Brickbat: He Really Stepped in It

San Marino, California, Mayor Dennis Kneier has been cited for littering after he was caught on video tossing a bag full of dog feces onto a neighbor's yard. The neighbor, Philip Lao, says he believes Kneier was upset by his opposition to a city dog park. Kneier faces a fine of $250 to $1,000.

No, no! It is merely constituent service! He is delivering free organic fertilizer.
Seriously, considering the time and aggravation involved, not to mention disgust, the max fine of $1000 is not enough.

The flaming bag is really much better. Our political class clearly has deteriorated over the decades.
shit happens?
I'd like to be in court when the prosecuting attorney slams down "Exhibit A" in front of the mayor and says, "Sir, does this look familiar to you!?"
I guess vandalism is littering when the mayor does it.
good catch
Ok, this might sound extreme... but:
This mayor should be fired for this.
Not only does he know what he is doing is wrong, he is doing it out of political vindictiveness.
This is exactly the type of situation in which a highly elected person must be held to a much higher standard than another citizen.
When he protests that that punishment is too harsh, the response it:
"You don't have a right to be mayor. You have been permitted to be mayor. All the rights belong to the citizens YOU SERVE. Any malicious act by you against a citizen is merely you requesting that you be fired and requires that you be replaced by someone who understands his role."
