The National Security Agency, meanwhile, denies Snowden expressed concern about the illegality of its surveillance program and says it can only find one relevant e-mail from the former contractor.
Sounds like someone's haystack got one needle too big.
This is why the NSA needs more resources.
(I'm sure some asshole is already making that argument.)
Hello.
Howdy.
It would be news if they admitted he had raised concerns.
Funny, they find can everyone else's e-mails.
LOL.
Cop pepper-sprays and bashes two homeless guys and then charges them with assault. And he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those darn cameras
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new.....s-men.html
How long will the cop spend in prison?
AHAHAHAHAHA!!!111!!!
The magistrate openly admits that the actions of the police were illegal, and all he does is drop the charges against the victims.
He can't do anything else apart perhaps from sending a copy of his reasons to the Director of Public Prosecutions
Bullshit, he can examine the cop's testimony and hold him responsible, i.e contempt charges or perjury.
Not under Australian law.
I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those pesky kids cameras!
Just got a letter from David Nott about FreedomFest at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas:
Planet Hollywood??
Its the old Alladin I am pretty sure. Great location, built in the 90s, nice place.
By the time they finally closed it for renovation into the PH the Aladdin was a total shit hole.
I would stay at the MGM next door and use the walkway to avoid the heat.
I love Vegas. The 2008 financial collapse really changed the economics there though.
It's like Planet Fitness, only with more fitness.
North Koreans, however, are still unable to access Google.
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will pay a record $2 billion to buy the Los Angeles Clippers
Ballmer hasn't lost his incredible business acumen, I see.
He's a ball(m)er.
GIVE IT UP FOR ME!
How does an idiot like Ballmer get to run a major corporation like Microsoft?
At college, Ballmer managed the football team, worked on The Harvard Crimson newspaper as well as the Harvard Advocate, and lived down the hall from fellow sophomore Bill Gates.
So, coattails and cronyism. Got it.
It's a vanity purchase.
Plus he's pricing in the upcoming TV negotiations in 2016, just like Guggenheim did with the Doyers.
The ROI on NBA teams has been pretty good, especially since the next Clippers TV deal (in about 2 yrs) is rumored to be about $1 billion.
...lawyers for alleged mass shooter James Holmes to compel FoxNews.com reporter Jana Winter to testify about her sources in his trial.
Because that information is the key to saving him?
Google Maps now offers directions in North Korea.
Quickest route to death camps without tolls, please.
With a pit stop at reeducation camp.
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will pay a record $2 billion to buy the Los Angeles Clippers
I still maintain Sterling knew what he was doing all along, and that this entire fiasco was intended to drive the price up to whoever wanted to save the team from the clutches of an evil racist old man the most.
I'm starting to think that. I'm sure his thoughtcrime violation will also speed up the league's ok of the sale.
Speeding up the league's ok of the sale may have been a motivation, but it didn't drive up the price. That's just what NBA teams are worth since Stern handed the NBAPA its ass in the current CBA.
A bill passed in Connecticut would require police to track stun gun use.
Just one more thing to get hid from FOIA requests.
I predict an uptick in the number of bean bag gun attacks by the cops. Those aren't recorded right?
And in the city of secrets, even President Obama's lunch with Hillary Clinton is one.
The rules of good public relations work is to only have one spouse dominate the lunch controversy news cycle per day.
The National Security Agency, meanwhile, denies Snowden expressed concern about the illegality of its surveillance program and says it can only find one relevant e-mail from the former contractor.
OK, time for Greenwald to release copies of all the relevant e-mails that NSA couldn't find.
^this. Greenwald and Snowden have repeatedly snookered the administration with this tactic, and the administration still hasn't learned.
Yup, pretty sure Ed has these ready to go, otherwise he wouldn't have made a point of saying it.
The White House said it was not considering clemency for Edward Snowden, and that the whistleblower should return to the U.S. to be prosecuted.
I doubt they used the term whistleblower.
#ManUp
Yeah, man the fuck up. It's not like you don't have an extra kidney.
Hey! That comment better not be cracking wise about someone's medical condition. Birth defects are off limits.
An informant has assured us that Snowden does have two kidneys.
*throws flashbang*
/cop
"Whistlefucker!"
Does he blow a dog whistle?
Yeah, you don't see any administration officials flee abroad to avoid prosecution for their crimes.
Oh, wait, they aren't being prosecuted, never mind.
Come home and spend the rest of your life in prison.
I hope Obama was saying it ironically.

Viewing porn shrinks the brain
I think I have enough blood to go both places.
Ahh the advantage of having a tiny penis... wait....
it doesn't have to go to both places at the same time
and trust me, it doesn't. Men have famously done stupid shit for women just on the off chance they will get laid.
If women understood half of their power we would all be in trouble.
That completely explains the link between higher IQ and kinkiness.
Not.
There could be a gap between doing and viewing ya know.
This probably sums it up memorably and concisely.
This raises a question.
If viewing porn shrinks the brain, the what does sexual activity with a partner do to it?
Shrinks the wallet
I'm sorry; what was the question?
Fortunately, I never view porn for more than a few minutes at a time.

Ah, yes. That can be a problem for the unpornitiated.
I always thought semen could be reabsorbed. Some say that prevention of ejaculation gives them an edge. I think it's phooey.
Wastage is removed through involuntary nocturnal release, it is not reabsorbed.
This is why it's so, so important tha we guard our Precious Bodily Fluids?.
Tell me something, UCS - have you ever seen a Communist drink water?
I've heard that and never quite understand what it means. Do they think that after you ejaculate you can't go for another round after a short break?
It has less to do with the ejaculation, and more to do with the hormones released afterward, like prolactin, which makes men sleepy. The point is avoiding that hormone release. As Hemingway referred to it in For Whom the Bell Tolls, "the feeling a man gets after sleeping with a woman who he does not love".
Viewing porn shrinks the brain
Researchers said it is not clear whether watching porn leads to brain changes or whether people born with certain brain types watch more porn

I can understand running over a cop, but hiding in the woods naked? That I don't get.
The inihibitions that would make him not run over the cop were gone, and took with them the inhibitions that kept his clothes on.

Interesting article from First Things:
http://www.firstthings.com/art.....government
..When conservatives grumble against government it is against government that seems to them to be imposed from outside, like the government of an occupying power. That was the kind of government that grew in Europe under communism, and which is growing again under the European Union?softer, gentler, perhaps, but also unaccountable. And it is easy to think that a similarly alien form of government is growing in America, as a result of the liberal policy of regimenting the American people according to moral beliefs that are to a certain measure alien, leading them to denounce government tout court. But this would be a mistake, not just about the fundamental human need for government, but also about the American situation as compared with Europe. And because it is a mistake that so many conservatives make, it is time to warn against it..."
"...The business of conservatives is to criticize the ones who are misusing government, and who seek to extend its remit beyond the limits that the rest of us spontaneously recognize. Conservatism should be a defense of government against its abuse by liberals."

Southern Co. and former cable TV mogul Ted Turner have teamed up to acquire the largest solar power plant in New Mexico.
Southern and Turner Renewable Energy said the Macho Springs Solar Facility. on 600 acres in Luna County, has been under construction since July 2013 and was scheduled to begin commercial operations this week.
The facility was purchased from First Solar, which built the plant and will operate and maintain it. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The market must do more like this to mitigate AGW. I know you Peanuts think every pro-science type is a Marxist buy many of us know only cheaper market alternatives will move the issue.
Every big energy company is in the wind space already - don't know about solar.
Dig a bit deeper and I'm sure you'll find a mountain of tax subsidies funding this "market" alternative.
Hold on. You guys say that "tax subsidies" are not real subsidies when it comes to Oil & Gas.
Because they don't get tax subsidies.
I'm sorry. I mistook you for someone who has the intelligence to understand the difference between taking from one and giving to another (tax subsidy), and taking from one and giving a little back (tax break). My bad.
You guys say that "tax subsidies" are not real subsidies when it comes to Oil & Gas.
No, you just don't understand the difference between a "tax subsidy", where money from taxpayers is transferred to other parties, and accelerated depreciation resulting in a lower tax burden, which is goddamn GAAP accounting.
Oil & Gas gets tax subsidies (not credits) for a lot more than accelerated depreciation.
Oil & gas companies operate under such a different set of tax rules that they might as well have their own subchapter. I've yet to see any attempted accounting of the "giveaways" to the energy sector that doesn't also account for the way the code increases their tax burden.
Rather than flailing about trying to redefine subsidy:
A subsidy is a form of financial or in kind support extended to an economic sector (or institution, business, or individual) generally with the aim of promoting economic and social policy.[1] Although commonly extended from Government, the term subsidy can relate to any type of support - for example from NGOs or implicit subsidies. Subsidies come in various forms including: direct (cash grants, interest-free loans) and indirect (tax breaks, insurance, low-interest loans, depreciation write-offs, rent rebates).[2] Furthermore, they can be broad or narrow, legal or illegal, ethical or unethical
The denialists that want to defend O&G subsidies would be better off pointing out the tiny amount of subsidies relative to the size of the industry.

Don't lock eyes with 'em, don't do it. Puts 'em on edge. They might go into berzerker mode; come at you like a whirling dervish, all fists and elbows. You might be screaming "No, no, no" and all they hear is "Who wants cake?" Let me tell you something: They all do. They all want cake.
I'm sorry but it's completely asinine to classify a tax reduction as a subsidy. If that's the case, everyone who lists deductions on their 1040 is being "subsidized by the government."
"Market". Give oil and coal plants the same tax credits and see how competitive this plant is:
Eh...would've been more compelling if it were about Macho Grande.

You are such a fuckin' idiot, Shreek. I am not going to explain the physics or math to you, but, all you have to do is look at the europeans solar panel debacles to see how this is going to turn out.
Re: Peter Caca,
Which is akin to teaming up to buy the world's most beautiful leisure suit.
Your statement tells me two things: One, you have no idea what "mitigating" AGW entails and two, you have only a very superficial knowledge of basic PHYSICS. There is NO WAY that solar can ever achieve the level of energetic substitution required to make it competitive against other forms of energy production including wind, for the fact that the small amount of solar energy received by the Earth is too dispersed, which is why you need enormous surface area just to obtain a few hundred watts of energy.
Not to mention that the top of the line commercial solar panels get, at best, 20% efficiency, but again those are top of the line. The typical panel will get 8-12% efficiency.
Why?
There's several things you 'warmers' haven't proved to any level of satisfaction.
1. That climate change has a large sensitivity to human actions.
2. That climate change is 'catastrophic'.
3. What, exactly, needs to be done to mitigate.
4. That the costs of *not* mitigating will be greater than the costs of mitigating - indeed, the plans touted nowadays will cost far more than simply ignoring the problem and absorbing immigration from populations displaced by climate change.
Also - and this is a big one. SOLAR PLANTS ARE NET GREENHOUSE GAS EMITTERS. Once you factor in the lifecycle (including construction), the unreliability of power generation requiring fast-response energy generators (meaning gas turbines running on stand-by - emitting GHG), and the huge, ongoing infrastructure replacement costs these facilities have (they don't last as long as a coal or oil-fired or nuke plant).
A lot of rich guys have retarded hobbies.

This morning as I was channel-hopping, I landed on Morning Joke just in time to hear the nodders congratulating Michael Bloomberg for his "bold" and "timely" remarks about liberal bias and close-mindedness in higher education, delivered in the guise of a commencement address at Harvard. They showed a clip wherein he pointed out that 96% of Harvard faculty political donations went to Obama, which actually brought forth a smattering of applause from the trained seals who instinctively applaud whenever His name is mentioned. That was pretty funny.
Eventually, they got to the real background of the story. Bloomberg's pet obersturmfuhrer, Ray Kelly, got booed somewhere, and it pissed Bloomberg right off. Disliking Bloomberg's heavy-handed proto-Nazi (There! I said it.) civilian pacification tactics is just like McCarthyism in reverse.
Also, one of the nodders said something about how just because 96% of the faculty at Harvard donated to Obama, that doesn't mean they all agree with him 100%. Or something.
... a smattering of applause from the trained seals who instinctively applaud whenever His name is mentioned.

Hillary Clinton accuses Benghazi critics of 'flat-out deceit'
"Many of these same people are a broken record about unanswered questions. But there is a difference between unanswered questions and unlistened to answers," she writes.
"Those who exploit this tragedy over and over as a political tool minimize the sacrifice of those who served our country," Clinton says.
"There were scores of attackers that night, almost certainly with differing motives," she writes. "It is inaccurate to state that every single one of them was influenced by this hateful video. It is equally inaccurate to state that none of them were. Both assertions defy not only the evidence but logic as well."
She truly is a disingenuous cunt.
I don't like that word, but she earned it.

Good idea. Thank you.
And here was I thinking "Clinton" was offensive enough
Governer Clinton built the Erie canal and aided the initial economic growth of New York (before more recent administrations screwed it up). Bubba and his bride are stains on the name.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
Ah yes, the people who didn't blame the attack on the video to try and win an election are the ones guilty of 'flat out deceit'.
This would mean that I can put out "truthful" public statements claiming that the attack was undertaken as part of the Hillary 2016 campaign.
After all, there were SO MANY attackers there that night, how can we be sure that NONE of them were Hillary supporters?
That's where we end up with this "Nuh-uh, you don't KNOW it wasn't the video!" nonsense.
Step 1: search for pictures of technicals in Libya
Step 2: Photoshop subtle but recognizable "I'm Ready For Hillary" bumperstickers on them.
Step 3: Start disseminating them through sites like Imgur, etc, but don't call attention to the stickers, just use a second account to ask "Is that a 'I'm Ready For Hillary' sticker on that jihadist's truck?"
After all, there were SO MANY attackers there that night, how can we be sure that NONE of them were Hillary supporters?
There were literally dozens of them!

Cooperative Interrogative: Most over-rated musician/singer/band?
Dave Matthews and Hootie tie.
This raises an interesting sub-question: How best can you differentiate between Inexplicably Popular and Over-Rated?
For example, I think Bruce Springsteen is both, but divining the percentage breakdown eludes me.
I was going by over-rated percentage.
Since Dave Matthews and Hootie have 0 value, that makes any positive rating they have equal infinite over-rating on a percentage basis.
So even though most people rate them very low, by not rating them 0 they are infinitely over-rating them.
Many people rate Springsteen very highly. But since Springsteen's value isn't 0, he still bows to Dave Matthews and Hootie on the over-rating scale.
I was going absolute difference.
You need someone with a large rating to be most over-rated then.
How about -
Inexplicably Popular is complete shit that is wildly commercially succesful
- while -
Over-Rated is mildly good music which people who write about it say is great music.
I would try to think up some examples but remembering so much shitty music is hard on my attitude.
Look. It's simple. You think Mellencamp and Springsteen are over rated or crap. I don't. Seen them live and they're wonderful musicians and in the case of the latter laced with lyrics I like. Jesus Christ, people think The Beatles, The Godfather and Wayne Gretzky are all over rated.
I don't get into these sort of subjective debates.
And Hootie's and the DMB body of work are nowhere near the level of Springsteen so not sure if it's fair to group them together.
BTW I don't see how Springsteen can be overrated when 90% of the performers in the singer/songwriter space that indie music douchebags love so much has Springsteen as an influence.
Fuck, half the music that comes out in the whole folk/Americana sector is chicks trying to do the Nebraska album over and over and over.
Maybe that entire genre is over-rated.
I liked mocking the music channels on cable that would list the influences of artists.
Really, The Beatles? Next you are going to say that they were influenced by Robert Johnson?
I liked mocking the music channels on cable that would list the influences of artists.
Really, The Beatles?
Nobody should give this answer anymore. Every artist gives respect to the Beatles, even if only perfunctory. It's like saying "the book was better than the movie." Everyone says that! Unless you're going to say "the Beatles are fucking terrible and I'm glad I found bandmates who agree with that" then don't even bring it up. It's the default assumption at this point.

Their music may suck but hot girls and sundresses seems to be their primary concert goers. A quality which can never be overrated.
John Melloncrap.
God I really hate him he is like the aborted love child of the homeless man's Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan.
They're not the most overrated, but the critical love for Arcade Fire is bewildering.
Kanye West is overrated by himself, but that probably doesn't count. He does leave me cold, even though Lou Reed's praise for an act would usually sway me
They're not the most overrated, but the critical love for Arcade Fire is bewildering.
If you spent more time around indie music journalists, I think you wouldn't be so bewildered. Arcade Fire is exactly what they love to go overblown about, from the constantly morphing sound to the huge number of member milling about the stage.
I was an indie music journo, and it still surprises me. Or perhaps just annoys me that they can't see how they're being pandered to by a second-rate warmed-over Echo & The Bunnymen
Given the critical love slathered on Conor Oberst, nothing surprises me any longer.
I should have said "Brooklyn indie music journalists." 🙂
He was praised by Bob Dylan. How can they think anything else about Oberst and still be thought leaders among their crowd?
Conor Oberst is insufferable. Even for a second.
Also, my entry into this thread would be Eric Clapton.
the huge number of member milling about the stage.
Speaking of this, how did Earth, Wind and Fire ever make any money? Maybe they didnt.
You are insane
WikiP calls them, 'one of the greatest musical achievements of the 20th century' or some shit. Yes they made money. They and Kool and the Gang pretty much owned the planet for a while.
Arcade Fire is really good at rotating great albums with horrible ones. Funeral and The Suburbs were fantastic, Neon Bible is horrendous, and I couldn't handle any songs from the new one for more than 30 seconds the new album comes on so I imagine it's terrible, too.
Kanye is an overrated rapper, but he really does make good beats.
I couldn't handle any songs from the new one for more than 30 seconds the new album comes on so I imagine it's terrible, too.
Apparently I forgot to click backspace before rewriting that sentence.
Neon Bible was their best album. I enjoy the other three, but none are as dynamic and explore as many musical themes as Neon Bible. I really don't understand the hate.
My impression was that it just kind of went off the rails. It tried to do too many things and didn't really do any of them well. I haven't listened to it in a few years, though. Maybe I'd like it better now.
Yeah, well you'd better listen to it again and you better like it this time. How dare you have a different opinion than me? 🙂
Sublime.
How they ever got a paying gig that wasn't a dive bar is beyond me.
Skynyrd

Proof you are wrong.
Seger
Agree with sarc on all counts.
I will say it: The Beatles.
There are great, excellent, one of the best of all time. And still the most over-rated.
Yes. They can be simultaneously the best and the most overrated. They were just that good.
Yep, I can get with that. No band is beyond criticism, apart from the fucking Beatles it seems.
I can't stand their dull, incipid sound. The best beatles song I ever heard was actually a cover by aerosmith.
If you're going that route then I'll have to say Zeppelin. Great blues cover band, but not worthy of nightly sets on all the classic rock stations.
You have been banned from both the planet earth as other realms of midgard forthwith. To the ice-troll cave with you.
Plus, any skynyrd memorabilia must be returned immediately, especially if you owned them ironically. Please also leave your balls in the basket on your way out. You wont be needing them.
Michael Jackson.
Every act from Canada with the exception of Rush.
Cmon, even Skinny Puppy? The Tragically Hip? Godspeed You Black Emperor?
Saw the Tragically Hip open up for Page/Plant.
They suck.
What a stupid combination. The art of pairing a good support act to the main attraction is clearly dead.
Celine Dion is a treasure to Las Vegas you monster. Corey Hart? Shania Twain? Alanis Morisette? Justin Bieber? I'll give you Neil Young though.
Ugh, Neil Young
They can all jump in a lake.
Bob Dylan.
It took me way too long to figure out that Cooperative Interrogative was not a bandname.
My first reaction was "Cooperative Interrogative - never heard of them", so you are not alone.
Singer: Bob Dylan/Roger Daltry
Musician: Bob Dylan. Is that supposed to be a harmonica?
Band: The Beatles/The Rolling Stones/The Who/Eddie Money.
Good list.
Boston!
America!
Any band named after a geographical location!
Walter Yetnikoff (former head of Columbia) said there were two artists he truly despised: Tom from Boston and Paul Simon
Kansas isnt over-rated.
Best Kansas song was performed by Gwar.
Green Day.
^^ This. Bubblegum Punk for the easily offended.
Eagles. Oh how I hate the Eagles.
Had a rough night?
I loathe southern rock.
I thought the Eagles were California rock.
Southern rock is a style, not a location.
Is REM southern style?
Hope you know more on this than on subsidies.
Is REM southern style?
You're so stupid it makes my head hurt.
And The Eagles still aint it.
Joe Walsh is the best thing about The Eagles and he was much better on his own.
Joe Walsh is the best thing about The Eagles and he was much better on his own.
I agree.
Joe Walsh is in the running for most under-rated.
Joe Walsh is in the running for most under-rated.
Agreed.
Possible hyperbole warning, but Im sticking to it:
County Fair is one of the greatest music pieces in the history of music, any genre.
The lyrics are silly, but thats part of the fun.
Are Ringo Starr and Joe Walsh still both married to the Bach sisters?
Joe Walsh is the best thing about The Eagles and he was much better on his own.
Very true. But The Eagles still suck.
And Don Henley almost cancels out everything that's good about Joe Walsh.
Get the fuck outta my cab!
How has nobody said Nirvana?
Blasphemer!
John Cage
Tupac
Oh, wait, I forgot Lou Reed.
Did you know he died?
Really? Huh, I can't believe nobody here mentioned it before.
The Rolling Stones, They have just about 1 album's worth of great songs and 1 more album's worth of average songs in a 40 year career that covers 25 studio albums, 24 compilation albums, 13 live albums, and 5 boxed sets
SINATRA.
Nirvana
Fleetwood Mac.
Jefferson Dirigible.
My favorite local band name was Jefferson Tarc Bus.
Tarc is "Transit Authority of the River City", Louisville's bus line, which is in Jefferson County.
Yeah, I know, explaining jokes isnt funny, but it amused me.
Jefferson SLUT would be a good one.
"...A few recent studies still claim that corn ethanol produces fewer emissions than gasoline,..."
Could this get any worse? They double down on environmental destruction in order to mitigate environmental destruction.
This is identical to destroying the village to save it. This is what happens when you dangle govt. money in front of scientists to do studies and give opinions that agree with what the pols want. If the pols decided to fake an alien invasion, dangled a few dollars in front of the astrophysicists those so-called scientist would be swearing up and down on news reports that it was true.
Nothing they say anymore has any credibility.
"Elliot Rodger's half-white male privilege
"The killer's Asian heritage matters. So does his ugly class entitlement. Misogyny crosses lines of race and culture...
"Predictably, the right is having a lot of fun with progressives' calling Rodger white, because denying Rodger whiteness gives them another reason to deny white male privilege entirely....
"Why is it so hard to recognize Rodger as of mixed racial descent? It certainly doesn't negate the role white entitlement and privilege played in his "syndrome." Rodger is at least partly a victim of the ideology of white supremacy, as well as its violent enforcer. He struggled with his status as half-Asian, writing "I always felt as if white girls thought less of me because I was half-Asian."...
"Merely labeling Rodger white, and his problem one of "white privilege," also obscures the role of class in heightening his toxic sense of entitlement....
"Dismissing Rodger as white implies that Asians can't be racist on their own, that it was only his white half that made him hate black people and Mexicans. Labeling him Asian, or making the preposterous suggestion that he committed an anti-white hate crime, ignores that he was both the prisoner of white entitlement and supremacy as well as its avatar."

How did I know that was Salon before I got to the bottom?
The incandescent idiocy gave it away.
We need an engine powered by idiocy, the potential energy output would be unsurpassed.
A veritable klieg-light emporium of stupid shit, eh?
Life must be so much easier when you give in to doublethink.
Joan Walsh has learned to truly love Big Brother.
"Half-Asian Guy Shoots Gun at Blonde Women in Shocking Act of White Supremacy! News at 11!"
For some reason I keep trying but still find that the number of fucks I give about this still equals zero.
A few recent studies still claim that corn ethanol produces fewer emissions than gasoline
I'm curious (but not so much that I would research it myself) whether these studies compare ethanol vs gasoline on a per gallon or per mile basis. Because that makes a significant difference, since ethanol is less energy dense and mileage goes down substantially.
I'd also wonder if they compare the production emissions.
I would not be surprised if the answers were by gallon and no respectively.
Do they include emissions from production and transportation?
It is probably per unit volume. Much easier to do the study if you just have a combustion engine run through a static volume of each chemical and measure the outputs.

Prepare yourselves for a shock: Many of the Gawker commentarist don't give a shit about that baby burned by a flashbang grenade.
They came so close to the truth, just lacked the realization that SWAT was being called for average, harmless, dealers.
Suspected meth dealers with a history of having AK-47s. Seriously, people keep leaving that part out. Also, literally the only way someone dies from a flash-bang is how this kid would die, by being young and by having it right by their face. The flash-bang is primarily used to help innocents who might be caught in a crossfire as it completely stuns whoever is in the room with it. It gives the cops a chance to get in and apprehend the culprits before they have a chance to act. It's a freak occurrence when a kid dies though as it's not like a flash-bang is fragmentation grenade. It's literally got more in common with a firework than a grenade.
That's a whole lot of stupid right there.
Also, literally the only way someone dies from a flash-bang is how this kid would die, by being young and by having it right by their face.
What kind of foul creature thinks this actually excuses killing the kid?
It's the NRA's fault.
I think that Gawker writers and commentors have officially passed YouTube commentors as the dumbest and most useless forms of life on the planet.
Gawker spore, Valley Wag, had an article yesterday about how Uber's driverless cars were going to kill jobs for drivers. You know, just like those ATMs put bank tellers out of work, FOREVER.
Just remember, their vote counts the same as yours in our great republic!
The balance seems now to be running against the cops.
Also, this got posted
Now that's funny
Sometimes you ride the horse and sometimes the horse rides you.
Won't somebody please think of the children? No, the other children.
I almost got caught crossfire of the Budweiser v. Coors gang war on the way to work today.
Let's not get it twisted - I think they went to flash-bangs because of the informed risk of illegal firearms, not the meth itself.
I'm not a chemist, nor did I ever watch any Breaking Bad, but throwing an incendiary item like a flash-bang into a meth house where meth is potentially cooked seems... unwise.
This just in:
Shinseki has apparently expressed remorse at the massive failures of the government agency he is ostensibly in charge of.
Move along, nothing to see here.
Let me know when he shows contrition for the beret fiasco.
I would love to ram one of those "we are all elite now" black wool head heaters down his throat.
Mistakes were made

can we not demonize officers trying to do their best with the laws that our society has handed them? Please?
So round.
So firm.
So fully packed.
You know what other officers didn't want to be demonized for doing their best with the laws their society handed them?
Holy fuck.
If maiming an infant sleeping in a crib is the best you can do I would strongly suggest you find anything else to do and it would be leagues better.
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says Russia has finally removed its troops from the Ukrainian border.
Putin blinks.
It is good not to have a hot-headed administration.
Sounds to me like he "removed troops from the border" by having them cross the border.
That, or a whole lot of Russian military weaponry and the know-how to use it mysteriously made its way into the Ukraine.
The cake wars continue in Colorado...

ACLU is on the wrong side, I see.
Is Freedom of Association not a civil liberty to them?
This is the kind of thing why at best it's a love/hate relationship with the ACLU. In the end, they care more about the lefty side of the culture war bs then they do about making principled civil liberty stands.
The neo-nazis of Skokie, IL, would like a word...
It's the NRA's fault.
It's always the NRA's fault.
I'm tempted to join the NRA, just to piss people off.
Honestly, I feel bad for a person who worked for them as every other conversation they ever had would probably devolve into a political discussion.
I think it is the best reason to join.
They don't really have my best interests at heart - not 100% at least. And they are no where as omnipotent as the grabbers want to claim they are. But just knowing that DiFi, Chucky Shoomoo, and their ilk feel a pinprick of restraint at the mention of those three letters makes the dues well worth it.
I've been tempted to, but I can't get past the NRA's constant and blatant cop fellating.
In the Cops/NRA defense a surprising amount of them that I've talked to are incredibly pro 2A.
I've been tempted to, but I can't get past the NRA's constant and blatant cop fellating.
That's the deal killer for me.
Yep, but fortunately there's the Second Amendment Foundation, et als.
That was my first thought.
Anti-Semite.
Mine too, but I went a different way.
Springsteen was the person that made me start wondering about this.
Now you're messing with a sonofabitch!
"Forgot Pearl Jam"
I keep trying to as well.
For all of Vedder's bloviating proggiethink, I fucking love his solo music.
He's talking about Paulina Gretzky. I think.
Who the hell is saying she's overrated?
Other women and John, probably.
