  1. Fist of Etiquette   11 years ago

We’re also putting boots on the ground in Iraq.

    1. WTF   11 years ago

Less than division strength doesn’t count.

      1. Bardas Phocas   11 years ago

        Not kinetic-y enough?

        1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Can’t be spotted by WTF’s low-rent spy sattelites.

          1. WTF   11 years ago

            They’re DRONZ!!11!!

      2. Freddy B   11 years ago

Also helps in the “not counting” if they are special forces or called advisers. Amazing how Statist arithmetic works – they add or count whatever they want because FYTW.

        1. mad.casual   11 years ago

“Shock-and-awe” didn’t work so we’re trying the opposite.

They’d tell us that but “predictable-and-disappointing” doesn’t have the same ring.

  2. WTF   11 years ago

    NEEDZ. MOAR. LABELZ.

  3. GotOutOfCali   11 years ago

So wait, is one of those people ‘sposed to be Obama? HOW CAN I POSSIBLY TELL??!!

    1. Pathogen   11 years ago

      Obama almost always wears suits..

      1. BigT   11 years ago

That must be what is keeping him from breaking par!

      2. Libertarian   11 years ago

Suit or no suit, if I was a black guy I would be standing around the rear end of an MRAP like that. Not in Ferguson.

        1. Libertarian   11 years ago

          WOULDN’T

          Dammit. Where’s my coffee!!!!!?!?!?!??

          1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

            That’s not Ferguson. He’s in Martha’s Vinyard.

      3. Ted S.   11 years ago

Except when he’s on the golf course.

    2. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

He’s the one that isn’t Dukakis.

      1. Swiss Servator, spare a franc?   11 years ago

        +1 tank video

  4. invisible furry hand   11 years ago

Bok published this on his own website last week, so it’s aged like a fine wine. Or an old cheese. Votes please.

    1. BigT   11 years ago

      One vote for dead fish.

    2. WTF   11 years ago

Milk. It’s aged like milk. Very old milk.

      1. Suthenboy   11 years ago

        Isn’t that called cheese?

        1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

No, there’s no rennet… but other things have made their home in it.

          1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

*yes I know rennet is an enzyme and not a living thing in of itself, the statement was poorly worded.

            1. WTF   11 years ago

I had a microbiology professor in college who didn’t eat cheese because he said cheese was just a contest between you and the bacteria over who would get most of the milk.

              1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Then he’s a fool, because by the time you get to the cheese, the bacteria is done. They’re used mainly to acidify the milk with bacteria piss so that the calf-stomach liner can properly coagulate it.

                1. WTF   11 years ago

He was just being facetious. I know how cheese is actually made, and so did he.

                  1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Thou shalt not mock cheese! Cheesiness is next to Godliness!

                    1. WTF   11 years ago

Hey, I love cheese. I even like Blue cheese, which actually has active mold living in it.

                    2. Pro Libertate   11 years ago

                      Blessed are the cheesemakers.

                    3. WTF   11 years ago

                      +1 Brian

          2. Another David   11 years ago

What are you, some kind of rennet-seeker?

            1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Well, I am trying to live off of royalties instead of working for a living, and I do like cheese…

  5. BigT   11 years ago

Why not? We already have boots on the ground in more than 150 other countries. What’s so special about Iraq?

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

In most of those places – no one is shooting at us.

      1. Almanian!   11 years ago

Well, come on down to Ferguson! We can get SOMEONE to shoot at you if that’s what yer lookin’ fer!

    2. Anon E. Mouse   11 years ago

A few guys working as military liaisons in an Embassy hardly qualifies as “boots on the ground”. If it ain’t in the triple-digits, and it’s public knowledge, it’s “dress shoes and cocktails” on the ground.

  6. Will4Freedom   11 years ago

If Bok would have moved the “P” just a little further left, he would have had room for the same size “O” as the other letters.

And if Obama’s ears drop any lower, they’re going to be on his shoulders.

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Those aren’t ears. He’s part chipmonk and is storing food for the winter.

      1. Drave Robber   11 years ago

I think he’s been attacked by flying zombie skulls.

        1. Rhywun   11 years ago

          Or giant referee whistles.

    2. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Also, these aren’t police, they’re Po-LICE, a distant relative of the body louse.

      1. Swiss Servator, spare a franc?   11 years ago

If they work hard, save and keep their spending discipline, someday they can be Rich-LICE!

        1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

MAny, however, will not even make it to being MiddleClass-LICE.

  7. Libertarian   11 years ago

All this “free” military equipment. Who’s going to fix it when it breaks? And how much will it cost? I can see it now, in about a year police chiefs all over he country are going to be saying they need more funding or else they’re going to have to lay off patrolmen.

    1. WTF   11 years ago

Yeah, I’m sure they have no clue as to what maintenance is involved for APCs, MRAPs, etc. and will be shocked when they find out Charlie’s Garage down the street can’t do it.

      1. Swiss Servator, spare a franc?   11 years ago

Navistar is drooling at the thought.

        1. Pro Libertate   11 years ago

          I AM NAViSTAR.

          1. Swiss Servator, spare a franc?   11 years ago

            +1 Sinibomb

    2. db   11 years ago

Dude, that’s all part of the plan. Maintenance contractors will make loads off of local police departments, and will hire all those specialists who know how to do the maintenance who will be discharged. It’s a corporate welfare/jobs program.

      1. BigT   11 years ago

Hire a Vet. They are the only ones who know how to fix this stuff.

    3. Freddy B   11 years ago

Ohhh, Ohhh, can I answer? The same people who pay in settled cases of police brutality! The taxpayer.

      I want my trophy.

  8. Spoonman.   11 years ago

    1. Almanian!   11 years ago

“By looking at what percentage of the budget presidents propose to spend to fight poverty, we can compare their degree of commitment.”

Yes, yes we can. Because – INTENTIONS!

Good lord, that was dangerous treading over there and reading that. My brain hurts! I shut my head in the cupboard…!

  10. Almanian!   11 years ago

    So –

    1) Why does the older Rodney Allen Rippy have shoe-shaped earrings dangling from his lobes? Is he angling for a spot on “The Independents” panel?

Wait – or are those cheek piercings? NEEDZ MOAR LABELZ.

    2) Who thinks an Ewok dressed up like a Storm Trooper on an MRAP is funny? THIS GUY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ewoks! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

So, in summary – terrible. Awful. Therefore – perfect.

Happy fucking Friday, Reasonoids! I hope you all get hit by a truck and taste your own blood before you die!

    /Kinison

Also, this seems an appropriate time for one of my Golden Oldies:

    “Boots on the Ground”

    Boots on the ground
    Boots on the ground!
    Lookin’ like a fool
    With your
    Boots on the ground
    With your helmet on sideways
    Lookin’ like Dukakis
    Lookin’ like a fool
    Whitcha
    Boots on the ground!

    1. Ted S.   11 years ago

I was wondering whether anybody else would make the connection.

  12. Tim   11 years ago

We can’t go back into Iraq…we gave away all our desert war toys to Podunk PDs.

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

I’ve got it – send the Podunk PDs to Iraq!

      1. Loki   11 years ago

That’s not a bad idea. Except most of those fuckers wouldn’t be able to hack it in the real military. Rules of engagement are too restrictive.

        1. Michael Price   11 years ago

So what? When they break them send them to Levenworth for 20 years. Problem solved.

  13. userve32   11 years ago

    Pretty scary stuff man.

Am I suppoed to recognize who was cast as satan?

  15. Brian D   11 years ago

I like how Satan is holding his pitchfork with his pinky extended. You can be evil and still exercise proper etiquette.

  16. Almanian!   11 years ago

Looks like Lord Cromwell’s legs are on backwards…

  17. db   11 years ago

    The Monarch?

  18. Almanian!   11 years ago

“Take The President’s cock out of your mouth, put it down, and take three steps back, shriek..”

  19. Redmanfms   11 years ago

    humility

Jesus. One of the most narcissistic men to hold public office in the US and this fuckwit believes he exhibits humility????

no doubt qualities shaped in large part by a challenging upbringing.

Challenging? Challenging? WTF is challenging about an upper-middle class upbringing and private school education?

If Obama was a Republican this very same idiot would be labeling him a man of privilege, because that’s exactly what he is!!! (and there is nothing wrong with a privileged upbringing).

  20. Swiss Servator, spare a franc?   11 years ago

    Pitchfork of Etiquette?

  21. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

(and there is nothing wrong with a privileged upbringing).

There is a distinct correlation between privileged upbringings and socialistic tendencies, so there has to be something wrong with it.

  22. Heroic Mulatto   11 years ago

Certain software packages have cut down the suicide rate of researchers in corpus linguistics, but not by much.

  23. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

    While others have working links.

  24. Heroic Mulatto   11 years ago

    here

  25. BigT   11 years ago

There is a distinct correlation between privileged upbringings and socialistic tendencies

So that’s why the Russians, Chinese, Cubans, etc became socialists. They were too privileged!!

  26. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Who led them down that path?
