Florida's Governor Wants Trey Radel to Resign
Agrees with state GOP party chairman
Speaking Tuesday after a ground-breaking ceremony by Hertz in Estero, Fla., Scott said he agreed with the state Republican Party chairman's position on Radel.
Lenny Curry, chairman of the Florida GOP, and the executive committees of the Lee and Collier county Republican parties have called for the resignation of Radel, the embattled first-year House member who pleaded guilty last week to a cocaine possession charge.
"I agree with the party chairman," Scott told reporters Tuesday. "Trey is going through a tough time. My prayers and my wife's prayers are with his family. But we have to hold all of our elected officials to the highest standards."
