Saturday Night: Standing Up to a Radical Islamist Who Would Silence Criticism in the Media If He Could, Plus Anti-ISIS Satire

This video is from back in 2013 but is relevant given last week's bloodshed in France and the subsequent debate in the West about free speech, respecting "religious feelings," especially of Muslims, and radical Islam.
Watch:
Did the host offend the cleric? Does it matter?
Bonus: Here's a skit, also via MEMRI, that's probably better than anything you'll see on Saturday Night Live tonight…

If you use your religion or other bits of your culture as an excuse to be offended over trivial, i.e. the peaceful actions of others, things you don't deserve to be treated as an adult. And maybe not as a human with a full set of rights.
Like this.
And this.
Well unless of course there are more of those who agree with you than those who don't, then it's perfectly fine, according to Tony.
Democracy FTW!
Yep. The presumption that an offended majority somehow constitutes the justification for a legal or thug action is based on the presumption that being offended matters.
It doesn't, no matter how many are offended or how offended they are.
You think Christ is some good guy? Fuck you! You think Mohammad is some good guy? Fuck you! You think Mother Earth is something that needs saving? Fuck you! You think we need laws to save puppies? Fuck you, Bo.
I could go on, but there it is. Go ahead and offend me; you have every right to do so.
Is there an offended majority? Has anyone established that? And no, the raw, total numbers of muslims (practicing) in the world doesn't count.
I want to see the number of offended muslims vs non-offended muslims.
Right on Sevo,
Always Be Closing.
It didn't used to be like this. This notion that it's a horrific act to offend someone is relatively new. It started in the mid-90s, about the time they coined the phrase "politically correct". I remember people telling me, for the first time, that I needed to give deference to the feelings of others when speaking. I remember thinking, this is lunacy and if allowed to continue ALL speech will be offending because there will always be someone who'll be offended even by the most benign words (see man and woman for examples).
It has been ALL downhill from there. It's even worse than I predicted. Used to be you'd teach your kids "sticks and stones". Now we teach the little pussies that if someone looks at them funny, they're being bullied and they need to run to the school law enforcement officer for resolution.
So we tell people that verbally offending people is this horrible atrocity and then we are surprised when shitheels find a way to use our self induced "center of gravity" (in the Clausewitzian sense) against us?
Sevo's right Fuck them all and if they don't like it, tough shit!
"It didn't used to be like this. This notion that it's a horrific act to offend someone is relatively new. It started in the mid-90s, about the time they coined the phrase "politically correct"."
Worth watching
That was AWESOME! I'll be saving that.
Priceless.
there was this picture in elementary school i remember that had a poorly drawn polar bear keeling over with a poorly drawn heart broken in half. the caption said "sticks and stone may break my bones, but names will REALLY hurt me"
i got in trouble for writing "the pussy bear says;" over the caption. at the parent teacher meeting to discuss it my dad laughed his fucking ass off and told the teacher to grow a sense of humor or stop teaching children.
... on a side note i believe in modern times he would have been turned over to CPS for teaching me to be anti-social or some nonsensical bullshit
I think if Islam is ever going to reform itself, it's probably going to start in Egypt.
I mean, they have to be thinking, "We built the pyramids, for crying out loud. We were once the greatest civilization on Earth."
Really, you can say the whole thing about much of the Middle East. Iraq and Persia at least. But Egypt can't forget about the past, because they still have the pyramids to remind them of their past glory.
I'm wondering what is in store for Egypt. It's economy was based on tourism, and tourism has crumbled.
We built the pyramids
I don't think it's the same people that were there 3000 years ago.
You didnt build that!
I read some Islamists want to tear down the pyramids because of its idolatrous nature. Egypt isn't the land of Osiris and Horus anymore.
Now if pre-Islamic culture ever comes back, I'm all in favor of:
I meant to reply JeremyR above
Crikey -- that interviewer shows more chutzpah than all U.S. TV "journalists" combined. Can we import a few?
Crikey? Btw. I'm sure there is a joke in the last scene when he doesn't hassle the Israeli but I'm not sure what it is.
Because Israelis are badass and ISIS doesn't want to mess with them, even though Jews are "the worst"?
Irony because ISIS is primary in the business of killing other Muslims?
I'm not sure.
Considering it's a Palestinian tv show, I'd say it's sort of a statement that "Israel is the REAL enemy, but ISIS is wasting their time with random killings of random muslims and christians." Also "Palestine is the ONLY issue in the world and all peoples should expend all their energy on the plight of the Palestinians."
Run a google search on "Israel funding isis".
One comes up with all sorts of nutty "theories." Which one is yours?
None of them.
The female tv host?Riham Said?this is my new hero?or heroine! That filthy, stinky "islamic" male got a good dose of reality from her. She is truly brave.
The world puts up with the "islamic/muslim" male at its peril.
I enjoyed how she ripped off his "holy man" mask, the facade of body language and tone of voice that says "I am calm in my holy wisdom". She mad it clear that he is just another vain flim-flam man looking to bully others into following his commands.
She clearly held no reverence for him as a holy anything. It would be great if we had some journalists with similar chutzpah here in the US. In addition to our politicians, we have our own brand of holy men spouting nonsense that no one dares call out to their face. Mostly folks of the left who claim some sort of victim status, but even with the far right leaders that are regularly ridiculed in "proper" circles there is rarely a bold confrontation done with this level of insight. Calling someone a bigot or even an idiot is one thing, allowing them to reveal themselves while not bending to their world view is a much more enlightening and courageous task.
Maurice Sinet, 80, who works under the pen name Sine, faces charges of "inciting racial hatred" for a column he wrote last July in the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo. The piece sparked a summer slanging match among the Parisian intelligentsia and ended in his DISMISSAL FROM THE MAGAZINE.
A high-profile political commentator slammed the column as linking prejudice about Jews and social success. Charlie Hebdo's editor, Philippe Val, ASKED SINET TO APOLOGISE but he refused, exclaiming: "I'd rather cut my balls off."

Sorry - not enough coffee yet. I knew this was an "old" story but I didn't realize how old. From Wikipedia:
In 2008, Sin?'s article and cartoons in the magazine Charlie Hebdo relating to Jean Sarkozy's marriage to Jessica Sebaoun-Darty, the Jewish heiress, touched off a controversy, after journalist Claude Askolovitch described them as anti-Semitic.[2] The magazine's editor, Philippe Val, ordered Sin? to write a letter of apology or face termination. The cartoonist said he would rather "cut his own balls off," and was promptly fired. Both sides subsequently filed lawsuits, and in December 2010, Sin? won a 40,000-euro court judgment against his former publisher for wrongful termination.[3]
Sin? also reported a death threat posted on a site run by the Jewish Defense League. The text said "20 centimeters of stainless steel in the gut, that should teach the bastard to stop and think."[4]
"20 centimeters of stainless steel in the gut, that should teach the bastard to stop and think."
I guess I missed that episode of Jewish Ninja Warrior
Don't fuck with jewjitsu.
its called krav maga
So the "anti-Semitism" consisted of saying "he'll go far in life" for marrying an attractive Jewish heiress? Sheesh. I wouldn't have apologized, either.
my neighbor's half-sister makes $83 hourly on the internet . She has been unemployed for 9 months but last month her paycheck was $14825 just working on the internet for a few hours. Read More Here......

The punchline is that they kill moslems and christians but not Joos,
get it?
This is the problem with satire and stupid people. There are so many interpretations, but simple minded people will hang on to the crassest one and get offended it by it, like the Mountain Dew ad written by a black creator about racist cops that black critical race theorists denounced as racist. Satire has many meanings.
I interpreted this as ISIS doesn't kill Israelis because Israel, unlike most of the other countries in the region, robustly defends its citizens. Had ISIS killed that boy at the checkpoint, Israel would destroy everyone there
It was made by Palestinians.
It ain't that hard to figure out their intent.
My friend makes $84 /hr on the computer . She has been fired from work for 7 months but last month her payment was $13167 just working on the computer for a few hours.

As someone who is turned on by both attractive and intelligent/bold women, that was simply hot.
Oh look, a video with SE Cupp above...gotta run!
I hope she removes the other 6 veils.
She had me at "fuck the system"
