'We Don't Have a Strategy Yet' For ISIL, Says Obama
Which actually may be good news.
President Obama admitted today that his administration does not have a strategy in combating the militant Islamic group ISIS that has grabbed large chunks of Iraq and Syria.
The president said he would be meeting today with the National Security Council.
"The options that I'm asking for from the Joint Chiefs focuses primarily on making sure that ISIL is not overrunning Iraq," Obama said using another acronym for the militant Islamic group ISIS.
"We don't have a strategy yet. We're seeing some news reports suggesting we are further ahead than we are," he said.

I can easily envision Jesse, from Breaking Bad, when coming upon this Obama character, letting loose with one of his infamous "*****".
(Go ahead, someone else finish it for me.)
BITCH!
Hang on. Stop. Time out.
Palin's Buttplug said there's an Obama Doctrine!
And it involves dropping bombs/missiles on innocents. Earn that peace prize, BO!
Palin's Buttplug said there's an Obama Doctrine!
The problem isn't that Obama has no plan or doctrine, it's that he actually realizes that they all violate "Don't do stupid shit" clause.
Once he's gazed upon the Dragon Scroll and solved the Riddle of Steel, then we'll take action.
WTF ... no wait I gotta spell it out... What the Fuck!!!!
Obama held a press conference to say he had nothing to say?????
ISIS took Fallujah in January and he still doesn't have a plan????
If ISIS are the JV team, Obama must lead the kindergarten team -- and not the good one.
"Obama held a press conference to say he had nothing to say?????"
I'm gonna say that's an improvement over the normal steaming pile of lies.
ISIS took Fallujah at the start of January. So, we are now almost 9 months after they revealed their grown operational capabilities. It was only in June that they were moving towards Baghdad after taking Mosul and Tikrit. That's three months of time. Obama said he was reviewing all of his military options around that time, as well.
How long, exactly, does he think he has to make decisions on matters like this? If you are going to act, you don't wait as your target has time to get stronger. Which is all ISIS has done while he's considered his options.
To sum it up - this is the absolute opposite of leadership.
And since when does he care or prefer to go through Congress? The only situation I can recall him doing that for was Syria after he saw the poll numbers so he could save face and/or spread blame down the road.
"The only situation I can recall him doing that for was Syria after he saw the poll numbers so he could save face and/or spread blame down the road."
That and the other tin-pot dictator saved his sorry ass.
Oh there's a strategy alright; it's just that the Dali Bama doesn't like the way it polls. The military has a strategic plan for every contingency. For ISIS, it goes something like "Bomb the shit out of them whenever and wherever they mass". Anything else is pointless.
I'm not sure which is more jaw-droppingly stupid -- the idea that The Administration would still not have a strategy after this many months of ISIS being on the public radar, or the fact that Obama would admit to not having a strategy after all this time. For Christ's sake, you can play vague and cagey about such things -- talk about how you're conferring with allies and regional leaders and preparing for action while keeping options open. Don't just get up in front of the whole planet and shrug!
