U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte has banned lawyers from using the word Redskins in a lawsuit brought by former New York Giants linebacker Barrett Green against the Washington football team. Messitte has refused to talk to reporters about the order.

Worthless fucking tool of the current UBER-corrupt administration. Not only NOT for the first amendment, but actively banning it in his courtroom. What a fag... do you really have NOTHING BETTER TO DO?!?!?
Everytime I see a story about a liberal fag (usually an old white male) talking about how insensitive the name is it makes me want to run right out and buy ANOTHER RG3 jersey!!!

    1. Wasteland Wanderer   11 years ago

The judge drives a really loud Harley? Not sure what that has to do with this...

        Harley Butt Secks?

    2. Ted S.   11 years ago

      I think they're taxi-corrupt, not Uber-corrupt or even Lyft-corrupt.

The Honorable Peter Messitte's peer evaluations

The Robing Room is an interesting site. 6 of the bottom 10 judges nationally are from California, the Central District being the most notorious.

    4. Bo Cara Esq.   11 years ago

Not sure what's worse, your swear and homophobic epithet riddled post or that in it you admit to owning a RGIII jersey.

      1. Ted S.   11 years ago

Why would you want the jersey of a "cornball brother", anyway?

Or the Syracuse English Loyalists That Enslaved And Massacred Irishmen

        1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

As a protestant Irish, I'm offended by this gross generalization of the Orange. Plus I grew up in Syracuse, no one there could remember when the mascot wasn't a giant citrus.

          1. Ted S.   11 years ago

Can't we just be offended by both sides in the Ireland dispute? 😉

Seriously, Mom is part Irish on her mother's side, and ever since she got on an Ireland kick, I discovered that the Southern Irish Americans are some of the whiniest, woe is me victim mentality types out there.

            1. Notorious G.K.C.   11 years ago

There are always the Peter King types (not that your mom is one of those), but don't forget the peace deal of 1998 which (so far) is still holding up - they've managed to muddle through for 16 years and counting, with a minimum of bombings. While still holding their conflicting historical narratives.

              1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Given time and enough not-killing (which people like Peter 'Terrorist Supporter' King interrupt) the rift will dimish to mere insults. Then from insults to good-natured insults. At which point there's not much more healing to be done.

                1. Scruffy Nerfherder   11 years ago

At that point micro-aggressions will increase and triggers will be set off, it will be an epidemic of sensitive proportions.

He cannot say the name. How does he make reference to the organization then? Their FEIN? The "Washington R-Words"?

    1. Live Free Or Diet   11 years ago

"We aren't named in the suit, Judge."

      1. db   11 years ago

One wonders if he didn't issue the order for this exact reason and to show the absurdity of the earlier Federal order regarding the name.

        1. Scruffy Nerfherder   11 years ago

That requires some level of self-awareness

      2. Ted S.   11 years ago

If it weren't for the fact that it would get me cited for contempt, I'd refer to Judge ***** if I were one of the parties to the case.

    2. Brian D   11 years ago

"The Washington football team that this court has censored us into not naming in violation of the First Amendment."

    3. invisible furry hand   11 years ago

      The Washington Voldemorts, of course

    4. waffles   11 years ago

R-slurs, not R-words. This is bullshit, we all know this. Somebody posted a screed on able-ism on my facebook. I was going to respond that the article calls for nothing short of thought censorship and such censorship is a far more dire consequence than maybe potentially hurting someone's feelings. Then I thought better and hit "unfollow".

      1. Scruffy Nerfherder   11 years ago

Then I thought better and hit "unfollow".

Get in there and kick ass. It's far more satisfying.

    5. Bill   11 years ago

He had to make that ruling. The word was "triggering" for him.

By the way, how much does "triggering" suck as a verb? (or is it an adverb?)

  4. Notorious G.K.C.   11 years ago

    What's this lawsuit about? Ticket-scalping?

    1. db   11 years ago

Stop it right now with this papoosive language!

      1. Toki Wartooth   11 years ago

Bunch of racists and your hate language. I bet your just like your parents, a couple of chippewas right off the old block.
