Clay Aiken Reportedly Considering Running For Congress
In Carolina's 2nd District
Will Clay Aiken be adding "congressman" to his resume?
The American Idol runner-up is said to be "actively considering" a bid for Congress in North Carolina's 2nd District, according to a report in The Washington Blade. The seat is currently held by GOP Rep. Renee Ellmers, who first won the seat long held by a Democrat in 2010.
Aiken reportedly has been making calls to gauge support in the district, including to a Democratic political consultant and pollsters. The Washington Blade report cites unnamed sources.
