Heroic second responders clash: policeman cuffs fireman at traffic accident site, both sides call it "isolated incident".

Congress life-form appeals to intelligence and logic!
    (actually pulls sleazy PR stunt)

"Congresswoman sleeps in a homeless shelter"
    [...]
"Speier is gearing up for what she hopes is the next big fight in Congress ? balancing out the growing economic inequality that has ravaged the middle class for years"

Can't touch medical care, since Obo set that on fire; gotta find something else to screw up.

You get a lot of kooky shit in your local rag. The LA Times ignores a lot of the stuff that is worthy of mockery.

      1. Sevo   11 years ago

        pm,
The rag has easy targets with some of the dumbest and/or crooked politicos ever to test the ignorance of D voters.
And then it's sorta like Tony; incapable of shame.
So it's fish-in-a-barrel all day long!

        1. playa manhattan   11 years ago

There's plenty of fodder here too. The editors seem to know that it's shameful, and choose to ignore it.

Tim Dalton got fucked. He wouldn't have been a bad Bond if the writing hadn't sucked so bad.

    1. Ted S.   11 years ago

"We have nothing to declare, except the cello!"

    2. ~Knarf Yenrab~   11 years ago

The Dalton and Brosnan Bonds were products of their times, so don't judge them for the shitty B-movie plots and grade-Z scripting. And don't judge Connery and Moore for their shitty, B-movie plots and ridiculous scripts, either.

Generally speaking, don't judge any actors aside from the new, gritty, Layer Cake Bond, who is the authentic Bond that Rothbard and Fleming would acclaim for his realistic portrayal of a secret agent who always escapes nebulous danger, honeytraps, and chinamen who hurl razor-sharp hats capable of cutting granite.

      1. Grand Moff Serious Man   11 years ago

The best representation of Fleming's Bond is Sterling Archer.

      2. Old Man With Candy   11 years ago

        Korean, not Chinese.

Here's a summary of the Olympics. Nothing you read will ever give you more information that this post:

    Russians haven't mastered plumbing.
    Russians don't trust outsiders.
Russians don't like teh gayz.(wtf happened to this)
Russians are very adept at events that require ice under your feet(other than moving in circles)
Russians suck at(insert your favorite new snowy icy sport)
Russian government trust journalists(foreign and domestic) about as much as our government trusts us.

        I think it's Costas

        1. Francisco d Anconia   11 years ago

Oh, Pussy Riot. I thought he may have been talking about that sellout Shaun White.

          1. CampingInYourPark   11 years ago

I will admit my bias. I've been in Russia. I've had my ASS beaten in Russia, and not even for a cause, other than being obnoxious. All the media coverage of gov't ineptness isn't being reported to display the futility of central planning. It's an attempt to make us think we're somehow better at it, which is ludicrous.

            1. Boisfeuras   11 years ago

It's almost as if seven decades of socialism really fucks up a country. Of course, libertarians just want Somalia with fewer roads and more crew-served weapons (not that the name Siad Barre should mean anything to anyone).

      2. CampingInYourPark   11 years ago

Apparently somebody wore a mask at an event. I'll admit, I've been in Russia several times. I think a lot of this is deflection.

Forget about the US of A because...lmao...look at Russia. As if their government should be more "just" than our own.

  5. Snark Plissken   11 years ago

Will you be discussing his shooldays? How about ole Flashman?

    1. Irish   11 years ago

Wow. This is a really bizarre reference.

      I approve.

      1. Snark Plissken   11 years ago

Well I'm a huge fan of those books so it popped into my mind immediately when I saw Tom Brown.

  6. Almanian!   11 years ago

My wife watched figure skating for an hour or so. TEAM figure skating. Like plain old figure skating isn't gay enough - now we have TEAM figure skating? Srsly.

I threatened to kill myself, so she went to bed.

Also, female snowboarding is ultra boring. And Shawn White's a pussy, cause those little girls got out there and hit that pipe like a crack whore.

I've had enough winter limpiks. Till they get to some real sports, like skiing and luge/bobsled/skeleton. Shit that can kill you.

    1. Some call me Tim?   11 years ago

3 days till curling! It's chess on ice, and I can't wait.

    2. Snark Plissken   11 years ago

Team figure skating, meanwhile they tried to ditch wrestling.

    3. SIV   11 years ago

Figure skating is the apogee of women's sports.

  7. Grand Moff Serious Man   11 years ago

This Bob Costas-led discussion on Russian politics is some of the most vapid bullshit I've ever heard.

    1. Sevo   11 years ago

"This Bob Costas-led discussion on Russian politics is some of the most vapid bullshit I've ever heard."

Yeah, that's cause they're only warming up!
Wait until the guy who does best show-off on a snow board ('cause he turns his left eye! Did you see that?!) gets a story about how his step-dad had a bad case of the flu when the kid was only 25 and the kid had to overcome the tragedy to compete!
Oh, and screw the Olympics; a wondrous concoction of thug governments and a rent-grabbing NGO bureaucracy living the high-life!

  8. Archduke von Pantsfan   11 years ago

Is 2-man luge legal in Russia tho?

    1. SIV   11 years ago

So long as balls aren't touching, it's legal.

  9. Archduke von Pantsfan   11 years ago

This Monuments Men is being pushed to hard it's gotta be awful.

Valentine's Day presents you'd never think of on your own

I'm about to drop the bomb.

CNN Poll: Is Bush still to blame for economy?

    1. widget   11 years ago

FDR is responsible for American socialism and Ronald Reagan keeps knocking out California's electrical power grid. Bush Jr. will become more powerful when he dies.

  12. Archduke von Pantsfan   11 years ago

    I do love bobsled.
My question is, who wakes up and decides their role is to be 3rd man on a bobsled team?

    1. Archduke von Pantsfan   11 years ago

      Is it a calling?

  13. RishJoMo   11 years ago

Sometimes man, you jsut have to roll with it.
