Special Prosecutor Hired For Bridgegate Scandal Investigation
Reid Schar was the lead prosecutor and investigator in the Rod Blagojevich trial
TRENTON, N.J., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- New Jersey lawmakers said Wednesday former U.S. prosecutor Reid Schar will serve as special counsel for an investigation into the so-called Bridgegate scandal.
Schar is a former assistant U.S. attorney who served as lead investigator and prosecutor in the 2010-2011 investigation and trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a Democrat who is serving a 14-year federal prison sentence for corruption.
