A New Jersey teen managed to sneak into One World Trade Center, still under construction, and climbed all the way to the top.
Take that, terrorists!
Damn you. One day.
Not sudden enough, eh?
You snuck in here while it was under construction, didn't you?
Good ones, Fist and Ted.
OTOH -- "The terrorists have won!"
How do you know he wasn't one?! Teen. Terrorist. They both start with Te.
New Jersey doesn't produce terrorists, only douchebags.
Imagine if he had jackknife with him!1!!1!!
Then shouldn't every NJ citizen be in jail?
They're already in a prison of their own making.
New Jersey doesn't produce terrorists, only douchebags.
Wait, isn't The Jacket from NJ?
Then let him come on here and defend his ancestral state... from Ohio.
Douchebaggery is a particularly virulent form of domestic terrorism.
Also, whatever is not mandatory is terrorism.
Hello.
Every year I say it. Not gonna do it. Every year. Yet, I do it. I change a pick. Fricken Ohio St.
Bah. At least I took Dayton in other one.
Poor, poor sloopy.
Today marks the first day of the Iranian new year, Nowruz
Eid Nowruz Mobarak!
In Azerbaijan, they celebrate Nowruz by LARPing.

The National Security Agency's deputy director spoke via video to the TED conference in Vancouver, where he perpetuated the agency's position that it has a public relations problem, not a civil liberties crisis.
Utopia is only one perfect messaging effort away.
Well, to be fair, TED stands for means "terminal erectile dysfunction".
TED stands for means "terminal erectile dysfunction".
Does it last for more than 4 hours then?
NSA really doesn't get it. They really don't......
Oh, they get it. They just don't give a shit.
This.
They don't need to get it. They're still taking in all that data.
Legalize marijuana, use proceeds to help needy, says Oregon Republican candidate for governor Tim Carr
Is he advocating seizing the proceeds, or using the tax money to help the needy?
I think he wants to use the tax money to help the needy but he's adamant about not creating a new bureaucracy. Sounds half-baked but I Iike his instincts.
By needy he means drug warriors in need of new tanks.
Yes to legalizing marujana, no to more welfare. The "needy" have never had it so damn good in this country.
This is why I don't get into pissing matches on the road. Florida has one of the most heavily armed population on the planet.
Bonus: this is why I don't adopt retards.

I'm super pro-2A, but I think warning shots are a bad idea. That said, if you do fire a warning shot and no one is harmed, you shouldn't be doing jail time.
Serious question: Is the idea here that shouting "Stop, or I'll shoot!" takes too long?
Not enough of an attention getter in a melee situation. I'm not going to recommend a "warning shot" but I could see where it might be an acceptable course of action in certain circumstances.
I suppose. It would seem, however, that seeing one's opponent, um, brandishing a firearm might give one pause.
Only into the ground and on the ground floor I hope.
Right. Soft metal at high velocities does unpredictable things.
Yeah, my first thought was that you'd get a lot of morons thinking the safe thing to do is fire up.
My position is that if you're in a situation where shooting someone would be justified, shoot them, shoot to kill, and do not fire at any other time. Anything else is some form of reckless endangerment.
Not to mention if you weak-wrist it and you get a stovepipe. "Time out while I clear the jam!"
you'd get a lot of morons thinking the safe thing to do is fire up.
If you fire straight up, and there is nothing above you, it is safe. Mythbusters did an episode where they calculated the force of a falling bullet and they determined that, due to wind resistance, they don't fall with enough force to be dangerous.
Which is why there are 12,600 hits on google news for "killed by falling bullet", including a 5-year old kid up th road in Montogmery, AL that got killed by a falling bullet, walking with his Dad on July 3rd last year. Think about that before you take your own poorly researched advice on "shooting straight up in the air".
re Mythbuster's episode:
But same Mythbuster's episode said the terminal velocity of a falling, tumbling bullet was 80m/s (about 260 feet/sec, or three times the speed of a well thrown baseball). Coming down on 1 cm circle on top of your skull. If you think your head is proof against amount of force, we may be overestimating your brain/skull ratio.
Don't point a gun at anyone you don't intend to shoot.
It's not complicated.
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan is again threatening to "shut down" social media platforms such as Twitter in his country.
Sounds like someone found Ashton Kutcher's Twitter feed.
Cop Eats Evidence in Court! Did he think it was meat?
Judge should have ordered Ipecac, stomach pumping and, for good measure, multiple enemas and anal probes.
multiple enemas and anal probes.
and if they didn't get the evidence that way, surgery.
"It *must* be in there somewhere! Cut a wider swath!"
To be fair, the piece of paper had strawberry frosting and sprinkles on it.
Sounds like from the quote your provided he's now a "civilian" (no longer a cop).
And note how they said "could" receive jail time for contempt. Will be surprised if he even gets a couple of hours in the a courthouse holding cell.
Cops are like marines. There is no former marine/cop.
The head of Miami-Dade County's Crime Stoppers program could get jail time for contempt of court over his refusal to divulge details about an anonymous tip.
He'll just get a paid suspension.
Oh, I'd bet a good pile of money that the source of the tip is one Richard Masten...
Masten, a former police chief, says the anonymous tip program's integrity is at stake.
Fuck the Sixth Amendment!
"Just the anonymous tip!"

The erudite HuffPo commenters are quick to point out it is only a literary allusion to a character common to the folklores of many cultures, particularly West Africa, and is in no way a racially derogatory term in origin context or common usage. LOL!11!
I wonder why the usually vociferous Democrats have been so niggardly in their criticism of Ruff.
It's because their hearts are black.
Good one, although someone was actually fired from DC govt during the eighties for using that other n-word correctly. Later reinstated, I believe.
More recently than that. Reason is footnoted in the Wikipedia page on the subject. It's an interesting read.
Yeah, I've taken to using the term "sticky trap" because of the widespread misunderstanding of the other term.
You're referring to "begging the question", right?
What a gyp.
This came from a story about Anansi, didn't it? I just realized that.
Br'er Rabbit if you are an American.
That's better. I had posting blue balls since I couldn't post anything in the AM links. Damn you squirelz!
Are you The Florida Man? How are you healing from that gunshot/coconut to the head/backed over by own car/bitten by gator/strangled by snake injury?
Not to be confused with Florida Panhandle Man
You forgot the estranged wife/girlfriend.
There's always an estranged wife/girlfriend.
sometimes it's both.
When you are Florida Man (formerly Floridian) that is just part of daily life. Luckily my ancestors have been here since the early 1800's so I am immune to most bizarre injuries/venoms/improvised drugs.
Still it must have hurt when that electric orange picker yanked yer balls out, even if you were drunk and coked up.
...but most of us wouldn't try to have sex in an orange grove at midnight. You live the life we only dream of.
When the orange blossoms are in bloom love and malaria are in the air.
A New Jersey teen managed to sneak into One World Trade Center, still under construction, and climbed all the way to the top.
Meh, a small group of guys snuck into the twin towers when they were under construction, crafted a fucking tightrope, and WALKED from one tower to the other. They even made a movie about it.
Bravo to the teen.
Bravo to you for the use of "snuck",
BTW.
I friggin' hate "sneaked"
And yet I believe it's proper grammar. My mother's rolling over in her grave. Don't ever ask met to get hanged hung, laid lay lie lore lone... whatever correct.

Georgia might have a very specific form of medical marijuana... for the children.
FTA:
The bill would legalize use of certain kinds of marijuana, specifically cannabis oil for children with seizures.
The bill only allows for marijuana to be ingested orally or by injection (this is a thing?) but not smoking.
The Senate Health and Human Services Committee amended HB 885 on March 12, to grant immunity from prosecution in Georgia for possession of CBD oil obtained legally in a state that allows the use of medical marijuana.
The bill is quick to state it is not to be "construed as any intent of the General Assembly to be moving in the direction of the legalization of the recreational use of marijuana or other controlled substances.
The medical marijuana bill was wed with a bill that mandates insurance coverage for children's autism treatment.
Good luck finding a federally legal source.
The bill would legalize use of certain kinds of marijuana, specifically cannabis oil for children with seizures.
All this for some kid named Lorenzo?
The local news has been covering the seizure prone kids, with their parents saying they'd have to move to Colorado if GA didn't pass the bill. There were legislators worried about what the Feds would do which I guess is why they decided that instead of coming up with dispensaries or something else they punted, saying "hey, you go there, bring it back (which last I heard explicitly violates Federal law, it literally being a case of illegal interstate commerce), we won't prosecute you for doing so."

Russia's lower house of parliament has voted to approve the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine. Only one member voted against it.
That one member? Ivan Offtothegulagsky.
East German judge, no doubt.
He went to the Crimea on his honeymoon and it was terrible. You should read his review on Yelpski.
LOL
I LOL'ed.
Given that he rarely seems to be able to answer any of the reporters' questions, it would be hilarious if he were getting them in advance.
They should probably start giving the advance answers to the teleprompter.
"The National Security Agency's deputy director spoke via video to the TED conference in Vancouver, where he perpetuated the agency's position that it has a public relations problem, not a civil liberties crisis."
Isn't this the same delusional rationalization Obumbles uses when he tries to put one of his brain-farts into action and people hate it? His idea is great, he just didn't explain it well enough or we are to stupid to understand.
Yep
Though what they really mean is that you are too stupid to understand it.
An Arizona reporter claims reporters are providing White House Press Secretary Jay Carney their questions in advance...
I believe that journalists should have a positive duty to disclose any preconditions for interviews, whether those preconditions are an embargo on a specific topic or the requirement of submitting questions in advance.
I agree - but I'm pretty sure any journalist who openly discloses such preconditions will find themselves not allowed to be part of the WH Press Corps anymore.
Suck it ohio schools not named Dayton.
My billion dollar bracket is busted but I picked both Dayton and Harvard in my second bracket. Conspiracy!
..."he perpetuated the agency's position that it has a public relations problem, not a civil liberties crisis."
Nothing wrong with communism that a good PR campaign wouldn't have fixed!
Starving people? Nope, stylishly thin!
I have a 1/13th chance of being the alternate. At this point, I would rather see it thru.
I bet it's the Clapper trial.
Silly me, I forgot he's not on trial.
but tell us all about it once it's over.
Oh, I will. It has nearly EVERYTHING.
"Perhaps THIS will refresh your memory?!"
My wife went yesterday, apparently having a spouse who is a lawyer is enough to make you biased. A murder trial too, at least it would have been interesting. Then again it would have been 2 weeks getting paid $6 a day (of course the "discounted" parking is $6). I don't know how people who aren't salaried like her handle that.
Two elementary teachers apparently got off because their childrenz had big tests coming off. The notion that they thought their work was somehow more important than everyone else's really pissed my wife off.
$12.50 per day here. But only $5 is pay, the rest is for "expenses".
My wife just got her summons. She wants to go because she gets paid time off, but as a lawyer, there's no way she is going to be selected.
See, I don't see that as time off. I'd rather be billing hours so I can take some real time off later.
I think I got $40/day for the Federal Grand Jury I was called for. Didn't get picked. Turns out I know someone who was affected by the alleged crime (bombing at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta)
I've been selected to be in the jury pool for next week. I'd rather be at work -- or committed.
So, commenting has been good today?
When I tried this morning, I couldn't even log in.
You mean the Federal Deficit last year was not the mere $690 Billion the administration has been claiming? You mean it was actually $1T again? Who are these blashpemers that spout such nonsense? ZeroHedge (yes)? Doomer Bloggers? (yes). The GAO? Yes!
In 2013, the GAO totale government cost of $3.8 trillion on total revenue of $2.8 trillion.
2013 Financial Report of the United States Government
Don't fire up Shrike flares like this gaijin
This is what I get for not refreshing before typing my comment. 🙁
But, but, but, Shreeky told us the deficit was going down!
Five years ago, the Administration inherited the largest deficits since the end of World War II and an economy in the grips of the worst recession since the Great Depression. Since then, the President and Congress have taken significant steps to strengthen our fiscal footing by enacting the Affordable Care Act in 2010, the Budget Control Act in 2011, and the American Taxpayer Relief Act in 2013. Together, these three laws have substantially reduced the estimated longterm fiscal gap-and thanks to the tenacity of the American people and the determination of the private sector we are moving in the right direction. In FY 2013 alone, the budget deficit declined by $409 billion since the previous year, dropping from $1.1 trillion to $680 billion. The United States has recovered faster than any other advanced economy, and our deficit today is less than half of what it was when President Obama first took office.
Good stuff.
Good stuff.
Yes, the summary from Jack Lew's "Citizens Guide" is good "stuff"...especially since the charts on p iii give a different answer than Jack Lew's statement in the very same document.
But how did ZeroHead manage to screw it up? (like they always do).
Are those bastards still shorting the market? Buying FAZ? Hording gold for the coming any-day-now hyperinflation?
So you are saying that Jack Lew is wrong about the $680B number or that the GAO is wrong on the 858B number? or that it doesn't matter?
You do realize that the fiscal year ends in September?
You do realize that the fiscal year ends in September?
you do realize all the data in the document is FY13 data?
crap. Why am responding? Smilin' Joe and Ted, sorry.
The United States has recovered faster than any other advanced economy, and our deficit today is less than half of what it was when President Obama first took office.
Good stuff.
Yeah, too bad it's a blatant lie. $328 billion in debt appears out of thin air, but magically doesn't add to any of the final deficit in FY13 or the first monthly reports of FY14.
Just a couple of weeks or so away from seven trillion in total Obama debt and a doubling of the public debt.
"Good stuff" indeed... if you're a complete psychopath and/or a hopeless Obams dick sucker, like guess who.
I might be missing something. Page 42 has net cost (I really think everyone should look at gross for the damage done to the economy though) of $3.6566T, Revenue of $2.8425T for a deficit of $0.8051T, right? Still not 690b of course
yes. In the summary document, GAO rounds expense to 3.7T while showing the 2.84T in revenue...more disturbing is the total Assets listed as 2.9T and total liabilities of 19.8T...which does not include Social Security obligations of course. So assets are 1% of liabilities...it's a 100x1 leverage (minimum) and this qualifies the US for low interest loans?
Not to mention the "hidden" $2T increase in M0 money supply.

Ah yes. Those honorable Democrats.
'I haven't had this much attention since the trial,' he quipped.
'Actually, make that since prison,' he said with a wink.

Yeah, Captain Riker, hundreds of Galaxy class starships appearing left and right and the Bajorans are going to swoop in and attack a shuttlecraft. Can't get anything past you.
I'd like to think Frakes looked over at the director and said "Won't I seem like an idiot if I say that?"
I hope they responded, "Thats the plan".
One of the comments for that vid or another version of it suggested that Riker round up all the Enterprises and go destroy the Borg.
It was the most intelligent comment I have ever seen on Youtube.
Except you would only be destroying one parallel universe's Borg.
But now I could see a 80s anime like series, with them going from parallel universe to another, destroying Borg in each one before jumping to the next, with a very special episode when they get to the Mirror, Mirror universe(s)...
Jonathan Frakes directed eight episodes of TNG. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them.
"Mrs. Pells frozen peas. Full of buttery goodness and green pea-ness. Wait, did I really just say that?"
Right here might be the most intense hour-long YouTube video ever. A Syrian tank driver stuck a GoPro camera onto his tank and went into battle. The hour of footage is spliced with rebel footage of the same battle such that they are time-coordinated. If you have to watch only one little bit, watch the couple of minutes starting at the 40 min mark.
http://sploid.gizmodo.com/incr.....1548084560
Interesting and well-done. Thanks.
What's really interesting is that this footage was definitely not taken with Syrian government approval. The Syrian does not do too well in the video. They do bombard rebel positions but they lose multiple tanks bereft of infantry escort.
Joke:
Q: What do you call the three Syrian tanks jammed together in that narrow street at 25:59?
A: An opportunity.
No kidding. You'd think after 3 years of this the SAA would have developed better tactics and, you know common battle sense. The kind of common battle sense I got after my 10th game on any tank-centic map with buildings in Bad Company 2.
Flank flank flank... then flank some more. And when you're done with that, flank again. Those bitches should never know what direction it's gonna come from next.
But seriously, it's war, people dyin' and all that, but watching the video I literally couldn't help my brain fogging out and going into BattleField 3 mode... I was all... shit, that tank's just sittin there in the street surrounded by a cloud of dust, get your ass around the flanks with some damned anti-tank personnel and hit them from the side or the rear!
Man, there's real destruction in those towns.
I have been kinda out for this week.
Has it been discussed / confirmed / debunked about the human slaughterhouses in Syria?
Do we know anything ?
Apparently there are videos but I can't bring myself to find them and watch. I just can't stand to look at that kind of shit anymore.
Google it up if you dare. I tried to put a link but the goddamn squirrels won't let me.
Are you referring to this?
http://www.wnd.com/2014/03/chr.....hterhouse/
I ain't watching those.
Better nuke Syria from orbit just to be sure.
Come on, WND causes enough brain damage on it's own.
That was the first hit on google. It might be elsewhere.
Well, my day is ruined. What the fuck is wrong with human beings? This is the exact shit that makes me want to be armed.
You were not supposed to watch it. The description was enough for me. Seeing that kind of shit takes a long time to get over.
I just wanted to know if it is true or not.
Sometimes I like to be reminded that there are monsters out there. That they exist.
The world swarms with them.
Fuck, the shots to the back of the heads are disturbing, but not nearly as disturbing as when they sliced that guy's throat, and the noise he made, FUCK, why did I watch that.
Ok so it's true. No surprise.
When I tell people " they are not civilized" they usually have no idea what I mean. When I try to explain it they don't believe me.
Is this how you get off? Making people watch this shit?? Well?? I kid, but I've also known that these people aren't civilized for a long time. Remember when they came out with those beheading videos back in the early 2000s i think? Yeah, saw those too, and it jarred me just as much.
I had a copy of one of those videos on my hard drive but I still haven't watched it to this day. I kept it there just in case I ever needed a reminder of just how messed up people can be.
Yeah there's something to be said about the difference in watching someone get shot vs beheaded/throat slit, it's a much slower death (especially with a less than sharp knife) and the sounds they make...those are what stick in your head.
Also, to add another fucked up detail, he actually opens his eyes a bit and looks right at the camera while his throat is cut open, just before they toss him face down into a pit to bleed out.
I'm also kinda disturbed by the WND headline "Christians throats slit in pagan slaughterhouse", as though we should only be upset because of the specific tribal identities of the victims and perpetrators.
Is it an accurate headline?
I mean, you ever read a book with a caption like "Jewish prisoners kneel at the edge of a pit outside Warsaw"? Did that offend you?
Well, I'm guessing it's not an accurate headline. I'm betting there were lots of non-Christians getting slaughtered too. But muslims getting killed in horrifying ways is unlikely to get the WND readership worked up into a proper hysteria.
The good news is that the FSA is chipping away at ISIS steadily. Bad news is that ISIS still controls a big chunk of the country.
Ah, yes, the plucky freedom fighters of the FSA, of which they are proud to include in their ranks cannibals who advocate genocide against the Alawite sect of Twelver Shia Islam.
We should arm these brave men and assist in their honorable struggle.
We should try not to read statements into posts where nothing supporting that statement is made and we should also not treat one man as representative of an entire disparate coalition.
There was a little bit of sarcasm in my comment, yes.
Ha, on the front page of Huffpo right now: Democrats' Worst Nightmare Coming True
Oooo, what could that be?
ATTACK OF THE KOCHTOPUS!
"It is clear we will be outspent in Senate races across the board just like we were outspent in Senate races last cycle," said Justin Barasky, spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
Lucky for them, they have scores of media outlets willing to propagandize for them free of charge!
He seems to be a special kind of stupid:
The Democrats' strategy seeks to tie GOP Senate candidates to the agenda of Koch groups by highlighting how specific policies advocated by Republicans will aid billionaires and hurt everybody else.
Barasky points to Arkansas Senate candidate Tom Cotton's vote against the farm bill as an example.
The Democrats' strategy seeks to tie GOP Senate candidates to the agenda of Koch groups by highlighting how specific policies advocated by Republicans will aid billionaires and hurt everybody else.
Yeah people who have lost their health plans or have to pay way more for them are totally going to care about KOCH BILLIONAIRE BAD GUYZ.
And if their best example of how to "aid billionaires and hurt everybody else" is to vote against taxpayer subsidies for politically connected farmers...
Well this guy waded into the HuffPo comments and posted this: "The Huffington Post found that labor unions spent more than $1.7 billion on politics and lobbying in the 2012 election cycle. The Koch network spent at least $490 million in the period.
So the Kochs spend 25% of what the Unions do.
Get back to me when the spending is somewhat comparable, thanks."- Brian E., looks like hope is still kindle.
I suspect they don't count unions as "Democratic Groups" in that graph.
Well, here is what Paul K suspects:"Hilarious to cite organizations representing thousands upon thousands of people to try and whitewash two individuals wielding such grotesque influence single handedly...", yeah, that influence is just sooo grotesque, what's that? They employ thousands? Nope, not important.
I love that assumption by the unions and the left - that because the Unions got all those dues' monies from thousands of people, every single individual due payer must therefore automatically agree with whatever political spending the national Union does is a *lie.
*I tried to think of a more clever word - like ridiculous/fanciful or maybe a funny analogy such as "this is like saying a rape victim pregnant by their rapist must have wanted the child" - but honestly, lie is absolutely the most accurate choice. They know a large percentage of their members do not agree with their political spending and have been sued (though non successfully that I know of) due to it.
Additionally, they have faced situations where under new laws new employees refuse to join said union, even though everyone else in the company is union, solely to not have to support candidates/ideas with which they disagree.
Not that it surprises me - but this isn't wishful thinking or exaggeration for effect - it's a simple, childish, unethical lie.
So glad they're working hard to pass laws for my own good.
I was listening to Limbaugh the other day on the drive home, and he made a good point about them. They're basically a symbol to the Left. The Left doesn't see individuals, anyway. They're bogeymen to point at during two minutes hate. What they actually believe is irrelevant.
Yeah, but the Unionz r fo da peeplz!
Truth. Hell, that Reddit thread from a few weeks ago had some nincompoop calling them anti-gay. Because obviously everyone who disagrees with Obama on something must be seething with antigay hatred.
It's just not fair! WAAAAAHHHHHHHh
I wonder if the writer is even aware of what he is doing.
The democrats are going to get destroyed in the midterms. Absolutely destroyed. Donations and campaign spending have nothing to do with it, but hey, whatever they need to tell themselves to sleep at night.
Define "destroyed".
I will bet you that total votes for all seats in Congress will be close to historical norms.
Within 2% of the past two elections (2010 and 2012).
When 2010 is your 'norm' baseline...
No point in arguing about something that hasn't happened yet. Just wait.
If you're talking about the total number of voters being close to historical norms, that would likely be bad for Dems.
As their hatred for Bush and love for The Messiah? have pushed them to the polls in higher numbers than R's for the last few election cycles.
Therefore, if the total number of voters stays basically the same this time around - it would likely be because Rs came out in much higher numbers and Ds stayed home.
At least given the current landscape - that seems most likely.
I don't believe those numbers. What exactly is their definition of "Koch-linked Group?" Or "Democratic Group" for that matter? I imagine the first is inflated and the second is deflated.
This is so fucking retarded
All the data I've ever seen has shown Dems outspending GOP elections by a margin of 2:1 at least.
They already have the top 10 political donors mostly in the bag
https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php
....but noooooo, a couple of rich guys!? AHHHHH!!?!?! PLUTOCRACY!!! TAX IT!! TAX IT!!!
Not counting smaller contributions like Unions helps.
Of course if D's had their way with Citizen's United, the unions would be screwed - not that I'd expect them to held accountable.
/start derp
As we know - only Teabaggin'ly RethugliNazi Libritards deserve things such as heightened scrutiny from the IRS.
& only RethugliHitlers are abusing power by making even a single phone call to a any contributor, even if a family member, from an office phone.
The Messiah? of course is such a great, brilliant, ethical, and all around perfect leader - he can run a an entire political organization out of the White House and have no conflict of interest at all.
Same with environmentalism - government funded research is beyond reproach, whereas any private dissenting research must have been funded only by those who main goal is to kill as many humans as possible through pollution while selling them stuff they don't need/want and most likely will harm them in some way in the long run.
Don't believe me? Just ask around - everyone agrees. I mean it's not rocket science - it's just common sense.
/end derp
That's funny cause I remember the NYT and WAPO even commenting about how much Democrats outspent Republicans last election (and of course how there was nothing wrong with that).
"The National Security Agency's deputy director spoke via video to the TED conference in Vancouver, where he perpetuated the agency's position that it has a public relations problem, not a civil liberties crisis"
Is Walt "Clyde" Frazier doing the P.M. links now?
Or maybe he was just keeping it real, you know, perpetuating, stimulating, elevating, resonating, perpetrating all sorts of ill shit up in the TED piece, no doubt.
You tellin' us that line is "Just For Men?"?
No, Clyde Frazier (as color commentator for the NY Knicks) is famous for using unnecessarily florid terminology for otherwise banal occurrences.
"a studious pass to the perimeter! Effervescent defense, but there's a splendiferous move, proliferating to the basket, germinating the layup, and oh, that egregious, malicious intervention will bring a free throw..."
Posting and toasting!
Dishing and swishing!
Bounding and astounding!
Someone linked me to this guy's blog in an online argument yesterday. His math is good, but his inputs are not, and he switches between numerical and percentage whenever it suits him.
Compare
and contrast.
I presume that when you pointed out this hypocrisy, you were banned from commenting?
Comments are disabled. Surprise.
You know, Chinese people and Jews have faced plenty of discrimination, and yet both groups are more peaceful than whites.
Blaming crime on racism is like blaming an airplane crash on gravity.
This guy is surely aware that black men are about 3% of the population and commit about 50% of the homicides.
I stumped a prog once by pointing out that even black cab drivers are reluctant to pick up black men at night.
It's Tim Wise-land, dude. Just move on.
Hey HM, could you link to the site where you drew rainbows all over a picture of our favorite columnist?
I need it for, uh, research...
Here you go.
Thanks. I'm going to get to work on a project now.
I always have time to study even the lowliest cretin in the derp jungle.
Many of the escort ads in cities plainly say "no black men" even for a black escort. It's a plain as day civil rights violation but nobody does anything about it. It's Rand Paul's fault, I know it.
I never had a prob...wait.
OT: Okay, I try to take to Facebook and argue with proggies on the LA Weekly page, but it's getting too hard. They're just too fucking stupid. It scares me that these people can vote.
It is comforting to note that most of them have no principles at all. They're simply herd animals who flock together for mutual affection.
More or less, but I like to think that my arguments sway some people on the fence, you know, towards freedom and shit.
That's sort of my policy. It's true that you almost never convert anyone, but if bullshit goes unchallenged, it will only spread.
If they're commenting on the LA Weekly page, they're not on the fence, they're grazing in the pasture.
Well, you'd be surprised at the small amounts of "fuck off nanny state" and "it's all about control" comments you'd find on the articles, I certainly was.
Yeah, that crap is tiring - but it does help sometimes. I mean you post anti-liberal comments on liberal blogs and sites like Facebook, you will get undeserved treatment and such - but just as a lot of us here were lurkers before we were commentors - others may be thinking that all these liberal ideas aren't that great and reading your objections, if pointed enough, may help lead them further away from it.
& sometimes even a die-hard believer might have second thoughts given a strong enough argument under the right circumstances.
Though full disclosure - I cannot do that work anymore. I used to, but lacking time and patience these days so I don't really do this much anymore.... but I do promise it does help.
& FWIW - sincerely - Thank you.
I'm glad someone is doing it.
I'm going to see the Blue Angels and Redbull stunt helicopter tomorrow.
That is all.
Cool, have a good time.
We used to go see them at Miramar every year. Much fun was had, as well as flirting with the flyboys in the aircraft viewing area.
If there's anything at Miramar later this year, I'm going to take the kids. I've still never seen an F-22 in person.
My poor Iggles. I didn't expect a win, but dayum.
Uh oh, tomorrow's episode of The Independents is on the environment!!1!!!!11 Cosmotarians unite, because this is going to be Matt's time to shine.
Patrick Moore or GTFO.
Well, we all know Matt's views on global warming, so Patrick Moore would be a great guest, if only to draw attention away from Matt's outfits.
Patrick Moore or GTFO.
Re: RannedPall,
Will Kennedy, Matt and Kmele gather enough courage to finally debunk the 97% consensus canard? Or will they continue to let proggies like Richard Fowler get away with that obvious lie?
Who knows, I don't have cable, so I've yet to watch a single episode, sometimes it sounds like I'm missing a real party.
Who knows, I don't have cable
So you watch tv by candlelight?
A more like gas lamp* light Paul, and I AINT complainin.
Uh, more*
"Make my darlin' daughter here beautiful so I don' have to use no shotgun ever!" said the man with the really ugly NSA... er, daughter, to the hair dresser.
We should all be ashamed, btw, for letting a Canuckistani beat the shit out of all but one of us in the NCAA pool.
Who's winning???
Rufus and someone I can't identify are tied.
There was a Reason tournament challenge this year? Who's hosting it?
I don't recall seeing anything.
It's sloopy's deal...I think he emailed folks who had participated in the past and asked someone to post in the a.m. links, but may have gotten lost in the sqirrels' nest.
Oh I see, I got his email at 8 this morning but I didn't check until now.
Oh well, I've never had much interest in the tournament (or basketball in general) anyway.
Rufus is also in 3rd place, though he's tied with a lot of other folks.*
*Yahoo allows 2 brackets per person per pool
Proggies are pissed that someone didn't use the numbers they pulled from their asses.
Trenberth says data on increased disaster preparation measures should, to some degree, cancel out Pielke's findings.
TO SOME DEGREE. And it's not like disaster preparedness is free.
"This is the same old wrong Roger," Trenberth said by e-mail. "He is demonstrably wrong and misleads."
I guess we'll have to wait for that demonstration. I'd also like to hear about this normalization procedure and what if anything is wrong about it.
the reason they're putting "normalization" in quotes is because they're purposely misapplying the term. What they mean by "normalization" is the he didn't make up some numbers for mitigating factors like they did in order to get their pre-determined result.
The right to keep and bear arms: It isn't just for oppressive, patriarchal penis people anymore.

So, someone who might be considered to be in a group that might attract some unwarranted attention thinks it's a good idea to own guns. There is hope in this world.
That comment has be there all day with no reply. And it even had emotion to go along with the penis logic.
Hehe. Master troll.
You fail to mention this was a scheme whereby he fully expected them to deny him entry and therefore allow him to cry "hypocite". Who got trolled?
We'll see at the parade.
As some of them say in the article, there is no inherent conflict between straight pride and gay lib. They are willing to have him joinn them, they just have to rein in their more enthusiastic followers to avoid an incident. Now, I suspect that some of the marchers won't be able to help themselves and will display their tolerant intolerance.
Kinda what I was thinking.
And then you have a few other problems.
1) purposefully travelling to NYC.
2) willfully participating in a parade when you arrived.
3) paying $12 for a beer in a bar to cogitate about why you did 1 and 2.
Chief of Security (Joe Dunne) really really hates it when you point out that he is a high school dropout that got a $5 security and moved up the ranks to be Chief.
Because by the lack of security in this Country, it doesn't look like it's being implemented by educated people. It looks more like a bunch of uneducated flat-foots that moved up like Bozo here.
"We take security and these types of infractions very seriously and will prosecute violators," Joe Dunne, chief security officer for the Port Authority, said in a statement. "We continue to reassess our security posture at the site and are constantly working to make this site as secure as possible."
This guy, Joe Dunne, Had the BALLS to say that after a 16yo got past sleeping Security Sam, conned the elevator guy, and crawled through an unsecured entry?
The only reason the kid was captured is because he posted it on Twitter. It wasn't like they even knew he was there. Had he not tweeted, they probably would had never even known he was there.
OKO, there is a dude that clearly knows what time it is. Wow.

Saskatchewan considers banning Russian Vodka.
Government cites insufficient Canadian Club content in well drinks sold in Province.
Me too, I didn't last very long on my self-imposed news blackout either.
Candian music video
Wow this is awesome, and I ain't Canadian.
