans-speciesism and trans-something else or,if they were trying to be clever. Either way, they're probably gonna get sued by some asshole that wants a pony and wants to,use the force of the government to make someone else give it to them.
Gulls and Bouys can be easily seen as Girls and Boys. Anyone who sues over it is looking for a hand-out rather than addressing an actual wrong.
And here I thought is was about men faithfully doing their job while flighty women shit all over them.
It was a fun spot. The entire building was crassly decorated with old movie props, and the walls were pasted with cutouts from magazines. Live music every Saturday, and cheap drinks on Wednesdays for restaurant employee appreciation day. Not to mention all the easy pussy, being a college town. I liked that place.
Being run by assholes doesn't preclude it from being a fun spot.
You just perfectly described Disney World.
McGuire's Steakhouse in Pensacola has the same signs.
+$100 Burger (with the bottle of champagne)
My psychiatrist's office has a large men's bathroom with no urinals. Every time I'm there, if I'm waiting long enough, I will see a man walk in then walk out about 10 seconds later and look at the sign on the door to confirm it's the men's room (yes, I did this myself once). It's pretty funny
The Shaw thing is especially grating. The guy apologized, got fined and suspended. Move on. Now the NHL wants to send him to sensitivity class. Fricken nonsense.
And Don Cherry is 100% correct when he says he blames the media for this. They have their fricken mics everywhere and catch everything. Have the decency to accept hockey and sports are a fierce competitive event and athletes are pumped up and so will say nasty things. The balls of us to then scream and grab our fricken skirts, 'Did you hear what he said?!? OMG, OMG, OMG!' Think of it, you're playing one of the most brutal games around, the second you leave the ice you have to give an interviews. Then they wonder why from time to time someone explodes. Leave them their effen space and let them cool down.
Most of the people who make an issue of such incidences are either opportunists or don't care about sports one way or the other. They just pretend to be 'gatekeepers' for civility.
Shaw was involved in a violent infraction, went on an expletive laden tirade against the official punctuated by obscene gestures, but the thing worthy of a suspension was dropping a "fag" into the mix.
Of course it's the media - how many hockey fans actually give a shit about it? Would the stands have been empty if Andrew Shaw had not been suspended? Of course not. It's outrage entirely manufactured by the kind of wealthy leftists who own media companies and use them to advance their preferred politics.
Shove your contrition in your ass, and get on with the penance! - Pope of Social Justice.
I thought libertarians were above making disingenuous arguments. I guess I was wrong. The whole bathroom thing is bullshit. It's more about showers and locker rooms than who can walk into the stall next to a little girl. Saying otherwise is ignoring the concerns of parents and women who are pretty explicit in stating that's what it is about. I wish reason would quit glossing over that fact, but I've started coming to the realization that they are perfectly fine with forced association and the demolition of private property rights if it gets them invited to the cool parties where everybody there strokes their beards (whatever variety of beard they have) and smells their own farts.
This fucking retarded shit has to stop. Private property rights are the cornerstone of libertarianism. Sadly, it would appear that sounding cool to less than 0.5% of the population has become more important than keeping true to that principle.
Chapman is not a libertarian by any stretch of the imagination. He makes no distinction between a natural and voluntary evolution in cultural norms and one that comes with the threat of government force.
That's starting to become par for the course around here. Nick basically applauded the same idiocy the other day on this issue. And Rico...well he's Rico. That dumbass thinks punching someone that rushes your stage is an initiation of violence...by you.
I've noticed a similar trend. It's a little off-putting. I pretty much just stay here for the comments (and some of the articles) because I've learned and been intellectually challenged more by them than the articles themselves.
Me too, Mustang.
Same.
I've been here for 8 or 9 years. I think the comments, by and large, have always been more intellectually challenging and stimulating.
I miss the economic articles the most as those were the ones I learned the most from, but it seems those get drowned out by our own versions of culture war.
...also know as the Sargon Effect.
Yeh, I'm not sure I'm getting the point of this article.
Clickbait. Dead celebrity + absurd controversy = 500+ comments.
The point of the article is to get invited to a cocktail party. That's why he deliberately clouded the issue about the locker rooms/showers/bathrooms, turned Prince into something he is not and applauded shaming a hockey player for saying something in the heat of a game that had to be reviewed a dozen times and the sound edited just to make out his words.
Chapman is a fucking retard.
I thought libertarians were above making disingenuous arguments.
What would have given you that idea?
This seems like one of those issues that doesn't have a specifically libertarian answer. Except, of course, that private businesses should do what they think is best.
But reason writers never make that argument. The fucking editor in chief made the argument the other day that since public accommodations exist then they should get their way.
Well, that's why I never read Chapman and rarely read Gillespie.
"It's more about showers and locker rooms than who can walk into the stall next to a little girl."
This seems more disingenuous to me. Trans people, at least among all the ones I know and there are not as rare as you might think in a big city, start out as gay. Once they make the change, they are - in effect - straight. Therefore, the former guy who is now pumped full of estrogen and wearing a dress is attracted to guys - not girls. The former girl who now sports a 5-o-clock shadow and has had a voluntary mastectomy likes women. In practice, of course, they have a pretty small list of romantic prospects, even compared to regular gays/lesbians -- but that's their own problem.
What people seem to be in mortal fear of are transvestites (not transsexual) CHILD MOLESTERS. I am not sure how many child molesters actually disguise themselves as the opposite sex to commit a crime. I suspect it's not very common. But to call any who do "transsexual" is rather silly. It would be like saying that a bank robber who dons a gorilla mask is trying to identify as a trans-speciest primate. Uh, no, he's just trying to get away with a crime.
Some people are unhappy being reminded that they're men when they want to be women, and vice versa. So the idea is to remove the occasions of discomfort by treating them as the sex they think they are.
To the extent this is an issue, it's an issue of disability rights and the need for reasonable accomodations for those who are affected by these delusions.
Then we'd look at the discomfort imposed on these people by being reminded of their real sex, and on the other hand the discomfort imposed on the normals who don't want going to the bathroom with the other sex, and see on balance whose comfort ought to be catered to.
Of course it's not framed that way - the discomfort of the sexually confused becomes an issue of Civil Rights, not simply accomodations of a disability. And the discomfort of the normals becomes something which cannot legitimately be considered.
The entire thing is absurd. They can't even define what transgender means. The word has no meaning beyond "I want". So some guy who wants to be a woman feels uncomfortable showering and such with other guys. Okay, a lot of guys feel that way too. I bet there are at least some men who would feel better showering with women as opposed to other men. A lot of men seek out female doctors rather than male ones because they don't like being naked with other men. So why is the guy who wants to be a woman accommodated and the guy who just feels uncomfortable around other men not? Both men feel equally uncomfortable. Why is one need worth turning our entire society upside down and the other not?
The whole thing is nothing but rank identity politics taken to levels of insanity. Anyone who buys into it is either being dishonest or irrational.
The next words look like being "non-binary" and "gender fluid".
I have no idea what it is like to be someone who thinks they fall into one of those categories, so I'm not going to tell anyone what they should do about it. But I'm not sure what was wrong with just being kind of weird and dressing how you want, fucking whom you want, etc. Identity politics just makes everything terrible. Just do your thing.
There is nothing wrong with being weird. You can think you are whatever you want to be. This issue has nothing to do with that. This issue is about forcing other people to go along with your ideas. If the women in the gym see you as a man, you have no right to force them to see you as a woman and let you into their locker room.
The only force going on here is the people like Chapman demanding that other people be forced to believe in politically correct delusions. This is all about people like Chapman and the commenter Hihn wanting to put a put on everyone's face and enforce their idea of reality. Shame on anyone who goes along.
I was mostly just commenting on the broader social phenomenon. It seems like a lot of people who in the past just would have considered themselves gay or queer or freaky or something are more and more adopting the labels of "gender fluidity" and things like that. And a lot of them don't seem to have the serious gender dysphoria issues that one usually associates with transgender.
I'd find it kind of an interesting social phenomenon if the politicization of everything didn't make it all so irritating.
Shawn Stinson. Yep she he should totally have to use the women's room...
I bet there are at least some men who would feel better showering with women as opposed to other men.
::raises hand::
And you should be accommodated Sloopy. Why is your anxiety any less valid than some Transvestite's anxiety?
Game: blouses.
"Prince, a musician whose "gender fluidity and sexual ambiguity"
Citation? Other than projection. I never got the impression that Prince was ever personally ambiguous about his gender nor his sexually. Being flamboyant was a sign of the times. Shit look at the hair bands. It's funny the people that are stereotyping him that way though. Typical.
For a guy who was supposedly sexually ambiguous, Prince sure nailed a lot of hot women without ever being associated with any men.
Yeah, wearing sparkly clothes and makeup doesn't mean you are sexually ambiguous. Prince seemed to have been pretty unambiguously masculine as far as I can tell.
Was Twisted Sister gender-fluid too?
"Was Twisted Sister gender-fluid too?"
A hell of a lot more than I ever saw Prince as.
He had a female persona (Camille) he used for some songs but it seemed more like he created her so he could write songs from another point of view. Much like a male writer might do a novel with a female narrator. Robert Heinlein did that several times.
Huh, I must have missed something. Because outside of blouses, Prince's public persona has been, to me, be pretty hardcore cis-het.
You missed all the hot, muscular male dancers in his show.....because they didn't exist. Gorgeous women, though? You bet. In my own adolescence, since internet porn didn't yet exist, Prince videos were the best fap material around outside of Skinemax movies and the Victoria's Secret catalog.
Basically everyone associated with Prince, other than some of his band's musicians, was female. Backup singers, dancers, etc - his "prot?g?s" were first Vanity and then Apollonia.
This. When I was a kid, I didn't like his music, but I loved his videos
Yep. Shawn Stinson should totally be required to use the Ladies Room.
I really don't care who I take a shit next to our shower with so long as everyone stays in their lane but ultimately this is a property rights issue.
Ugh, our = or.
first, ban all tranny surgery and all that hormone therapy. there's no need for it. it is purely cosmetic and elective and is destructive.
Second, a micro-sub culture should not be dictating that the rest of the 99.99% of people should lose their privacy in public restrooms...which is the point of having separate bathrooms.
Lastly, believing men are men and women are women shouldn't get you fired from your job. Not only is it common sense, its basic biology. However, it is more proof that leftards hate biology. They're always claiming to believe only in "science" but it is more and more apparent that "science" means some leftist in a lab coat repeats what they already believe. it means nothing and it isn't science. It sure as fuck isn't progress.
Keep the white male slaveholder on a widely used currency note and consign the black female escaped slave to a bill that is rarely seen? Anyone who wondered whether Trump intentionally exploits white racial resentments need wonder no more.
Seems more likely that Trump wants to get rid of Jefferson (another white male slaveholder, currently on the two dollar bill), since Jefferson is a hero for those who oppose unchecked government authority.
Some Trans activists, like Danielle (formerly David) Muscato, openly support eliminating ALL restroom gender distinctions. That is what worries many people, particularly women.
Thank you Steve for this article. Well done.
Well outwardly at any rate. Prince was in his private life a conservative Jehovah's Witness entirely opposed to gay marriage. But he was smart enough never to say that out loud. We have freedom of thought, up to a point in the US but freedom of speech is dying out.
Mikey Hihny is Reason's first Trans-Retard. Give him cake.

What a genius Chapman. Prince was a virulent homophobe who campaigned against marriage equality.
Yep. History is simply the story of how long it takes for the majority to accept a tiny minority's idiosyncratic views of gender and their sexual habits. Every major historian knew this.
I know for some reason, "Reason" who says their "libertarian" doesnt believe in freedom of association. This the way to solve this whole thing and "Reason" won't like it. If a business chooses to let a male who thinks he is a female use the women's restroom and vice versa they should be able to do it, no questions asked, but if a business doesn't want to do this they should be able to. However, it seems "Reason" wants to use the coercive power of the state to enforce "tolerance". I frankly think a business should be able to discriminate, it isn't only against gender, race, sexual orientation etc. If they don't like the puke green color of your shoes they should be able to throw you out for it, now as much as Nick and his crew don't like that, it is freedom, something they profess to believe in. That is the only issue I have with this web site, they think its OK for government to stick a gun in your face if your "racist", "sexist", a "homophobe" etc. Oh and by the way, I don't care if Jackson was a slave owner, putting Tubman on the bill is all about political correctness and the social justice whiners getting their way because they threw a loud hissy fit and pissed in their diapers. Political correctness needs to go, its anti freedom and its disgusting.

Get the government out of the conversation. The Charlotte law infringed on the property rights of business owners and the NC law went too far in response. I cannot understand why any libertarian would support a coercive law that is intolerant of other opinions in the name of tolerance.
We need a new principle: separation of bathroom and state.

Who's "we", nutso?
The very concept of tiresome finds you tiresome.
You mean Ron Paul supporters? Most of them are the least bigoted people I know. A few Birchers tagged along when he was popular, I suppose, but they've since moved on to the Trump crowd. Ron Paul was all about liberty for all.
So you're okay with Obama sending federal troops to police North Carolina restrooms?
1: what does that have to do with private property rights?
2: they don't dress and look like women once they're naked and their dong is flopping around.
3: what does that have to do with private property rights?
You need to learn a bit about biology "Gender confusion" is a long-established genetic malfunction
That is complete fucking bullshit. There is not a single bit of scientific evidence showing that. Where do you read this shit? Let me give you a hint, posts on DU often don't have any scientific basis.
Forget it, he's rolling.
So there are 17 million definitions of what a transgendered person is? And we want the state to determine a solution here.
I've got a better idea. Let the 17 million private property owners out there determine what definition they want to use and tell the people trying to force them to do something they might not want to do to go fuck themselves.
You linked to a medical dictionary. That is not evidence. That just means the people who wrote the dictionary bent over to the pressure associated with this bullshit. Show me actual evidence, as in actual studies that show this is a genetic issue. They don't exist.
Micheal you are the dumbest person who posts on here. Seriously, how dumb does someone have to be to not understand the difference between an unsupported conclusion and appeal to authority and evidence? What is worse, you have no idea how stupid you are. You are so stupid, you think rational people are the dumb ones.
Nothing. Tell me what is stopping you from having a rational thought? Your responses are so incoherent it is no longer possible to discuss this issue with you.
Hihn is astoundingly stupid. We ask for a definition and he links to a source that says the word means whatever you think it means. Hihn really can't seem to grasp why that doesn't answer our question or disprove our point.
Not to burst your bubble Mikey, but
Now now, there's no one here dumber than Shrike. Maybe JackandAce?
Or maybe it didn't actually exist in the first place?
You provided a link to 17,000,000 definitions of 'transgendered'.
17,000,000.
Wow. I'm absolutely stunned.
Seventeen million.
Most words only have two or three definitions
Because they're well defined.
idiot.
Gillespie did. I can't remember where it was but I read it, too. I'll see if I can find it.
You are a tiresome ass that loves attention-whoring. Go suck a lemon.
You responded to sloopy's response to Rufus, which is a response to sloopy's original post at 8:42am that specifically mentions private property rights. There is nothing pathetic or bullshit about pointing that out, that's how threading is supposed to work.
But sure, I'm the child for pointing out your mistake and NOT calling people names.
Vanity, Apollonia, Susannah Hoffs. Kim Basinger, a couple dozen of his backup singers and dancers. .....I'm sure Google can give you an exhaustive list.
Your turn, schmucko.
A performer wearing makeup? The devil you say!
Let me break this down for you:
sloopy 8:42am Rufus 8:50am sloopy 8:53am Michael 9:18am sloopy 9:23am Michael 11:34am (notice this is where you call him out for not mentioning private property rights, in a fucking thread that started off (8:42am) with him talking about private property rights).
Conveniently, your link starts off at the 8:53 mark, completely ignoring the post that started the damn thread.
God you are pathetic. Just admit that you were wrong and that sloopy did IN FACT mention private property rights. Jesus Christ, you can even control f the term and see it in his first post.
Oh, and it was you that called my post "pathetic bullshit" so I didn't make you responsible for anything but what you said you braid dead fucktard.
