Fla. Congressman Bill Young 'Gravely Ill'
Longest-serving Republican in Congress at 82
Longtime Congressman C.W. Bill Young is "gravely ill," a spokesman said Thursday.
"Rep. C. W. Bill Young's condition turned for the worse over night and he is gravely ill," the spokesman said. His prognosis is "guarded."
Young, 82, the longest-serving Republican in congress, has been at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where last week he announced his retirement, effective after his current term expires in 2014. He was first elected in 1970.
