The boss has horns? This isn't The Nation, Chip
I think that that's supposed to be Dilbert's boss.
Dilbert is a Chip Bok creation?
A red-white-and-blue *slap!*
We hold these *slaps!* to be self-evident
😎
Have a happy Fourth of July, ifh, and a happy Fifth of Scotch.
You too my friend.
Happy "Independence" Day everyone. And yes, clearly Dilberts boss, which makes it less funny.
Would be funnier if it was Wally holding her sign.
Question: which is funnier, the above cartoon or Krugman's opening paragraphs in his column yesterday?
"You often find people talking about our economic difficulties as if they were complicated and mysterious, with no obvious solution. As the economist Dean Baker recently pointed out, nothing could be further from the truth. The basic story of what went wrong is, in fact, almost absurdly simple: We had an immense housing bubble, and, when the bubble burst, it left a huge hole in spending. Everything else is footnotes.
And the appropriate policy response was simple, too: Fill that hole in demand. In particular, the aftermath of the bursting bubble was (and still is) a very good time to invest in infrastructure. "
Shorter Krugman..
Soo, you got a hangnail.. it happens. What's important here is that it's infected. The discomfort is a footnote. It was (and still is) a very good time to invest in cinderblocks.
Almost all commenters agree with his column. One said that the mechanics are busier than ever repairing the suspension systems on cars. I asked why in the world does Krugman want to spend more on roads and put all those mechanics out of jobs. Will be interesting to see if anyone there even notices that I was being sarcastic.
Even shorter Krugman:
MOAR SPENDING!!!11!1!
I've been reading the comments and my IQ has dropped about 20 points in the last half hour. I am literally starting to drool.* The little bit of optimism that I get here, reading like-minded libertarians, has been obliterated. There is no hope for this country.
* when I say "literally" I mean "literally!!"
Welcome to the club!

I think that slut is eyeing up her boss. Must be the woozying effect of the patriarchy.
DA MALE GAYZE!!!!
The basic story of what went wrong is, in fact, almost absurdly simple: We had an immense housing bubble, and, when the bubble burst, it left a huge hole in spending. Everything else is footnotes.
"You fucked up. You trusted us. Now, pay attention; this is what you should do."
This is actually pretty good.
YEAH, I SAID IT!
Then Bok went and copied Scott Adams Teh Evul Boss. THANKS A LOT, CHIP.
Happy Fourth of Fucking July, Reasonoids.
I agree. It is pretty good, but referencing the pointy-haired boss drains some of the punch out of it.
I don't understand why these holy rollers are so down on BC that "prevents implantation" when that happens with just about every pregnancy.
"I don't understand why these holy rollers are so down on "murder" when death happens with just about every life."
Perhaps you would explain what you mean by "holy roller." I suspect it is just an insult tossed out to some one who is a Christian and you have a fundamental disagreenent with them. In typical fashion reversion to insults is the standard defense.
Perhaps if you dug deeper and learned that they aren't disagreeing to pay for preventative measures, just those that take a human life you might have a different opinion.
But then again, you might not.,
This one was actually funny.
