The death of the Fox Lake cop that launched a manhunt in Illinois has been ruled a suicide.
The War on Cops is so bad they have enemy agents within.
I've got it! Black Lives Matter, in conjunction with the Worldwide Jewish Conspiracy that wants to destroy America, acquired mind-control technology that forced this cop to kill himself.
::grabs phone, calls Alex Jones::
What about the reverse vampires?
They spew blood onto their victims?
Hello.
Hello, Rufus!
Any reaction in Quebec to Liberals standing by their denial of Toronto downtown airport expansion? No expansion = Bombardier has to forfeit $2.3 billion contract.
The death of the Fox Lake cop that launched a manhunt in Illinois has been ruled a suicide.
I called the cop a suicide on 9/3 and again on 9/4
I'm a regular Charlie Chan!
That's a shame. It would also be a shame if the Rooshians were to nuke Mecca in retaliation.
That'll learn 'em!
It's called "stealing," people.
It's not stealing, it's a tax. I'm sure that anything that isn't picked up in the appropriate time limit will be auctioned off to support important government programs just like this one.
Win-win for everybody!
Yes.
You can trust your local police with your valuables.
Really.
And, if not, the money will go to helping improve law enforcement.
And this isn't an illegal seizure why, exactly?
(yes, I know. FYTW.)
Evidently there is some kind of "caretaker" provision of state law that they think allows this.
Ah, yes, the community caretaking rule allowing warrantless searches. Also here.
And here.
I'm afraid I couldn't find the part of the caretaker doctrine which allows police to take your property and put it in the police station to prevent someone else from taking it.
Maybe I should have looked harder.
But look, the word "taking" is right there in "caretaking," what more do you want?
Drop the "e," and it's "cartaking."
If your motives are altruistic, and the deed is done for the common good as diametrically opposed to selfish personal gain, then it is not a taking, no matter how many people you have to kill to enforce it. Jesus! Doesn't anyone read Kant and Hitler anymore?
What... the fuck?
Somebody ought to leave an item that looks valuable, but is actually a bomb.
WAR ON COPZ!
Not advisable, for many reasons.
However, if it was simply a device designed to emit a 120 db squeal if it got within 100 yards of a police station, you might have something.
Well, I wasn't exactly serious.
What if somebody left a woodchipper in an unlocked truck? 😉
Several Police Departments have done that in the past few years, with very unsexy results.
Somebody is going to get fired.
Or, hopefully, beaten and sodomized by a woodchipper.
Sodomized by a woodchipper. Now we're getting somewhere.
When I checked, it said the spoilsport city attorney had called it off.
There is no way anything could go wrong here.

I envision a can of mace rigged to go off when swine break into your vehicle.
I envision an can of mace rigged to go off when swine break into your impounded vehicle with a significant amount of vandalism and just the hint of porcine urine in the front seat..
I believe booby traps are a crime in most jurisdictions.
So they think they have the authority to take anything that is not nailed down? An open door is an invitation for a search. Hell, a vampire has more respect for property rights than this, at least you have to invite them in.
And what they can pry loose isn't nailed down...
The sick, disgusting power play that is spooning:
Alright, guys, I confess it: I'm usually the big spoon.
Spooning is nice, but forking is better.
What's 'sporking', chopped liver?
What you and your concubines/catamites/domestic animals get up to in the privacy of your own bedroom is your business.
Scissor me timbers!
Alright, guys, I confess it: I'm usually the big spoon.
Go on...
But serially, I haven't clicked through, only read the quoted passage. Is it just me, or did they just do a Black Dynamite style connection of concepts to conclude something that fit their already-established worldview?
I'm assuming it doesn't get any deeper than that. The big spoon is the man and the little spoon is the woman, and therefore spooning is sexist, because the big spoon has been labeled the man and the little spoon the woman. Of course.
To be a little politically incorrect myself, I think the guy who wrote it needs to step out of his little men-only privilege box (i.e., gayness) for a minute, because in my experience there is no rule about big spoon=man, little spoon=woman, and he's putting his own sexual hangups onto a bunch of straight people just trying to get their snuggle on.
straight people just trying to get their snuggle on.
Well, some of us are failing to get our snuggle on, but I'm down with what you're throwin' down.
"Face full of hair, dead arm and an awkward boner."
"Face full of hair, dead arm and an awkward boner."
Hopefully, if you're doing spoon-style snuggles with a person, you're past the point where a boner is awkward. A conversation-starter, maybe, but not awkward.
I have never known a boner to not put a near immediate end to the spooning. For better or worse.
The article is a lot of navel-gazing drivel but he's absolutely right that spooning is only tolerable for a few minutes at a time.
The article is a lot of navel-gazing drivel but he's absolutely right that spooning is only tolerable for a few minutes at a time.
As a man, I can agree with this statement.
+1 numb arm
I figured the article was written by a woman.
Or he just needs to be a little more open-minded. Not all gay men are tied to one role or the other.
Sometimes it's impractical for 5'5" to spoon 6'5".
Haven't you ever had your dessert before your soup? It's wonderful.
One good reason I prefer to date 'em around my height.
Right, it's circular logic is what I'm saying. He just asserts that big spoon=man and little spoon=woman. Of course, if that's how you choose to label it, then it will always be sexist, "whichever the sexes engaged."
Yeah, for sure, I'm just saying that he might have more of a clue if he wasn't gay. He has no actual knowledge of this and just makes up nonsense.
Ahhh, yes, right. I agree. I assumed, whether straight or gay, he was simply bullshitting from his narrow personal experience.
It's more than that. It's projection of his own misogynistic attitude typical of men that self-identify as gay onto something that wouldn't be suggestive at all to anyone not endowed with his sexist fantasies. If anything, he was probably goaded into this absurd speculation by an encounter with a real man that couldn't be constrained into his subaristotelian male/female binary sad glomus of loathing and anxiety and baseless re?fied gay/straightism. THIS IS WHAT MAKES YOU GAY, not whether or not you prefer RAVE to CORNHOLE COWBOY.
If there's a glomus involved, other than in a pot on the nightstand, count me out.
Yes. Spooning is very nice either way regardless of the size or sex of either participant.
And while I don't know a whole lot about gay male sexual dynamics, I imagine that there are big manly guys out there who prefer the submissive role and more stereotypically effeminate guys who prefer to pitch.
You are imagining truly, but in fact the reason for it is that one of them is not gay.
I'm usually the big spoon

Wait, that kinda sounds like...
As long as there is reach around involved don't see the problem.
What about a power-bottom? Which spoon is that?

I am always the big chopstick.
And just as useful as a single chopstick?
Stabbing.
No love for the spork?
Also my nickname in Chinatown.

Desperate to see even gay sex as exploiting women. Sick.
Gay sex totally exploits women, because it makes them completely irrelevant.
/Didn't sound so mysoginistic in my head, but decided to go with it anyway.
Carl: Well, there's a lot of gay guys out there.
Richie: I feel that's the selling point of the lifestyle.
Carl: You know, I, I, I never thought about it that way.
Richie: Well, I have. Cutting women out of sex, it's genius.
I'm pretty sure there are people who do say exactly that.
I saw it more as "desperate to claim you're exploited, so you make up some shit about women being small spoons."
a power play, a perverse strategy
translation: let's keep power plays on a political level, where they belong
Can I clean your spoon with my tongue?
Do you have any idea where that spoon has been?
I do, in fact. That's why I made the request.
on the dusty floor of his car, scooping up banana jelly beans?
It was a metaphor. Jeez.
*whispers*
The spoon is Nicole.
There is no spoon.
In the peanut butter jar?
Obligatory.
For some reason, this got a more visceral reaction from me than one of SF's stories.
How many problematics is this?! Hopefully this ends up on "Everything's a Problem" so I can find out.
It was on there earlier today.
Spoiler: three.
JFC.
That is just trolling.
Which is completely different from the rest of the gay rights movement which consists of finding hospitals, bakeries, pizzerias, jewelers, photographers, fast food establishments, etc. that don't have an explicit policy of supporting gays, projecting persecution of homosexuals thereon, and then proceeding to litigate/legislate based on the bigotry of their existing policies.
My wife and I switch roles throughout the night. So I don't know what that's all about. Probably our "healthy and mature relationship/overall life outlook" privilege showing through.
There is an aspect of dominance and submission in most mammalian species sex play. That spooning might carry an aspect of those roles is not a horrible thing. This just seems another manifestation of the bizarre prudishness of social leftists. They really cannot stand human instinct when it is at cross purposes with their idea of how life should be.
U.S. intelligence sources say the crash of a Russian jetliner over Egypt was most likely caused by a bomb planted by ISIS or an ISIS affiliate.
Yeah, true or not, that's not going to be good for anybody.
This smells like and apartment bombing in Moscow at the start of the Chechen War.
If US intelligence says it, there's almost a 50% chance that it's true.
I imagine their goal is to convince enough people that it will cause a domestic political problem for Putin if he doesn't prioritize hitting ISIS over the other anti-Assad rebels.
Considering that Putin doesn't play buy the same rules of engagement that the US Military is under ISIS might be the biggest loser.
I'm thoroughly depressed by election results and news of innocent 6-yr-olds being gunned down by America's Domestic Occupation Army.
Anyone excited about the Star Wars Battlefront game that's coming out?
Fuck no. Nerds.
Oooooh, I guess someone's happy with their election results.
Well excyoooooosay mwah!
I am. The best results possible; there wasn't an election here.
I didn't even know about it until you guys talked about it.
No, looks like a crummy cash grab that offers less than two years-old Battlefield 4.
Now, Overwatch... But that's sadly running on Blizzard time.
Blizzard no longer makes good games.
I'm not excited about EA milking it for every last cent. I'll get it as soon as it goes on sale, and hopefully the DLC will be included in that package. An additional $50 for half of the game's maps is bullshit.
Sadly, charging $30 for a "season pass" aka the other 50% of the game has been the norm for years now. Fuckers
I was very impressed by the graphics and the gameplay on the beta. However, how in the fuck can you spend all these years developing such a reboot and completely leave out one of the best parts...SPACE BATTLES.
And the sound design!
PEW! BWAAAAM!!!
I'll give them a pass on space battles of the ground combat looks as good as it does in the beta and review videos that I've seen.
NO PASSES. If you're going to market your game as a massive online 20v20 shootout, you better damn well devote and entire team to space battles. EA just got lazy.
An*
The HnR reboot better have an edit button.
The gameplay is crap. Impossibly shallow. No classes, no skill depth, not nearly enough content. Also, max 40 players. We got 64 TEN YEARS AGO.
Yes.
"I'm thoroughly depressed by election results"
Why? Ohio and Seattle's were bad but Kentucky and Portland results were good. Mixed.
"Anyone excited about the Star Wars Battlefront game that's coming out?"
FUCK no it is a terrible piece of crap. Auto-regenerating health, REGENERATING GRENADES, loadouts not classes, NO VOIP
I could go on but there's no need it's clearly awful. Thanks EA!
Even Ohio itself was mixed, since there was probably as much opposition to corporatism as weed (as evidenced by the fact that the anti-rent-seeking issue designed to torpedo the marijuana issue did pass)
"No sexual activity took place despite his efforts."
He could not get a prostitute to have sex with him?
I resemble that remark...
Police at the University of California-Merced shot a student who allegedly went on a stabbing spree that injured five.
After trauma penetrated several persons a service weapon was discharged and a bullet entered a person.
What we need are reasonable knife control rules: no blades over 1/4" long, rounded at the tip and completely unsharpened. Oh yes, and registered with all the appropriate Federal Acronym Agencies.
Texas bans the carry of pointy knives. I have a permit to carry a pistol, but stabby knives are right out.
I've always thought switchblade laws were particularly stupid. I can carry a GUN, but I can't carry a knife with a button because several decades ago, some housewives had a conniption fit over West Side Story?
Are you on about spoons again?
Sounds like a penny, so that's okay then...
U.S. intelligence sources say the crash of a Russian jetliner over Egypt was most likely caused by a bomb planted by ISIS or an ISIS affiliate.
KGB operation to facilitate large-scale Russian ground operations in Syria?
Yes. The FSB has strange ways of 'protecting' Russia.
If that's the case, then the real story here is how badly US Intelligence fucked up.
So you're saying its a lock?
The Supreme Court in Mexico ruled that individuals should have the right to grow and distribute marijuana for their own personal use.
It's like they want a fence between our two nations.
Damn, i'm starting to reconsider which side of that fence i'd want to be on.
So the Supreme Court in Mexico can just make up laws as they go?!? What kind of bullshit.... oh, wait.
Except the SCOM just reduced the size and scope of government. I don't know about you, but they got my attention.
This time. I don't know about you, but I don't care for unelected lawyers, no matter what they do.
Without unelected bureaucrats, 87% of the federal government would wither away.
Yes.
Roger that, sir.
Hmm, I see where you're going with this.
U.S. intelligence sources say the crash of a Russian jetliner over Egypt was most likely caused by a bomb planted by ISIS or an ISIS affiliate.
I just learned that there are Wahhabist militants in the Sinai who have recently gotten their hands on some military weapons. They could have shot it down.
No, it wasn't a SAM
Nice link, Tman. Dig this cold water:
Pssh. I had one in my minivan last week.
Along with the requisite six-pack, I presume?
Bombers. All of my drinks are 22oz.
My hat's off to you, sir. Er, or maybe madam.
Whatever.
Xe's not sure either.
But it could have been a Benghazi Stinger.
Rumorz has it some were seen around there in the not too distant past.
I'm thinking that if it was a nefarious act, it wasn't anything ground-based. Again, stingers taking out airliners at 30,000'... not likely.
Better put Michael Thorton on it, just to make sure.
Stingers don't have that sort of range, IIRC.
He's saying it wasn't a SAM because those are difficult to get and hard to use, but what about this:
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-33557180
They could have a fucking SAM. Who knows?
Hillary is forward-thinking.
That's not the Onion?
The Onion cannot compete with reality.
Well, one president in my lifetime is a confirmed rapist. So, I can see why it would bother Hillary.
U.S. intelligence sources say the crash of a Russian jetliner over Egypt was most likely caused by a bomb planted by ISIS or an ISIS affiliate.
So the security theater doesn't really work? Totally sucks that it happened, but I suspect that Putin will make ISIS holler in ways we couldn't.
Not sure how Russia does their airline security so can't say.
Safe to say it's more like "security 5 Cent films" in Egyptian airports.
I bet Putin goes medieval on their asses. You would think ISIS would have been smart enough to keep fucking with Obama instead of someone like Putin who would actually do something. Life is hard if you are stupid I guess.
No. Putin likes ISIS. He's mostly bombing non-ISIS rebels.
Its interesting how Egypt and Russia both seem to have tried spinning this over the last few days.
Acknowledging it was a bomb would make Russia inadvertently "culpable" in the eyes of the Russian public - or at least show that there is a cost being paid for sticking their noses into Syria. The Russian PR effort in the days afterward seemed to signal there was some effort to prevent this idea before it started.
Which...then.... may just as well suggest that the US has an interest in perpetuating that particular claim.
I'm still kinda surprised Russia never really seem to have caught any shit over the shooting down of MH17
Acknowledging it was a bomb would make Russia inadvertently "culpable"
You sure about that? It might give them the green light to do whatever the fuck they want now.
I'm not so sure about any of it. I think Russian memory of Chechnya is a lot like US/Iraq, and that they're OK with foreign fighting as long as it doesn't come home to roost.
Unless this was the payback. They could have made it look like ISIS for the win-win.
The FSB wouldn't even have to make it look like ISIS. They could very easily use ISIS members as catspaws.
The Dutch Government report merely stated the cause of MH17 going down was a missile - without saying who fired it - and the Russians went apeshit.
The blame report is still to come. If it blames Russia's sockpuppet insurrectionists in Eastern Ukraine, the Russians will do a great deal of screaming.
However, as for real, substantial action, there is no way to bell a nuclear armed cat.
I'm guessing the argument is they didn't have U.S. style security theater.
I'm not an expert, but from what I have read and seen, it's likely that there was in fact a decent amount of security theater. That may not be the case in Egypt more broadly, but Sharm al-Sheikh is a tourist resort full of Europeans, and people seem to think they probably put on a good show there.
http://neoneocon.com/2015/10/0.....-part-iii/
So Peter Singer wins the prize of the world's most loathsome philosopher by a mile. This is an interesting look at him. Singer's mother has dimensia and is no longer rational. By Singer's sick utlitarian set of ethics, she is no longer a human being and should be killed. Singer of course has not left her on an ice berg to die and instead has hired full time care for her. In response to this he says "Perhaps it is more difficult than I thought before, because it is different when it's your mother.". After years of claiming to be a moral philosopher and making his career out of it, it finally dawns on him that "it is different when it is your mother" and he actually thinks that is some kind of revelation rather than something any normal human being knows. He is clearly afflicted with some form of autism and lacks the normal capacity for empathy and emotion. The fact that this little freak was allowed into a PHD program much less made one of the most famous philosophers in the world shows just how sick our academic culture has become.
""dimensia""
She's gone 4D man.
You know what I mean. Context Gilmore context.
Consider the source.
Maybe he's just in it for the money?
No. He is a committed fanatic.
That might be true if he did not pay for her care.
The fact that he does suggests he is just as prone to outbursts of emotionalism as most other people.
None of it makes his philosophy wrong, or less likely to be correct.
yes it does. How is a philosophy correct if it isn't the right one to live by. And if you can't live by it yourself, then how can you claim it is right? I don't mean try to live by it and fail. We all do that. I mean you can't even try to do what you claim to be the right thing. That makes it wrong.
Singer's problem is that he doesn't understand the limits of reason. He starts with the assumption that man is just another animal and reasons from there. Of course Singer thinks man being just another animal is a reasoned premise but he is wrong and that is his failure. It is an unproven assumption just as faith based as saying there is a God. There is nothing that says man is just an animal or not special and above animals. There is no way to tell. And since there isn't, man is special for no other reason than I am an man and I am doing the thinking. It is in my self interest to consider myself not just another animal and there thus no reason to think otherwise absent complete proof, which doesn't exist.
You should ask some Christians about that. I hear it's really hard to practice Christ-like behavior. But they still think it's right.
No Nikki, you miss the point. It is not that you fail to live by the standard. It is that you wouldn't want to meet the standard if you could. It isn't that Singer is saying "I should whack my mother but I have morally failed and can't". That is not what is occurring. He is saying "it is different since it is my mother". He is saying he wouldn't want to live up to his ethical standards even if he could. That makes his system invalid since its creator doesn't view it as the best way for him to live or at the very least requires him to renounce it.
"I am emotionally attached to something that violates my moral precepts" happens to...just about anyone with moral precepts.
Sure it does. But Singer is admitting more than that. He also admits these issues are more complex than he though. No shit. Moreover, that answer doesn't help his cause. His philosophy assumes that emotional attachment doesn't and shouldn't matter. His actions show the obvious fact that they do. Singer is a completely defective human being who seems utterly unaware of how human being reason and behave.
The man is so out of touch with reality that he is surprised that he wants to take care of his aging mother and that she didn't stop being his mother just because she lost her mind. It is not that Singer is a sociopath. If he were a sociopath, he would have killed his mother and not worried about it. The problem is he is a blithering idiot with no understanding of his own mind much less anyone else' mind.
Oh John. You talk so much and understand so little.
And as a side note, you completely misunderstand Christian ethics. Christian ethics acknowledge that people will always fail to live up to the ideal. That acknowledgement in no way invalidates them.
I didn't misunderstand that at all. All ethical systems acknowledge that, and are never invalidated by it.
Sure. But you don't understand what Singer is doing here. Failing to meet the standard is not the same as saying "the standard is good for you but not for me".
More importantly, when the reasoning from your premise results in monstrous conclusions, like it is moral to kill the sick, the newborn and the old, then your premise is flawed. If you start with the premise human beings are not animals but something different and worthy of special respect and dignity, you end up with natural rights and all sorts of conclusions that are not monstrous.
Singer's philosophy is grotesque and the product of limited mind. And to write off his hypocrisy as some emotional outburst is to completely miss the point. Sure it is emotion. And that emotion is really important. And Singer's inability to ignore it shows the absurdity of his assumption that it doesn't matter and should never be considered.
It really doesn't. Some people believe emotions are important, others do not. There's no way to say who is right about that.
Don't invalidate John's lived experiences, Nikki.
WTF is that supposed to mean? No one is talking about anyone's experiences. Seriously, what the fuck are you going on about?
There's no way to say who is right about that. and It really doesn't are mutually incompatible.
And there most certainly is a way to say who is right about that. Emotions clearly are important in human decision making. That fact is undeniable. The question is, should they be important. And the answer is yes. Any valid ethical system must take into account human nature as it is. Since emotions are an essential part of human nature, ethics must take them into account. To write them off as Singer does and claim only "Reason" matters is to create an ethical system at odds with human nature and behavior.
Quick, name a moral system that isn't "at odds with human nature and behavior."
Every one other than utilitarianism and radical nihilism. Human beings naturally attach to and feel emotional about one another. And ethical systems that do that and recognize the unique dignity of each human being, be that Christian ethics or natural rights do that. No ethical system is perfect but utilitarianism is thoroughly evil.
At some point Nikki, you are going to get bored with hating yourself and hating humanity. You are smarter than Singer.
Isn't that kind of the point - we need an ethical system to overcome the flaws in human nature. We can never perfectly live up to it.
This is pretty rich coming from you John.
And from below:
You don't even see your own glaring hypocrisy do you John?
As long as Singer never sits on a medical ethics panel or review board making decisions on who gets what treatment, he can blather whatever he wants.
The problem is he is at Princeton blathering and converting people who will sit on those boards.
Singer might be right that his mom isn't human anymore, but that doesn't mean she should be killed. In any event, Singer's hypocrisy is not an indictment of his 'philosophy'. That's not how rational argument works.
Same old leftist shit, same old leftist hypocrisy. We see it over and over again. These people do a 180 so fast it gives them whiplash when their preferred policies are applied to them. Some one should whip that motherfucker's ass.
"The Supreme Court in Mexico ruled that individuals should have the right to grow and distribute marijuana for their own personal use."

No, I didn't RTFA. I was told that's against the rules.

"allegedly went on a stabbing spree"
""al?leg?ed?ly
??lej?dl?/
adverb: allegedly
used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof."
So, they CLAIMED there was a stabbing spree.....?
Innocent until proven guilty.
I know
the term "alleged" here seemed to imply the act itself was yet-to-be-proved, rather than the person being correctly identified as having committed a known-act
There is something of a theme going on here re: poorly constructed sentences.
Gilmore, This pisses me off to no end. If there was an alleged stabbing spree - which actually happened - an alleged perpetrator is by the same standard the person who did it. I quite agree, this is completely unacceptable distortion of language.
The president of the Maldives declared a state of emergency ahead of a major planned anti-government protest.

Quinnipac, whoever they are, has Carson ahead of Hillary in a head to head match up 50 to 40. Holy cow. Yeah it is only one poll, but that is an enormous lead.
A small college in Connecticut that has been doing polls for ages in order to make a name for themselves.
Women go 45 percent for Carson and 44 percent for Clinton
There must be some kind of mistake. Did these women not get the memo that they're supposed to vote with their vaginas?
They're obviously not using their brains if they're going for Carson.
Did you see the other choice? No, you obviously didn't.
Most women love chocolate.
I would argue that they are voting with their vaginas. Think about it.
they've had milk chocolate, now they want to try dark
Are you two spooning right now?
No, but I'm interested. I have a spoon, now I just need some ganache.
Did you just out yourself as a chocolate snob?
possibly, once I made a chocolate cake with earl grey-infused ganache
You had me at "made a chocolate cake."
I watched a Bizarre Foods that featured a Fois-gras (sic) chocolate...each to their own. Spoon on you two.
I can match the color, but not the flavor.
Sounds delicious.
Well, now that the US has gone black maybe we'll never go back?
re: Ben Carson...
I feel like i should write an Op-Ed for Salon or Slate or something, making a very-serious argument that not only should America elect Ben Carson because he's black....
....but that America should ONLY elect black presidents from here on out. And if you think otherwise? Ugh. Racist.
I think it could be done by doing some word-replacement in a Ta-Nesi Coates article. America must accept the fact that Black-Only presidencies are the price need to pay for a less White Supremacist society.
#BlackPresidentsMatter
Jesus, if those two are going to be the main candidates, I...I...have no idea what I'll do. I'll be scared I guess.
If Carson won, you would get four years of telling Progs they just don't like him because they can't handle it that there is a black man in the White House. Come on, tell me that wouldn't be fun. I honestly can't see how it would ever get old.
I think I'd probably vote for Carson for that reason alone. I'd love to rub it in to my brother-in-law, who is convinced that Hillary is going to win, and informed me several times how racist I was for not voting for Obama.
Balancing that against how he could fuck up the country though? Man. You're right though. It would be fun.
Could he fuck up the country anymore than Obama has or Hillary would? I didn't think so.
And there is the added bonus that he is an actual brain surgeon. So every time some Prog starts bitching about him, after you explain how he is just saying that because he can't handle a black man being President, you add "The President is a brain surgeon and you have a masters' in puppetry, I am pretty sure he understands what he is doing more than you do."
Could he fuck up the country anymore than Obama has or Hillary would? I didn't think so.
Oh it's possible. But I'd like to think he'd be ineffectual. No one in DC would respect him. He has no charisma and would have no clout despite being president.
Hillary won't have party control of Congress so it would be impossible for her worst to be worse than Carson's worst. Hillary is a criminal and incredibly vain but Carson is retarded.
Yeah that will never work. Somehow liberals will twist this into "Conservatives had to run an Uncle Tom to prove they aren't racist, but they are still totally racist!"
The Uncle Tom says some pretty stupid things about gays, which is why he would never win.
The word "Uncle Tom" seems to be just jam packed full of racist tropes, expectations, stereotypes and derision. Far more than the word "nigger" could ever contain.
That is what they will say but it won't work. It will drive them nuts. It would be a special circle of hell for Progs to have to see a black man with the wrong politics as President.
I always thought it was an especially mendacious form of racism to call any black person whose political ideology strays from the progressive liberal plantation an Uncle Tom, but I've seen them do it enough times that it doesn't even shock me anymore.
damnit, not mendacious, but especially disgusting
They are at heart total racists. They say those things because they don't view black people are full human beings.
Analogous situation: Margaret Thatcher. If it were a Morris Thatcher who got elected in 1979 on same policies, there'd be about the half hate directed at him 25 years after he resigned.
I read today that all the major Republicans beat the HilDog head to head except for Trump.
How does that work when he is ahead in most primary pols except for one or two that have Carson in front of him ?
My money is still on Cruz when the dust settles.
"How does that work"
....
....
polling republican voters, versus polling all voters?
And asking who they'd vote for in primary versus general election?
Are you kidding?
It works the same way [cardboard cutout] would beat Obama according to polls in early 2011.
I reference an It's Always Sunny joke above, because another classic line popped into my head during my lunch break: "The streets are flooded with the ejaculate of the homeless"
This is just anecdotal, but there certainly seems to be more bums in New York this year. Maybe it's like this every summer / warm fall and I don't remember, but it's pretty darn crazy. I can't imagine how bad it is out there in San Fran or Seattle.
More crime more bums fewer employees. America has truly become great since 2000.
I live in a small town 30 minutes from St. Louis and bums are everywhere. Kinda like TWD but with more smellz.
My experience, nice weather just makes them more visible.
Yeah, I'm seeing more bums in recent years. Hell, the city itself has a million more people than around 20 years ago. It is just so much more crowded everywhere.
But for bums I have never witnessed anything like SF. And that was 20 years ago when I lived there - it must be off the charts now.
The Explorer's program is no longer just a way to take a teenager's virginity. Free cam shows!
I'd argue that he was exposing the children participating the the Explorer's Program to the fact that the police are more than haoopy to abuse the public trust.

Failure to woo minority voters helps tank Houston's 'bathroom ordinance'
I think the HERO legislation clearly failed in its own marketing if the easiest way to refer to it is as the "bathroom ordinance"
But how may Proggy news sites were blaming Blacks and Hispanics for the failure of a "Discrimination Lawsuit Bonanza"? .... a quick glance at Salon shows one article bemoaning "the Phyllis Schlaflys of the world ", and another "Right Wing Christians".... neither ever mentioning black or hispanic voters even once
That article is glorious in its entirety!
I mean, clearly, if you can't sue businesses for discrimination, you can't expect business to come to your city!
good point.
I doubt most business owners are saying, "lets ensure to locate somewhere where its getting easier to be sued"
I also think this idea that ....if you "don't have a comprehensive anti-discrimination ordinance" = You're Pro-Bigotry...
is far too common an argument, and patently insane. You might as well be selling Tiger Repelling Rocks
Oh, shit, I didn't understand the 4D chess in play!
Once you have anti-discrimination law - you can sue the business for NOT coming to your city. Because they are clearly discriminating against you!
It's truly a cunning plan that cannot fail.
Well, the giant politically connected corporations already follow the right religion anyway. I'm pretty sure that's what they mean by business, at least in any sort of form they would see as desirable. They're much easier for the central planners to control, even in the absence of state ownership.
Given that Texas has been single-handedly responsible for keeping the US job creation numbers above 0 for the past few years, and Houston is a major part of that, I'm not sure that statement makes the correlation they hope it would.
"The shitter law"
Impossible. I have been told that immigrants are taking America to the socialist hell zone.

Yep. Looks a lot like any issue of the Chicago Tribune in 1931. Cops and "dry killers" roamed These States gunning down people at will with no fear of anything but the show trials described in the Declaration of Independence. Wasn't there something in that declaration about replacing murdering looter governments?

PROBLEM: Affirmative Action
A Whites don't benefit from it.
B Breaks an American Tradition of hundreds of year.
C Big Business doesn't benefit.
SOLUTION: Let's eliminate Affirmative Action
A Let's get rid of Affirmative Action RIGHT NOW.
A Deny admissions for non-whites for the same period Affirmative Action was in Place in education, employment, etc.. The will RIGHT that terrible WRONG that was committed to so many whites for so many years.
B Invalidate the Educational credentials of all non-whites that have been educated in the United States during the affirmative action. These non-whites are undeserving of the education they received and are FRAUDs. They are simply unqualified and should go back to picking cotton or changing bedpans at the local old-aged home. And, if they don't like that and start making noise, We have a free-market prison system waiting for them.
These should do the trick. America is a country of Laws. The government has no business leveling a playing field that is already level.
Once complete and Affirmative Action, Voting Rights Protection, and all of these other so-called "I got to start liking the nigger laws" are gone, we will see the good will of people and non-whites won't be disenfranchized at all.
And if they don't like it, they can go back to Africa. This will save America a lot of money on Welfare and Jails.
Affirmative Action is obviously racist, but your rant is viciously racist. You might consider looking up a more friendly organization in the yellow pages. Starts with K.
It's a troll. You can safely ignore him. Just yesterday he was arguing radioactive fallout from atom bomb testing was the fault of the free market and not an example of the government polluting.
At the time I teased him for being so stupid that he didn't know how to tie shoelaces.
But upon reflection I realize he is something even more pathetic - someone who says stupid shit in an attempt to rile up people he doesn't like. He is not even worth abusing.
I love the people that comment on REASON.COM and have been here for at least six years.
I didn't say it was the fault of the Free Market. Either I articulated it wrong or everyone is just reading it wrong.
What I meant to say that it was a Free Market that built the Bomb. The government sponsored and directed its us. But it wasn't government employees. It was private companies that built it. The Free Market.
You don't know what the 'free market' is. You're a child that uses words and terms you don't know the meaning of.
I'm a big fan of the Free Market. A regulated free market.
I think Progressives (non-commie) and Libertarians both want free markets.
And, both want their free markets protected.
Where we differ is in the degree of protection and who should be protected.
"I'm a big fan of the Free Market. A regulated free market."
Would you also like some cold fire?
In a free market, would you at least like a cop around to stop the people from shoplifting from your store? Or, are you one of those Puritan Libertarians that believe we should have no cops/laws/courts and the store owner should just protect his goods with a shotgun?
"In a free market, would you at least like a cop around to stop the people from shoplifting from your store?"
Yes. This is not REGULATION. Again, you don't understand what words mean.
As if there is something wrong with this concept...
There's nothing wrong with this. In America, we allow the business owner to protect their property.
What I am saying is that all people (Liberal, Conservative/Libertarian, Communist, etc.) want laws (that benefit them and can care less of laws that benefit others).
If you can't distinguish between free markets and private business, you need to go back to the kiddie pool. Economic liberalism was born in large part as a reaction to corporatism.
Reasonable is my friend.
Unlike JIm Crow Laws which are simply "FUCK YOU LAWS" Black people to purposely FUCK the entire lot of black people. Affirmative Action, in spirit, was never a "FUCK YOU TO WHITE PEOPLE" law.
Seats are limited in colleges, jobs, etc. It was an attempt to change things. And the free market wasn't working.
I'm glad for affirmative action and welfare. I grew up in the projects and probably being accepted into College was aided by this. The vast majority of us non-whites benefited from this.
And we have the generosity of White People to thank. Liberal White people because if it was up to libertarians/conservatives, we'd still be in the back of the bus.
"the free market wasn't working."
Yes it was.
"if it was up to libertarians/conservatives, we'd still be in the back of the bus."
Stop lying.
The free market was definitely working for white people. You got me there.
Nevertheless, conservatives/libertarians fight tooth-and-nail against any law to help out blacks.
Us people of color understand that no law will change the hearts/minds of people. People that hate you will hate you even more once a protectionist law is put in place. But as a benefactor of these protectionist laws, I'd prefer the opportunities that allowed me to move up a social class (or two) that Affirmative action did for us. Doing nothing, as libertarians/conservatives wanted, would had done just that...NOTHING !!!
"Nevertheless, conservatives/libertarians fight tooth-and-nail against any law to help out blacks."
Another lie. Who is it fighting for school choice? Us.
"The free market was definitely working for white people."
And everyone else involved.
I'll give you that Mr. Toxic. And I'm on board with School Choice. After debating Vouchers for years here at REASON.COM and other sites, my views did change and I'm all on board to get rid of the Board of Education/Government run schools and replacing them with privately run schools and a financial education voucher system allowing kids to go anywhere.
I'm old enough to know that the free market would had done ZERO to help our situation. That doesn't mean I hate the FREE MARKET. It just wasn't able to address this one issue.
"I'm old enough to know that the free market would had done ZERO to help our situation. "
Your age has nothing to do with anything. Your ignorance is constant however.
I always wonder about conclusions for which the evidence is manifested in the future tense.
Jackie Robinson says Hi.
That was the free market.
You stupid fuck, Jim Crow LAWS weren't an example of the Free Market.
Here is a textbook example of how any paltering or compromise with prohibitionist mystical bigot conservative whack jobs undermines libertarian credibility and emaciates the law-changing value of our spoiler votes. We need for whining looters to hate us because we aren't murdering looters, not because we they can credibly depict us as abetting murdering nationalsocialist police-state conservatives.
Liberal White people because if it was up to libertarians/conservatives, we'd still be in the back of the bus.
Thanks to progressive white people, the bus is your only choice.
Not for me, and not for many people that were brought out of projects.
I can only speak for myself. I got to where I am in life in the upper middle class with the help of many many people. Practically all of them where white. And although not all progressives, I'm grateful to all.
So grateful you'll continue to oppress some of them by supporting affirmative action.
Giving one or two seats to non-whites doesn't oppress white people. But like I said, you can deny admission to non-whites to RIGHT that terrible WRONG.
What are you proposing Mr. Toxic? Should we just stop giving seats to non-whites?
With Affirmative Action, one seat will be reserved for the coloured boy. And contrary to popular believe, it's not the stupidest no-tooth nigger in the batch, it will go to the nigger with the highest grade.
Or, do you want TEST-BASED admission system?
- Administer a written test to all Students
- If ten seats are open, take the top ten grades
Would you prefer this system?
See what I mean?
Ideas that are so stupidly offensive that they are not even worth acknowledging let alone debating.
The dude just wants attention; like the kid who shoots spitballs at the girls so that people notice him.
The harshest thing you could do to him is to ignore his childish dribble of non-sequiturs and false dichotomies. He'd probably say stupider and more outrageous stuff in a bid to piss off people to the point they engage with him.
Ignoring him is the best thing anyone who isn't Mike Alisi could do. Actually Mike as well. He is such a pathetic antagonist that he doesn't even merit a public scorning.
Tarran, you know me for years. I just have a colorful way of putting things.
There's nothing RACISTS about what I said unless you believe that
Affirmative Action = Actions taking against black for hundreds of years.
Perhaps you believe two wrongs to make a right.
I'm pointing out this:
1. Affirmative Action is was very helpful to me and many others.
2. Us people of color don't believe racism when away. We still believe that the people that hate us continue to hate us and they pass on that sentiment to their children.
3. If you were to eliminate Affirmative Action, they only reason people of color would get in is because of non-white School Board members...which were put there by affirmative action in the first place.
I don't know where you stand. I don't know if you feel that we should never had implemented it or if it was a good idea at the time and it should be gotten rid of now.
But either way, I'm debating this point...in my colorful exaggerated way.
"Retarded" is not a color
You and John were made for one another.
"Giving one or two seats to non-whites doesn't oppress white people."
Yes it does because they are excluded (assuming this is done by government coercion/inducement).
I want pure fucking meritocracy end of story. Doesn't matter what the race make up that results is.
If it were a pure meritocracy, which I support by the way, a significant amount of whites would be wiped out by the Asians. As what happened in Berkeley.
I'm all for a meritocracy and FULL TRANSPARENCY. I want to know my grade and everyone else's grade. I will not accept a "Oh, sorry, you didn't get in" letter.
Discussion settled: Eliminate Affirmative Action and ONLY have a WRITTEN ADMISSION TEST and prior-school GPA in which no human decides who gets in.
Little problem with your list of problems... so that kind of throws off the rest of the rant.
Thats kinda crazy when you think about it.
