Man in Custody Following Stabbing Spree in Texas Hospital
Nurse killed; four others wounded
Police have detained a suspect after a stabbing attack at an East Texas hospital left one nurse dead, another hurt and three visitors wounded.
The stabbings happened Tuesday morning at a surgical unit of Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. CEO Steve Altmiller calls the attack an isolated incident and the hospital was reportedly placed on lockdown after the incident.
Police Officer Kristie Brian says a suspect has been taken into custody. Details about him and a possible motive for the stabbings at the Ambulatory Surgical Center, across the street from the main hospital, weren't immediately released.
