Engineers Recruited to Work on Hyperloop Concept
Company formed to advance Elon Musk's rapid transit idea
After announcing a plan in August to take Elon Musk's Hyperloop idea and run with it, Southern California-based JumpStartFund has recruited two respected engineers to lead the effort. Marco Villa, former director of mission operations for SpaceX and and Patricia Galloway, the first woman President of the American Society of Civil Engineers, will coordinate a month-long process of soliciting community interest and ideas for the project, which will culminate in JumpStartFund forming a company to pursue the development of the Hyperloop.
"A lot of people talk about why this project will never work and how difficult it is to realize," said Dirk Ahlborn, CEO and co-founder of JumpStartFund. "We are honored to have Dr. Villa and Dr. Galloway on board to lead our community, and their involvement goes a long way to proving that our platform's processes, along with our community, can actually bring mega projects to life, such as Hyperloop."

JumpStartFund does things with a unique formula that takes elements from open-source software and peer review to basically crowdsource the best possible ideas.
What a bunch of buzzword malarky. The idea for the Hyperloop maybe sound, but that statement is marketing hype.
