      Ladies and gentlemen: Che Guevara.

He is peeling off a little bit more of the mask every day.

  2. Suthenboy   10 years ago

The terribleness of the cartoon aside (why does Obumbles have two tiny boobs high in the center of his chest?) it is a good point. The guy really is a sociopath. He talks about people as if they are objects of clay which he can mold to his liking. Classic sociopath.

The sooner he is gone, the better.

    1. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

And on to the next central planner-in-chief. I'm no anarchist but the idea that you know best the wants and needs of 370,000,000 individuals is beyond arrogance.

That's why Hayek called it the fatal conceit.

      The Socialists Despise Mankind

According to these writers, it is indeed fortunate that Heaven has bestowed upon certain men?governors and legislators?the exact opposite inclinations, not only for their own sake but also for the sake of the rest of the world! While mankind tends toward evil, the legislators yearn for good; while mankind advances toward darkness, the legislators aspire for enlightenment; while mankind is drawn toward vice, the legislators are attracted toward virtue. Since they have decided that this is the true state of affairs, they then demand the use of force in order to substitute their own inclinations for those of the human race.

    4. sarcasmic   10 years ago

Open at random any book on philosophy, politics, or history, and you will probably see how deeply rooted in our country is this idea?the child of classical studies, the mother of socialism. In all of them, you will probably find this idea that mankind is merely inert matter, receiving life, organization, morality, and prosperity from the power of the state. And even worse, it will be stated that mankind tends toward degeneration, and is stopped from this downward course only by the mysterious hand of the legislator. Conventional classical thought everywhere says that behind passive society there is a concealed power called law or legislator (or called by some other terminology that designates some unnamed person or persons of undisputed influence and authority) which moves, controls, benefits, and improves mankind.

      1. WTF   10 years ago

This is what 'Tony' actually believes.

        1. sarcasmic   10 years ago

Lots of people do. It's pretty appealing and feels right, as long as you don't think about it.

          1. WTF   10 years ago

"Feels right" is the key, as 'Tony' has shown again and again that no actual logic or analysis is involved in his various positions.

          2. Bill Dalasio   10 years ago

It's pretty appealing and feels right,

Mostly because that is how things have always worked. From pretty much the earliest tribal societies. the notion was always of the government as "on top" of society, that the government is the boss of society. Really, the notion of the government as an institution created by society to serve a limited end is, what, maybe 300, 400 years old? And within maybe a hundred or two hundred years of that notion coming about, there was a massive effort to replace it with an updated notion of the government as boss. And sadly, that effort has been largely successful. The only difference is that the divine right of kings gets replaced by the divine right of 50%+1.

            1. sarcasmic   10 years ago

The only difference is that the divine right of kings gets replaced by the divine right of 50%+1.

Almost, but not quite. The Divine Right of Kings has been replaced with The Will of the People, which comes from Representation (50% + 1) instead of God.

              1. Bill Dalasio   10 years ago

Your point is taken. But, I think my point still stands. Really, most people's intuition on government really hasn't evolved much beyond the primitive tribe. The government is still a proxy for Daddy and God. People really haven't learned, and I'm afraid won't really get the chance to learn, to think of the government as just an institution created by men to fulfill a defined and specific purpose.

                1. sarcasmic   10 years ago

People really haven't learned, and I'm afraid won't really get the chance to learn, to think of the government as just an institution created by men to fulfill a defined and specific purpose.

A healthy skepticism of government was once a point of pride for Americans. Alas that has been unlearned by most people. One person who will learn to understand this is my kid though. It's the best I can do.

                  1. DesigNate   10 years ago

It's not just unlearned. It's actively suppressed and ridiculed.

Anderson Cooper looks surprised that Bill Cosby's happy ending is coming so soon.

  4. Lady Bertrum   10 years ago

One of the first things O and the Dem congress did when elected was to defund the Opportunity Scholarships in DC which benefits poor kids. Upon taking over the house, the Reps refunded it immediately.

Yeah, O loves the poor. What a tremendous douche bag.

    1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

O loves the poor so much he wants to make more of them, Lady B.

    2. Florida Man   10 years ago

Eh, scholarships should be private anyways.

      1. Lady Bertrum   10 years ago

The purpose of the Opportunity Scholarship was to undermine pubic education by offering the poor an alternative. It's long ball.

        1. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

That particular type of education should be undermined. It's not an appropriate topic for children. Or maybe it is, what do I know.

  5. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

    This image triggers me.

You're lucky I'm at work where the closest weapons at hand are a fork and a pair of scissors.

    1. Notorious G.K.C.   10 years ago

I think the TSA would agree with me that these are *very* dangerous weapons.

      1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

So why did British Airways hand everyone a metal fork once we were in flight?

        1. Florida Man   10 years ago

To give you the option of killing yourself instead of eating British airline food?

          1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

The food was actually pretty good. I don't know why so many people complain about it.

            1. Florida Man   10 years ago

I've never been, I'm just fueling stereotypes like a drunken Irishman.

    2. Marshall Gill   10 years ago

Scissors? Sure but are they assault scissors?

      1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Well, they do have black handles.

      2. Florida Man   10 years ago

Assault scissors? Wouldn't that be like, a paper shredder? Or would they just need the thing that goes up?

        1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Oh, no, a paper shredder is a fully automatic scissor, and classed as a 'destructive device'.

          1. Florida Man   10 years ago

            *scratches head japanamation style*
            I'm so confused.

            1. Almanian!   10 years ago

            2. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Well, shredders go from man-portable to gargantu-shredders like these guys

              1. Almanian!   10 years ago

Why would the President have a tie on his dick? Or was Chris Mathews asking why his dick wasn't tied? I don't get it.

When did Scatman Cruthers have flesh shoes sewn to each side of his neck? Why did Bok not draw a line between the two drawings of people, since they are clearly two, separate panels dealing with different subjects?

Awful. Therefore, perfect. Happy fucking Friday, Reasonoids. I'm off to pick up a perfectly-good Chevy Suburban for $4700 out the door, and I hope you all visit Michigan soon and run out in front of me and are crushed just enough to leave you mortally wounded, but struggling in agony to hang on to life for many hours before you pass.

  14. timbo   10 years ago

So yet another testament to BO's incredible stupidity; private school has become the only option in this country if someone might succeed. public schools are brainwashing factories and have been for 50-80 years.
Quiz: In all schools public and private, who were we taught to be the greatest president and human being off all time? Who is Obama's hero? Who was the biggest communist and communist sympathizer to ever hold office?

      Hitler?

Lincoln. I read a book by Harry Turtledove on what would happen if he lived and the Civil War was lost by the North...very interesting. Teddy Roosevelt was a bit of a socialist too...

My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My neighbour's sister has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out.
