Rep. James Sensenbrenner: James Clapper Should Be Prosecuted for Lying to Congress
Original PATRIOT Act author goes after director of national intelligence
Rep. James Sensenbrenner Jr., the original author of the Patriot Act, says Director of National Intelligence James Clapper should be prosecuted for lying to Congress.
"Lying to Congress is a federal offense, and Clapper ought to be fired and prosecuted for it," the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview with The Hill.

Did it never occur to Sensenbrenner, when he wrote that freedom stealing law, that overstepping the bounds of that law might (would) occur ?
Many mistakes were made when emotions ran high after 9/11. This, after Iraq, was probably the worst. Knee jerk reactions to big events by politicians rarely turn out well.
The fact that he couldn't see this as a probable outcome means he ought to be fired too.
