Senate Expected to Vote on Spending Deal in the 6PM ET Hour
Government will be funded through January 15, debt ceiling raised for spending through February 7
The Senate is scheduled to vote on the debt ceiling agreement reached between Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). The vote will likely be at 6pm ET. If the agreement passes, it goes to the House for a vote, possibly later tonight.
Speaker Boehner issued a statement saying that the House GOP will not vote to stop the agreement. " . . . blocking the bipartisan agreement reached today by the members of the Senate will not be a tactic for us," he wrote.
