The Tea Party vs. John Boehner
House Speaker John Boehner's surprise resignation on Friday has Republicans scrambling to figure out what next steps to take. While Boehner's announcement cited turmoil among his members and inspiration from the Pope's visit as the reasons behind his decision to call it quits, other Capitol Hill players had blunter theories. John McCain and Peter King both suggested that he was pushed out by the more conservative members—or as King prefers to call them, "the crazies"—who have increasingly made no bones about their dissatisfaction with Boehner.
Back in 2011, Reason TV took a look at the early forces that coalesced to fight the Speaker, the growing influence of which may have led to his downfall this week. Watch The Tea Party vs. John Boehner below.

"John McCain and Peter King both suggested that he was pushed out by the more conservative members?or as King prefers to call them, "the crazies".
In DC speak (both sides of the aisle), "the crazies" are people who want to cut spending.
McCain and King both care about being re-elected more than anything else, so calling for spending cuts IS crazy to them.
In all cases, the first thing mentioned about Peter King should be his apologia for Southern Irish terrorists, and he should be laughed out of the room for it.
And his punchable face
Peter King is not an intellectually serious man. A reptilian cunning, yes, but there is nothing there. King, like William Donohue of the Catholic League, has only one instinctual display of hissing threat. Watch where you step, listen for the rattle, but otherwise it's a waste of time paying him any attention.
Even if they don't want to cut spending, unless they agree with a Democrat they are still called "the crazies." It appears to be a trait of the Fourth Estate style guides.
And to reward McCain for his moderation, Joseph Lieberman got put on a list of list of Top 10 traitors for supporting McCain over Obama.
At least Lieberman was only #10.
IIRC, the Speaker of the House need not be a sitting House member. I nominate Ron Paul.
I would make a good House Speaker.
I already made my nomination. Go fish.
Where in the house could I put you though? Maybe up on the mantle......but you'd better not interrupt my tv. I hope your voice isn't like Fran Drescher's......cause that would get annoying.
Certainly not the drawing room, where visitors might be offended. Certainly not the anteroom either. What about the shed out back?
That ones all full of woodchippers...wait...that would be PERFECT!
Lolz. They would never select Ron as speaker. The warmongers would have strokes. Judge Napolitano would also make a great speaker. He can tell all of them to go fuck themselves in so many eloquent ways.
Could he tell them? Or would we relentlessly pose rhetorical question after rhetorical question? Would his delivery be better if he incorporated a Seinfeld impression?
What's the deal with people doing the Seinfeld impressions?
Penn Jillette would be good, in theory. Until he makes one of his crazy left turns into Pennistan and demands vaccine armed snipers to inoculate the children of Rich White Liberals who refuse vaccinations.*
*They refuse vaccinations for their children, but make sure their dogs and cats have all of their shots.
Teller would be better. Imagine the SOTU speech done without speaking.
Ron is a senile nutbar. Choose someone lucid instead, like me.
Jeffrey A. Tucker is my second choice.
Matt Salmon, Tea Party Republican from Arizona has already basically said as much. Why cite the sore losers?
"McCain and King both care about being re-elected more than anything else,.."
Just like Dandy Randy Paul!

The Tea Party is currently frothing at the mouth over Planned Parenthood. There's still no credible voice in the GOP to get us any closer to a balanced budget. Republicans buy their votes with "free stuff" every bit as much as democrats.
There's still no credible voice in the GOP to get us any closer to a balanced budget.
Amish?
Did i spell that right?
Spending on Planned Parenthood.
"There's still no credible voice in the GOP to get us any closer to a balanced budget. "
Wrong. Amash, Massie, and Paul are all very credible voices. Cruz and that Utah guy are somewhat credible.
5/535
🙁
Progress?
Mike Lee. And that would 5/635, since we're including Senators.
Do senators count twice? 435+100=535
He seems better than average. He forgets about the 10th amendment when it comes to gambling laws thought doesn't he? That makes a lukewarm feeling of kinda-okayness the best I can muster for him.
OT: Is the IRS in Collusion with the Clinton Foundation?
With a Lois Lerner connection, of course.
"That is why I am actively reaching out to investigative journalists."
Good luck with that. They are more likely to tar him and whitewater wash it then investigate a Clinton bribery/corruption scandal.
Speaking of the lying press covering for Hilary here is good ol Weigel pretending that Hilary did not start the birther movement:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-j.....-movement/
For those who do not remember Weigel was at Reason during the 2008 election and wrote about a billion articles trying to link the GOP with the Birther movement and he was later exposed as being the JounoLists front man at Reason.
I saw that. You know that some think Weigel is Palin's Buttplug/Shriek, right?
As for investigative journalists, these days they're not all liberal. Plus, even liberals sometimes can't resist a juicy story.
"You know that some think Weigel is Palin's Buttplug/Shriek, right?"
I had originally thought Buttplug/Shriek were other iterations of OhioOrrin. Went back and looked at some old comments though and not so sure. Definitely same lefty troll idiocy, different style though.
Honestly I would say none of them are "liberal" as Sargon of Akkad would describe it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH0mPfR-K2U
They are either progressives or straight up Marxists. But yeah i guess there might be someone who will cover it.....
*Cough*...breitbart...*cough*
"You know that some think Weigel is Palin's Buttplug/Shriek, right?"
That is just weird and I never understood it. Shrike is not really an SJW like Weigel is. Plus Weigel has never had much interest in the markets or economy like shrike has and Weigel also has a greater interest in pop culture then Shrike. Ditto social media.
Also Weigel is better at defending/denying his opinions and political positions.
If someone said Weigel was Bo or Joe or even Tony I would still not believe it but would say it was far more likely then him being Shrike.
WDATPDIM?
"pretending that Hilary did not start the birther movement:"
Are you seriously suggesting she did? CITATION NEEDED
There is a link...click it genius.
"Penn proposed targeting Obama's "lack of American roots.""
Not strong enough too vague.
That quote refers to Hillary's attempt at starting a "Obama is a space lizard" rumor, which was quickly abandoned when her handlers figured it might backfire.
I've caught the vile cretin posting the same exact stupid shit on his Twitter account that he posts here at about the exact same time on a few occasions. They're one and the same.
An abomination, I tell you! An abomination! God help us all!

House Speaker John Boehner's sudden resignation Friday "signals that the crazies have taken over the party," New York Republican Peter King said Friday.
I don't even know what to say to that. Can the crazies possibly be any worse than the morally bankrupt and the stupid and the venal, the party of skin-crawlingly loathsome pieces of shit the likes of Peter King?
+1 Peter King = POS
That's terrorist supporter Peter King = POS. Can't be said enough.
Maybe, the sack of shit could self-defenestrate himself to escape the crazies.
I was hoping he would run for President so I could ridicule him non-stop for a few months.
More awesome examples of the Obama Foreign Relations Chess-Mastery =
Despite the Billions in US Aid and Arms, Iraq Sees Russia/Syria/Iraq as Better Allies in Fight Against ISIS
Kerry sounds both desperate and indignant =
""I think the critical thing is that all of the efforts need to be coordinated," Mr. Kerry said at the start of a meeting in New York with Sergey V. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister. "This is not yet coordinated. I think we have concerns about how we're going to go forward, but that's precisely what we're meeting on to talk about now.""
Iraq = "Dear USA, we tried what you wanted, and it got us nowhere. Now we're going to do something else. You can either pretend that you 'agree', or you can disagree and look stupid because we both know you're not going to lift a fucking finger."
The theoretical objective the US had in the Syrian endgame was for a friendly Sunni regime to replace the Iranian-Backed Shiite/Alawite Assad regime...which would also be part of an effort to "Stabilize" iraq by forcing them to accept Sunni blocs in government.
Whoops! Change of plans - Now it seems the endgame is to solidify the shiite crescent all the way from Tehran to Damascus.
But Obama has ended wars, made the Muslim world love us, and Hillary has reset things with Russia. I don't know how you missed all that.
Ugh cripes just adopt defined and achievable goals already. Beat on ISIS until they are just another insurgency, bomb other terrorists trying to hurt 'Merica, help the Kurds and let them export oil, and let Israel handle the rest. America isn't responsible for creating ISIS or much else in that region and it doesn't have to make everyone get along.
Or you know just leave the Middle east Persia and Africa entirely and let Europe deal with it...or not deal with it. Who gives a fuck.
Why anyone on this side of the Atlantic still gives a fuck enough to keep paying trillions in blood and treasure still blows my mind.
Cyto isn't going to pay trillions in blood in treasure. That's why he's still so gung ho about it. He literally isn't affected at all by injuries/deaths of Americans or the loss of trillions of dollars in the Middle Eastern quagmire, but he's got plenty of ideas for what America needs to do.
I am affected by the campaigns waged by ISIS and those like it to kill the unbelievers like myself.
"Cyto isn't going to pay trillions in blood in treasure. "
No one is. Bombing ISIS & Co. really shouldn't cost that much.
Then you pay for it. Those of us who have been paying for it and the others like it are tired of doing so.
Nope. That's not how it works. This is the government's job.
Which government? Mine or yours? I'm pretty sure your government isn't doing it. The day you become an American citizen I'll be glad to regard your opinion as to what America needs to do as legitimate.
" I'm pretty sure your government isn't doing it. "
Pretty sure you're just uninformed.

Retarded jingoism: not just for conservatives!
You realize when you're down to 'NOT MERICAN NOT LEGITIMATE' you've lost right? Face it, I'm just a lot smarter than you. You = Cyto-pwnd
You realize when you're down to 'NOT MERICAN NOT LEGITIMATE' you've lost right?
I will throw you a bone.
People throw that shit at you to piss you off.
But regardless of your nationality you are an idiot bloodthirsty neocon who is blind to very recent history in regards to the effectiveness of US military action in the middle east.
A 30 day deployment of military advisers and participating in four airstrikes? That's the best you've got? There have been thousands of airstrikes by the United States (5,461 as of September 22), and you've "participated in" four? Oh man, that's rich. And you've sent a few dozen guys to "advise". Awesome. Good job. You know who else has flown four missions? Denmark. You'll get a ribbon for participation. In the meantime, it's pretty damn clear who is doing all the work, and whose taxpayers are footing the bill.
As to your second silliness: American citizens are the ones who are supposed to govern America. Canadians, the last time I checked, don't get to vote in our elections unless they have dual citizenship. It's not jingoism to respect a nation's sovereignty. I don't have any business telling Canada what to do. It's not my country. And you don't have any business telling America what to do.
The fact that you absolutely fail to comprehend your utter lack of standing is astounding as is your lack of reading comprehension and inability to engage in honest debate. You are so busy patting yourself on the back for how smart you are that you completely miss how silly you appear.
One last thing: when you have to tell everybody else how smart you are, it usually means that you're stupid.
" It's not jingoism to respect a nation's sovereignty. I don't have any business telling Canada what to do. It's not my country. And you don't have any business telling America what to do."
BAHAHAHAHAHAHHA Idiotarian P is pretending that my convictions and discussion of them here somehow violate America's sovereignty.
"One last thing: when you have to tell everybody else how smart you are, it usually means that you're stupid."
Not in my case. I just mopped the floor with you and left you sputtering about sovereignty and empty pablum. CYTO-PWND
"But regardless of your nationality you are an idiot bloodthirsty neocon who is blind to very recent history in regards to the effectiveness of US military action in the middle east."
I learned that the US military can quell an insurgency, which is exactly what it did in Iraq after its leadership stopped being retarded.
Go nuts, Canada
"I am affected by the campaigns waged by ISIS and those like it to kill the unbelievers like myself."
We'll draw a crescent moon on the jar that stores your head, to keep you safe, Nathaniel.
Your comparison of myself to Branden is most flattering thank you.
"Why anyone on this side of the Atlantic still gives a fuck enough to keep paying trillions in blood and treasure still blows my mind."
It's been explained to you many times, but being as deranged as you are there wasn't much hope for getting through.
For the lucid people listening: ISIS hates us for our freedoms, and they will and are going to attack us for things like drawing pictures of Mo.
Bullshit. ISIS doesn't hate us for our freedoms. Seriously, how big a motivator do you think someone else having freedoms is for anyone? They hate us because they believe that we are the primary supporter of Israel, have been meddling in the affairs of the Islamic World for decades, have had troops on holy soil, and because we will be the chief obstacle to their achieving their aims. But it isn't for "our freedoms".
Plus ISIS is not a direct threat to the United States (or Canada), no matter how feverishly you might believe it. Yes, they have kidnapped Americans who were in the Middle East, but that doesn't make them a legitimate threat.
Also, there are plenty of non-ISIS Muslims who view the drawing of images of Mohammed as blasphemy and might try to hurt you for it. Should we bomb them too? Just in case?
" ISIS doesn't hate us for our freedoms."
Yes they do and they have said as much. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....48308.html
"Seriously, how big a motivator do you think someone else having freedoms is for anyone? "
Big enough to shoot up everyone at Charlie Hebdo.
"They hate us because they believe that we are the primary supporter of Israel, have been meddling in the affairs of the Islamic World for decades, have had troops on holy soil"
So why haven't they attacked or even mentioned France's military domination of North Africa and most of its other "ex"-colonies?
"Plus ISIS is not a direct threat to the United States (or Canada), no matter how feverishly you might believe it."
Did you hear about these guys in Afghanistan? They think they're going to kill thousands of people with BOXCUTTERS! So not a threat.
" there are plenty of non-ISIS Muslims who view the drawing of images of Mohammed as blasphemy and might try to hurt you for it. Should we bomb them too? "
If they organize themselves into a terrorist state like IS or another organization for the purposes of killing the blasphemers then yeah duh.
It's AMAZING how much more knowledgeable I am on the subject matter compared to you. Religious belief ie non-interventionism will do that to you. You should probably just quit now and save yourself some embarrassment, if you're capable of feeling embarrassment.
You cite Huffington Post's reporting on Twitter trends? That's the best you can do? And I notice that nowhere in any of that morass is anything about ISIS hating us for our freedoms. Maybe you didn't think I'd read the whole thing.
North Africa isn't a Islamic holy site, you idiot, but I'm pretty sure Charlie Hebdo was a French newspaper, so the French were indeed attacked. You can't even keep your facts straight for two paragraphs.
Guys in Afghanistan with boxcutters? Regardless of what weaponry they have, unless they can get to America with it, they aren't a direct threat to America. Maybe you should try to figure out what words mean before attempting to reply.
For someone who claims to know so much you're amazingly ignorant and incapable of anything other than self congratulation. I'll quit now because it's amazingly easy to make you look foolish. Come back when you have something that actually bolsters what you laughingly refer to as your points.
"On Friday, after the Kouachi brothers were killed, a member of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula ? the militant group's Yemen-based affiliate ? confirmed to The Associated Press that it had coordinated the Paris attack. "
HAHAHAHA you fucking retard. Maybe you should RTFA before admonishing others for not reading the article.
"North Africa isn't a Islamic holy site"
Never said it was. What this has to do with anything is a mystery.
"I'm pretty sure Charlie Hebdo was a French newspaper, so the French were indeed attacked"
For their freedoms, not their colonialism. I guess I will have to spoon-feed everything to you. Because you're retarded.
"Guys in Afghanistan with boxcutters? Regardless of what weaponry they have, unless they can get to America with it, they aren't a direct threat to America. "
The guys with the boxcutters were in Afghanistan. Lrn2read
"For someone who claims to know so much you're amazingly ignorant and incapable of anything other than self congratulation. I'll quit now because it's amazingly easy to make you look foolish. Come back when you have something that actually bolsters what you laughingly refer to as your points."
THE IRONY THE LACK OF AWARENESS
Al Qaida is not ISIS. We were talking about ISIS. Next.
France had a single killing at a newspaper. The motivation behind the attack was a slur against a religion (for which you can be held legally liable in France, so there goes the freedom argument). Doesn't prove at all they hate "us" (which is now apparently France) for our freedoms.
What guys with boxcutters are you talking about? The 911 hijackers? I'm pretty sure they hijacked planes in America, no Afghanistan. If they had been in Afghanistan nobody would care.
Oh, and all caps also makes you look silly.
"Why anyone on this side of the Atlantic still gives a fuck enough to keep paying trillions in blood and treasure still blows my mind."
Ask someone who is smart enough to be on the receiving end of those trillions. They might clear things up for you.
Ask someone who is smart enough to be on the receiving end of those trillions.
Cytotoxic aint' one of them...he is just a useful idiot for them.
I am far more knowledgeable on this subject (and pretty much every other subject) than you are even capable of being. Ooohh am I also a useful idiot for big pharma because I believe everyone should get vaccinated? Don't forget to check off every single item on the crackpot check list!
"because I believe everyone should get vaccinated?"
Huh?
Hey i like the fact that everyone gets vaccinated. I just am pointed out that it is not irrational to not vaccinate my hypothetical non-existent children if everyone else vaccinates given the very low chance of ever getting one of the diseases everyone else is vaccinated for given the risks associated with vaccination which include risk of death.
I will say it is irrational to tell anyone that you are not vaccinating your kids. Keep that shit a secret so no one else does the same thing.
"Don't forget to check off every single item on the crackpot check list!"
Yup me the crackpot who in 2015 thinks maybe bombing random brown people does jack and shit for furthering US interests....cuz the sane people in room have shown it to work so well over the past 20+ years.
"Hey i like the fact that everyone gets vaccinated. Ah the strawman. Non-comprehension: not just for liberals.
"cuz the sane people in room have shown it to work so well over the past 20+ years."
It actually has. Hurt Al-Shabbab and AQAP.
This thread certainly demonstrates that I am the Dr. Gregory House of foreign policy at H&R!
Why, because neither of you know shit about foreign policy?
No, because I am hated for being right and tight by a bunch of whiny, emotional cunts.

Sounds about right...
Irrational? Maybe you should watch the show.

We all know you are really Nathaniel Branden's head in a jar of nutrient fluid.
A crazy asshole foreigner who pretends to be American, and can't distinguish reality from his drug induced delusions?
Maybe the US government should consider actually putting people in positions of national importance, you know like head of the State Department, by their qualifications instead of this constant circle jerk of crony political hacks. Just saying, that might be a good idea. What the hell qualifies Cankles and Lurch as Secretary of State? If being butt ugly, crooked, and retarded are qualifications, then ok, otherwise, no wonder the Middle East would prefer Putin.
Knocking Boeher out of politics is a solid feather in the hat of the otherwise ailing TP movement, even more so than ousting Cantor.

They're lucky that the Raiders secondary truly sucks ballz, or they would have gotten killed in that game.
In the Atlantic (I believe- I'm jumping back and forth between computers, so no linky 4 u), some whiny dope "analyzes" the insurgency of backstabbers who have forced poor old John Boner overboard. They are, in a nutshell, anti-government and anti-Washington kooks.
Because anybody willing to ask if Washington's powers are truly unlimited can only be insane.
And anybody who even contemplates the notion that the government cannot spend unlimited amounts of money is by definition unfit to govern.
Hey, it's not as if the country was founded on anti-government principles or anything....
It wasn't, you idiot.

I read that Jonathan Rauch free Kindle book that was featured here last week and I think his thesis in part applies here.
Since the methods traditionally used to control members are now eliminated or weakened including the big money flowing to members from highly-focused outside groups instead of from the party the members have to be more extreme to sell themselves to these donors. And they can ignore the party hierarchy.
Therefore it's next to impossible to get the members to tow the lion.
So if you're a party leader inclined to moderation, compromise, and deal making there is no place for you anymore and thus no point to stay in.
This could all be different if instead of egging them on in their extremism and inflexibility, the Republican party had sat all the baggers down and given them a lesson from their 8th grade civics text, chapter 3: How Congress Works. Put Rush Limbaugh himself in the speaker's chair and watch the peasants turn on him the moment he's not able to get the votes to impeach Obama and impose Christian sharia.
