Matt Welch Explains Why Hillary Clinton is a Brazen Liar
The email scandal only gets worse.
As Hillary Clinton takes her campaign to Puerto Rico this weekend, the scandal over her use of personal email continues to progress.
This week, it was announced that a former State Department employee who worked on Clinton's email server will invoke the Fifth Amendment in response to Congressional inquiries on the Clinton server. (You can read more in-depth coverage here.)
The uproar over her alleged use of personal email to handle classified information leaves the near-anointed Democratic frontrunner scrambling to calm donors and supporters. On Thursday, Edward Snowden appeared on Al-Jazeera and said that Clinton "intentionally endangered U.S. international security by being so careless with her email" and that if any other worker at the State Department had did what she had done "they would very likely face prosecution for it."
As more details are expected to emerge, Reason's Matt Welch asks Hillary's democratic supporters why they would want a brazen liar in the White House? Full clip below:
In March, Hillary Clinton said, "there is no classified material" on her private email server.
Reuters located 30 Clinton email threads containing classified material on her private email server.
On Monday, 188 new classified emails were discovered from her private email server.
So what's Clinton saying now? "I have said repeatedly that I did not send nor receive classified material."
Question for you Democrats: Do you really want a liar this brazen in the White House?

Disturbingly weird that video is.
So that's upsetting
"Reason's Matt Welch asks Hillary's democratic supporters why they would want a brazen liar in the White House?"
Hillary is a woman.
Matt Welch is a white, male, heterosexual.
That scores +1 for Hillary and -3 for Matt, so they believe Hillary, and that's why Hillary's democratic supporters want a brazen liar in White House.
P.S. Also, we're not talking about making a big change in that department. We've had brazen liars in the White House since at least 1992.
1992? You're being generous.
We've had brazen liars in office pretty much continuously since . . . well, the beginning, with only short breaks of people who were simply liars but not brazen ones.
I think, in my lifetime (Nixon on), the only president who qualifies as 'honest' was Carter.
Nixon and Ford - brazen liars. Reagan (*maybe* - I like Ronnie Raygun so that may be coloring my view of him), and Bush Sr - simple liars. Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama - brazen liars again.
'89-93 President was infamous for lying about increasing taxes. He was later awarded a "profile in courage " for his dishonesty while his sons, Uday and Qusay Jeb and W., proudly looked on.
"Read my lips, no new taxes." That sunk him.
Reagan's Contra speech was as masterful as anything Clinton did. I'd throw him in the brazen liar category. That and his long running small government image while expanding government enormously during his time in office.
I don't think of H.W. Bush as a simple liar but as someone who was a total establishment guy from the start and lies are just part of that fabric.
Ex-head of CIA so...
Reagan's chief accomplishment, by being elected POTUS X 2, was to make talking about shrinking gov't respectable again, after Goldwater had made it disrespectable. Phil Crane talked the same way, but Reagan was more electable. Not Goldwater's or Phil Crane's fault, just the way things broke.
Even Carter was no angel. Remember how they a made a big deal of him carrying his own bag? It was often empty.
People ask me why I don't vote.
I point to the political class: "This is the best you can do. Why should I bother? Why do you bother?"
The question answers itself.
Question for you Democrats: Do you really want a liar this brazen in the White House?
Oh, come on. This is a really silly question. Most democrat voters could care less as long as the brazen liar is on their team.
The entire real issue here is the server itself. It's very existence is the problem. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a brain dead idiot. No one, and I mean NO ONE sets up a fucking private email server to handle their work related email. And this is not just any business, it's the damn State Department for Christs sake. Also, why are we talking about wiping a hard drive and deleting emails? ALL of these emails must by law be backed up and stored off site for a specified number of years. Failure to do so is a federal crime. The American public are the dumbest bunch of fucking retards ever collected in one country. If they weren't, Hillary would be in prison right now.
Follow this thought to the influence-peddling, money-laundering scheme that is CGI.
Some circles on the left are claiming without evidence that Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice did the same thing, so it's OK. I've seen the claim on FB and lefty websites multiple times. Utter bullshit.
My answer to them, shut the fuck up you idiots. Bush did it too is not an excuse for doing something. Did that work with your parents, you inbred morons?
I LEARNED IT FROM YOU DAD! I learned it from *you*!
I 1st read that as, "I LEARNED IT FROM YOUR DAD!"
Repeating the same experiment over and over and expecting different results is the definition of politics.
More to the point, if your entire metric for moral behavior is that the other team did it or did it too, you might want to re-check the operation of your morality generator.
Eve ate one too.
"Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice did the same thing"
No, they maintained a second email account separate from their State/DoD business. sometimes they overlapped.
Anyone in business also has similar account management issues. You might engage in some comms with a client or co-worker using private account, but you'd always insist that any Documents / transaction approvals / "Business" be conducted on the official account for record-keeping purposes.
The clintons try to muddy the distinction to maintain some kind of rhetorical position that there's somehow no difference between simply maintaining a separate account for private /informal comms ...... and her refusing to use the Official Channels for *any* business dealings, explicitly to avoid having State preserve/control her records.
Hillary Herself claimed this during that recent interview with Andrea Mitchell where she apologized for confusing the American people.
And what Hyperion said. The original sin in all this is creating the server. The original unbelievable lie was that it was created for convenience so she could have all her email on one cell phone. And wiping the server is certainly a crime.
" The original sin in all this is creating the server. "
Yes. Which is why she always asserts without being asked that it was purely "for convenience"... and that "she didn't even stop to think" whether that would be a problem...
...because if there were even the slightest suggestion that it was established with the specific intent to evade Federal document retention/transparency requirements... or if the currently-subpoena'd IT guy ever coughed up that kind of foreknowledge/intent.... that right there would be enough to charge her with a crime.... even ignoring the fact she later destroyed evidence under subpoena.*
(or so we think - i'm sure if push came to shove, they might cough up the server backups if it meant avoiding jail, but i doubt anything will go that far)
Intent's got nothing to do with it.
-Eastwood as AG
No = you're right, there is no need to prove intent for the act to be criminal
but if anyone contradicted her and said that *was* the intent... i think it would be harder for the FBI to avoid charging her.
If the Clinton's say something over and over again, it becomes the truth.
Unless there is a blue dress, that is.
The requirement to archive official email wasn't implemented until 2009ish, so Powell and Rice doing so wouldn't be an issue.
I thought it was several years earlier than that.
Well, I can only speak for the military. I had to set up what would be saved during my last assignment and that was 08-10.
The rule was passed several years before that but there was a given amount of time to get it all set up. Couldn't say what the implementation period was for other government agencies, but I'm nearly certain it was well after Powell and Rice.
Well, just after Rice.
I do remember that an organization (private college) that was a client of mine back in 2006-2007 was dealing with this issue. Can't remember the name of the law it fell under, one of those acronyms with 4-5 letters if I remember correctly.
Irrelevant. They didn't have private servers so the could hide the invoices when they sold uranium to Putin.
And they didn't bitterly cling to all their messages until two years after they left office, when they were compelled to do so.
Not having a public record is precisely why she set up her own server. She could run her shady (maybe not illegal) deals without worrying about them ending up on page 1.
The question is why. The answer is so Clinton Global Initiatives stuff could be hidden from the State Department and congressional oversight. Why? Because it was and is a money-laundering influence-peddling scheme. Racketeers like Bill and Hill don't stand on a street corner and announce their crimes. Racketeers operated in secrecy as do all criminals... when they can.
I doubt her supporters care about her "brazen" lying. They only care that she says things that validate their own feelings. Same for Trump. His supporters don't care that his claims cannot be backed up with fact. He says what they want to hear and that's that.
" Same for Trump. His supporters don't care that his claims cannot be backed up with fact. He says what they want to hear and that's that."
Trump doesn't even really say anything. He just makes the kind of angry grunts and related sounds his supporters like. Basically he has the Cro-magnan vote sown up. Although in fairness Cro-magnan is slightly evolved from SJW.
""I'll be so good at the military, it'll make your head spin! I'm the freaking best! I used to work on race cars""
Hillary should be indicted for crimes against humanity for helping destabilize Syria and Libya, and I'm guessing that she's profited very handsomely indeed from it, all of it being laundered by the great money washing machine called the Clinton Foundation. Disgusting vile pig.
Please name the last honest president.
I heard George Washington could not tell a lie.
Honest Abe?
Why?
Silent Cal. How can you lie when you say nothing?
Because you don't tell the truth?
And if not him, then William Henry Harrison, if only because he had the shortest time to lie while being President. Then again, he did lie in bed the whole time, hmm...
Jimmy Carter. He never lied. 'Fellow Americans, my plan has failed, again' sad face
Didn't he once wrestle a giant swamp rabbit? Are we to believe that?
Let's put it this way. I would rather that Obama would say he wrestled a giant swamp rabbit and have the ability to admit that he's fucked up almost every things he's touched. I mean, even if he could at least admit that he's fucked up something, that would be a start towards having some respect for the guy.
Look, he admits all the time that he has trouble explaining his great ideas and policies to us lowly civilians. What more do you want from the guy, blood?
What more do you want from the guy, blood?
I want him to not be POTUS anymore. In fact, I would like that he go the fuck away and I never have to see his goofy face again, ever.
I guess I'm gonna at least get the first part of the wish.
Unless the Supreme Court suddenly realizes that the 22nd Amendment doesn't really mean what everyone thought it meant all this time. It... uh... violates the equal protection clause of the 14th by depriving African-Americans of their right to vote for Obama again! Yeah, that'll do it.
Papaya, I think the only thing that would induce him to try for a 3rd term, is if he thought there was any chance of him going to jail when he leaves office. I think he'd much rather rake in giant honoraria and play golf at the five courses he somehow missed during his Presidency. I think he doesn't like the responsibility of the job---though the perks and graft are really fucking neat---and he can't wait to leave.
A 3rd term would be interesting, in the Chinese sense.
True, I don't think he wants it. Better to get out while the getting's good, before it all comes crashing down and he can blame it on his successor.
Does it count as lying if he believes his own story?
It's not a lie if you believe it.
- George Costanza
Wha'd Ikenhower lie about, his golf score?
I'm not very historically literate on Eisenhower, but he did one of the most honest things any president has ever done with his final speech in office warning of the MIC.

IIRC, Hillary is now on record to the effect that all questions about her email will be answered.
Leaving aside the Clinton-speak wiggle-room, she should hold a public appearance and give a straight answer under oath to *any* question put to HAHAHAHAHAAA!! Damn, couldn't quite get it out!
There shouldn't be any questions. Why? Because there shouldn't be any missing emails. Just go through the backups and then we'll know what is there. If on the other hand, there are ANY missing emails from those backups, arrest the cunt and put her before a federal court to explain that.
There shouldn't be any questions. Why? Because there shouldn't be any missing emails.
"Why is your IT guy taking the Fifth?"
"Why did you have the server wiped?"
"What did people tell you about your email address?"
"How was the Federal policy on these matters explained to you initially?"
"Why are you so smug and cavalier about possible damage to the United States as a result of your purported 'convenience'?"
Etc. ad nausem
*nauseum* 8-(
It's "na?seam".
Note to self: Use less-subtle sarcasm.
You know what is really scary? Lerner took the fifth and not a damn thing has happened to her. So Hillary and team obviously for good reason think that will work for them too.
So we do indeed now have 2 sets of laws, because if one of us peasants takes the fifth that means we're headed to a prison cell until our trial.
Eh, I took the 5th twice - and shut down an investigation both times.
The one time I cooperated I got booked, photo'd, and fingerprinted.
Taking the 5th is the thing to do if you've committed no underlying crime or you don't believe there's the political will to push through an investigation.
"IIRC, Hillary is now on record to the effect that all questions about her email will be answered."
---------------------------
She said that in the Andrea Mitchell interview, presumably in reference to her October appearance before Trey Gowdy. I'm itchy-curious about how that will go. Might not go at all: http://www.politico.com/story/.....nel-120620
That woman has devoted her life to making America a better place, but you nitpicking haters just can't bear to see a woman succeed.
Oh, how you sicken me.
That woman has devoted her life to making America a better place public office a front for organized crime and getting away with it in grand fashion.
Just imagine how the SEC would respond if Jamie Dimon said, "It's just too much of a bother to keep track of every little conversation I ever had. I'll be sure to give you a condensed version of the really important stuff."
The SEC didn't seem to care at all when MF Global collapsed and all the money magically went *poof*........I still wonder why they gave that management team a pass.
Oh, Hill is a liar from way back. If someone's just discovering this there's either something wrong with them or they're under the age of 16.
The thing that I find striking is that she's a bad liar, and she does it unnecessarily.
Like the Sir Edmund Hillary bullshit. It's almost like she wants to get caught:
http://www.snopes.com/politics.....illary.asp
Your facts are sexist.
I remember when she went around with a Yankee cap saying she always loved the Yankees.
The lying, the Crazy Eyez, and the way she attacks anyone in her way is something to behold. Herself with the power of the Executive OrderPresidency, and with the media backing her every move, just might finish off whatever is left of the Great American Experiment.
I'm somewhat of an optimist: It'll take 3-4 more presidents to really turn this country into a disaster zone.
That press conference where she said 'wiped it with a cloth' and the follow up by one of her toadies trying to explain it was an epic fucking disaster.
That episode was so LOL--so we're supposed to believe that this woman, whom Robert Gates himself described as extremely tough and intelligent, and has been involved in the government since the dawn of the damn Internet, doesn't have a clue that wiping a server means erasing its contents? Yeah, pull the other one, bitch.
An official approved it, I was the official!
Wow.
Just wow.
This depends on what the word "depends" means
Actually, we're not supposed to believe it. We're supposed to believe that the question is epically useless and stupid and the only sane answer is withering sarcasm. The only people asking it are wearing tin foil hats.
But it worked for Bill!
"On Thursday, Edward Snowden appeared on Al-Jazeera and said that Clinton "intentionally endangered U.S. international security by being so careless with her email" and that if any other worker at the State Department had did what she had done "they would very likely face prosecution for it.""
Holy shit does this guy have balls or what? No way he lives through a Hillary Admin.
He also criticized Russia for human rights violations. If he keeps it up he might draw the ire of Putin.
I was thinkin' that he's probably just payin' the rent.
I wouldn't expect Putin to let him live there for free.
Look. At the time the emails were sent, the information was not classified. That means she was telling the truth. So she isn't a liar. This is all a right wing conspiracy created by Republicans. And so what if some of the emails were classified later? She didn't know. Is she supposed to do all her email on a government server just in case it might be potentially classified? Come on. Besides, as others pointed out, the Republicans did it first. Prove that they didn't. La la la la la you can't la la la I can't hear you la la la you can't ha ha ha. Seeing that you didn't prove that they didn't, that means that you have no right to criticize. No right at all. Anyone who does criticize is just a Republican shill. This means libertarians are nothing but Republican shills. But all reality-based people already know this.
*folds arms with a smug smirk*
Is she supposed to do all her email on a government server
Her work email? Why, yes she is. It's a requirement for being a State Department employee.
The Republicans did it first!
Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it! Republicans did it!
Well, actually, no they didn't. This has been debunked already in several online articles. Ask anyone saying that to provide a link or something. They can't because in fact, no one, as Secretary of State has ever done this before.
Yeah right. Anyone who claims to have "debunked" that is just a Republican shill, paid by the Koch brothers. Prove that they're not. You can't. Ha ha! I win!
The left are psychopath level liars. I was on WaPo quite a bit when the details about all of this first started really seeing daylight. I know a few people who post over there who have actually worked for the State Department and other high security level jobs for the fedgov in IT positions. They clearly explained the situation and posted links of the rules from official fedgov sites. Every lie that the left told was picked apart in detail, and in turn none of them could produce any evidence of the shit they just pulled out of their ass. So then, they would proceed to make up new lies, which were in turn thoroughly picked apart and debunked.
The server itself is a federal crime. Almost anyone else would already be in prison awaiting trial for various high level federal crimes.
sarcasmic is MHP?
It all comes together.
reality-based people
Nice band name.
"This means libertarians are nothing but Republican shills. But all reality-based people already know this."
I have been accosted quite a few times recently by progs who are convinced Libertarians are the most conservative of all socons, and will hear no explanation otherwise. It seems at least around here, that the Libertarians have been coopted by the R's in the perception of the public.
I get as much shit for being Libertarian as I do for being atheist, for FSM's sake!
*May you be touched by his noodly appendage*
Well I sure has hell hope "Matt Welch Explains" isn't the replacement for "Nanny Of The Month" because so far the series sucks. This week Matt explains that Hillary is a liar. Next week, he'll explain that water is wet. Don't miss the Christmas edition where he explains that fire is hot.
Whinge whinge moan moan boo hooo
Would you prefer a steaming serving of Sheldon & Shikha? its sunday. Be glad its not a repost of some random video from 3 years ago.
Or Richman.
*cringes*
So, where is the cankle licker? Why isn't he out here squealing 'Fake Scandal'?
The other elephant in this parlor is the hand-waving BS about message content that was or wasn't marked as confidential. Just about anything of consequence the sitting Secretary of State writes in a message to other high-level State Department officials would be classified secret or higher simply because it came from the SoS herself.
The fact that it wasn't marked at the time means she was telling the truth. Anyone who says otherwise is a Republican shill on the Koch payroll.
Yep. She is an original classification authority, or whatever the term is now.
So's that outrank the governing legal authority ?
Rule of man means that people are the legal authority, not the law.
Your honor, this bag of coke was not marked "Illegal", and this young woman was not marked "15" when I purchased them.
Stealing this
I saw you stole it!
It wasn't marked "property of"
I had a joke like that about how Hillary was not fit to be dogcatcher. Hillary the Dogcatcher cruises by a four-footed hound that's foaming at the mouth and growling at people, and she . . . well, you already did it better with a 15-year-old and coke.
Look people. You're supposed to judge the person, not their words or deeds.
Hillary is a woman. She's a Democrat. She's a Clinton.
Those who criticize her are men. They're Republicans. They're on the Koch payroll.
That's all the facts you need to know.
OT: I wonder if the Attorney General's office knows about this?
ESPN's cartoon analogizing what my Northwestern Wildcats football team did to the Stanford Tree yesterday has a theme that might seem familiar around here.
In which American academics make the simplest observation into gobbledygook.
In fact, it is before the age of 7 years ? ages traditionally known as "pre-academic" ? when children desperately need to have a multitude of whole-body sensory experiences on a daily basis in order to develop strong bodies and minds. This is best done outside where the senses are fully ignited and young bodies are challenged by the uneven and unpredictable, ever-changing terrain.
Preschool years are not only optimal for children to learn through play, but also a critical developmental period. If children are not given enough natural movement and play experiences, they start their academic careers with a disadvantage. They are more likely to be clumsy, have difficulty paying attention, trouble controlling their emotions, utilize poor problem-solving methods, and demonstrate difficulties with social interactions. We are consistently seeing sensory, motor, and cognitive issues pop up more and more in later childhood, partly because of inadequate opportunities to move and play at an early age.
Let's destroy humanity's future, one education major at a time.
What? Children are still allowed to play outside? Does the government know about this?
Children are still allowed to play outside?
They can, but only under constant parental supervision. You see, there are creep kid-touchers everywhere. They travel in white vans (not black or green or blue, but white. always white). As soon as a parent turns their back *poof* the van appears out of no where and someone on the sex-registry grabs the kid. It happens every day. At least that's what my wife says.
Bullshit. My van is gray.
Child flatulence causes global warming
Perhaps you have a modest proposal to deal with the issue?
This is something that was inherently understood before about 30 years ago, but the anxiety of parents wanting their snowflake to get into a "good college" led to increasingly schoolwork-oriented early education curriculums. I remember the son of one of my ex-girlfriends getting homework nearly ever night in fucking kindergarten; I don't think I did one homework assignment until I reached 3rd grade, in the mid-80s.
I'm going to start a Huck Finn academy for children aged three and up, and we'll tramp around in the mountains, catching fish and small mammals, and throwing dirt clods at each other. No reading until age six. All learning will be in the form of "Okay, that's not a bad idea; how will you make it work?" seminars.
You don't know about The Late P Brooks Academy without you have read a blog by the name of The Adventures of HyR and Reason Mag; but that ain't no matter. That blog was made by Mr. Matt Welch, and he told the truth, mainly. There was things which he stretched, but mainly he told the truth.
Beginning at age ten, guns and SuperMoto. In less than a generation, our alumni will rule the world.
At 10, I had guns and dirt bikes.
I run into folks wi 10 year olds that they not want to let play with toy guns, on account of its violent character and I got to think of when I ten and we played with real guns. What the fuck happened? Somebody slipt some pussifex in the water or something.
And jobs.
We were doing some kind of work for pay by then and most folks had regular jobs of some sort by the time hey was thirteen or fourteen. I remember getting trouble from my siblings on account of that I declined getting a regular job as someone's employee in favour of concentrating on starting my own business. Then a few years later, they're all calling me "Moneybags". I started out trading hides, moved on to clearing junk iron and selling it, and ended up with a carpet cleaning and janitorial business and people working for me.
It's kind of gutwrenching to realise it would all have been nigh impossible was I born a bit later.
And allowances? I never knew any youngsters, growing up, that got allowances. I saw it on TV. "Leave It to Beaver", I think, they had allowances on that. I thought it was a made up television thing till I years later met a few people who'd actually got allowances as children. While they were being given a purse every week to teach them the value of things, I was being coached by my father on how to negotiate for maximal profit in transactions.
The Rules of Acquisition?
*15 years later...*
Wow - that is a tone deaf video.
1. Its just going to have the SJW's up in arms about 'yellow peril' - which its basically playing up fears of.
2. *China*? China's gonna be around to talk smack about the 'fall of great nations'? They're gonna talk smack about 'abandoning their founding principles'? China's a nation that's digging itself into a hole as fast as its government can shovel. Its *only* because of them finally taking advantage of the efficiency tech the west has created that's allowed them to hold their own. And they still insist on building a *whole country* of 'bridges to nowhere'.
I loved how a nation which is only 66 years old just celebrated a victory they supposedly won 70 years ago. I guess that should be called Chinese math?
They don't care. http://www.breitbart.com/big-g.....defenders/
Cronyism is the biggest problem in our country. Followed closely by the WOD.
I read that piece... and it seems like they've cherry picked a few gay-democrat power players, who naturally don't give a shit.
A handful of crony scumbags does not an electorate-make, in my opinion.
As i noted above = what bothers more more are the regular, everyday people who 'don't care' because they're willing to sacrifice any concern for 'rule of law' as long as their TEAM TOP PERSON is in charge.
Rule of law is for pussies. Rule of man is where it's at. You're judged by who you know, not what you do. So if you know the right people, or support the right people, then you'll get special treatment. Besides that, rule of law kind of precludes the total free-shit state, doesn't it? I mean, if the law says stealing is bad, then isn't it bad to have the government steal on your behalf? Rule of man means that if you fit into some category then the same rules don't apply. Lady Justice wears no blindfold. Who matters more than what. And some people naturally prefer it that way, because they feel that they will get a better "deal."
I think German has a single word that describes this political concept: fuhrerprinzip.
Why is she a liar? I assume it's genetic.
I think she is a devoted follower of Saul Alinsky. Alinsky dedicated his magnum opus, Rules for Radicals, to Lucifer, who is the father of lies. He also explicitly argued that the ends justify the means.
I think she does have some issues.
She's the Mayor of Opacity.
OT
I'm filling out a job app online and in the part where it asks you for race/gender/etc there's an "LGBT" option with a drop down menu asking you to pick one. I've never seen that before, and I've done a lot of job apps over the years. Why would they ask this? I feel microaggressed.
The fact that you even question it shows just how intolerant you are! How dare you!
"in the part where it asks you for race/gender/etc there's an "LGBT" option"
Which I presume falls under "Etc".
I'm not sure why one's sexual preferences should be part of a job application. i'd assume the law should protect people from *having* to answer that question.
If the job were with a financial services or engineering firm, i'd select "Super-Gay as fuck" whether i was or not, because i'd assume the HR department would be desperate to diversify themselves ASAP so as to meet their 'corporate social responsibility' targets.
I've said before - it won't be long before we have a case where people misrepresent themselves as 'minority-sexual' simply because of the social-benefits they might potentially accrue. In the meantime we've already got teenage kids declaring themselves Demi-Sexual for Free PR because why not? "Sexually Fluid"! if we can bottle that, it'll be a goldmine...
"I've said before - it won't be long before we have a case where people misrepresent themselves as 'minority-sexual' simply because of the social-benefits they might potentially accrue."
We already have white people pretending to be black, so why not. Really, as long as the company can show the feds that enough of the right boxes are checked, that's all that matters. Unless the feds start sending in sexual orientation auditors to ensure goodthink compliance. ........................... OMG, this is definitely the future. Sorry I thought of this.
HR Rep: Mr. Johnson, I need you to prove to me that you like it up the ass, or you're going to be fired.
It's not hard ( as it were) to pretend to be gay.
I offer free tips for the more comely of you.
The oral exam for that declaration might really suck if you don't like that kind of thing.
Why would they ask this?
Serous answer? There's probably some government policy out there that somehow rewards them (a tax break or preferential treatment when bidding on government contracts or something) for having a "diverse" workplace.
What kind of job is it? Gov?
It's for a large law firm (non lawyer position)
The "etc" was for veterans and disability statuses. ? stati? status?
I recently found out an interesting (to me) tidbit about the hop-scotch, off-and-on "Veteran's Status" rules (you can't just have been in uniform but have to have been during specific time periods). A number of Marines who were held hostage after the embassy in Teheran was over-run in 1979 were not eligible for Veteran's preference until farily recently when an act of congress was passed to cover them all. Lots of good that probably did them being 50-ish and near the end of any career that said preference might have helped them with.
Was there a 'none of the above'?
It let me proceed without answering. I guess since that whole section is technically voluntary.
Oh well, I guess you didn't want that job anyway.
You should have checked it. If they call you on it later tell them you thought it stood for Loves Getting Butt Touched.
there's an "LGBT" option with a drop down menu asking you to pick one.
I trust one of the choices is "NOYFB".
Yeah, but those applications are auto-flagged for immediate deletion with being read.
What did you answer?
"Come and knock on our door... (Come and knock on our door)
We've been waiting for you.... (We've been waiting for you)
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his,
Three's company too."
I am disappointed to have just learned that there are no lyrics to the theme from Riptide
You know what else has no lyrics?
i have been cheated of pictures of Jan Michael Vincent's pouty lips and strangely asian-eyes.
Also, is there any name more evocative of...something..... than "Stringfellow Hawke"?
I think you hit on the only reason to watch that show. At least for little Rhywun.

I beat you to it below
Ha you said "beat" to a cagney and lacey reference.
The Airwolf theme is amazing. I was hoping you were going to post Tenspeed and Brownshoe.
It seems that almost all the 1970s-1980s detective-with-dash-of-comedy shows came from the mind of one man (more or less)
Two Mr. Cannell was not involved with, which also do not involve lyrics:
The Scarecrow & Mrs. King
Simon & Simon, starring Gerald McRaney's mustache.
When men were men, and had blow-dried hair parted in the middle....
This is one from a man who far too bad-ass to blow-dry his hair.
The lead actress probably still looks tremendous.
As of 2013, Stepfanie Kramer is still looks great.

But there were lyrics for the theme to Hardcastle and McCormick.
There is absolutely nothing gay about... oh hell...
It truly was a golden age of TV soundtracks though.

This was sorely lacking in Mustaches and Speedboats.
True. There was face stubble and a ukelele, though.
Everything about that video fills me with the blinding rage of the ?lfh??nar.

Thought before I clicked your link that you meant this version of Riptide:

Decent 80s album. Palmer died too young.
Robert Palmer did 2 of his first 3 albums with members of the Meters and Little Feat
he was a pimp ass motherfucker. that medley was super popular w. me in highschool... which was like 12 years after he made it i think.
I saw Palmer in concert a few years before he died. It was a Power Station reunion tour and Palmer ruled the stage.
The man could sing.
Plus he didn't skirt what he thought was the truth. I remember when Arsenio asked him what he thought of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince right after they performed. His response... "That's not singing."

Will Hillary protect us from the homosexuals!?
I don't feel like investing 0:00:30. Does the video really explain why she's a liar?
Why she lies, I mean?
Actually, Bill explained it a while ago: Because she *can*.
I was sitting at the bar of a restaurant earlier this week having a beer while waiting for take-out and overheard two Boomer women going on about how those mean old Republicans won't leave Hillary alone and "let the poor woman have her e-mail".
And, sigh, poor Ed Snowden. If only he'd spilled the beans immediately instead of waiting in vain for some of that hope and change from Obama... the full interview is here if anyone else also wants to check it out.
"...those mean old Republicans won't leave Hillary alone and "let the poor woman have her e-mail"."
The Chron ran a Toles edi-cartoon this morning:
Panel 1) A reporter points out to Shril that the coverup is worse than the crime.
Panel 2) She screams "THERE WAS NO CRIME!"
Panel 3) is irrelevant...
Destroying evidence and mishandling classified comm aren't crimes, according to Toles.
Nevermind that the cover-up is worse than the crime because the cover-up is criminal.
The interview is very much worthwhile.
OT: Refugees protest against 'monotonous' Italian food
Yes, clearly no Nationalist newspaper would ever spread stories of the foreigners insulting their native cuisine. Its the first time any one has ever spread a story like that as well. No one would interpret images of a few people tossing free packages aside into a populist narrative of spoiled migrants spitting on their charity.
Well, it's not just the Italians getting this sort of response. The Hungarian police distributed food and water and had it thrown back at them.
That was exactly what i was referring to when i said, " No one would interpret images of a few people tossing free packages aside into a populist narrative of spoiled migrants spitting on their charity."
i'm not some big fan of syrian migrants (my complaint is, "what was so unattractive about Croatia?") I just think there's definitely some desperate reading-into these few things to try and make claims that are likely ginned up by nationalist euro mags that would make Trump blush with their attitudes re: dirty moozies
There obviously was some hx behind that incident, would help to know it.
hmm...
Did you watch the video?
that "few people" look like organized thugs and they appear to be preventing everyone on that train from getting food and water.
I don't know what nationalist papers in Europe are saying but that video and others do not seem to be telling the same story that US and British papers and news outlets are saying.
Namely that this mass migration is not some spontaneous fleeing from war torn Syria but looks more and more like an organized campaign with Progressive MSM US and British news outlets spinning a story about it.
OMG ANTI-GAMERGATE AGAIN???
So why don't the police take care of the thugs?
"So why don't the police take care of the thugs?"
Just watch the video.
Describe it for yourself if you don't like how I did.
I already had watched it when I asked that Q. Looks like the police just let them disrupt the operation if that's what was going on.
Maybe Liberland should offer to give green cards to refugees.
"what was so unattractive about Croatia?"
Fuck, Man. It's full of hrvatski! What else you need?
Sorry, but what makes you think the source is a "nationalist magazine"? And what makes you think all such stories are false? The article mentions two other similar incidents recently, in Rome and Sicily. Are you saying that all three reports are false?
I didn't say anything was false, i was just saying that i treat all this kind of "news" as pandering to an audience that will eagerly eat up whatever populist horseshit that fits their preconceptions.
Forgive my skepticism - did you note last night when i pointed out that your story about the "drowned kids dad" was full of shit? they were arguing he couldn't possibly be from a 'war zone' ...despite Damascus being shelled by the syrian army at the time he was there (while the story you cited was only interested in some ISIS overlap... as though ISIS was the sum-total of the Syrian civil war)
I'm pointing out that regardless of some possible 'isolated cases'...that the motive for popularizing these stories is as blatant as the "hands up don't shoot" people turning every dead black kid into some kind of Sainted Victim.
Yes, I did see that. I get your point, but I think you are a bit too eager to dismiss things on the basis of "those people always say that sort of thing." Even people with motives can be correct.
As for the drowned kid's dad, I think it's clear that he (like many refugees) embellished his story for sympathy. The debunking went a bit too far, but I think it's valid to a degree: it's one thing to say: "I'm a refugee from a war zone," and another to say: "I've had a free place to live in Turkey for three years, and now I want something better." He gets less sympathy for the latter, more accurate statement.
When even basic facts are exaggerated and distorted by critics, you don't know WHAT to believe. You're assuming, "well, they fucked up his backstory, sure"... BUT....well the other criticisms must be true!
why? And why is it necessary to care to 'debunk' one guy at all? "So what?" you say, "Like many refugees"...
....really? There are millions of refugees in Jordan and many of the "syrians" are people who fled Iraq 10 years ago....
...the fact that there's a human tidal wave wanting to get into Europe is not some new thing.... and trying to tar people with these cherry picked bullshit details is silly and says far more about you and the media than refugees. You're just trying to turn that "dead baby" story into something neutralized in your mind, because someone somewhere lied about something... its so silly someone should be pointing it out to you. If there's a legit story here that has some actual relevance... its' why not a single ME country has really done fuck-all about accepting refugees *except* Jordan...which itself was already over-run by palestinian refugees from 20-30 years ago.
"You're just trying to turn that "dead baby" story into something neutralized in your mind"
There are lots of lies being told from Western media.
The organized thugs on the train tracks, that photo of woman and her child on the train tracks whom the BBC said the cops shoved her but turned out it was some weird staged event, and now these glossy photos of a dead kid on the beach complete with an interview with the kids uncle on NPR with the host crying on air.
Yeah I don't know what MSM is trying to sell but I think it is you who can't smell the bullshit.
"I didn't say anything was false, i was just saying that i treat all this kind of "news" as pandering to an audience that will eagerly eat up whatever populist horseshit that fits their preconceptions.'"
And something else smells here:
The HU 'film' (what's it called now?) has the muzzies tossing bottled water; sorry, whatever that is, it is not a statement about the cuisine of the host country. Unless you're some spoiled foodie, water is water.
There is more to the story than we're getting from that 'film'.
some people have pointed out that packages being distributed by christian aid workers have "crosses" blatantly printed on the packages.
While i think its pretty stupid to throw anything free away... for all anyone knows, they were trying to purposely get people to throw their 'donations' back in their face.
given how heated the issue is, you basically can't accept anything from either side at face value, other than some basic statistics. Especially whenever these things are treated in the "Crisis" style by news media. Again = the refugee issue has been brewing for a decade. Yet you see almost nothing from the media explaining that ~4-6million people have been dislocated over the last decade. And US/Gulf Arabs pumping guns and money into the region hasn't exactly been the brightest idea.
"Again = the refugee issue has been brewing for a decade."
Lots of bad actors at play in this war and sending hordes of refugees is a viable tactic.
Lets see we have the Russians in Syria now, we have ISIS and we have Turkey all of whom have been playing dirty pool (the US has as well. hell maybe we organized the mass refugee migration)
I don't know if it is "enemy" action but this looks a hell of lot like organized political action not some spontaneous thing that just sort of happened.
ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED DUDE.
yes, the millions of people are all being guided by political masterminds. Sophistimacated thinkin. No one noticed until now.
"some people have pointed out that packages being distributed by christian aid workers have "crosses" blatantly printed on the packages.
While i think its pretty stupid to throw anything free away... for all anyone knows, they were trying to purposely get people to throw their 'donations' back in their face."
Recommended with reservations:
"The Crusades: The Authoritative History of the War for the Holy Land"
So far (pg 250) no one has elected to die rather than accept succor from the 'wrong' bleef.
In fact, the 'powers-that-were' maintained trade with the enemy during battle; food is handy!
There is a video. They are pre-packaged mini-paletts of water wrapped in plastic. There are no crosses. Gilmore is full of shit.

"There is a video. They are pre-packaged mini-paletts of water wrapped in plastic. There are no crosses. Gilmore is full of shit."
OK, so why are those folks tossing perfectly good water?
According to Gilmore a dozen or two men acting in coordination to deny themselves and fellow passengers food and water has no meaning.
in the context of 100s of 1000s, no, not really
And what context in 100s of 1000s does glossy pictures of a dead kid on the beach signify?
Why was it plastered all over every news outlet from here to England?
Corning|9.7.15 @ 12:26AM|#
"According to Gilmore a dozen or two men acting in coordination to deny themselves and fellow passengers food and water has no meaning."
Gilmore gets no pass from me; he's an apologist/bleever for xianism, but your post wasn't really an answer.
Now, why would those folks be doing that and what sort of evidence do you have to support your claim?
Right now, we see some angry people tossing packaged water. I'm having a real hard time constructing a global message from this.
"I'm having a real hard time constructing a global message from this."
Same here. Only pointing out it does not gel with everything I keep hearing from MSM on the subject.
It does not look like a spontaneous diaspora of war refugees to me which is MSM's narrative.
"It does not look like a spontaneous diaspora of war refugees to me which is MSM's narrative."
OK, so now you're claiming there *is* some global intent?
Sorry; that fence isn't wide enough to let you claim to be on one side while you're sitting squarely in the middle.
What is your claim?
"What is your claim?"
That the MSM is lying. The facts do not support their narrative in regards to refugees coming from Turkey and Syria into Europe.
"The facts do not support their narrative in regards to refugees coming from Turkey and Syria into Europe.'
Which facts?
i think even that example there is insufficient, since there's probably at least a million+ Iraqis that fled to Syria.. and another 2 million Iraqis into jordan & turkey who probably have been on the move for the last 8 years as well
"Which facts?"
Organized healthy military aged men from a war torn lands hiding their elderly, children and women and acting together to prevent the distribution of food and water to said elderly, children and women.
sure. that one video speaks volumes for 100s of 1000s of people
can you actually identify who those people handing the stuff out are?
or what anyone's saying?
"Gilmore gets no pass from me; he's an apologist/bleever for xianism'
I'm an athiest, and you're just a dick who accuses people of this whenever you get your crotchety materialist stubborn anti-intellectual boner going.
Can we please call a truce on your "bleever" nonsense?
I'll stop mocking you for, and you can stop calling me that *because I mock you about it*
"I'm an athiest, and you're just a dick who accuses people of this whenever you get your crotchety materialist stubborn anti-intellectual boner going."
You're a fucking ignoramus who proposes some water-walking mystic exists since there was gossip about it a hundred years later.
Now, prove me wrong; evidence, please.
STFU.
forgive me for trying. you never understood my original point. which required no water walking or mystics.
by your standard half of history is so much hearsay.
*GILMORE*|9.7.15 @ 12:50AM|#
"forgive me for trying. you never understood my original point. which required no water walking or mystics."
OK, let's see your 'original point'.
"by your standard half of history is so much hearsay."
Yeah, since half of history has to do with those who rose from the dead, right?
"I'll stop mocking you for, and you can stop calling me that *because I mock you about it*"
Oh, and missed this!
You'll stop mocking me for laughing are your pathetic attempts at claiming 'evidence'?
Imagine my joy at ignoring facts so Gilmore will be nice to me.
Ass? Put it there.
reading anything significant into a slice of a video is what's full of shit
They're lucky they aren't forcibly converted to Xtianity or that it be at least a requirement for getting to stay in a refugee camp instead of being immediately shipped East.
Is complaining about the food in Italy like complaining about the beer in Canada?
Dunno, but I was happy to leave Italy and get back to SF for some decent Italian...
Ketchup =/= pasta sauce. And there are more than two salad dressings.
You should have arranged a layover in Philly and stopped by the italian market.
Really? All the food I had in Italy was good to excellent, and I wasn't eating at fancy places. Though I grant it was decades ago.
PapayaSF|9.6.15 @ 10:32PM|#
"Really? All the food I had in Italy was good to excellent, and I wasn't eating at fancy places."
We tried road-side diners, high-end snooty-waiters, hotel restaurants, and most everything else.
You can't get good bolognese in Bologna, AFAIK.
What are their 2 salad dressings? Can I at least guess 1 is Italian? So let's see, the other is either red or cheese flavored; I'll guess red.
Begins with Julius...
Interesting, considered that was named for an American chef in whose restaurant it was concocted. Or do you mean Orange Julius?
I was amazed at the ubiquity also, and most of it wasn't very good. 'Chovies? What 'chovies? And most were REAL heavy on the lemon.
Oh-oh...that suggests the fish wasn't so fresh.
Heh, I knew what clip that was going to be.
Unibroue is awesome though.
Hard to believe Michael Moore directed that.
If you're okay with the fact that there's going to be satire coming in from the left, it's not a bad movie. The "mandatory bilingual insults" gag, at least, was inspired.
I really like the movie, I guess that was my point. I think it is clever.
Very much so.
In honor of Hillary and allll the others, "The Mayor of Simpleton", with one of the great bass lines played on a lovely Rickenbacker that looks just like mine! Enjoy

Stevie Ray kickin arse
While we're comparing apples and oranges, one might as well say Beethoven's 7th Symphony is much better musically.
UR ALL LAME STOCKHAUSEN PLAYED BACKWARDS FTW
*searches for "Like" button*
I like my Stockhausen played in the direction the master intended it.
For all you know it IS backward.
The vinyl only goes one way on MY turntable, Mr. DJ.
I still appreciate the master's take on 9/11.
"the master's take on 9/11."
Wasn't it a horribly douchey comment?
"everybody was saying crazy things then. ?Witness the venerable German composer, Karlheinz Stockhausen, whose shocking remarks at a press conference at a music festival in Hamburg six days after the attacks made headlines. The events of 9/11, he'd enthused, were "the greatest work of art imaginable for the whole cosmos." Things had gone from bad to worse to incendiary when, like Batman's Joker, he warmed to his theme: "Minds achieving something in an act that we couldn't even dream of in music, people rehearsing like mad for ten years, preparing fanatically for a concert, and then dying; just imagine what happened there. You have people who are that focused on a performance and then 5,000 people are dispatched to the afterlife, in a single moment. I couldn't do that. By comparison, we composers are nothing.""
Very arty, bro. Works better on paper, sadly. Everyone's a critic.
It would have been the usual ,OMG!! I flew on American Airlines once! Or, OMG! we ate at Windows on the World in 1989!. The usual "I have to say something and its going to be all about me" response. Only half the avant garde didn't call for those people to be forcibly institutionalized. I actually think Stockhausen had a valid original, meaningful take in there at first. The reaction is what made it gold. His comments didn't disturb so much because of what was off the mark so much as what was on.
No, i totally see where you're coming from.
And on a certain level, I agree.
its just that its hilariously German and inhuman to call the murder of 5,000 people "sublime"
*listens for awhile - has nothing to say*
For people who like that sort of thing... Aphex Twin's Soundcloud Dump seems to be like the second bukakke-coming of Christ...
I was never super-crazy about that scene, but i appreciate some people distilling it into listenable form for dilettantes
There's like 6 hours of his mixes. that's just one. they're nice to work to.
brief explanation =
Aphex Twin - irish(?) electronic music innovator who was sort of the basis for the entire Warp-record label/catalogue... all of 'avante garde electronic' of the 1990s....who drops records like once every 5 years... suddenly announced he was putting 1000+ unreleased tracks on soundcloud.
People are still sifting through it all. A lot of it is shit. But its shit of a very-good-pedigree. Basically, if you liked his 90s stuff...well this is all the stuff that never made the cut.
Try listening to it in the other direction, that may have been the way it was recorded, although not the way it was "released".
you're taking my joke too seriously. try the aphex twin.
He uses nice tools anyways.
Nice. Tools
Sadly you can download the equivalent for free
Although i always preferred Squarepusher.
I preferred guys with samplers to synths.
I like the analog, don't much like digital except for the end recording where it is so much easier to reproduce and carry around.
Sure.
but you can't "analogue" what you can do with samplers. (*mellotron?)
tho you can pump whatever they do through things like Sherman Filterbanks and then heat it up on tape when you track it (ie. push it into the tape distortion range).
the distinction between analog and digital is mostly fictitious when the process always uses lots of both to get the results.
Digital samplers are a nice toy for your phone 😉
You're right though that pumping a digital signal back through an analog medium like tape can smooth out the staccato "holes"
"Digital samplers are a nice toy for your phone ;)'
As noted = the 'analog sampler' was a pretty (expensive) dumb toy.
Whereas most of the entirety of 90s music was created with sampling.
yeah, if you're a nerd for sonic quality that exceeds the vast majority of playback systems in the first place.... there's no arguing about it. I still only own records 🙂
but the shit ON those records was mostly made with cheapo 8-16bit gear?! (the EMU Sp12 was probably responsible for everything up until the mid 1990s))
There's definitely some great 'sonic' creations that were made with cheapo gunk. I mean, that's pretty much Aphex's entire steez
Why all the mellotron and Chamberlin-hate?
I've almost bought 3 different Wurlitzer Sidemans off ebay but then I look around at all the crazy shit I own, consider I don't have the skills and time to ensure it works properly, and wonder why the fuck I really want to own one so bad and then regret not jumping on the opportunity. Not like I'd pass on a pre-WWII Theremin or even a nightmare to keep working, much less play, like an ondes Martenot though.
Ahh. So i'm talking to a proper oldschool hardware dork. You're the type that thinks that everything newer than a pre WWII sine-wave generator is hopelessly corrupted.
Seriously though, do you think there's really a significant material, sonic benefit between some ancient drum machine, and a PAIA simulacra you can solder together yourself?
(that's an analogue drum machine/filter set you could buy from a kit from Radio Shack in the 1980s-1990s)
I have some buddies with ARPs and some vintage mini moogs and theramins and the whole ball of wax....
but none of them *use them* outside of sampling the output they want, then doing all the programming and manipulation within protools or whatever.
i also have a storage room full of obsolete equipment.
If i had to keep a very few useful things, they'd be a monosynth, a filterbank, a tape machine (PLUS all my analog guitar effects pedals) and a computer.
Hillary's email server is BIll's blue dress - a red cape for the right wing rabid partisans. And like the blue dress, they are over playing their hand. Rather than make this a competence issue, they have gone full bore 'law breaker!'.
Except, so far, no laws have been broken. It was not illegal for her to have the server. To date, the "classifed" mails have been classified in arrears. Retroactive classification is even lamer than our beyond excessive exisiting classification regime. Further, it is the responsibility of the sending party to handle documents in the proper manner given their level of classification - not the person on the other end. If someone sends her a "top secret" document to her personal email address that is their bad, though she (or her staff) does have an obligation to destroy the document and report to the appropriate agency.
So the short of it is - unless (or until) someone finds a legitimate classified document, stamped secret or above, that was sent by Hillary - this is all about running a sloppy ship and not anticipating the problems that come with using an outside email address for work. And the continued howling by elephants (and others like Welch) has now pushed this issue to the precipice of "we feel sorry for Hillary. Yes she was stupid but doesn't deserve this.". But knowing when to stop was never a strength of rabid partisans.
I think the water in your stillsuit has gone sour.
Alrighty then.
Your talking points are out of date.
Let's say dear Hillary is really innocence of everything while in office as Sec. of State. We know of drug running into Mena, AR . We know of a then small fortune (to us poor folk) she made in the commodities market with no experience. We know her aide allegedly committed suicide rather than talk about her dirty laundry. We know friends paid the down payment on her multi million dollar home. How much mud do you need before you won't elect that pig. If you don't think the White House can be bought then elect her. She will sell the bricks as souvenirs to her greatness
But wait. It turned out after months of denials that there was a blue dress. And it did compel Bill to admit that he had "had sex with that woman" and that he had lied about it.
Now don't try to change the subject by saying "So what, two adults had consensual sex?". Don't.
Matt why do you waste your time trying to fix a system that is so broken it can't be fixed. If Hillary does get in it means war against someone to pay back all the donors to her so called charity. It means Goldman Sachs and company will be get to raped the public for possibly another 8 years. If the RNC gets their way Jeb Bush will be elected and it will be the same outcome. Find me one well known chirsmatic spokesman and a good choreographer I will shakeup Washington DC so bad they will be begging to represent the people instead of special interest. I will use nothing but social media. Matt I like and respect what I know of you but I am not sure anyone really cares what is happening to this country.
Show us on the brokerage account application where the Goldman Sachs touched you
Hillary Clinton's supporters don't care that she is a proven liar - many times over. They just want her big government, tax/spend, socialistic, anti-Christian policies and programs. J.R.Stallworth
Hillary Clinton's supporters don't care that she is a notorious liar - many times over. They just want her big government, tax/spend, socialistic, anti-Christian policies and programs.
"Do you really want a liar this brazen in the white house?"
You're asking this question of Democrats... and you seriously don't know what the answer is?
Oh, it was a rhetorical question!
Bravo!
No, I do not want Hildabeast in the WH - even as a dish washer.
I understand that a few days ago the Justice Department announced that Hillary broke no laws regarding her emails. Team Hillary will try to make the most of this announcement. I hope the FBI comes up with some inconvenient evidence.
