Revital Zilonka, an education instructor at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, requires all students in her "Institution of Education" class to state their personal and professional commitment to social justice in an eight-page essay. Her class syllabus also provides a list of feminist and LGBTQ organizations to "like" on Facebook. The class is required to receive a k-12 teaching license in the state.

The 1960s Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary had more eclectic tastes in diversity than Comrade Revital Zilonka.

  2. cavalier973   9 years ago

No one else teaches the class?

    1. Tonio   9 years ago

Even if so, it's still an unfair burden on the students.

  3. Hyperbolical (wadair)   9 years ago

Well, you can't properly educate young educators without indoctrinating them on the latest statecraft.

    1. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

At the very least it's a good indoctrination into the type of bullshit these aspiring educators will have to endure from school bureaucracies and will weed out any boat-rockers.

"The one Rate My Professors review Zilonka has states: "Revital is a sweetheart, but has very strong opinions. Don't take this class if you're easily offended. Figure out what she wants, write your papers stating that you get her opinion, pass the class, and never look back."

Exactly the opposite of what makes a great teacher. She's using the class as her own personal indocrtinazation cubicle.

I had a professor who gave me an 'A' despite having challenged everything he lectured. Full props. He respected the fact I diligently constructed my argument and he graded accordingly.

indoctrination. I have no idea where I got that word; but I think I like it.

      1. UnCivilServant   9 years ago

*Points and laughs at Rufus for using the correct word when admiring the original error*

        1. Rufus The Monocled Derp Slayer   9 years ago

          I deserve it all.

    2. R C Dean   9 years ago

I had some of those professors. Because of them, I think I actually managed to get a real education of the kind that everyone touts for "liberal arts".

    3. Tonio   9 years ago

Don't take this class if you're easily offended.

Um, more like "don't take this class if you're allergic to easily-offended idiots." Or, "don't take this class if you're bullshit-intolerant." Or, "Caution: teacher is easily-offended and vindictive about it."

    4. In League with the Dark Ones   9 years ago

      indoctrinaziation?

  5. UnCivilServant   9 years ago

Were the brickbats not getting enough traffic where reason hid them so they returned to H&R?

    1. Princess Trigger   9 years ago

      They've always been here.
      We all float down here.

  6. Atanarjuat   9 years ago

It's hilarious that SJW Facebook groups have so few "likes" that they have to resort to tactics like this to increase their visibility.

  7. Rich   9 years ago

    Revital Zilonka -- *great* name.

    1. UnCivilServant   9 years ago

      Sounds fake.

      1. Rufus The Monocled Derp Slayer   9 years ago

Sounds suspiciously like 'revitalize' which I reckon she believes is he mission.

        1. invisible furry hand   9 years ago

She's an Israeli and it's Hebrew for "I have a Bachelor's degree in Education in Social Justice Education and Peace Studies"

          1. Rich   9 years ago

in "Seminar Hakibutzim" college of education

IOW, a "so-called" college of education?

            1. Princess Trigger   9 years ago

Hey, it was good enough to get her into the master program at Boise State! [in education, which is essentially finger painting and masturbation]

    2. The Grinch   9 years ago

      Yipe! Stereotype very confirmed.

      1. Old Man With Candy   9 years ago

Not completely. She needs a hyphenated name to really pull this off.

    3. rudehost   9 years ago

If you are sensitive to stupidity consult your doctor before taking Revital Zilonka.

      1. WTF   9 years ago

If you take Revital Zilonka you may suffer from unusual thoughts of derp. Report any unusual or increasing derpy thoughts to your doctor.

        1. rudehost   9 years ago

If you experience thoughts of derp lasting more than 4 hours seek immediate medical attention.
