Japan's Suntory Acquiring Beam, Maker of Jim Beam and Maker's Mark Whiskey, for $16 Billion

Beam, the maker of Jim Beam and Maker's Mark bourbons along with other liquor brands, has agreed to be acquired by Japan's Suntory Holdings Ltd. for approximately $13.62 billion.
Shares of the spirits maker jumped in Monday premarket trading.

People on radio where making a deal (not a big one) about Makers not being American owned anymore. I didnt hear a peep about it back when Allied Domecq owned them.
