The Catoosa, Oklahoma, school board has fired middle school math teacher Heather Cagle after she rewarded some of her students with a snack run to the local Wal-Mart. Cagle crammed 11 students into her Honda Accord, including two in the trunk. School officials said the trip was dangerous, and she didn't have parental approval to take students off campus.
So far, it's been silence from The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, and others.
"You cannot just decide you want to sell groceries," said Barbara Ferrer, the director of L.A. County Public Health.
