Can Your Candidate Pass the Ron Paul Test?
Before you dare vote today, for you non-early-voters, consider that Campaign for Liberty, the grassroots activist group in the Ron Paul tradition and chaired by the former congressman himself, surveyed candidates for both federal and state level offices on their stances on 20 matters of concern to Paul fans, including:
1. Will you cosponsor and support efforts for roll call votes on Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill, designed to bring transparency to the Federal Reserve (H.R. 24/S. 209 in the 113th Congress)?
2. Will you support legislation removing capital gains and sales taxes on gold and silver coinage?
3. Will you vote to oppose any legislation that allows the federal government to prohibit the sale, use, or carrying of firearms?…..
9. Will you support legislation to shut down the Transportation Security Administration and place airport security back into private hands?
10. Will you oppose using military action without a declaration of war?
11. Will you support and cast every vote for legislation that will repeal or defund ObamaCare?
12. Will you oppose any legislation that will force online businesses to collect sales taxes and increase costs on the American consumer, whether it is the so-called "Marketplace Fairness Act" or any other Internet sales tax scheme?
13. Will you support legislation that would prevent the indefinite detention of American citizens and would ensure full Fifth Amendment rights to due process?….
15. Will you oppose federal power grabs like roving wiretaps and warrantless searches and oppose Patriot Act renewal that includes such items?
16. Will you support efforts to end the NSA's unconstitutional domestic spying program?
17. Will you oppose any legislation that requires states and citizens to participate in a National Identification program, including mandatory E-Verify?
18. Will you support keeping our Internet free from government control and intrusion, including opposing power grabs such as SOPA, CISPA, or any other bill that mandates more government intervention in the Internet?
See those candidates who dared answer, and how they answered, here.

Well, the CA results are not at all surprising. No wonder my ballot gets marked for propositions and little for candidates.
My predictions for the Tuesday election:
Reason will still have an unending supply of stories bemoaning the loss of freedom and affronts to our civil rights.
The Nation and NPR will still complain that everything is racist.
The 90s II, the Revenge of the 90s will hopefully end within the next five years.
This will be nothing like the 90's.
Don't forget HuffPo and MJ blaming the Republican victory on Democrats not being socialistic enough.
Semi OT: Gate with Nazi slogan, "Arbeit Macht Frei" from memorial site at Dachau.
Sources suspect DNC operatives slogan-hunting for 2016 elections.

That has got to be the worst thing that ever happened there!

The Federal candidates in my NH district really suck ass.
The Governor race is horrible too. Havenstein is a cronyist piece of shit that ran my first most hated regional employer (the naval shipyard is second), and I have hated Governor Skeletor from day one when she was a legislator in my district.
Yeah, I'm writing in John Babiarz for Governor.
How about read the constitution the way it was written (english of the day) and vote with that in mind.Oh,never, never use the term ' the children" in talking about a proposed law
I wish we could conduct a pool here soon regarding the question: now that the R's hold majorities in both Houses, why aren't they voting to "repeal Obamacare"? I'm looking forward to the excuse-making.
Yeah, these are straight out of "the Ron Paul rulebook" from my understanding of the former Congressman. I can see why many candidates wouldn't answer any of the questions.
Here are the ones Mr. Doherty didn't mention:
4. Will you support ending all foreign aid?
5. Will you oppose any debt limit increase?
6. Do you support and will you vote to protect states asserting their rights under the Tenth Amendment?
7. Will you oppose Big Labor's Card Check bill and any other legislation designed to empower union bosses?
8. Will you cosponsor legislation such as the American Sovereignty Restoration Act (H.R. 75 in the 113th Congress) to withdraw the U.S. from the United Nations?
14. Will you vote against any budget that increases our deficit?
19. Will you oppose all tax increases?
20. Indicate the tax cuts you are willing to vote for:
A) Across-the-Board Income Tax Cut
B) Capital Gains Tax Cut
C) Business Tax Cut
D) Estate Tax Cut
From my perspective, there is a lot to agree with in that survey.
No surprise, very few of the politistas in Massachusetts even had the guts to answer.
I think I would have voted yes on everything on there. The Tenth Amendment one is a bit dicey. Putting aside my own concerns (see my profile name), couldn't that also be used to deny gays the right to marry or to criminalize marijuana within certain states' borders?
Yup.
#2 is weird. Why limit it to gold and silver? The principle is no different for any other commodity.
There are few candidates that can pass the Ron Paul test. Let's hope our legislators remember what makes our country great... principles of a FREE Marketplace! The devil is in the details of the Marketplace Fairness Act. I've found most supporters have only scratched the surface of the bill (which is a indefinite tax snowball...ahhh!) Friends must view one of these 2 min videos produced by eMainStreet Alliance and be stuck to the surface no more!
