Obama to Propose Raising Minimum Wage for Federal Contractors
Expected to suggest a minimum rate of $10.10 at the State of the Union
In his State of the Union speech tonight, President Obama will announce his intent to use his executive authority to raise the minimum wage for federal contract workers to $10.10, the White House said Tuesday.
The move is the latest signal of the president's willingness to use executive action to bypass Congress when they are not passing legislation, a strategy he will stress in his State of the Union address.
