Mich. Governor Won't Weigh In on Detroit's Mayoral Race
Snyder won't say who he wants to win
You might be able to make an educated guess, but Gov. Rick Snyder won't be revealing who he's hoping wins Detroit's mayoral election Tuesday.
Both candidates, Mike Duggan, whom polls show has a commanding lead, and Benny Napoleon, have said they didn't support Snyder's decision to install Emergency Manager Keyn Orr
But Napoleon took his dissent a step further when he stated if he becomes mayor he'll work to ensure Snyder doesn't get another term.
"No," Snyder said when asked if he'd share his opinion on the race after speaking to a group of nearly 600 Muslims at an annual banquet Sunday. "The way I view it as the mayor of Michigan, I think it's a local election" for the people of Detroit to decide.
