Brown University to Investigate Heckling of Ray Kelly
Punishments possible
Brown University is giving the students who booed NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly off stagelast week something new to complain about. In a letter released to the Brown community Wednesday, the university's president, Christina Paxson, said that while "It is impossible not to empathize with our students who strongly object to stop-and-frisk policies and racial profiling," the Brown Code of Student Conduct states that "protest becomes unacceptable when it obstructs the basic exchange of ideas."
